Oct 2018 - In summary - far from a fine dining experience. Avoid visiting the Cinnamon Bay restaurant at 5 Seasons. We visited as part of a breakfast promo. When we arrived, the remnants of the old D'Olive restaurant sign were visible, but there was no signage to indicate that we were at Cinnamon Bay restaurant. Fair enough, they might be new owners or doing a renovation etc. When we entered at 10:30am, the restaurant was EMPTY. Not a single person was eating there. This was alarming for what had been sold to us as a fine dining experience. Despite that, we approached the counter and asked if it was the Cinnamon Bay restaurant. The attendant joked and said it was 20km down the road and for a moment, my partner and i were relieved as we thought - silly us, we have the wrong place. But... it was a joke and we were in fact, in the correct location. It didn't get any better from here. We were offered juice, coffee or tea and when i requested pineapple juice, we were told they didn't know if they had any. When the food came out, it was nothing at all like what had appeared on the promo photographs. In the photos, the meals were served on boards (as is the trend now) with professional plating. Ours arrived on two different styled plates (not in a hip fashion, just odd plates) and the food was plated like it was dished up at home. Nothing exciting about the presentation at all. Add to this 2 x poached eggs that presented more like boiled eggs, untoasted white muffins and fatty bacon... it was less than a fine experience. In addition, no one came to check on us during our meal and when it was time for us to go, there wasn't a single staff member to be seen. No one at the counter, no wait staff etc. A lady from a function appeared from the function room as she was wanting some water and both of the water jugs at the bar were empty. She literally shrugged her shoulders after waiting for a few minutes and still, no one appeared to help her or us. We have had much better experiences in restaurants in Bali and Thailand and would never have predicted such appalling standards from a supposed fine dining restaurant - see screenshot of their webpage.

Service was appalling, kitchen staff had no idea of time management. Although we arrived 15 minutes prior to two other tables compromising of 6 & 5 persons, and we ordered our meals prior to them their meals came out first. When ours did come to our table only half the orders came and we still had to wait so much longer. The service was so bad that the kitchen staff prepared three vegetarian breakfast when only one was ordered. The manager then advised us that they would bring out the meat portions separate. Fair enough, but even then kitchen staff could not get that right. We just about finished the vegetarian breakfast when the chrizo portion came out, then a further 5 minute wait for the bacon. Simply disgraceful. As for the coffees and table service. Not once did the coffee attendant acknowledge us neither did the wait person. Definitely had been well groomed on "make sure you don't give eye contact to patrons". When finally we got the wait persons attention wanting the menus she looked at us as "what you want the menus". When the coffees arrived (wrong orders) we had to ask for sugar, then had to get her attention again to ask for spoons. We then asked for salt and pepper which was found but not placed on our table but a table next to us. To add to the pain we went up to the bar coffee area and asked for two beers the chap got them and placed then at the other end of the bar counter, no where near where we ordered them. We then had to ask for them and he says "oh you want to take them to your table". He definitely had no intention of moving from the coffee machine. To make matters even more upsetting there was a total of four tables occupied the whole time the restaurant was open. One of those tables had finished and left before our first order of coffees had arrived. And this folks happened on Mothers Day, our booking was for 10 am for 10 people. This is the second time we have been to this establishment and it will definitely be our last. I gave a one star rating as the female manager was so apologic.

I attended the restaurant today and was extremely disappointed. From the moment you step into the restaurant the lack of the staff and dozens of flies is terrible. I have given this restaurant one star but don’t believe it should even receive that. They had one staff member to greet guests, take orders and make coffees. We waited over one hour to receive our breakfast meals and they were terrible. From the presentation to the taste what an experience. Don’t bother wasting your time or money. We also received a coffee stone cold and the waiter did eventually make another one but it wasn’t his fault he’s expected to complete all tasks. I never write a review but needed to let people know as I have never in my life had an experience like this. I did complain and the waiter advised management wasn’t available so kindly refunded $19.00 but honestly they should have paid us to eat what was served. Just disgraceful.

Terrible. No signage. No staff. No service. Went there for the breakfast special and to help support one of our local businesses. The 'restaurant' is cold and uninviting and the few staff who were there seemed inexperienced and overwhelmed with having to take care of two additional customers in addition to the eight or nine who were already there. We were told to sit where we wanted and then left alone for the remainder of our short visit. After waiting unsuccessfully for someone to bring us the menu, we fetched them ourselves. After waiting a further ten or fifteen minutes for someone to take our order, and seeing another table of four, who came in after us, place their orders, we got up and left, never to return. Very very poor all around.

Had dinner here with my husband for our wedding anniversary. We were so impressed with the food, the entree’s were delicious and cooked perfectly. Our mains came out straight after entree and were just as good. Very tasty! The waiter was friendly and polite. Highly recommended!

We visited during the christmas holidays and they seemed to be short staffed however the Chef was great and came out to serve us as well as give us recommendations that turned out to be very good ! It was our wedding anniversary and we happened to be the only couple in the restraunt at that time , the Chef made our evening by treating us to a complimentary dessert which was thoroughly enjoyed !

Magnificent meal and exceptional service. The stand out waitress is Loren, very accommodating, went over and above with service. Chef, I take my hat off to you sir! You are a superstar in your kitchen. Thanks again for another amazing meal. I have guests coming to visit and Cinnamon Bay is at the top of our list of venues to dine. :-) Thanks again Loren & staff. Although the place has average or negative reviews we had a good experience. food was good n service was nice too although it did seem front and kitchen staff did struggle a bit with order turnaround but our attendant was still wearing his customer service smile. I was not expecting fine dining nevertheless came out getting my bucks worth.

Every meal I have had here is awesome. Breakfast or dinner, they are all great.

I gave three stars as my friend ordered the breakfast which had bacon and for religious beliefs she doesn't eat it so she asked for it to be replaced with something else and the waiter said they cannot do it....so she went without the bacon...put a sour taste in our mouth as it's really simple to accommodate!!!

Absolutely disgusting service and food, owner came out at the start to talk to us and told us he will take care of our table with good food .....BIGGEST MISTAKE of trusting his word ....he sent us 3 entrees which were very generous portions

Very arrogant staff, told them the booking tool was not working on Groupon, rang the number no one answered , told them we have been advised closing 12pm when we went before. while we were there 11.28pm and they told us off without even

Horrible. Waited close to an hour for breakfast. Food was average at best, came out cold. Would not recommend at all!. Watermelon served with French toast tasted like raw onions

The service was great, very friendly and the food was excellent. Will be going back again to try more of the menu ... which didn't overwhelm you with too much to choose from.

Very ordinary. Unripe avocado, cherry tomatoes, stale bread, bread and muffins warmed up - not toasted, dirty glasses and crockery. No signage. Would we go back? No!!!

I was here for lunch and everything is great, they tend to be very busy at dinner so it might a different experience. But the food was really good.
