"An exceptional experience at this store"
I've been shopping at Coles Lynbrook for years now. The second time I used the 'Direct To Boot' service at this location, I tried ringing the phone number provided on the wall multiple times, while in the special parking space for it. It kept going to an answering machine type setting. Having to go in and collect my grocerries defeats the purpose of it. I chose direct to boot because it's supposed to be quicker and I'm trying to reduce my exposure to others, with covid going around. I thought I'd try direct to boot with them one more time, as my first experience was good. Just got home and put grocceries away. 4 things missing from order. I choose not to substitute items if they're out of stock, but this time I didn't recieve an email saying that these items were out of stock/I wouldn't be getting them, and I was relying on those things (choc's etc) for Easter with family today. Had I known, I would have gotten these things elsewhere earlier in the day. The lady I spoke with over the phone, who apparently packed my bags, was rather rude and defensive. Basically said that I should have logged into my account to find this (I've done many direct to boots at various coles and woolies, and I've always been notified via email or text if something isn't available). I also checked my bank account, and was charged the full amount. She said 3 of the items were out of stock, so when I asked about the 4th item, she said it must have been put in someone else's bag. She was going to leave it at that. I had to ask what she was going to do about it, like seriously?! She asked if I live far and I said I don't have time to come back, nor should I have to waste more of my time and petrol for Coles' error. She huffed and asked for my address to drop them off (don't have faith they they'll arrive in time/or at all). Unimpressed with the service, and my family and I won't be shopping here anymore. Order# 142805598. I'd encourage the manager to lisen to our phonecall (if recorded) to improve customer service, should they not wish to lose any more customers.
This coles Lynbrook does not uphold the vision, purpose or strategic values that Coles claim are important to their brand. Recently the store trading hours have reduced to shut at 10pm according to the signage, however they are refusing customers entry past 9:30, if the shops shuts at 10 then why don’t you allow customers into the store? I was lining up to pay at at the checkout when a couple tried to enter the store around 9:30- the service worker stopped them and refused entry, they pleaded with the worker to let them in however they were still refused entry, to which they left and the female worker that dealt with the couple turned and laughed with the female worker serving me, like it’s funny that the couple missed out? The attitudes of the employees were also highly unprofessional, a customer has reasonable expectations to feel comfortable in a shop, I don’t know if it’s lack of training or just coles hiring people without common kindness etc but you definitely do not get a welcoming vibe from this store. Whilst travelling through the store, it is hard to find a worker that’s not standing around talking instead of working- I’ve been to this store on multiple occasions and not one worker has ever been able to help point me in the direction of what I’m after. Can’t say I’ve ever experienced poor experiences through any other supermarket. I’m not one to usually write reviews but my opinion is that coles need to train the Lynbrook coles staff to put their customers first and show more positivity, as it seems no one wants to be there and they’d clearly rather finish 20 minutes early rather than allow customers in, leaving customers unsatisfied and without service.
I shopped at Coles Lynbrook on Sunday, November the 17th around 9:30 am. I was shocked by the self-check-out service, by a lady (I'm assuming she is Indian descent. I'm not trying to be racist, but I didn't get her name). This lady told me in an awful tone that I need ''common sense'' to go to the normal checkout because I have ''too many items''. I was not informed in any way through signage or staff that I needed to go to a normal checkout if I had too many items. I told the lady this, but she kept on insisting I should go to the normal check out, however, I was half done with my items so I told her, ''okay thank you I will remember next time''. Not only this, but when I was having troubles with my checkout computer and asking for help, she would be aggressive while putting the items away in frustration and telling me to put the items in the trolley in a demanding tone. She also said that I needed to bring bags instead of using a trolley to put all my items in. I always bring my bags, but like anyone who is human forgets the bags in the car. I have a big family, and they eat a lot hence why I have so many items in my trolley. I usually use a trolley then transport to it to the car, so I can put the items in the bag. I also find this easier, as I can put the items in the bags properly. Again, the way she told me was in a tone that really seemed like a put down rather than educating. I couldn't handle the way she was treating me, so I left. Never have I experienced such cruel customer service by Coles Lynbrook. You have lost a customer and I will no longer be shopping at a place that treats me in a way I feel disapproved with my purchases.
