"Caulfield Park is a curated space, and these photos are only half of it"
"Large gardened and pooled spaces with ducks"
"Oldest park in Australia with trees over 200 years old, with around 5-6 full size ground that is used for soccer and cricket depending on the season"
"Caulfield Park is really lovely, with lots of different areas to explore"
"lovely park!! had a picnic with friends there, and one of them was able to get an ice-cream from the ice-cream truck"
Caulfield Park is a curated space, and these photos are only half of it. There are three playgrounds, a number of ovals, cricket nets, basketball hoops, exercise stations, the rotunda, numerous picnic spots with cover and electric bbqs, a lake, lawn bowls club, tennis courts, public toilets, off-leash dog area, and lots of parking on the surrounding roads and limited parking within the grounds. A mostly gravel path surrounds the park; it's about 2 km in length and is populated by runners, joggers, people walking, kids on bikes, and the occasional wheelchair. There are also paths through the park and the ones toward the Hawthorn Road side are somewhat covered by tree canopy. That area also has most of the lawn, making it a popular spot in nice weather for sitting on blankets, lying in the grassy, or undertaking various types of exercise (very occasionally trapeze ropes are strung up between trunks of trees and performers with exquisite balance practice not falling off). The landscape is mostly flat, with a hillock in the south east corner the only substantial rise in the terrain, so walking around is not challenging. And if you are in need of refreshment, the cafes on Hawthorn Road are close-by. As are a number of tram stops and even Malvern Station, which makes Caulfield Park public transport accessible. Overall, this is a well used and well tended space for people of all ages.
Large gardened and pooled spaces with ducks. In the right weather it's spectacularly beautiful. The pigeons are so friendly you can almost pet them. The toilet block at the East has a urinal right next to a handwashing basin and no privacy from the doorway where I've nearly been walked in on by a little girl.
Playground
Multiple ones of various ages and quality. You can do anything you'd want across the various playgrounds.
Restrooms
Sparsely around the park there are a few blocks. The other day they were all clogged except the oldest block. One pavilion has a toilet map to tell you that there isn't one there.
Picnic area
Many tabled and untabled benches all around in shelter and out.
Oldest park in Australia with trees over 200 years old, with around 5-6 full size ground that is used for soccer and cricket depending on the season. :) have been living in Caulfield north for almost 5 years and I love this park for everything it offers, a place to just relax with a coffee next to the water and gaze at the birds or enjoy a sunny day with bbq and friends or a game of cricket during summer. I have enjoyed every part of this park doing every sort of activities and I could call this my 2nd home, I have tried to share my memories with some photos that I took during my visit to this park.
Caulfield Park is really lovely, with lots of different areas to explore. To the east of the park is the lake with ducks & geese, a rose garden, and plenty of picnic spots & children’s playgrounds. The centre of the park features various sporting facilities including a fenced oval with a cricket pitch, sports clubs, a pavilion, and a number of basketball courts, golf practice cage & cricket practice area. During the week there are lots of people walking their dogs here, as well as school teams playing sport. On the east side of the park is a children’s playground & picnic spots.
lovely park!! had a picnic with friends there, and one of them was able to get an ice-cream from the ice-cream truck. all i really wish is more swingsets not for babies, but maybe i didn't spot them. lovely scenery and lake as well, along with cheerful atmosphere :)
Playground
lots of playgrounds to play on!!! again, wish there were more swingsets not for babies, but other than that they were fairly fun.
Picnic area
we had a picnic near the lake, and everything was very scenic and lovely! the sun shone and wind wasn't harsh
A little gem that is very close to the city, this is a great place to bring the family. It has a lot of open areas to enjoy, which include BBQ's, activities for the kids and is big enough to go for a jog or a walk around. Has a Lovely pond area located on the western side of the park to enjoy. It also close enough to shops and cafes where you could pick up a bite to eat and take in the ambiance of the park while having a bite to eat. I totally recommend the park for a good family day out or just to enjoy by yourself.
This is definitely one of the better suburban parks. It's quite large and is a great place for a lunch time or weekend break, a sit at the small lake, or a stroll or walk with your pooch. There's BBQ facilities, table and seating, toilets, shade, playgrounds, outdoor fitness equipment, a walking path, a tennis club, a bowling club, as well as a number of sports fields. As well as being well laid out and well maintained, it's well located and close a number of good coffee shops. It's a fun and very relaxing place.
Love this park, especially walking around it at sunset. Best thing is the chess tables by the pond. I use to like the geese as well but they have gone to a better place now. Still cool but doesn't have the English park like look anymore.
Restrooms
Good access to restrooms and the cleanliness is good. They always have toilet paper and soap.
Dog-friendliness
Always a ton of dogs
Picnic area
So many good places for a picnic. They have a lot of tables to sit out so really great.
