Yesterday, Thursday, 30.11.2023 hubby and I bought two Rock My Soul meals from Chicken Licken in Newlands (one for each of us) but, going through Drive Through window no. 1, the window was unoccupied, window no. 2 was also unoccupied proceeding to window no. 3 we were advised to drive around again to get to window no. 1 but. hubby explained that both windows were unoccupied and that he was not going to repeat the route all over again. He was advised to reverse in order to go to window no. 1 but as we reversed, window no. 2 was occupied and the attendant took our order. We then proceeded to window no. 3 to pay for our order. At home, on taking two bites from my first piece of chicken I spat it out as it was terribly overspiced and totally unenjoyable. Hubby tried his and felt the same way and thought that the attendants deliberately overspiced our chicken because of of the unoccupied windows issue. He then proceeded to throw the chicken in the bin but I asked that we keep two pieces to return to Chicken Licken for tasting purposes. As it was already late, we decided to return the chicken the next day. I contacted Chicken Licken Newlands the very next day and the Day Manager stated that I return to them to be compensated with two new orders of Rock my Soul meals. On arrival at Chicken Licken, a female manager (Night Manager) confirmed that she was told by the Day Manager to expect us. I explained to her why we wanted to be compensated and asked that she taste one of the pieces of chicken, she tasted it, pulled her face and confirmed that the chicken was in fact overspiced. She later returned with a piece of chicken, asked that I taste it and put same in a pak with another pice and handed this to me. I was quite confused and asked her why she was only giving me two pieces of chicken, she said that it was because I only returned two pieces, I explained that we discarded the balance of the chicken and only kept the two pieces in order to prove that the chicken was in fact overspiced. She said that she would confirm with the manager through a call Anyway, I waited for the manager to return after more than 30 minutes and asked one of the attendants to find out what was taking her so long. The attendant explained to me that she said she would be two minutes as she was busy with stock-taking. I was shocked by her lie regarding calling the Day Manager but instead, was busy stocktaking while I was waiting for her for more than 30 mins. I was quite angry and demanded that that present herself to me and the attendant seemed irritated. She eventually came to the front and explained that she cannot do anything and that we must come back the next day when the other Day Manager would be there. I felt so angry by her attitude that I pushed one of the advertising notices off the counter and called my hubby to deal with the situation. She called the security guards to resolve the situation and after hubby resolved the issue and practically begged her to see reason, that the fault lay with Chicken Lickens overspiced chicken and both Day and Night Managers lied in assisting and compensating us and since we are senior citizens with a small budget, we were deceived and were only compensated with 4 small pieces of chicken. This was very disheartening to say the least as we not only wasted time but our money and petrol too and as our patience were tested by a bunch of very unprofessional , rude and deceiptful people representing CHICKEN LICKEN NEWLANDS.

So dissapointed as it was my first time buying,I was on fly in,the cashier was having stinking attitude could not even explain what in the menu,the workers need training to know what is in the menu and customer care as the pick point it was also a problem.I couldnt buy more dissapointed.

Cold and extremely salty chicken from the night before, cold chips, very slow service. Thats why the prevoius newlands branch didnt last. Dont bother going here or even complaining on their website coz they wont get back to you or do anything about it.

Huge fan of Chicken Licken but this one is definitely doing something wrong. On the 3 different occasions I’ve ordered here, the Chicken has been incredibly salty and unpalatable. Would not recommend.

Absolutely horrible!! Ordered from Mr Delivery. First off the order was late!!! Then when it got here it was ice cold and messed up as well as the was missing items in my delivery!!!! Please don't go here. There service is absolutely not the best and so unpleasant

Yesterday 04 December we ordered they accepted our order knowing very well that they are closed they didn't deliver but they took our money Newlands chicken licken I think it's time we sue you you keep eating our money with no delivery today I will visit your shop

Please hire more staff, the staff is under pressure especially month end times . Thus the long ques and waiting period to get your food. Also the orders are 60 % of the time wrong.
