"The park is so wide"
Park is always neat and they have recently been doing some work on it. Kids and dogs can run around and play freely. There are toilets. The Park has 3 entrances. Two on the street and one on the main road. There is a large slide for kids and a smaller one for tots. The park looks brand new! The train has been repainted. The monkey bars repaired. All other play sections have been repainted and maintained too. Lots of parking spaces and it's free. NO RANDOM YELLOW VESTS popping up from nowhere (the guys with yellow vests who "keep an eye on cars"). There is a person designated to look after the park, they are visible too. No dodgy activities as far as I know. But still, keep an eye on your children and if you can your neighbor's kids too.
The park is in a good location and was not busy or crowded when I was there. The design is good. It however ends there because the functionality is not as good. The place has toilets but they are locked, probably for security reasons, with no one on sight with the keys when one wants to use them. There is lawn but it is so badly kept that there's patches of soils all over the place. Maybe they are trying to save water, but why not remove then and substitute with something that will not need water? The Choo Choo train is still in good condition and painted.
Loved this park. It's really neat and feels secure the entire park is fenced all around. There are places to eat right across the road and also bp garage for snacks and drinks which makes it super convenient for me. My kid had such a blast playing around and running after birds while we chilled under the trees. Choo Choo Park has a small train, swings, slides, jungle gym, see saw etc and a big open space for them to run around and some sport the ablution facilities were neat and tidy as well. It was a good day all round
This park is an Excellent park due to the iconic train parked in the middle of the park this made my childhood. It has a fence around it's perimeter so no people sleep there at night. The park is also well maintained and has no rubbish lying. It also attracts a large amount of pokemon go activity due to its two Pokemon gyms one of them being an ex raid eligible gym. There is a large patch of lawn to play games and many park like playing equipment for people of a young age
The park is so wide. Kids can play in the field without any problem. There are double monkey bars, slides and others considering the ages of the kid. Kids love the red choo choo train in the middle of the park. Two ducks are available in the park. There are two gates. The park is closed at 6pm. Colcaccio is right across the street. I recommend this park. But the grass needs to be be maintained continously.
Great place for the kids to play. Nice picnic spots on the grass. There are two benches and a picnic table, as well. The park equipment though varied and interactive, could be better maintained. There used to be a public toilet available for the kids, they were locked up on my last visit. Entry is via two gates on the one side of the fence and one gate on the other side.
I revisited this park after after being out of the neighborhood for some time. It was nice to see the park well maintained. The paved path is a nice addition. The various swings, slides, merry go round, are all nicely paved underneath. Take a picnic blanket or sit at the bench sets. There is a fair amount of parking available.
A good place to take the kids to play on a sunny day. The only down side to the park is the fact that after a bit of rain, the ground tends to get quite saturated and stays that way for some time. There are swings, a see-saw, a merry-go-round and an old train that has been converted and made safe for kids to play on.
Such a brilliant little park! It is well maintained and fenced off from the busy street. Great location, right across the road from Belvedere Square shopping centre where you can park and grab a coffee at Vida before heading through to the park or a bite to eat after at one of the child friendly restaurants.
This is a nice park to take kids to play; usually not too crowded, with occasional birthday parties for kids. Some of the recreational equipment needs some maintenance though(swings broken and some of the tyres on the jungle gym are loose), and occasionally there are some homeless people.
Beautiful area amidst an urban jungle Great park playing for kids (safe and good condition swings, slide, choo choo train, see saw, merry-go-round and wooden and metal jungle jims. Mom and dad can chill in the sun or shade on the grass under the trees! …
My kids love the "Train Park". Usually we struggle to keep an eye on the kids because they're always running in different directions but here, there are quite a few benches to sit at and watch the kids play. Love that it's always clean. And toilets too!
It was a pleasant experience to be back there after many years. Many years ago we took our children to play there and now we took our granddaughter and she really enjoyed it. There is enough space to put in smaller swings though for the little ones.
My twin granddaughters had a great time at the Choo Choo park as always. One of the swings was broken and is a potential hazzard as sharp metal was protruding from the rubber tyre seat. Hope it gets sorted out before we go back again …
Good place for kidz to let loose and parents to catch up with a close eye on their children. Food can be acquired with minimal hassle and cost nothing. Just bring everything you need and don't leave anything you didn't find on the premises.
Choo-choo park was alive with young kids with their parents or carers today! This is a safe space and the playground equipment is quite well maintained. And of course there is that lovely old steam engine standing in pride of place!!
The park is wonderfully maintained and has rules about when it's opened as well as the use of the park. It's usually closed at 6pm in the evenings. It's a great place for the kids to play off that extra energy!
I love this park, particularly because you will never find poop on the grass, so very toddler friendly. caters for the toddlers and much older kinds as well , big space for ball games and freebie throwing.
