My son had his Landcruiser engine re-built here at over 15k. It took 3mths to get the car back. It has since been returned to the shop 9 times to rectify errors and one problem has been repaired 3 times. Despite being given a time to pick the car up, not once was it ready on the day agreed to. It has been taken back for weeks and several days at a time. My son has missed over 3 weeks work as a result and spent a fortune on taxis but not once was he assisted with any of this, either by a lift to home or work He missed a trip with mates that had been planned for months. He has caught Dave out on numerous occasions with lies about why work wasnt done on time. I can accept an engine re-build maybe having a couple of little tweaks needed but not going back 9 times for days at a time. I have read some reviews which are good but my boy has been treated atrociously and no replies explaining why can justify it. I am absolutely disgusted at his treatment by an alleged professional organisation who have completely stuffed up his engine build.

I rang Dave when he told me he would diagnose the problem with my vehicle and quote how much it would cost to fix my noisy diesel. When he saw my vehicle he plugged in his diagnostic tool for a period of time and he said "injectors 4 and 5 are injecting too much fuel and need changing but it's best to change all 5". "Your pump is supplying the correct pressure". He quoted an amount to replace the injectors with new ones. I took the vehicle there after paying a deposit. When I called him after the work was completed he informed me the engine sounded the same and that he then thought it sounded like valve train noise. He charged me the full amount and when I collected my vehicle it behaved no differently in any way than when I left it there despite all his positive comments. When I asked for my old injectors he said that he had sent them away in an exchange agreement which was not mentioned to me previously. I am very disappointed that I spent more than $2000.00 for work which made no difference at all to my vehicle. Beware!

Dave knows his stuff especially regarding the idiosyncracies of French cars. He found the fault when my Peugeot 207cc started misfiring and fan stayed on. Replaced coil, spark plugs, cleaned battery terminals and flipped seal on oil cap. Then have just had it back for all coil replacement and minor service. Both repair and service very reasonably priced and he also does little things like my trim under dash was falling down (probably when I had focal speakers installed they didn't put back properly) and he fixed it up, my windscreen wiper was dragging and I think he fixed that too and last time even rearranged my CDs neatly in my door consoles. That's good old fashioned service! Also tells you what else needs to be done e.g rear tyres soon and brakes. Will definitely return for all my maintenance to a car I love driving, want to keep and show at Peugeot Club meets.

A nightmare..I waited about ten days till they were ready to do car..A complex job given to apprentice..3weeks they had the car which was only a 2 day job..Taken back many times with diesel..coolant..oil leaks which were never there bfr..and the job was never fixed.My car was put at end of list to repair their bad workmanship as they kept saying they were busy..Now found a Audi specialist job done at half the price in 2 days..DC really treated me like a mug..Had to talk to Fairtrading and ended up getting the considerable labour content of bill refunded..

As a mechanic and with very little experience with common rail diesel, I did my research to find a good knowledgeable mechanic to work on my Hilux. Dave was very helpful and his prices are by far the best I got, he replaced my injectors and fitted a new exhaust system and the Hilux hasn’t run this good for as long I can remember. Dave says it like it is and doesn’t try to sell you something you don’t need just gets the job done. I have no hesitation in recommending anyone, family or friends to DC automotive. My boss Service my work truck there. spent over $9000 on a d22 engine replacement only to have it blow up after a couple of months. Boss asked Dave if you can get some help fixing the truck Dave refused boss is to nice to push the matter and now I’m inconvenienced with an unreliable truck waste of over $9000 in my opinion and also didn’t connect the heater so I’ve been freezing cold

Great, friendly, and professional shop. Stopped in for a blue slip — quick and easy. As I’m new to the country, Dave was kind enough to take the time to help me figure out what I had to do to get my car fully ready to go. I had my rego all done by the end of the day, thanks to his help.
