This is a place where I will never step foot in again. This was just a typical Saturday night for a bunch of guys wanting to go out for a good whisky and chat. We entered Cobbler at 1:30am for a last drink before we call it a night, thinking the bar is genuine for grown ups. The bar was still full of patrons at the time. As soon as we entered we ordered drinks (security guard happily took us in and bartender happily took our money) but as soon as we brought the drinks back to the table a staff advised the entire premises the bar is closing. Generally this is a last drink call therefore we picked up our pace and try to accommodate the request, and enjoy our drink as much as we can. Five minutes later a security guard told us the premise is now closed and have to leave the premises immediately. Add insult to the woe the bartender joined in and called us being uncooperative with abuses! We end up standing outside the premise with another set of patrons from the other table absolutely stunned by the incident. We were absolutely applaud by how the staff treat their customers with the utmost disrespect, I have never endure this type of insult in my grown adolescent. You shouldn't accept our business if you are about to call it a night, and you shouldn't be a whisky bar if you don't let your customers sit there and indulge on our drinks! It is a Saturday night after all!

We held my partner’s surprise 50th birthday party here on Friday night and I just can’t speak highly enough about our experience there. From the very beginning when I made enquiries, 2IC Kate made sure I was happy with all of the arrangements, answered any random questions I had and ensured that everything went as smoothly as possible from her end. When it came to the venue, I was thrilled to see we had been given a really cool seating area upstairs that held our group comfortably. Throughout the evening we were waited on hand and foot by Kate herself, and nothing was ever too much trouble at all for us. Watching her multitask was a marvel and her knowledge of whiskies is also pretty impressive. Over the course of the evening, each and every one of our guests came up to me and said how much fun they were having, what a wonderful vibe the venue had…how it was an amazing ‘hole in the wall’ and how great all of the staff were. I couldn't agree more. There are now more raving fans to add to Cobbler’s list, and we'll all be back! A big thank you to Kate and the staff at Cobbler Bar for making my partner’s night truly memorable.

what a incredible bar!!! the vibes and atmosphere of this bar is amazing, dark, mysterious and relaxing!!! absolutely loved coming here~!! hidden within west end south brisbane, you won’t be able to see it at first as they close their curtains and hide from the outside, almost disguise themselves looking closed but inside is the most coolest bar i’ve seen~ vintage looking, leather seats, cool dark lighting~!! lovely lovely cocktails!!! a bit pricey though, both were $19 each. But the atmosphere was amazing and so vibey!!! definitely will go back again one day!!! staff are so friendly too!! bathroom is also inside which is nice~!! love their entire theme and vibe!!!

We hosted a 40th birthday party at Cobbler on the weekend for a friend and I could not fault this venue or the staff. From the beginning of the booking process Curtis was friendly, able to accommodate our requests and the night ran smoothly and was enjoyed by all. Fabulous drinks menu and the ability to BYO our own catering was a huge advantage over other venues. Curtis checked in with me multiple times during the evening to ensure everything was going well. The bar staff were fun and vibrant and clearly enjoyed working there. I highly recommend Cobbler. Thank you for looking after us.

This place was absolutely divine! We had organised a girls night out and booked dinner in West End. We then went in search of a place to have drinks before dinner, we found the Cobbler and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere of this bar is indescribable, such an ambiance about the place that it just makes you feel at home. The selection of whisky's as well as any other thing you can think of was extensive. The staff could easily recommend a drink with just a few descriptive words. Sooooo good that we returned after dinner for more drinks! Definitely check it out

I went as a group for their cocktail making class. Mitch, out bartender, was an excellent guide and fantastic human being for our few hours kicking back on the comfy stools. We learnt the history of the cocktails, techniques on crafting delicious drinks, and had a go based on the instructions and techniques shown. Was a great time, with excellent company, and awesome service. Definitely recommend letting the bartenders work their magic for drink selections and food choice.

Attended recently and was shocked at how uninviting front of staff were, especially considering the place was empty. Ridiculous prices compared to elsewhere, for anything out of the ordinary that you would go to a place like this to try (eg. $60 for a nip of a $250 bottle of whiskey) and hard to get any service, plus no explanation upon being seated of how to even order. One of the Bar tenders was friendly and fast to serve once ordered. Planned on spending the night here, stayed for 1 drink only. Was tempted to walk out.

This is a great bar for people who appreciate or would like to learn to appreciate whiskey and cocktails. The bar staff is knowledgeable and friendly and always open for a chat. The cozy candlelit interior and a ceiling-high range of whiskeys give the cobbler the vibe of a bar straight from the heart of Edinburgh. If this isn't enough of a reason to give this place a visit, there is live jazz music on the weekends and a fußball table upstairs. This place is frequented by a lovely crowd that appreciates anything done well.

