One of the worst customer care team....I had requested the council rate annual report, needed the final amount I paid for the financial year. Normally council would just advise the total amount paid for the rates, but I had to pay $12.50 for the report. Any other council would just advise the amount we pay for the year. They dint send me the report and charged the money. I had to follow up with my bank to get the final figure and after that I advised the council not to send any more reports and refund the $12.50 (unnecessary fees they had charged). After hearing this, they sent me the report in just half an hour of my call and said that they cant refund the fees since the report was sent to me. (after my call advising not to send the report and I was also given the ref number for the same. No one accepted their lack of serviceability and when I called to request the refund and explained the situation, the customer officer started giving the excuses saying we were very busy and all...and finally after not being able to provide a proper reason, she said she will get her team leader to call back but dint know when will I get a call since they were busy and hung up on me. First of all, no council would charge the money to advise the residence about the money we paid in the last financial year and on top of it they never accepted their mistake and disconnected the call. Worst customer service experience.

I give you people at the Shire of Cardinia no stars,, Why,,,, Let's start with the state of the roads in and around a little place called Gembrook. Ure and Bessie Creek roads in particular are a complete disgrace, especially Ure Road which we live on, It has cost me a sunroof ,a complete new suspension and other numerous things to both of my vehicles. You get a grader operator to come out once every 3 months to do a half day of grading and that's it,, the amount of money you have wasted in 15 years on maintaining these roads,you could have sealed them and been done with it, you people are negligent of your actions and one day there will be a serious accident on long these 2 roads and if you dont know the Law, Negligence is a Crime. So do something constructive for once and seal these 2 roads, This is the 21 century if you didn't know, so get with the Program.....I have to give you guys 1 star because it wont let me post with no stars but you dont deserve it..STOP WASTING TAXPAYERS HARD EARNED DOLLARS> with out us, you wouldn't have a job.Do Your Job.!!!!

worst possible experience dealing with the planning team. If I could give them 0 stars I would. They are incompetent and not held accountable at all to anyone other than themselves. They do not follow up, don't request required documents to complete permits so they can intentionally delay things, all while expecting people to know what they need and what they are thinking. They provide false and misleading information, and play the blame game when caught out. You should all be ashamed that you put people through such stress and financial duress for their own inadequacies and lack of professionalism. If anyone ran a business like they run the council, it would be bankrupt. Someone needs to investigate this team for their lack of performance and due- diligence and hold them accountable like anyone else that doesn't work for the government. STEER CLEAR!!!!!!

Giving 1 star as I am unable to give zero. Many issues, waiting time on the phone is very very long, and when you get through they have a habit of cutting you off. Out of the blue I received a letter for a debt collection agency stating we have not paid our rates. I had called numerous times to set this up on the house we are having built. They repeatable sent the bill to a plot of land we are building on. However did send the debt collection letter to the address we wanted the rates sent to! I complained about this, and the reply was just a list of calls i made. Not addressing why things went wrong. Also the rates are very very high, for an appalling service. I believe the area is growing faster then the council can manage. And don't get me started on attempting to order a dust bin!

Very dissappointed on the general culture of several depts i have engaged with . Insular , careless lack of empathy toward rate payers , land owners and small business in their own area - from "engineer" John Ritchie callous response regarding his own blatent mistake costing months of extra waiting time to build - that '" i dont need to hear about that " thru to others having showing no care or exception for any human circumstance - until i had to engage my Dr, with letter and was sorted . This is the attitude we are getting back for our significant , rising rates . If these people were in private enterprise / small business they wouldnt last long , but we have to pay them to be treated like this . SOMETHING HAS TO CHANGE .

Less than impressed. Rang about pet registrations and not seeing the bill in the mail yet. The gentleman who answered the phone mumbled his name, and then seemed quite disinterested with my enquiry. He said that there was a processing error and the bills were on the cusp of being sent out but they were still due on the 10th of April (which of course, doesn't matter if the council stuffs up, they'll still expect their money by their due dates). I actually had to pry that information out of him due to this person being so distracted/ disinterested. Usually I have no issues when I ring the council with an enquiry but was quite disappointed.

