This time, I don't take your irresponsible and untrained employees to the court. I just sent you this email asking to have more proper training for your employees so that they can provide acceptable services. Hopefully, someone will do something to help the council improve their services and to at least pretend that you care about the health of people, which should be above anything else. Dear Director of Regulatory Services, I trust this email finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention a recent experience I had with the council's handling of a matter (I removed the name of the employee - Regulatory Service Authorised Officer), which left me deeply concerned about the level of service provided. My intention is not to complain but rather to express my hope that necessary measures, such as training, can be implemented to avoid similar occurrences in the future and enhance the overall service quality. I recently received correspondence regarding a matter that I find both unethical and unacceptable. Despite our efforts to communicate a pressing medical condition, the response received was dismissive, stating that the issue did not fall within the council's purview. It is disheartening to encounter such a lack of empathy, especially when dealing with matters of urgency. Furthermore, the initial response from your officer, who failed to properly assess the situation and opted for a low-quality, rushed photograph labelled as "Officer's notes and photograph," raised concerns about the professionalism and thoroughness of the council's approach. Subsequent interactions only compounded these concerns, as a second review officer reiterated that the council deemed the situation outside its responsibility. While I am willing to address the matter promptly and pay the required amount to the Council of Dandenong, I feel compelled to highlight the importance of responsibility to taxpayers. The council's duty extends beyond mere transactions, encompassing a commitment to public welfare and well-being. I genuinely believe that with adequate training for all employees, there is potential to significantly improve the level of service provided by the council. Training initiatives could include enhancing communication skills, promoting a more empathetic approach, and ensuring a thorough understanding of the diverse issues that community members may face. I appreciate your attention to this matter and trust that, with your leadership, positive changes can be implemented to foster a more responsive and responsible local government. Thank you for your understanding and consideration. Thanks,

Dandenong Ranges, Victoria, Australia will forever be tarnished for me by Paul a Dandenong Ranger. This creep has done something with our dog and best friend/child Sophie. After what feels like a lifetime I have been unable to find out any information on what he did with her body after he picked her up. If he has stolen her we would not know as nobody from the Greater city of Dandenongs council would help us at any point of this. All we wanted was our baby's body back home but have been robbed of any sense of grief or even belief that it was even her except her collar that was given to us like we were buying something illegal. Please if you have a spare couple of minutes today call the the Greater City Of Dandenong on 8571 1000. Ask for Paul and just ask what he did with Sophie? It shouldn't even be a problem so what did he do? Ringing and complaining, just asking what happened If anything just shows that they can't just sweep whatever happened to Sophie under the rug and I'm sure many others have also had this happen but people never find out. This has been my experience so far with this council. Trying to get this message out there as much as possible. I give them 0* as I feel sick giving them any credibility and we need a body who oversees the people who work and run these places and they are incompetent and definitely using their positions of power for personal gains.

If I could give a negative star review I would A few months ago I went to Dandenong on a Saturday. As I am not from Dandenong area and was my first time in the centre, I was unaware of paid parking on the Saturday. As I don't carry change, I went into the store to ask for change. Within 1 minute I was fined. When I explained to the officer he said nothing he could do. I sent a notice for a review and the council adviced the fine would need to be paid despite the cashier willing to make a formal statement on my behalf. They also mentioned credit card facilities are located within Dandenong which I could of paid for a parking ticket. Would be hard to locate with no signs and within 60 seconds. Received a further letter stating the officer started his shift 1 minute before my fine was issued and notified me that the fine has been paid and the matter was closed. I didn't want the council to charge a me a late fee and get more money from me, because clearly they are just after money. I recommend to all people to avoid Dandenong and shop elsewhere because the council does not review matters properly as they just want money. Will never visit the area again.

Couldn't take a green bin that had a branch sticking 2 inches out. Life is obviously too hard for some people, I employ ppl and if my worker told me it was too hard to take that bin, I would send him home to have a big think about where he is in life. Absolutely ridiculous! Taking ppls money and not doing there job, and when challenged they do not try to work with you, they are very inconsiderate and clearly have a toxic working environment, they are supposed to help the residents in there municipal area, but treat them with contempt . Fined me after I had already paid my pet registration and then told me , I hadn't paid in time. When I paid my registration, they didn't even mention any fines whatsoever . I now have to fight them in court just to prove how ridiculous they are.

