"At approximately 3:55-4AM on Thursday, August,4th at Gerrard and Parliament Toronto,Ontario I entered a Co-op taxi and it dropped me off at Parliament and Bloor at approximately 4:10-4:15AM I had left my phone inside and he left quickly"
I had a conference in Toronto recently and stayed in Courtyard Marriott at 475 Yonge St., Toronto. On the day that I left, at about 6:30am the front desk helped me to get a cab which was waiting outside of the hotel for business. Everything was fine with the cab driver when the staff member in Courtyard Marriott asked him to drive me to the airport. We did not talk much on the way to the airport. But when the airport is approaching, I asked him how much he charges for the trip, he told me $80 Canadian dollars and cash only which made me in panic since I did not carry so much cash for business trip. I told him that the trip cost $70 from the airport to the hotel on the day that I came to Toronto. Also, I never faced the situation to only pay cash for taxies since all taxi companies accept credit cards. By then, he became very rude. After a few arguments, I felt that I had to check how much cash that I have and found $60 Canadian dollars in my purse. By now, he told me to pay $60 Canadian dollars plus $20 US dollars. After checking on internet, I showed him that the exchange rate between USD and CAD is 1:1.344 hence $20 Canadian dollar should be abut $14.9 USD but he argued using rude words and I paid $16 USD in the end. He did provide me a receipt but it's impossible to tell his name. I took a picture of the car using cell phone. It shows Cab number A1132. Apparently, this cab driver had no professionalism when working, is rude to customers, and only take cash for no records. Using such driver will only ruin the reputation for the taxi company. I
I will never ride with this cab company! A couple weeks ago I was driving in the north of the city on a residential road, going slightly above the speed limit but still a reasonable speed. A cab driver from this company was right on my bumper for quite some time… this is while road conditions are wet as it was raining. Then as we are going up a blind hill, in a SCHOOL ZONE, this driver decides to zoom past my car in the opposing traffic lane! Some of the most reckless driving I have ever seen by someone who’s whole job is supposed to be responsible driving!! I called the company to report this driver, only to be told by the customer service representative that “unfortunately there’s always people like that at every company”. I was floored that they were trying to excuse a driver’s not only poor but DANGEROUS driving! She then said she would transfer me to a superviser after I informed her that was an extremely inappropriate response. There was no answer from the supervisors phone, I left a message and asked for a follow up. It’s been about two weeks with no response from this company. I will never be using or recommending this company to anyone who values their safety while driving.
I was picked up at my brother's home in Etobicoke at 4am on Dec. 31 to go to the Toronto airport. The driver was on time, which I thanked him for. However, it went downhill from there. First of all he did not know how to get out of the neighbourhood onto a main street; I had to guide him out. Once we were out onto a well known main street, he seemed to have no clue as to how to get to the airport (I am not from Toronto but I had a basic understanding of north/south and where the airport was). After going what I thought was the wrong way, I asked him if he had a GPS ... he said yes. I suggested that he should use it. It seemed to take him awhile to figure out his GPS and, when he did, he started driving in the direction opposite of where I knew the airport was. In spite of the concerns I raised, he continued to drive away from the airport, eventually pulling a U-turn. I ended up paying $32.75 for what was likely a $20-$22 ride. I did not tip him. I think it is fair that taxi drivers in any city should know how to get to their airport. I did not have a good experience.
Terrible service. A whelchair taxi had been pre-ordered for an elderly family member and at 10 mins after the pick up time with no cab in site I called them. Was put on hold for 10 minutes only to have them tell me they had no wheelchair taxis available and had no idea when they could get one there. No apology and when I said that was ridiculous they hung up on me. Same thing happened a few weeks before this. When we called for a pre-arranged pickup they said they were sending a wheelchair taxi. After an hour of waiting I called them again and they said they had no wheelchair taxis available and had no idea when they could get one there. No apology again. We called Beck in both cases and they were able to get a wheelchair taxi within a short period of time. Do not rely on Co-op if you have elderly riders or person with mobility issues, they obviously do not care about them. I would say to Co-op do not offer wheelchair taxi service if you can’t provide it!