Car parking around Beaconsfield train station is dismal. The council allow more and more housing estates to pop up in the area and instead of upgrading car parking facilities they have fined their residents for “parking on naturestrips.” The council shouldn’t be targeting their residents who have to park on the gravel along Beaconsfield station out of necessity. We just want to go to work and come home. Our commute already takes 1.5 hours each way so catching a bus adding another 30 mins each way is not a realistic solution! Stop targeting the people you are supposed to be Serving

This is a council that the Victorian Governmant seiously need to review. I called to get a copy of previous years rates notice and response was that I need to apply online after paying $12.50. I asked if they can tell me how much I have paid and after consulting the rates department I was told that the information is a subject of online application, as such that cannot be provided over the phone! I am a rates payer and the collector event asks for a fee to tell me how much I have paid them. Is this a council or a criminal taking people hostage for ransom? Appalling...!!!

As a legal professional, I required a rate update from the Council, prior to settlement. I rang twice and hung up, each time, after 10 minutes. The third time, I waited for more than 25 minutes, before the call was answered. When I provided feedback to the Council officer, I received a very rude and curt response. All up, nearly an hour of professional time, that needs to be paid by someone. This is the worst service I have experienced from any Council - disgraceful! I have provided one star, only because this comment could not be posted otherwise!!!

Contacted council last week about tree over hanging to my property, this tree is causing damage to my property, debris in gutters and causing leaks and a branch has also fallen and hit my head. This tree is on council property I spent thousands redesigning because of the tree as it’s on council property only to be told they won’t trim the tree, they want me to pay to have branch cut. Since this can cause harm and on council my expectation is the council would manage this.

New to the area and so far the experience with council is very very poor ! They don't even bother to reply to e mails and it seems as if they don't even know the answers to some questions ! Rates are a rip off ! Way too high for a new area with nothing to offer yet , once it's developed the rates should go up but for now they should use common sense and keep them low , but obviously councils never have common sense !

The road services are very poor in Cardinia council. There are many pits in the Officer station streets.The weeds along Bayview road pedestrian are overgrown and there is no space left along the pedestrian to walk. It's not safe to walk there. I am wondering if the council cares about safety of the community? We as rate payers pay a lot each year to the council but we don't get the deserved service.

Absolutely useless! poor communication, no follow up on issues, no return calls, No care in the world for your problems at all, promise the world but give you donuts. Dont know why i bother leaving this feedback, not like they're going to read it or be concerned at all? Happy to take your rates money though! Well done Cardinia council, outstanding service! People beware.

I have found it all depends who you talk to: deal with as to wether you will resolve your query. Have to agree though they are not big on following up on queries or even communication in regards to staffing issues that have or may effect the time frame your query will be resolved. Not keen on the guessing game where money is concerned. Definitely room for improvement.

Every department head in this organisation must be battling for the title of who can be the most useless. Roads not maintained, foot paths not maintained, service requests ignored and parks not maintained. These are fundamental council responsibilities - how do you continuously fail to meet the basics but expect the rate payer to keep paying your excessive rates??

Rude staff. Asked to speak to someone else other than the rude person at reception to be put through to Rates area to get someone even ruder. Didn't want to even listen to me. If I spoke I was told to stop speaking over her. Queried why I have not received my rates notice in the mail 2 years in a row to be told it's my responsibility to follow up my rates.

Worst council I've come across till date. No responsibility or ownership of issues. No prompt reply unless you raise a request or send an email. If you voice your issue they take time to respond. Where's all that money we pay in rates and dog fees going? Dog parks are mucky and roads full of pot holes that could take someone's life

we recently moved to this area and I missed the bin collection date. I sent an inquiry to the council and a gentleman from the council called me within minutes and after couple of hrs my bins were collected. Really impressed with the service. Thanks a lot for the great support.

They fined me for parking in my driveway then wouldn’t answer the phone x3 ... didn’t return calls. Went in person with my daughter and the fine notice and they refused to deal with it. Its issued by this council and they won’t deal with it. So what am I supposed to do?

I've lived within the Cardinia Shire district for 5 years now and have received great customer service, time and time again. I've now moved to a different council area but would like to thank the council members on their great customer service :)

appalling service.. our road has not been graded for over 2 months, and is pretty well undrivable... been complaining for over six weeks, still not done after numerous assurances would be attended to... its unsafe and ridiculous!!!

Unprofessional and petty. Exactly like all the other reviews state, they don't help you or treat you with assistance they get more determined to make your problem worse. Excessive cost for rates more than all other suburbs.

Thought Maroondah was bad, when it came to cleaning streets, parks, but they put Cardinal to shame ( or perhaps, cardinia council doesn't care much about Officer) rubbish piling up for months