Been living in this city since 2013, and still here, personally, it's one of the best cities in Victoria, to all its staff and employers, you are doing such a great job. Beautiful clean parks, Aquatic Center, New Skate Park, Magnificent Colorful Council Office Building, Captivating Colorful Lights on Lonsdale Street, i don't know how many Councils can boast of all such great services including the massive migrant population and one of the busiest Law Courts in the Country. I just want to know how you guys do it Dandenong City Council, a lot of the Councils have so much to learn from you. I just want to tell you all, keep up the good works and some of us do really appreciate it. The work i see you guys do is amazing and this Council is one of the finest. keep up the good work.

Here's an idea - don't sign off on tons of development projects if you can't handle your backlog! As a buyer in Victoria (where builders have all the leverage and the law behind them), after waiting years for the builder's paperwork to go through council, they can't share any info or give any ETA. No timelines, nothing due to red tape. "Could be days, could be months" is what I got from the Planning department. Is the bar that low? The fat government salaries are for such a low bar on doing your job? Raise the council rates while you are at it why don't you..

I just contacted council by phone about my green not fully empty. During the call my phone line was dropped and I called again and the First officer called me back and I hanged up the call on hold with second officer. My issue was organised by first officer and at same time the second officer call back too. I want to say I am really appreciative these two lady officers. They show me what is the best service from local government.

Dandenong It is no longer the quiet and peaceful town that people loved. Dandenong is now probably Australia's most famous beggars' town. All supermarket entrances and traffic light positions at intersections are occupied by young and strong beggars. When chatting with out-of-town friends, they all habitually refer to Dandenong as a ”beggars town“. This may be the ”honor“ that Dandenong Town Manager likes very much.

I had lots of experience with council staff. Staffs worked at the back end are mostly very rude. They don't pass messages if particular person was not there. They don't even tell you the time when they will be available. Helpless and hopeless. Very poor management. Look at the streets , very mess. Rubish everywhere. They don't mow lawn. No night life. Wasting taxpayer money. Library is there but not enough parking.

Technically worst council not helpful bullies. CCTV camera only for influential people's area. Worst car parking practices targeting school pick-up and drop off time. No stars. Because they're government officials they can do whatever they want. Election finished next get rid off council staff and replace. I donate money o so many charities I feel so happy but council they're parasite. Image of dandenong

This time we need to vote for someone who deserve to be a Dandenong council, now it’s just a joke too much corruption, no law at all this council closed the school parking permanently you can’t find any single parking to drop off and pick up your kids everywhere no parking signs it is the main school parking zones what a joke you can’t park from drop off time which is 8:45 and pick up time from 3:15

Received a parking infringement for parking without ticket while I was sorting the ticket. I was in all photos the officer took and he told me the car was parked for a while without ticket. I requested a review with legitimate reason and evidence which was refused. This gives me indication they are all about money not community or doing the right thing here.

Got booked for double parked at Springvale market where its impossible to find a parking spot, only to stop the car for no more than 5 seconds for my wife and my 3 year old daughter to get off the car , this Council is money hungry to sending out dirty parking inspectors to target innocent parents , instead of giving us more parking space

  • Salim k

The worse council ever, only trying to make money, await for truck to leave the drive way, parking inspector gives fine fine for double parking. Most stupid inspectors in universe. Another counter we had, Inspectors does t walk around only drive in their car, creating traffic to see who’s their next revenue making victim.

The worst council ever. Worst customer service, only interested in issuing fine tickets. Asked for a new household bin, it never arrive after 2 months. I had to chase up with the council on the phone for more than 1 hour. But it only took 2 days for you to receive a fine ticket.

  • John Williams

Parking officers in Bennet st so dodgy mate . My Neighbour always call to private number of officer for making fines to my customers .just in 2 minutes officers come and fine vehicle but when I call to council centre; officer comes after 4 hours and tell me it’s ok !!!!!!!

  • TKN V

Rude staff. Just like the others have mentioned. They just waste your time and don't care because they get fat cheques from the taxpayers. Raised the council rates too high too. I see a lobbying for this ridiculousness in the near future.

  • The Reviewer pro

Unfortunately couldn't give zero stars. Instead of cleaning up your council area and making it a nice place U have parking inspectors handing out parking fines like candy. Rude and unprofessional staff like all councils. Buff said

  • Lily

It’s nice overall but why is the volunteering form in the website a pdf and is such a complicated process to fill it up I spent such longtime just trying to fill it up,plz change it to word so it’s easier to fill up. Thank you

Question was answered, but Jennie’s attitude irritates. It would be hard for a person to help others when self is in bad mood.