Quite a big park considering its in Caulfield. Lot of activities happening here and is busy. Parkings just about right, though hard on weekends. Walkways, cricket pitch, soccer area, playgrounds. However the restrooms were downright dirty. Otherwise a good place to have a picnic and spent sometime in the park.
Restrooms
We're dirty when we went to use it. Lot of people were going in and exiting immediately due to the uncleanliness.
Really nice local park with lots of facilities, e. g., tennis courts, cricket oval, children's playground, etc. Dogs were also seen to be running off leash and there is a running track around the park. There is a small lake and a little island in the middle of the lake that is home to ducks, geese and an Australian Egret. The area around the lake is nice for a bit of chilling out and watching the ducks swimming in the water.
Jump off the 3 16 or 64 tram at the corner if Balaclava and Hawthorn road, grab a coffee and food from any of the nearby eateries and just enjoy Caulfield Park. Great place for a lovely stroll or just sit and watch life pass by. Some cute sculpture, great kids play area and a lovely little lake and fountain. Get there early and head to one of Melbournes best bread shops at Baker Bleu but hurry, they sell out quick
A great spot for an outing. Parkland, ornamental lake, sculptures, shady areas, sports grounds, children's play areas picnic areas restrooms and more.
Playground
2 playgrounds are available suitable for all ages.
Dog-friendliness
A dog off Leash area as well as perimeter track for on leash walks.
Picnic area
Multiple picnic areas with barbecues and covered areas.
Lovely, spacious park with lots of beautiful trees. There’s a nice track that goes around the entire park if you would like a longer walk, but plenty of space to sit down (both benches and on the grass) if you’re just here to enjoy some time outdoors. Lots of parking here and there are toilets and playgrounds. Many birds by the lake. Definitely would recommend a visit!
I don’t think I have ever noticed Caulfield Park looking so green and vibrant. It was a warm but not stinking-hot Sunday in March. There were people out in the sun reading books on the grass. There was a jazz band setting up on the band stand. The ducks and geese were playing in the water. The bees where buzzing around the flowers . What a site!
This park has an open minded and freewheeling attitude. The birds feel it, the yummy mummies having a walk appreciate it, the Hasidic families get it too with their cute little soccer feels. Cockatoos seemed pretty happy too, and the trees were also showing off for autumn. All in all I’d say it’s a very generous and welcoming park, would be in it again.
Bridges, pond, geese with chicks, ducks with chicks, people of all ages sitting on picnic rugs and walking around, rotunda, sporting grounds, dog off leash area, and large trees. The park is well maintained and used. What a delight to visit here on a warm spring day for first time in 3 years. I enjoyed meeting my son here for a walk and chat very much.
Always a great experience walking my dog through the park with all the wild birds including yellow cockatoos,Geese, Ducks and water foul lots of history and monuments to see and read plenty of benches to sit dog toilet bags free and bio degradable tennis courts basket ball football all there to be enjoyed very clean and we'll looked after
What a beautiful park! It's like visiting the country what with its pond, ducks water features, bridges, etc etc, so so lovely. Good play area for kids but also fantastically they also have a sensory play area for kids who prefer that environment. Nice place for a meander or a picnic. Just sweet. Go for a stroll.
Wonderful park for all seasons, activities and occasions. Go for an early morning walk, a family picnic, a coffee with a friend, feeding the ducks, playing your favorite sport on one of the green ovals, running with your dog or reading a book, in a beautifully maintained grounds. Sanity incarnate …
The park is massive and always maintained. Dog friendly, community is great
Playground
Area is suitable for kids, and 3 areas are allocated for playground
Restrooms
Clean and well maintained
Dog-friendliness
Big space for dog to run around
Picnic area
Big space, family friendly
Large park with multiple ovals and lots of space for your dog to run around. Park also has rubbish bins provided everywhere and adequate drinking taps as well for both dogs and humans. The park is also maintained very well with most of the ovals/areas with nice soft grass and not so muddy like other parks
Super nice and chill park with tonnes of open space and greenery. Lots of meandering paths, playgrounds and a duck and goose filled lake. When I went a week ago the toilets were open which was great even though there was no toilet paper. Overall a super friendly feeling, vibrant park.
Love our local park such a relaxing area to be in and so well maintained by the excellent gardeners a true pleasure to stroll around or have a family picnic
Playground
Excellent safe play area for the kids
Picnic area
A zillion spots to choose from to lay the picnic rug
Beautiful park with lots of space. There's a pond for ducks, geese and other birdlife. An aviary and a bandstand. Exercise stations. Croquet and bowls. Large playing fields. And somewhere there's a cafe which I haven't found yet. After Fitzroy Gardens this is my favourite park.
A beautiful park for an evening stroll. There is a lake at the center which is very pretty. I really liked the fact that there is a portable public toilet which is very neat and clean. Almost 2 big soccer grounds and multiple small kids play area. Highly recommend this place.
