I visited because I follow a foodie on instagram and I been there 5 years ago with old owners and I didn’t like it then, with new owner I think this place needs some love to grow, $70 for a big platter of meat is so worthy of visiting. However, there is some things to work on . Point1: They are a bit under staffed, because there are only 2 guys to do the drinks, seat ppl, and order food which they were absolutely amazing but it’s not worth it to overwhelm them and confuse guests. Just put a set of rules and ppl don’t care they will follow. Make it a rule at the door and online that please all orders is at the bar, thats is understandable service with how many ppl staffed. No will complain, but when it is in the between of yes we will take you to your seat and sometimes get your drinks but you can get the drinks yourself other times is a bit confusing but fixing with all orders at the bar makes it easy for everyone. Point2: There is no menu printed on the tables so you get bit confused and then jump on your phone for the menu. Just confusing but not the end of the world but still easy fix, print and laminate leave some on tables and can add orders at bar. Clear and fair rules. Point3: Add a note to say take a seat and order at bar, so it’s reinforces and it is clear for ppl who are walking in and they can sort their seating make it less ppl at the bar that trying to figure out the system of the place. Point4: Food! It was good amount for money value, however it arrived 1hr or more later I’ll explain in point 6 why, our T-bone was wayyy overcooked, I mean dead but the other steak and chicken on the platter were absolutely delicious (med-rare steak and delicious) (very tender chicken-I would love it a bit more cooked like one 1min more its very dark to see how much its cooked) but it was delicious. The veggie were unfortunately not cooked, they were meant to be grill and they were barely cooked but I ate them so it’s not that bad but you definitely can do an amazing job just like that one steak ❤️. Point5: I love that the owner is working hard too if I’m not mistaken, he was delivering food and drinks, even cleaning. I appreciate that effort, they maybe under staffed but that could be fixed with more revenue and some local support. These ppl wanna give us something good and they are on the way there. Point6: The challenge is a bit confusing, I did order it a day before like the website says and I sent a form online for reservations. I feel from what I experienced it might be better that you call them and plan everything on the phone, because the form didn’t really get received. I arrived on time thinking it’s very organised/strict about time, we did waited 20min in line to the bar because there’s no clear sings to say sit and order at the bar, afterwards they told me they need 30min for the platter to be cooked I was disappointed because I was celebrating my partner’s birthday and I had plans. However, They do provide you with a free birthday shot if you show your ID and it was very cute looking shot.

I have to say what a venue. The bar manager and staff are Amazing and the service is second to none.... Lets not forget about the killer cocktails and shots on offer too. I was there with a large group on Saturday night just gone when a lady decided to carry on quite disgustingly and abusive towards staff when advised they currently had no Olives but could use olive rinds. Even after abusing the staff and demanding free drinks as compensation for no olives, the Bar staff maintained professionalism, smiled and took that in their stride as they continued to offer fantastic service to our group and other patrons. 5 stars is definitely not enough but its all we can give. Keep up the Great work guys and our group and many more will definitely be back to enjoy the Ambience and hospitality that The Fourth Monkey has to offer. See you again soon

Went in expecting a cocktail bar, but finding it a pirate themed tiki cocktail bar was a lovely surprise. There was a bit of confusion around our booking, but the staff were more than happy to accommodate our party and assist us. I was also expecting usual light bar snacks, but the meals were really excellent. Tasty, hand-made meals, huge portions, with unusual but super tasty spices and sauces. Would go here again just for the meals. The house cocktails were fun and unique. The meals and drinks were also well priced. A subtle point, but worth mentioning, I really appreciate the music was a nice background volume, conversation was easy and no one had to shout to be heard, it seems like this is becoming rare. Went in not quite knowing what to expect, but we had a really great night in a unique little venue in the heart of the West End. Will absolutely come again.