I think Cobbler takes the spot for the number one whisk(e)y bay in Brisbane for the sheer number of bottles offered! The atmosphere is very ambient and the service is first class as all the staff are extremely well versed with the offerings! It’s reliably opened until 1 am Sunday to Thursday nights and until 2 am Friday and Saturday nights ( really translates to 2 am Saturday morning and 2 am Sunday morning!! I really love the leather Chesterfield couch to recline in as well! I highly recommend this place !

Fantastic service, even short staffed. Took my dad there for his 60th to try something different, and although they don't do a whiskey tasting, they curated one for us within a budget that we set. Staff was amazing - friendly, very knowledgeable about the spirits and checked in throughout our stay to see if we were enjoying ourselves or needed anything. Cocktails were delicious, whiskeys were picked to my dad's preferences, and thoroughly enjoyed. Cool vibe, cool music, cool aesthetics.

Wouldn't bother returning. Welcomed in the door and was told it was table service, but by the third round were having to flag down passing staff. Saturday night but by 10pm it wasn't real busy (we were there from about 8pm til 1am), the quieter it got the harder you had to work to get waitstaffs attention. Spent $500 between two people but apparently thats not enough for good service. Two stars for the menu. If you are cashed up, love whiskey and have low expectations give it a go.

Second time I've been to The Cobbler and its just as awesome as the first! Huge range of cocktails and whiskey plus such a chill fun vibe. All the bar staff were really friendly but Ive gotta shout out one particular member of the bar staff Josh. He knew EXACTLY what type of cocktail I was after, he was super friendly with everyone, so fast and the cocktails he made were delicious. 10/10 for Josh especially! Went here the other night with co-workers. Cocktails most were good, wasn't a fan of the one I ordered though could have just been poor choice on my half. Only downside was I left early and on my way out I paid for my cocktail. was informed in the morning that the staff charged my friends for the drink a second time claiming I hadn't paid for it even though I had, for $20 drinks that is not a mistake that should be happening. Otherwise great atmosphere.

Everything is cool about this bar; drinks, bar staff, the drinks the lighting. Except the music. I don't understand this is not a night club... why am I listening to boom boom boom while sipping on my fine whisky. Please please change your playlist cause that's the only reason I'd think twice about coming down to you. Look, I understand if the majority of your customers enjoy the boom boom in thier ears then by all means ignore my review.

Cannot rave about this place enough! I was looking for a guided whiskey tasting in Brisbane, messaged their Instagram account and was put in contact with Curtis. From there, he basically orchestrated the perfect whiskey experience for us by combining our preference for bourbons and our budget with their epic range and expertise. We left feeling so spoiled. Amazing service, great ambiance and delicious whiskey. My friends held our first whiskey club here last night, and every round involved the Wonderful Sam bringing us a few recommendations to smell and choose from, each meeting our brief of desired flavours. His information on all them was amazing (how does he retain all that info?!) and he was very attentive for the 4 hours we were there! Highly recommend!

This place should have no bad ratings, easily 5 stars. Incredibly knowledgeable staff (Jack and Luke where working the day in question), they will help with any recommendations and questions you have about stock. Robust selection of whisky from affordable to high end. Great venue and layout. The only reason you won't like this place is if you don't like whiskey... which sucks for you I guess.

What else can there be said about this place. It's amazing! This place drives me on in my quest to become a functioning alcoholic. I love how you can rock up, not know what I want and then the bartenders bring me an elixir I desired when I walked in that I had never heard of before. Just tell them what flavours and base you like, and voila! Just hope they get some of the rhum agricoles back.

Wow what a treasure this place is! The bartender was just AMAZING. She knew her stuff and was a pleasure to deal with. She made me this amazing mocktail as I was designated driver and it did not disappoint. The gentleman that took over from her was a great conservationist and we thoroughly enjoyed his company. Amazing selection of whisky and great set up. Definitely a place to return to.

This place is just amazing. As soon as you enter the room, you know it is going to be a special night. When the door closes behind you, the real world finishes and comfort, class and enjoyment are upon you. The staff know how to deliver exactly what you are looking for, even if you don't know what that is yes. So do yourself a favour and loose a few hours in this whiskey lovers paradise.

Cobbler is a great place to visit to try a range of single malt whiskys and some amazing cocktails. The service here is always prompt and really friendly. The whisky list is divided into regions, has tasting notes, and is now coded to indicate the best whisky to try based on one's experience. I really like this as it helps new comers to the whisky journey to have a good experience.