At approximately 3:55-4AM on Thursday, August,4th at Gerrard and Parliament Toronto,Ontario I entered a Co-op taxi and it dropped me off at Parliament and Bloor at approximately 4:10-4:15AM I had left my phone inside and he left quickly. So when I contacted my phone the cab driver answered and pretended that I was calling the wrong number on my own phone he did not want to admit having my phone and kept yelling at me for no reason and I told him I would contact the police, in which I did and made a report and called the beck company as well and they also reported a phone loss. Just shocked at such disgusting behavior! Also the police looked up my phone and even noticed it was in the area because the cab driver didnt even turn off my phone he kept it on. So when the police were looking they could see where he was around. Hope he learns a lesson one day
Co-op driver was beyond rude and didn't follow the rules of the road. On the ride to my appointment the driver started off by making an illegal turn after I'd told him not to go that way, as you can't do a left legally I'd told me. He didn't care and did the illegal turn anyway. Then the Co-op driver didn't drop me off at the right location for a doctors appointment I was attending in a location that I'd never been before. The cab driver realized he'd not dropped at the right spot after I'd gotten out of the cab and told me to walk to what I thought he'd said 602 Collage St. which was not far from the cab. It was actual 622. He yelled out the window of the cab at me "Do you not understand English, I said 622 not 602" and drove away. I will never ever use Co-op's services again. It's Uber or Lyft if I have to go anywhere in a cab.
I took a red and yellow Co-Op cab outside of a restaurant on King street in Toronto. The driver did not put on the meter and when I asked why not at the end, he insisted that it was $40 to take me less than 2km away. I gave him $15 and he yelled at me to get out of his cab which I did and he drove off without me closing the door. My phone was on the seat and he picked up and disconnected, then refused to answer any calls to it or messages I sent on my find my phone device website. I was tracking him around Toronto for hours until the signal was lost. Customer service didn't seem to care and dismissed all attempts to contact the driver. Terrible and dishonest experience. I will never use any cab again because of this. Uber and Lyft from now on and I will encourage others to do the same. So disappointing.
EXTREMELY bad service. If only i could give 0 stars. Waited 1h and 45min for a wheelchair cab.Called after 30 min of waiting and the cab company said they didn't even have a driver yet, and to give them a few minutes. After 1h of waiting, I called and they said that he was on his way. I ended up waiting for another 45min until driver finally arrived. The cab was filthy! the windows and seats were disgusting and clearly not regularly cleaned. The driver drove me to my destination, but the entire time he never had his meter on so I was unaware of what the price was gonna be till the very end. Never using this cab service again. Absolutely terrible waiting time for cab and poor seating environment. I highly recommend any other transportation services but this company.
Unreliable service. I called for a taxi and the agent says the driver will be there 5-10mins. I didn’t get a text. I called after 15mins and another agent said just wait for another 5 mins. I said I didn’t get the text of anyone who accepted my booking and she said sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Another horrible 20mins, I called again and asked where is the taxi driver that I booked and the agent then said they were trying to call me and I didn’t answer BUT I DID NOT RECEIVE A CALL! Liar! Then he somehow booked me by this time and I received the text. 45mins of waiting for a taxi is not acceptable. Instead of me trying to reach my destination quickly, it became the other way around and worse. Arggh! Never again!
I've had to take a cab this past week because of injury and can't drive. The drivers are adequate but I have called ahead twice to arrange a time pick up and both times have been over 20 minutes late. Don't use if you have to be somewhere at a scheduled time. Had to edit this review after ordering a cab and being told 10 minutes. Then calling back 15 minutes later and being told cab is 6 minutes away and then calling 20 minutes later. Being told they got another driver and he is 7 minutes away. God knows if this one is going to show. If my employer wasn't paying for this fare, I would definitely go with Uber or Lyft.
After refusing to pick me up in front of the building that I was dropped off at by same cab company. I explained I was a senior with mobility issues, he didn’t care, and I had to walk half a block and cross the street to get the prearranged ride home. The driver said he didn’t want to have to pull a U-turn to get to where I was waiting for him in front of the building. Also,The driver would not stop looking at and texting on his phone, to the point where drivers behind would have to honk to get him to pay attention! Made wrong turns. Ended up touringCAMH for a while. Terrible experience !!
Used coopcab from toronto western hospital to king and Jamison the driver yelling so loud I couldn't hear my daughter on the phone nor her me so I yelled loud enough for her to hear me tell her I'd call when I was out of cab. Then the driver stopped at differing and told me to get out, that was at king and dufferin I told him again Jamison he said no here itold him again he continued on and continued yelling in his language I had such a headache I told him to stop paid and got out and walked. Never coopcab again cab # 1721 40 min.ago
Crooked Cabby operating with stolen CO-OP Cab Rooflight but no Taxi Cab plate ! White Toyota Camry [CWXB 014]. Punjabi driver has a Kid sidekick who puts on a Sob Story that Co-Op Driver will not accept Cash. Kid Sidekick will hand you money in exchange for using your Debit Card. Punjabi driver has skimmer to steal your PIN code when told to pay fare. CO-OP CAB Dispatcher refuses to answer any questions when contacted. CONCLUSION: AVOID CO-OP CABS ! Take the LAW into YOUR OWN HANDS if threatened by this Punjabi Scammer !