The Fourth Monkey Cocktail bar is an amazing spot! I stumbled across it one night in West End and I am now hooked. It has the perfect vibe and has numerous nooks and areas throughout the bar from the front and back to chill out in with your company. The mood is set with fairy lights, cool and interesting decor, low lights and real quality seating areas that really makes you feel relaxed and comfortable and almost in a tranquil garden outside. The staff are prompt and friendly and the cocktails are presented fun and are so yummy! My favourite is the Strawberry Cheesecake cocktail as it tastes like the real deal in liquid form. I’m excited to dine in next for my birthday celebration and enjoy the menu of food and cocktails together. Perfect place to celebrate, relax and unwind or even start or finish your night at x

I'm praising this place because cocktails are FANTASTIC, beautiful environment but change the songs, for the love of Christ Almighty, PLEASE change the music. Guy Sebastian - Battle Scars has its moments but this is not the place... and like, covers of well known songs by randoms is not the music. Please experiment with something more modern. This place has BANGER drinks, match the banger drinks with banger tunes. If someone on the team knows music, LET THAT HOMIE BRING THE VIBES. Please and thank you, Sincerely, an endeering customer. Booked a reservation for a night out, Stanley was really accommodating and very nice. Food was great, as well as the drinks although a bit pricey for their cocktail, it was really good! highly recommended: Manchurian Gold, Curse of the black pearl, and wet p*ssy shots. It would be nice to have a little bit of light inside the area as it was a bit dim. But overall, would highly recommend this place for a dinner date out!

Absolutely amazing secretly hidden away but surprises every time I visit. Food is 5 star dining at mates rates. Chef knows what he's doing, everything's made by hand and a step above the rest. I recomend the haloumi and nachos, but if your a meat eater the eye fillet or the T-bone is melt in your mouth with the hand made mushroom sauce. Grab yourself a cocktail or 5 like myself and give this place the support it deserves. Look forward to our next meal

We held a networking event here for about 60 people. The booking process and communicating with Stanley was super easy and convenient. They were also very accommodating with our requirements and set-up. Jerry served up some delicious platters for our guests and Jacob did a fantastic job mixing the amazing drinks and looking after us all night. Ambience was perfect with many areas for our guests to mingle and chat, including various seating options for those who weren't keen to stay on their feet all night. Will definitely be back!

We had my daughters 21st birthday party at The Fourth Monkey. It was perfect - we couldn’t have asked for a better night. About 85 people fit in the courtyard nicely. The food is oh, so good with very generous portions and the drinks are delish. And all very well priced. The staff are friendly, fast, and there to make sure everything is just right. Thanks guys for a great night. You rock!

My favourite bar in Brisbane! The chef is super friendly and makes the best food! I had the Garden Salad and Fried Cauliflower, it was absolutely AMAZING! The bartender was helping me out with an out of the menu mocktail and it was DELICIOUS! Loved every song in the playlist! Was absolutely wonderful, Thank you!

Did not eat here so can't comment on the food. Cocktails were delicious, nice bite to them, yummy flavours, everything a tiki bar cocktail should have. Very happy. Now been back several times. Food is good and great value. The atmosphere top notch, especially out back by the fire pit. Yes a fire pit. Strongly recommend.

Have been here quite a few times even though I dont drink. Have talked with the owner and staff and used all their rooms on different occassions and can say it is sn exceptional place for meeting poeple for a quite meal snd drink or having a night out in a group. Well done everyone.

Had a great time last weekend with the boys. Was surprised by the serving size of the feast. Definitely recommend ordering that to share between 2-3 people. The single serving streaks were also very nice. Good atmosphere and a nice fire pit outside that suits the weather. Looking forward to their beer on tap next time. Definitely will go back again.

They have done well to change the run down part of history to a fun new venue with a little something for everyone Whether you are looking for somewhere to let loose or a place to chill and have a quiet drink in the candlelight, this is definitely the bar for you. Stanley at The Fourth Monkey made everything go super smooth for the lead up and on the night of a private function we organised. Oh my god.. How do I even begin with this place! First of all the drinks here are literally to die for, second of all the overall vibe and atmosphere is phenomenal!! My friends wanted to try something new so we found this retro-vintage place and we will definitely be coming back!