I went to Cobbler tonight and service was amazing from the moment I stepped in was offered a table and the guy working, not sure if it was the owner or bar staff but he is incredible. Offered a wine tasting before buying based on our preference and very attentive service throughout the night. The atmosphere is amazing too! Will definitely be coming back. Best service ever! I was lucky enough to come here for a few quiet drinks after a long hard day in work and was met by a fellow Irishman named Ciaran. His understanding of cocktail making and knowledge was amazing to listen to and he was more than happy to answer any questions I had! Hidden away from the typical West End crowd, come here for a more sophisticated tipple. Whisky. Whiskey. And everything else. Constantly evolving cocktail menu, BYO food. Birds Nest Yakitori will deliver to your table. Book the upstairs area for a function like no other. One of the best collections of whisky, whiskey and any other spirit you could yearn for.

Very nice venue. Impressive spirits menu, and delicious cocktails created by friendly bar staff. I was here on a Sunday night and they had some pretty crappy hip hop music playing so loud our group couldn't even hear each other speak. I felt like it wasn't very fitting for the vibe of this place. That would be my only critique of an otherwise perfect venue.

If you want a whiskey bar Cobblers is the place. Sam, our bartender, was very imformative. We had the best time, and tasted a very delicious Kilchoman single malt whiskey. Young distillery, with a smokey aroma. will def be back. Agree with other reviews though, music needs some adjustment. Great layout, and I want every bottle behind the bar . :)

A friend and I visited last night looking for some good cocktails and a great atmosphere and Cobbler delivered. Amazing music selection, really unique drinks and staff were happy to help us choose when we had difficulty picking from the VERY extensive cocktail and whisky list. Not pretentious, really welcoming and we can't wait to visit again.

Had a great time here on a busy Saturday night. The was a huge selection of cocktails to choose from, the staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We sat upstairs in the two seater chairs which were uncomfortable and that is the only minor thing I can mention. I would definitely return and would recommend to others.

Lovely decor, although the window treatments could do with an update. Very good cocktails with lots of flavour and friendly, energetic staff. Was a little bit noisy for us with the music being a bit overbearing in such a busy place. Would work well as more of a speakeasy with low music. But the young adults seem to love it.

This one's a fantastic little haunt with a wide selection of both whiskys and cocktails. Bartender was attentive, charming and very knowledgeable and made suitable recommendations based on what the group wanted. We tucked in until late, and it's quite a mood to enjoy when the candles are out and the curtains are draped.

Amazing selection of Whisk(e)y and other options if you desire it. Great staff who you can talk to and i promise you they will teach you something you didn't know about the various drams. The location itself is also very nice it has a relaxed old world feel to it. you stepped right into a classic bar in a very good way.

With a wide selection of both straight spirits and cocktails I would be surprised if you are unable to find a drink that you enjoy. If none of the selection seem to stand out the friendly staff are more than willing to help you find something to suit your taste. A little pricey but good value despite that.

This place is my new “go to” bar! The cocktails are so new and exciting and the place is just a whole vibe . Massive bonus points for the super friendly staff and if you you’re lucky enough to have jack working behind the bar he will really look after you! (He’s a bit of a cutie too )

Have been going to cobbler for about 3 years. Always had a great experience with staff as they have always been very friendly and professional. but all it takes is one person to be.rude and a jerk to people when finishing up last drinks at closing time to have a bad experience.

Without any doubts, favourite pub in Brisbane. Intimate, cozy, chic and stunning. Every time that I have been there, I have been enjoyed of every detail, service, drink, music, decoration. I love it and I highly recommend to have a drink there with friends or with yourself. :)

Cobbler bar is either the best or second best whisky bar in Brisbane. I can't decide which, but they're brilliant. HUGE range, very knowledgeable staff, very cool atmosphere. This is a good place to try something new, or to introduce someone to the wonderful world of whisky.

Really cool cocktail bar who know how to make the classics properly. Had a really good sazerac and the perfect manhattan was very well balanced. Very relaxed atmosphere and we had a great table up on the mezzanine level. Will definitely come back when next in Brisbane.

I like to go here when I'm feeling swanky. The staff are super knowledgeable and can tell you the hidden secrets of each and every alcohol's soul (probably alcoholic's too). Would recommend if you envision yourself in a hipster James Bond film.

A part of the death and taxes family, it has the feel and flavour, but is a slightly more casual and rustic version. Some nice whiskeys of their own merit that you can't find at doctor gimlet or death and taxes. So a definite must visit.

Amazing cocktails. I had a function upstairs and it was such a good night- great music, great atmosphere. We had a dedicated staff member, Jack who was such a legend. He was on top of everything which meant we could just have a good time