Daughter had critical need for an early morning taxi, so I told her to install app and pre-book cab the night before. Ordered cab and app said driver being scheduled. Presumed this was normal as it was hours ahead of the pick-up time. Pick-up time arrives and no cab. App still says driver being scheduled. Automated answering service with no human or customer service at cab company. And they wonder why taxis are a dying industry? Will never use this service again for the rest of her long lifetime remaining, nor will I.
Absolutely horrible service. The driver’s constantly stall for time, after being assigned to you. Chilling at dufferin mall parking lot with their friends. Some times accepting and completeing other fares, while theyre assigned to you (not realizing you can see their gps position on the app, as they lie to you when you finally get in the cab 30 minutes later). The drivers will also ignore you directions and take you on the worst possible routes, to run up the meter.
We took a Co-op cab a dozen times during a week holiday in Toronto. Every cab we got had a 100% professional driver, expert at maneuvering in dense traffic to get us where we wanted, and courteous. Whoever setup their computer voice recognition system gets zero stars, but after finally getting through to a real person, we were offered apologies and advised to hit 5 as soon as the computer jabber starts to get a human being!! Flawless service from then on.
Was recently in Toronto and ordered Co-Op cabs a few times. They were cheaper than Uber and Lyft and arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. Their app and messaging system could do with some improvements. Eventually, I called and the order was placed right away. There was just one driver who took a phone call but that was I was getting out so no big deal. Overall, pretty decent experience and I would use them again in TO.
Co-op cabs managed to rescue me and my wheelchair-bound mother after we got "scooped" by a bad actor from City Taxi who said he was working for Wheeltrans, but wasn't. The City driver shook us down for $45 and left us stranded without a way home. The City driver also tried (but failed) to inflate the fare but taking a wildly round-about route. By contrast, the Co-op driver was very courteous and professional.
The man driving this cab was working with a young man doing a scam. The kid pretends the cab driver doesn't take cash only cards. He promises he'll pay you back. The driver confirms he can only accept cards. He switches the cards! The put on his masks saying there's nothing that could be done because no one can see their faces because of the masks. I hope police is able to catch them soon & he's fired.
This is not acceptable!!!! The guy cut us off on a highway and pushed the brakes wright in front of us, thank god for good brakes and my wife quick reaction. After my wife honked at him, he switched the lane shows us a middle finger and does the same cutting in and breaking!!!!! And then takes off speeding and cutting other cars. I think he was trying to make an accident for insurance.
Called for a disabled senior, after an hour some rude man from the company called to say he didn't have a van and covid ruined everything and can't just pick a car out of the air. Told him he was rude and he responded he's been doing this for 40 yrs and hung up. Maybe time for him to retire lol. Thank God for Uber. Never a wait time and always pleasant and clean. Disgusting service.
Cab showed up claimed he didn't have trunk space after dispatch being told I was at a laundry mat driver left and claimed he would send another cab with trunk space after 20 mins more I call the company back dispatch tells me the driver said he waited and no one showed when I told the dispatch he was lying he clearly didn't care poor customer service I would not use ever again
The taxi driver was on his phone and doing 140 km. He turn into my lane without looking. Almost touching my car, I honk to let him know. He gave the finger and was trying to purposely run me off the road. I called the manager, they didn’t care about my safety or concern. This is reckless driving and a criminal offense. This driver needs to be fired ASAP.
The driver had the Taxi disgusting; dirty !! He also had the front seat full of garbage and with some metal strings holding it cause it was broken . The driver was rude ; disrespectful and very unprofessional. As a woman riding with my children I felt highly unsafe for various reasons: - the condition of the vehicle , strange behaviour of the driver .
Took a cab from Mississauga with All star taxi. Took 30 min and a 50 dollar bill . Tool aCOOP taxi back 20 minutes later and was charged 70$ and 10 min faster. The guy was trying to flat rate us for even more money and the meter started to go faster.dont trust them.use Uber. Half the price. Post of tou agree!