Best place to get relaxed and soothe up your mind. This place gives you a positive vibes and diminish all your stress in just a minute. You can enjoy with your family and children anytime. Children get elated to see ample goose and other type of ducks. Simply amazing!
Caulfield park is a fantastic local and community based park. Features from soccer fields, more soccer fields, tennis training areas. The track around the park is around 2.3km, a great running track for some laps. Most importantly, many doggos visit this park.
Beautiful gardens, the birds and geese and ducks and pigeons and even the fish in the pond are all so massive! Place is peaceful and a good place to walk sit or picnic at. Very clean no rubbish left everywhere, toilets close by. Possums are friendly too.
Good facilities and plenty of space for various activities. Parking is pathetic so if you're going there for a larger gathering, get there early. (I was there for a motorcyle club meet so parking wasnt an issue. Plenty of people doing laps for spots)
Beautiful park but lack of lighting to exercise in winter evenings, very dependant on whether there is a game played on that day for the lights to be lid brighter. Nice to have an outdoor gym similar to the one on Elwood pier for a complete package.
I love this park! I walk with a friend from Elsternwick all the way to the park wherein we proceed to complete at least 3 laps, before briefly relaxing at Juliette cafe and then walking home. Wonderful environment for this sort of activity …
Lovely park, great place for a picnic and to bring the kids or dogs. Has a lovely water pond with a fountain with duck and birds for your child's viewing pleasure. My 2 year old had a great time. Just be careful the pond doesn't have a railing!
Very nice park for kids babies... It has a small lake with ducks... My baby loves to watch them... Then there is a small swing area for toddlers and there is a big swing area as well for kids... Has BBQ area... Can spend good 3-4 hour's easy.
Love the playgrounds here, good for children and a nice walk throughout the park. Be careful if you see the gooses, they can be calm by themselves but if they realised you have food in your hand they will follow and chase over for the food.
Very beautiful place to be. Lots of space for children to play and family picnic as well. My daughter loved looking at the ducks and geese and played in the play ground. It's very calm and relaxing and the sunset looks very beautiful.
Caulfield Park is a beautiful space surrounded by trees and gorgeous flowers. There’s also a lake in the middle of the park with too cute ducks! It’s such a perfect picnic spot, although unfortunately no coffees/cafes in the area.
the park is lovely, with plenty of things to do within park too. there were bbq places in many sites and also there is a dog friendly sites. there was a lake with ducks. would recommend this place for kids to old ages.
We broke the covid drought by picnicking at this great park with my daughter & granddaughter It really is something to be proud of. Beautiful trees, lake, fountain, picnic tables, seats and the resident geese & ducks.
Great local park. Beautiful walking path that traverses through a few main roads in the area. The pond there is filled with ducks and birds and the main grass area is a beautiful stretch of dog friendly greenery.
Love the scenery, very relaxing. I saw the playground, definitely will bring my son here once he arrive.
Playground
Lots to do for my 5 year old boy.
Picnic area
Cleanliness and huge table.
Loved coming to this park at first. But sadly there are some nutters that have nothing to do but attack peaceful people for no reason. Which resulted in me and my friends going elsewhere for better experience.
Great shady park with BBQ facilities and some seating. There are public toilets located up one end but they are the automated ones and can get a little dirty. Plenty of water birds around the lake and geese.
Beautiful playground with lake and amazing ducks and geese. Kids love it, however for the size of the playground there aren't enough toilets and they are certainly not clean. The council should address this.
Great space for taking your pups off lead and letting them have a run around. Lots of ovals and space makes for an excellent off the lead walk with pleasant company and well maintained grassy areas etc.
Love this beautiful park, had a good walk and it's amazingly peaceful even there are lots of children and people bringing their dogs in. The pond is the home of lots of ducks and swans!
Love this park. It’s so big and has so much to offer. It has lovely areas for kids to play on swings and a lovely pond/small lake with lots of wildlife. It’s also a great dog park too!
The best parks in the area as has a few different playgrounds with lots of tables. Cricket nets, tennis wall and a 2.2km jogging track. I've also never found it crowded which is great.
Amazing place to go out for a walk, jogging, have a picnic or even barbecue. There is a beautiful lake with quite a lot of ducks. A natural escape to relax and have a good quite time.
A good park for walking, jogging, family gatherings with a pond, two playgrounds, two bbq areas, toilets, drinking fountains and a small rose garden kind of spot.
So peaceful and quiet, even with many animals running around. Beautiful place to have a picnic, go for a walk, exercise and just hang out with your friends!

Love the walk, the trees and shade. The ducks are a great addition and I can’t wait to see the creepers on the new arbor when they are fully grown!
Great park all round. Plenty of off lead dog space, great areas for kids, separate dogs on lead only areas and nice gardens and lawns for picnics.
Amazing park that has a huge area with a lot of different options. Off Leash area is great to let the dogs run and is really well lit at night too