Such a cool little park.nicely enclosed awesome spot. View of the mountains. Close to woolies opp for a quick snack or picnic treats.the kids enjoyed them so much that they didn't wanna leave...
Park is slightly being neglected it could do with some love. I don't think it's that difficult to give the park that gets used by majority in the neighborhood and outsiders a bit of love.
My 2 year old son is crazy for trains, and seeing one much bigger than what he is used to was mind blowing lol. One issue though, the grass, plants and trees need some serious attention.
This park is a wonderful place for children to play and adults to relax. Fully fenced for safety. Great play equipment for older and younger children. Lots of space for running around.
Lovely park...just the big slide does not make one feel safe for a 3 year old. So the babies obviously runs there to want to climb...and that is tiring....but the train is the best!
Space and open park with ample play park thingies for the kids, many with rubber. This has a toilet block that is kept clean by an attendant even it it requires repairs. Good access
Nice and clean park. Little activities. Could do more with some more. Neighbours complain about parking area. They bought these homes knowing they living opposite a park.
A popular and safe (fenced) children's Park which apart from the usual playground equipment, has a vintage steam locomotive painted bright colours, as its centrepiece.
This park is not bad. The grass was a bit long though. Also, I wouldn't advise you to go alone because their are weirdos constantly walking in and through the park
Place to take your child for some relax time or burn off the extra "energy" they bolted on. Has enough place to kick a ball and swings to keep the young ones busy
Newly refurbished and well maintained park. Be sure to bring a picnic baskets and don’t forget hats and sunblock. Lots of space for the little ones to play
Clean, spacious, quiet. A good place to relax, to organize one's thoughts, to bring the kids. It saw it been maintained/painted less than 6 months ago.
Clean park and well maintained park with steam engine train that stimulate young minds to day dream about Thomas the choo choo train,Choo! Choo! …
Only 2 gates into and out of the park so very secure and safe for kids to run around. There was a bergie sleeping there but she was super chill.
This Claremont landmark is a pleasant spot for kids to play. Besides the engine and playground equipment, there is also a spacious grass area.
Lovel for kids on sunny days. Shops across from street to buy ice cream or have a good lunch. Not so huge that you can lose your kiddies.
A really wonderful and fun park for children and adults alike! Well maintained! Clean and a large well kept field as well as play area.
Some graffiti on the train and the grass was quite long - not ideal for a toddler's short legs. The benches could use some TLC too.
It can be such a nice little park, But unfortunately when we decided to go, The grass were super long, and just didnt look great.
Our first time was quite okay, variety of things for kids to play on, toilets was closed but other than that my kid enjoyed it
Train has just been nicely repaired to bright red and black. Nice open park, with new jungle gym and also open space to run.
A pleasant park and we had my son’s Nerf Party there. Trees provide plenty of shade and the park was in clean condition
Grand children enjoyed the park but it sorely needs an upgrade as well as upkeep. Not many people on a Sunday morning.
Very peaceful an my son enjoyed himself on the swing, didn't want to get off was on it 4 at least 40 minutes ☺
Action required by council to monitor and remove childless vagrants and grown adults from kids play equipment.
The kids love it, a huge field, a train and other usual park attractions.. swings, jungle gym, merry go round
A nice neat, quiet and safe place for grandparents, moms jr housekeepers to take the little ones ♥️✔️ …
Great for kids , love that the fence is up all around so your kids can have a little freedom to run around
The park is great, but there are still people who let their dogs off leashes in the park with kids around.
Gates need some tlc, one does not have a latch to lock and grass needs tending. Otherwise nice and big.
Very safe park and variety of park stuff for kids. Only thing missing is rubber floors for extra safety
Nice bit of green space on a busy road. Ideal for young kids who love climbing all over an old train.
Nice big park with lots of sunshine. The park is well maintained too with a real life train (partly).
Great park, with lots of open space and play area for children. Kept clean and locked at night.
Safe and secure. Large area to run freely. Plenty of equipment even when the park is full.
Secure not a lot of exists and you can watch you kids even thou they will keep you busy
Great open space for kids to play and parents can relax while watching over their kids
My children enjoyed this park in the 1970s and now my grandchildren love going there
It's an all time favourite since my kids were toddlers now I take my granddaughter.
Perfect if you are looking for a new attraction for the kids. Dog friendly as well.
I am impressed with the maintenance of the grass ,keep it up, the kids loved it...
Kids always have fun here, play areas and open fields for running and ball games
Safe place to play with kids , just that there is no public toiles
Excellent park, pity that people let their dogs run loose there.
Great park for children. Lots of space and well kept park.
Very nice park to take the kids. The grass needs to be cut
Great for the kids but still need to keep a watchful eye.
Park nicely upgraded awesome time with my granddaughter.
Its a nice place for the children to go and play
Beautiful park for kids to play. Kids love it
Great park for the kids to run around …
Nice park. Grass occasionally over grown.
Best park ever, kids always have a blast