So this guy was at Union Station & asked where we were going! When we said Chestnut Street, all of a sudden he was waiting for other people! Apparently Co-Op cabs are only interested in taking you to destinations that will bring them larger fares! Giving the city of Toronto a bad rap. Shame on you Co-Op cabs!
Worst customer service...hung up on 2 times after asking where is my prebooked taxi. No taxi showed up after speaking to a person the day before to book it and had to push my 89 yr old grandmother in a wheelchair for 20 minutes to an appointment in the dead of heat. DO NOT TRUST THEM...UNRELIABLE AND RUDE!
Booked a cab thriughbtheirnknline portal. They sent a message saying that a taxi was on its way. 30 minutes later, I call in to ask what the ETA is and the cab had been cancelled. By who? Idk but apparently they didn't think it would be important to send me another or notify me that they were cancelling.
Absolutely terrible service. I only use this company because they have a partnership with my work. At least once a month if not more a taxi just won't show up, yet everytime I call the representatives tell me the taxi is 5-10 minutes away. Very unreliable service. Would never use willingly.
No good service, not care about your time. I booked for my mother dispatch told me 15 minutes wait time. No show up, again called they said 15 to 20 minutes more . I called third time they are still searching for cab . I then canceled the service and called Beck taxi they show up on time.
A very professional, capable driver. So courageous in terrible driving conditions. Grateful for Anthony's attention to detail. Caring for each passenger thoroughly. A refreshing change from other services I have experienced. This person deserves to be promoted. His car number is 578.
Dispatch is rude and incompetent. Could not fulfill a request and tried to blame me. Then said ride requests are not always guaranteed and it’s based on availability. Would have been good to know at the time I called to make a reservation. Would have made other arrangements.
If i could give zero, I would….. I was on hold for 7 minutes just to place an order with the operator.. just pathetic. This company needs to hire more people to answer calls. Just pathetic... YOU NEED MORE VAN’S………… on the road……. Smarten up.
Attended a corporate party with taxi chits to make sure everyone got home safely. Taxi cabs failed to show up in a timely manner. Still over an hour of waiting. Only one showed up only accepting passengers going to Mississauga. Unacceptable.
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE I ordered a mini van the night before to go to Union Station at 1:00 PM. Shortly after 1 I called. They said they were looking for a driver. Still no one by 1:15. Gave up and had a good Uber ride for about the same price.
The driver of the cab is driving a wheel chair accessible van while on the phone as he comes to a complete stop on danforth avenue. He is obviously distracted and i would rather walk than get into that van with that driver.
2 cabs drove by me after the Kendrick concert, one refused the other was charging me double the going rate. An absolute rip off. They don’t want fares unless it’s fare enough for them to make $30 or more. Just call an Uber
Beware of unsafe taxi drivers. The driver hit my car didnt give information , police was called and he was told to go to reporting center and he never showed up and my insurance company say his insurance is not valid.
Called and tried to book a cab but couldn't due to their terrible automated system that can't understand a word you say. English is my only language and I don't have an accent, that's how I know it's terrible.
Saw this car on the street driving so awfully. Should not be allowed to drive cabs if your driving is that awful. M Yaqoob pls learn to drive, merging lanes are not for you to overtake cars during traffic.
BUYER BEWARE!! I WAS TREATED TERRIBLY BY THIS COMPANY. I WILL NOT GO INTO DETAILS, BUT THE MODERN FASHION OF UNACCOUNTABILITY IS EVIDENTLY HARD AT WORK IN THIS COMPANY. THIS IS WEST JET ON THE GROUND.
I ordered a cab on St. Patrick’s Day after having no luck for an hour with the rideshare apps and Co-op was the only company that pulled through and sent a cab within 5 minutes!! 5 stars!!!
the worst ever. the taxidriver who took me to the airport August 6 , 2022 s a thieft . Changed the money and accepted the 60 only in cach . To theif others , maybe his company. NEVER. EVER.
Slowest service in town... Took 30 min to get a cab after ordering. Was at Bluejay way amd front street at 1245 pm on a Fri.... Always takes forever when ordering with this company!!!
Driver was very late ,almost missed my appointment ,jumped out and left a yellow cloth bag with valuables including my phone . Very distressed no answer yet about the loss .
This rating is based on a cab driver that cut me off and nearly hit me. I called the company, asked for a manager and he was very professional and apologetic. The manager was great.