I am very appalled at the poor customer service displayed by workers in the self checkout section, not to nit pick, but the middle aged lady with short hair. This is not the first time I am experiencing such outrageous behaviour. I feel scared and anxious to even self check out because she comes off blatantly rude and abrupt. I have worked in retail and mind you, we are not allowed to treat customers the way she treated me. She does not talk nicely, is rude when the machine needs a assistance or Bag check and I’ve noticed she’s been like this to others as well, including my own dad. Her tone of voice when trying to assist someone is not comfortable for me. Something needs to change, customers should not feel anxious when they go into a grocery store. I would like to say, hats off to those amazing workers who are super nice and welcoming to customers. I will not shop here anymore if things do not change. Thank you, God bless.
An exceptional experience at this store. I was infact i guess lucky enough to witness a group of teenage boys shoplifting, i had no problems in speaking with the young lady running the front end and informed her of these boys, i then continued with my shopping. When I was infact packing my trolley after purchasing my groceries the young lady came and thanked me emphatically for my information and that with my input I had stopped a lot of drinks etc from being stollen. The lovely girl on the register also thanked me and she also made sure that my bags were not packed to the point I would have problems once I had left the store and she infact offered to load them into my trolley. I unfortunately did not obtain these girls names but I attended the store FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 11TH and the time I was going through the register was 7pm-7.15pm and this was the register at the cigarette booth. I will definitely return
Terrible experience with click and collect! I was going to pick up orders from them but couldn’t find the click and collect bay, as there wasn’t any sign or it wasn’t clear. I called them and they said come to the front. I went to the front door and they made me to go to the store and then I had to take the full trolley to my car, while click and collect means they have to bring the stuff to your car! I’m pregnant and asked them if they can help me to take the trolley to my car just outside the store, I was surprised to see that they were not happy to do that really and the guy took the lighter trolley and left me the heavy one!!! I was really annoyed with this behaviour and wasn’t happy at all, he even didn’t help in putting the stuff in my car, and just left once he did the lighter trolley.
I usually have no issues with this store however this mornings customer service interaction was absolutely appalling. I don’t think you could find someone more miserable and that didn’t want to be there than the older lady named Lynette. Other than a few grunts behind her covid mask this morning is all I got from her. No self serve check outs open at the time I was there, so had to deal with the poor excuse of customer service displayed. A 15 year old with no experience would be have been more pleasurable to deal with. Maybe give the shift to someone who actually wants to be there, as opposed to someone who’s going to grunt at your customers instead of the universal hello we are all accustomed to.
Wouldn't recommend going to this Coles unless you feel like missing half your shop. Walked into the store around 7:30pm on a Monday night and the Deli was already closed- as any human, I thought maybe they were on break. Shopped and came back around 7:55pm, had a worker walk past me multiple times not telling me whether or not it was open. I finally went to the service desk to ask someone myself and at 8:01pm she told me the Deli closes at 8pm....? Flat out lie. Absolute waste of time. Highly recommend training your staff to acknowledge customers. When I worked at Coles 3 years ago, as long as you were in uniform you would have to address the customer, interesting to see how quality has changed.
the customer service is so great that a female supervisor /customer service staff (lady), with a black scarf/turban on her head does not greet customers at the check out even when the customer wishes she does not reply hello, sometimes she is busy speaking with her native place male customers The staff boy who kept trolley in the trolley lane whistles on Ladies. Please consider women as your mother or sister whereas some customer service staff are not like that they professionally greet customers or watch but don’t greet anyone .To some good customer service staff I dedicate song to you, you are like diamonds in the sky shine like a diamond. Well done
Coles was Founded in 1914 in Collingwood, Melbourneby George Coles, Coles operates 807supermarkets throughout Australia, including several now re-branded BI-LO Supermarkets. Coles has over 100,000 employees and, together with rival Woolworths, accounts for more than 80 per cent of the Australian market. Coles Online is the company's online shopping ('click & collect' and home delivery) service. Between 1986 and 2006, Coles Supermarkets was a brand of Coles Myer Limited, later Coles Group Limited, prior to Wesfarmerspurchasing Coles Group in 2007. It became a subsidiary of Coles Group again after Wesfamers spun-off the business in November 2018.
As always I can always find staff on the floor when I need them to help me, or point me in the direction of finding the goods that I am looking for at the time. Although you are a small shopping centre I must say that when I go to the larger stores of Coles i find it hard to find staff on the floor at times. This is the reason that I shop at Lynbrook Coles should I need assistance from staff as they always seem to be out there on the floor. Your staff are helpful, kind, patient and polite towards the public. I will continue shopping here at Coles in Lynbrook because of the good service that you apply to the public.
