I can’t believe I have to go all the way to Coles just for the little shops and only to make my son happy obviously then the Chinese lady at the self serve cashier gave him the minis bag, my son felt it straightaway that it’s a banana which is his 3rd one, he asked if he can change it anyway he hasn’t opened it, and she wouldn’t allow it ! If I only knew, I could’ve shopped in aldi or woolsworth which is very close to my house & don’t have to force myself in spending $30 when I only need bread. What is wrong with exchanging a totally unopened plastic while we are still at the cashier ? That’s ridiculous! I won’t shop at Altona gate till this promotion is on and seeing that Chinese woman so inconsiderate to children!

Not a bad Coles. They have some good service and open up manual lanes on demand. I have yet to wait in line even during the busiest times. The good: Fresh food, some of the best I've seen. It rivals the Richmond coles on swan. Excellent staff. Nice deli. Check out is one of the best in Melbourne. The bad: The layout is silly. You have to walk extra far to get a cart for no reason. Putting the carts one direction in a walkway is a little foolish. The fresh veg is very hit or miss. They have serious competition a floor below and as a result have cheap and often good fruit and veg, that said, a floor below gives you far better quality and the same or lower cost.

I had a pleasant experience shopping however an older looking gentleman with curly hair named Obaid Muhammad ruined said experience with both his vulgar smelling odor and unkempt facial features which darted into my soul as I walked through the pasta aisle. Not only did he not refer to me as the Smite King but knowingly ignored my presence as I passed him. I feel ashamed that an employee such as him is not able to work at every Coles in Victoria as an important functioning team member and daring innovator. I would like to see this employee get a raise and be promoted as soon as possible and become a staple of Coles Altona Gate. Kind Regards. Smite King.

Visited the store on a Thursday evening at 7.30pm store looked a bomb had hit it million trolley filling trolley's scattered in every aisle kids trying to fill the store getting in the way of shoppers nightfill kids standing around talking and.joking around and then when I get the the checkout 1 register opened a customer being served with a full trolley of items I'm waiting at the service.counter being ignored by another girl.further down a register girl not even.interested in.serving.me.or even an acknowledgement poor service all-round won't be.shopping here again

The staff in this store had no idea when I asked them a question about pricing for an item. They kept telling me to ask someone else, and then the next person asked me to ask someone else! In the end I got my answer after asking 3 people, which was shocking! Hien at the self checkout was rude and abrupt and kept pushing the customers around. It appeared like she was working in a fish market! Definitely won't be shopping here unless I had no choice!

All in all, coles has heaps of friendly team members and best managers. The customer service is pretty good. Liked shopping at Coles Altona gate that has additional products and pricing is pretty reasonable. Well appreciated to all managers and staffs. Big thumbs up to everyone working at Altona gate that bring a positive vibes to all customers.

Even as I changed my mind about a bag (chose cooler/chiller bag midway through) without hesitation asked if I’d prefer my items in that bag and packed them perfectly, great work and overall great experience thank you …

Smaller version of Coles store. Friendly staff. Efficient staffed checkouts. Keep hold of your trolley, particularly near the checkouts. The floors are uneven. Gate Shopping Centre has had a large turnover of stores after the 2019/2020 renovations. Coles and Audi have remained on site.

Very poor customer service this morning 26/6/19 @ 8.05am. Small Older Dark hair man working on the only open register. No greeting, didn’t offer me a bag (even through I clearly needed one). Barked the price at me and didn’t say good bye. How hard is it to say hi and give a smile?

Your shelves are empty and no one can tell me when they will be restocked. Mum & i do our shopping fortnightly to coincide with our pension. If the virus doesnt kill the vulnerable, starvation will! Please put some procedures in place for those of us that are not panic buying.

I waited until the weekend to do the shopping, when the shelves are half empty, knowing that it was double stickeez weekend. The docket said I was entitled to 12, I got 5. Now I realize this may not matter to everyone, but it matters to me as I struggle to complete a set.

It was generally ok. The staff at check out was great. Still, some items didn't have price tags... the inside was too cold for me, I was shivering, plus the milk I bought still had days to expire, but the next day it was spoiled and turned into curd in the refrigerator!

Self serve check out is always busy. They have their own dedicated "card only" check out then take over half the cash checkouts and turn them into card only. Which is unfair. Should keep them as cash check out as people can choose with cash or card when they get to it.

Standard selection of Coles items, with a few additional specialist sections - like a halal meats section and a decent South Asian frozen items section (naan, alu tikki, samosa). All the staff I've interacted with her have been super friendly and helpful.

Coles at Altona Gate is a huge shoppers venue.. It carries all sorts of wonderful produce, at a very competitive price.. The staff are friendly and courteous.. It caters for a wide variety of taste and the products are of an excellent quality..

Tom who was on self service check out tonight is so polite. My guy said hello how are you and goodbye have a nice night to everyone that walked in to the self serve. Dosent hurt to be polite. Keep it up Tom. It’s the smalls things mate

Brought a kg of chicken thigh Went off with in 1 day of purchase. Called to make complain and replacement And was told i needed receipt. Why would i keep a receipt for a product that should not have gone bad. Not happy. Poor management.

Purchased two pack margarita roll from bakery. WHY DOES IT HAVE PINEAPPLE ON IT YOU ABSOLUTE SPUDS?! Margarita is sauce, cheese, basil, your roll has sauce cheese and pineapple. The homeless guy in the carpark didn’t even want it :(

Absoutely disgusting brought potatoes began to cook them n they were going off before my eyes am tired of buying fruit n veg to go off so quickily very disheartened my review is very poor with good reason

8am I went thru. No specials had been priced & old stock was being passed off as new. The staff appeared very tired & grumpy. The only good thing was they had the white chocolate coconut donuts!!

Coles you need to pickup your game, came to the store at 1115pm doors locked, there is a sign at entrance "opening hours 7am till midnight" WTH Trade under your advertised hours!!! Frustrated

Coles is a rip off. Price gouging theives. Pay farmers a pitance while over-charging us. Only discounts products you dont need or force you to buy 2 to get discount. Miserable experience .

For what it is,a suburban shopping centre, it is fine. Plenty of parking and a good range for a weekly grocery shop. Usually not very crowded and has a small food court as well.

Have plenty of stuff. But the shaved ham from deli when you try and use you can't even pull it apart, it's just mash.. lack of reasonably priced lollies. Otherwise just a Coles.

You average medium sized Coles when it comes to selection and prices. Like most arrangement of items in the store is unpredictable and items are hard to find.

Had a query, so phoned thinking it would save time. Rather then going in and they didn't have the product in stock. Tried a few times and had no answer.

I shop at coles. Went to altona gate coles. So messy, empty shelves. Couldn't find certain items. Walked out with 1/4 of shopping. Won't be back.

Decent Coles but with a wonky floor. You'll get a bit of a core workout wrestling your trolley around the aisles.

Decent medium sized Coles. I love that the back wall has all the confectionary. The bakery section is huge!

A small but very good Centre, there are a good variety of shops. Good parking, and friendly shop keepers.

Smaller store that has a limited range. Good for a quick shop but not the large shop.

This is quite a big Coles and they generally have enough staff and normal checkouts.