Called for coop taxi because I had company chit...5-10 waiting then 5 mins then search then abandoned...called again and 7 min..cabby only complained about coop the whole $20 ride
I take these cans with clients sometimes and they have the worst drivers. Not all but these were the worst black males I’ve ever encountered, and never wish to do so ever again.
Horrible people over the phone! No manners not speaking English properly customer service is dead at this place, honestly just give up and close down! DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!
I called them on a very busy weekend day for them and dispatch customer service was excellent. I didn't mind waiting and the cab shoewed up before the expected wait time.
Awesome, city, I lived here with family nine years. Beautifully decorated. Down town is convenient for streetcars and buses. Every few minutes there is a bus.
Becareful of driver A839 he will charge you a $10 trip to a $25 trip and asking for tip amd I usually take trips that would cost only 10 and he charged me $25
My cabby Shariff (cab # 01013) is a fantastic guy! Kind, courteous and a excellent conversational person. Highly recommended him, the bet can driver I've had
Cab 01923 was amazing. Did everything possible to try and get me to medical appointment on time in a safe manner. Courteous, polite and very professional. .
I have had nothing but good experiences with this cab service. They are so nice!.The only thing is there isn't alot of drivers so you have to be patient
Booking was easy and efficient, pick up was so so, driver didn't seem to know the terminal enough. The driver's skill was also very questionable.
Coop is a good Taxi company. Very busy night before Christmas weekend. I had to get Able Atlantic/Maple Leaf because taxis were scarce.
When I used to travel with my big dog calling co-op cabs was not an issue. 90% of their drivers were professional and animal friendly
Cab 91 sat in front of my recieving drivewzy for 1/2 hr. Then the driver relieved himself on a tree on school property. Absolute pig,
Disgusting dirty cabs I Asked a driver to turn on Airconditioning, he said they don't have it and smiled at me. Ultra horrible cabs.
absolutely disgusting service. my mom is a disabled women and I genuinely was worried she was going to fall of their wheelchair.
WAY BETTER THEN BECK english speaking clear and reasonable. i have service dog and the had to wait, service was good thank you..
Its a really good experience with this cab company. On time, courteous and clear communication. clean cabs and timely service.
Not from Toronto. Told the cab driver the hotel I was staying. He brought me to a different hotel. My fault by trusting him.
Cab #127 pulls up takes a look at me shakes his head and drives off. No wonder people take ubers. Good luck with that
I called for cab for the 1st time in 4 years to give them a chance since I usually use Uber and the Cab never came.
Very old driver and dirty car, against taxicab's bill of rights ... Driver has poor knowledge in navigation..
By far my favorite taxi company, friendly operator and driver, thank for getting me safely to my destination
Cab was super fast to pick me up and drop me off late at night in the rain the call in service needs work
Forgot a backpack in a cab and didn't know what cab #. Called co-op and in 5 minutes I had my bag back.
I really enjoy co-op taxi. Very clean, it’s quiet (or not if you prefer) and always on time. …
Called for a customer. One came and picked him up, shortly after, a second one did as well. No issues
They don't blatantly discriminate against customers by not accepting rides. Way better than Beck
Co-op cabs is my go to taxi service in Toronto. Drivers are kind and get me from a to b safely!
The operator I spoke with was so very helpful and service was fast and efficient! Thank you
Service regularly refused in downtown by a single female rider, due to short trip or fare.
Automated dispatch system weird to manage and they were really busy cancelled the pick up
Awesome quick response and get the app and watch the dot on Google map drive right to you
I hated that it’s all automated. I had special needs and wanted to talk to a dispatcher
This is a great cab company if being stranded in the rain is your idea of a good time.
Fix your phone AI. It's truly awful, like you are TRYING to drive away customers.
Operator 114 refused to book wheelchair taxi in advance for medical appointment
Will never use this company again. Drivers that scam the public is disgusting!
Incredibly rude... I doubt the drivers are capable of even basic manners.
Horrible company!!! Don’t care about their customers or the environment!!
First time using it today driver was very helpful will use you guys again
Either them or beck in a pinch. No. like the prices are Co?op dative
Fast service, the operator was very nice taking my call. Thank you
I called for the taxi and it never arrived. :) Awful service
Great service... Prefer Co-op Cabs over Beck Cabs anyday
Excelente services Professional drivers Arrive on time
arrived alive and on time! what more can you ask for!?
I was told 12 minutes for a taxi, it was 35 minutes
Can A586 is driving without a rear bumper.
Worst drivers ever. Do better at hiring.
Usually great service; no complaints.
Awesome fast friendly service