Bought bread from Coles on the 25th of April 2022 around 1pm when they opened due to public holiday. Bought a couple things for a house get together and some bread. When slicing the bread on the same day I noticed the bread was full of mold, so I quickly went to check the tag and make sure the bread was baked that day. Which it said that it had been. Either Coles is lying about when they bake their bread, or I don't understand how a freshly baked bread can be full of mold. When calling to complain they offered to refund my $4 as if it compensates for the terrible experience.
I was shocked to see poor cleanliness standards by a team member who appeared to be a middle aged woman of islander appearance with short hair at the self serve check outs. She did not wipe down the screen or the eftpos machine prior to customers using it especially during a slow morning and when I required assistance, I copped rubbish attitude from her despite being polite. Keep the young ones on the checkouts seeing as these Middle Aged ones don’t have it in them anymore to serve and assist appropriately.
The customer care is always very rude when there is price board placed wrongly. It is there mistake for not putting the price properly. When a clarification is asked at the counter they just reply us back that we have see it properly. There is no need of becoming rude in answering on the face. Politeness is appreciated. I like lynbrook coles sometimes the customer care makes me to avoid to go that stores as it spoils my day. I would request the management to take up the issues.
If I need anything this is my goto place before I go to the gym and start my day. Weather it's a handful of banana's or eggs to cook later. It's as simple as grab what you need on the go and pay at the machines. Quick and easy, in and out. Only fall back is they close at 8pm so if you need anything after 8pm Mon to Fri, I suggest driving a few kms down the road to Hampton Park Woolworths. They close at Midnight..They have saved me on many occasions. Enjoy the experiance..
Customer service are just disgusting. Rude and not friendly at all. Especially the older Indian lady (not meant to be racist but there are 2 older lady there today, didn’t get her name as I don’t even want to see her face) at the checkout. Store was shocking today, grocery section are all empty, everyone is so busy stacking up drinks. You could barely walk near the drinks and chips aisles. Lots of hazards everywhere, none of the staff cares
We Forgot to take our token and coin for our shopping trolley. We have done this before and staff have a given us a returnable key to get a trolley. This time we were rudely told that we needed money and she would need complete a transaction on eftpos for $1 coin. Are you joking? We are regular shoppers to your store and this staff member knew this. It may be easier to go elsewhere. Would like to see management reply to this??
From having Coles cafeterias and having many jobs in store to now this ,walked into Coles last night and it feels like that are trying to incorporate Aldi and other competitors marketing , if we all wanted to see a isle full of cheap imports that would break after a certain amount of use you would not of lasted the amount of time you have in business take it back to the good old customer service with a smile
I forgot to take a coin for shopping trolley and requested a staff member if they could provide me one. None of them were happy to assist and asked me to see other staff members and they said the same. After wasting 20 mins waiting and approaching staff members, finally one asked me for cash so she could provide me some coins in return to unlock a trolley... One of the worst Coles I have ever been to.
Such a shameful behaviour by the Coles lynbrook staff and dupty manager refuse to open a trolly for a customer, and shops are fully empty last Sunday market, I report to one of the staff person but no one cares..most of the fruit are out of date and some are in bad condition nothing is markdown, store was looks like old veritable market.. I have some pics but I don't know how to upload.
I went to Coles Lynbrook today night to buy prime for my children. The young man named Lucas told us the story of why they didn't have any and will have more in stock later on. He went through his phone to actually find a place where he knew there was stock available (at a higher price). He was fantastic, polite, helpful and he deserves the five stars I've given him. Thank you! =)
Fruit & vegetable section not good. Wilting vegetables. Disgusting!! Two staff members in particular need to be pulled up on their customer service. Robin & Caroline refuse to even look at the customers let-alone smile!! I have tried on many occasions to talk to them both and none of them will respond. If they aren't happy with their jobs, then leave!!!
I pop in to Coles lynbrook on odd occasions and staff are NEVER NICE OR FRIENDLY!! but this time I stopped to get so called "fresh scones" and preparing for kids breakfast.....I literally paid for uncooked dough...it was disgusting. If you can't do something right don't do it!!! NEVER GOING BACK TO COLES LYNBROOK AGAIN!! 1 star only for a clean coles
Service is embarrassingly bad, was incompetently set up with no express lane service is very very slow and you could spend 30 minutes waiting in line to have to wait longer as people that just turn up at the front counter are the priority. Don't have a single good this to say about this place it needs new management.
All the fresh departments do a really good job keeping fresh foods on display, and generally ball the Isles are always filled. Recently its a bit chaotic with some isle changes and new items coming to the store. But definitely a tier 1 store and the service at point of sale is 8 times out of 10 terrific!
Every week there are twenty to thirty coles trolleys in Harris St. Lynbrook between Lynbrook boulevard and Cilento Crescent. I am positive that a percentage of people who work in Lynbrook coles would drive or walk past these, yet nothing happens. Surely the collectors would think to check more often
Such a shameful, lazy and rude behaviour by the Coles staff lynbrook who are working in self check out yesterday at 3.30 pm big ques in register and staff pointing to go to register as don't want to help customers going through self serv check out. staff needs some training on customer service
Coles Lynbrook has been the best coles i have visited as the staff are so welcoming and friendly. I can always leave with a smile. I have never had an eye roll from anyone and they have all been so friendly. Thank you Lynbrook coles for the fantastic selection on your staff members
Their meat department sucks big time when it comes to discounts on meat with only one day left as the use by date. When I lived near a Woolworths store a while ago, if they had meat with only a day left, it was usually around 50% off. Not Coles... lucky if it's 10%... not happy
My friendly local supermarket. Good deals especially in the Indian section. Very helpful staff. With veggies make sure to compare the prices with local veggie shop nearby, sometimes its very cheap at the local veggie shop.Nonetheless, standard coles offerings and experience.
Shopped here today and was nothing but excellent one staff member who’s name was Ryan was nothing but polite and asked if I had found everything and asked if I needed any help with the bags definitely would come here again and loved the customer service from that sweet boy
Absolute terrible experiences at this store. I have had multiple click and collect orders from this store and over half of them I have had to wait over 30minutes for them to find it. Everytime I get home to unpack the order, I'm missing more than 1/3 of my order.
It is as expected. Coles and Woolies are the one of the reason for all the economy troubles at the moment. Super high profits while inflation is high and the people are copping it. Anyway if you are looking for a coles this is as good as any of them.
I normally don't have a problem with Coles Lynbrook, until I went through the registrar, and had the service assistant cough all over my groceries cough in her hands and then proceed to put my purchases through without washing her hands not impressed
Don't shop here of a morning as deli section has no stock out. Bread racks are empty or only have stale crumpets. Never enough checkouts open. I guess because they have no nearby supermarket to compete against they can get away with mediocrity.
Just your average Coles with below average customer service particularly from one individual , a middle-aged woman with short hair at the self service check out , very rude , put me off going there , prefer Coles Springhill now or Woolies .
Great as always. As a disabled person I find that the staff are very helpful when it comes to making sure that any and all products are available for me. My only problem that I see is that you don't have disabled shopping trolley.
Searched for ages for items based on the handing signs in the isles and many items were still hard to find. Such as Mexican and International foods being in the Baking isle with no signage. Needed 6 items, took too long to shop.
Did my first click and collect order there today. Not only was everything packed really well but also so fresh. The girl that loaded my shopping was super friendly. Will willingly drive past 2 Coles stores to come back here
The staff are so grumpy! I have lived in lynbrook for 3 years and this is my local shop. The staff of older ladies who have been there ages, have never smiled, been friendly or kind. No good customer service at all.
Not good anymore. Closes at 10pm. Really. What happened to going to the shops late to get bread and milk. No fruit and veg. No normal meat. And deli closed at 9pm. On a Saturday.
I went here to get 2 things. We went in and weren’t greeted then we didn’t see that much stock anywhere. But there was enough to get by. All around ok place recommend.
Nice placement, plenty of parking space. Friendly and helpful staff. Lota of other shops nearby. Good for daily necessities, most of the useful items are always available.
Lovely staff always happy to give you a hand and more than happy to go out the back to fine the stock your after l like coles much better than safe way that's for sure
Order click and collect, arrive to pick up at designated timeslot and shopping has not even been started. Should've stuck with Casey Central. Better customer service.
I enjoy shopping at this Coles store. It's never overly busy. Easy to get a carpark. Everything is nice and fresh and there is always someone nice at the register.
Love The Homie Ryan. Had a mad chat while scanning my items, heard he likes the fast cars that go in circles, whatever there called. Hope he gets a raise …
Coles is good but the grocers there has awesome prices for fresh coriander, beetroot, etc. Recommend to all, tucked away at this shopping centre.
Asked for ham, received mortadella. My mum is 85 and could not go back. It is now in the bin. Not happy. Teach your staff to know the difference
Pretty nice and clean. It’s a Coles, so you can expect it to be like all of the other Coles stores around (would many Coles be called Coleses?).
Good supermarket, but the bakery people really need to know what Toast & sandwich sliced is.....the sandwich was the same as the fricking toast.
1 check out only open, always the same. Huge queue. As I am nearly 80 and cannot stand for long (need hip replacement) this is unacceptable.
Nice store helpful staff and a few bargains at times. Standard range and prices for this chain. Plenty of parking reasonably close to store
My local shop. Has everything needed in a Coles. Happy staff and clean facility. Every Coles should be a 5 star regardless of location.
The customer servicing is absolutely discussing, even the manager is disrespectful! I hope they will improve their costumer servicing!
Clean and well organised, staff are friendly. I l travel extra distance to come here over my local woolworths which isn't as nice.
Place looks good, we are just new around Lynbrook. It's holiday, nothing much to explore as most of the shops were closed …
Unfortunately produce let's the place down. Shop there weekly and end up throwing out 3 quarters of the pre packed berries.
It is a great shopping complex. It has most of the things you need without the hustle & bustle of the big shopping centres.
Shelfs were empty and staff were on the checkout and walking around with masks on there chins and not covering their faces
Lady at the front register was extremely rude and disinterested in her job, literally had the most disgusting attitude
the aisles are so small i cant walk when there is a lot of people there. The prices for the snacks are way too much
Make sure you look at the expiry date when you shop at this Coles. I got ice coffee that was 2 months out of date.
Nicely set out, friendly and helpful staff. Specials are displayed prominently and are very good value for money.
They need more efficient team to put stuff. I always see some one working and we can’t do shopping properly.
Comparable with the other Coles Grocery I used to go to and very conveniently close to my current residence.
Biggest Coles I've been to yet and the first one I've seen with a clothes isle pretty standard for a Coles
Is a one shopping experience food clothing wine spirits frendly team you must see will not be disappointed
Plenty of stock clean and not crowded. Definetly spend the extra 5 minutes and skip Woolies Hampton Park.
Nicely set out, great prices, very friendly staff. Love the fact that it is walking distance from home.
This is a great Coles. Always has stock, kept clean and organised and terrific, friendly staff!
Shopping experience is perfectly fine. Most staff are warm and welcoming. Pleasant experience
Supermarket is a bit small and layout a bit disorganised staff not very polite disappointed
Friendly helpful staff, always clean and tidy in the store nice size not too big or small.
Good shop it is cleaner than the one in cranbourne but would still prefer to go to safway
Love shopping at Coles. Clean, fresh fruits and vegetables, good variety of groceries.
Typical coles standard shop. There is pharmacy, Bakery and small coffee next to coles.
Found it to be cheaper than woolworths. Their own products are of really good quality.
Standard Coles with their usual range of products and bargains - a big store.
Ok store has a pretty good range of food, fruit and veggies, and deli stuff
A great Coles. Close to a butcher, fruit store and other specialist stores.
Very poor in terms of stock levels. Bad customer service and un clean.
Staff always got a smile on their faces. Clean and always well stocked
Good Coles for your shopping needs. May run out of some items as well.
Friendly staff and almost have everything U need. Highly recommedable
Good supermarket with nice variety of goods. Helpful, friendly staff.
Visiting from the gold coast, well stocked found all we needed, clean
Friendly and helpful staff and easy to find what you’re looking for.
Couldn't find what I was looking for, which was detox tea, not happy
Big size supermarket which serves a wide variety of grocery items.
Smallest store in the region but comes with the friendliest staff.
Very well organised, clean. A pleasant shopping experience …
Awesome service.Gluten free stuff readily available all the time.
Good discounts Good Customer service keep it up so far so good
Great little Coles here, it has all you can expect from Coles.
The only supermarket in the shopping centre. The regular Coles
Best coles to shop at! Friendly staff and ample parking too.
It served good coffer compared to other mall in this region.
Awesome place, helpful staff.. Huge range of items available
Prefer coles at Lynbrook. Normally quiet and has nice staff
