The staff in this place need to learn proper customer service which include a greeting and welcoming customers with a smile on their face. My elderly parents went in today to buy some wine, not one of the staff had a smile on their face, not one acknowledged them with a greeting, NOTHING!!!! If you're going to work in customer service then learn what customer service really is. Leave your problems and your feelings at home cause when you're at work, you're at work!! People come back time after time because of the friendly service they receive. My parents live an hour and a half away from Pakenham and come stay with us from time to time and they were definitely not at all happy with the customer service they received in this place today and this is not the first time. I have been to their Dan Murphy's where they live and every one of the staff there knows what customer service should be, greeting people, acknowledging and smiling. I think that the Director/Manager of this place needs to teach their staff true customer service. It's common sense to treat others the way you would like to be treated and be selfless and not selfish. It's not about you, it's about the person you are serving so that they can keep coming back and tell others about you also and to build up your reputation as a whole in a positive way and not negative.

Staff are hit and miss here. Was in Friday arvo and was served by a young blonde guy. I said I was looking for a particular product which by the way was a $200 bottle of whiskey, easy sale for him to make. Couldn’t find it so asked him and showed him the product on their website to which he helpfully asked “have you looked in the whiskey section” even though I was standing right in front of the shelf when he asked me that. Then when I said yes, funnily enough I did actually think to do that he looked and said no we don’t have it. I asked if he was sure, so he went away, and I can only assume pretended to check on the computer then came back and said they didn’t have it. I say pretended because 5 minutes later I found it myself in the glass cabinet and there were about 10 bottles so their stock would have shown as in stock. I’m thinking of sending Dan an invoice for my wages since I do a better job of working there than his actual staff!

Horrible customer service experience, check out operator refused to remove 4 small bottles of cider from my shoppers basket, when i asked why she could not do it, she stated it was a hazzard as she had to twist her body, i advised her to slide the basket closer, still refused, I would suggest that Dan Murphy should employ people who can fulfill an inherent part of the job role as clearly this girl who served us could not fulfill her duties and to top it off complained to my brother next in line when i left and even told him I should have put my basket away, this is almost laughable but disgusting service. I would like to know if this is a Dan Murphy policy or just a lazy employee as I have never experienced this in other Dan Murpheys.

This is our regular Dan's. We visit this place almost every weekend. They have a reasonably good range of any sort alcoholic drinks. The assortment of ready made cocktails is a bit limited but we go very rarely for cocktails. The prices are always less than any other liquor store, as they promise. Also, the members offers are generally good deals. The store salesmen and women are quite friendly and courteous. We needed help with a single malt scotch and the recommendation was perfectly what we wanted. Same happened with wines a couple of times. If you live around the area and frequently purchase alcoholic beverages, then this place is the best.

First of all, exceptionally friendly staff. Approached by multiple team members to offer assistance. One team member in particular went out of her way to advise that if we were Dan's Members that we could find the product we wanted cheaper online. She said we could organise a Click and Collect and it would come through the system within 5 minutes. It did. And she saved us money. She didn't need to do this, but I just felt it was amazing service to offer an alternative option, that saved us money. Thank you. Happy holidays

Son just turned 18, manager wouldn't sell him a 6 pack of beer because his girlfriend couldn't produce ID, all because he assumed that he was supplying her beer. I went in with my son to explain that he is 18, which he then went on to tell me that I couldn't by the 6 pack because I was going to give it to a girl who didn't have ID, and she wasn't buying anything... Hope he asks every customer who buys alcohol what their intention is, used to be my go too place for beer and wine, no thanks Dan Murphy's, what a joke...

Had very bad experience with the staff (R) at Pakenham store. Requested them to beat the price, but that staff member refused. Said that they can’t beat the price with that particular store. Mentioned them the website as well. Then spoke to the customer service team online. They said, “Yes we do beat the price.” And online team ordered the stuff for me after beating the price. So 1 star for the staff for inconvenience. 5 stars for the online team.

I love Dan Murphy's they always have great prices but don't always beat other alcohol superstores in prices staff extremely friendly and always helpful always someone around to ask for help and receive help immediately from whatever staff member you asked and great variety of all alcohol you can think of... Good old Dan Murphy's store, I also love the fact that if you forget your bags there's always boxes there that you can use and take home

Ample parking including disabled parking. Larger variety of beer, wine and spirits than competitors. Will always match competitors prices. Staff knowledge spot on. Staff friendliness ? There was one male employee stacking shelves late Thursday afternoon once who wouldn't or just couldn't be bothered to assist me. Only negative incident. Apart from that, I will continue to shop there.

I have been going to this place for a few years now. The single malt collection is amazing and some international beer brands make it even better on a hot day. The customer service has amazing knowledge about a lot of brands. Every employee is so cheerful, have a smile when you request help, they are always up to help you and find what you are looking for. Keep up the good work.

nothing wrong with the range, but was watched by a staff member for the entirety of my visit. they didn't ask me if I needed help, just followed me and watched me. creepy. ended up getting to the register where they put my drinks through, and they carded me, and well, if they wanted my ID they shouldve asked for it instead of following me around.

It's Uncle Dan's so you know they have a great range of products with friendly and helpful staff. You can grab what you need, get through the checkouts and be in your way with a free box to carry your goodies in with a smile and no fuss. They also sell bags of ice and have a decent size Carpark for all your parking needs.

Hours state 9am till 9pm. Desperately rushed there for 8:55pm to get wine for some ragu and found doors already shut. Staff waiting around on their phones, knock on window and shooed away. Went back to car to google what else was still open. Staff all left not a minute past 9pm. Why advertise opening hours until 9pm?

Went here on someone else's request to get some supplies for a cocktail. Found a couple of very helpful staff members who made the job easier and quicker (sorry didn't note names) so I was out of there in no time. They have a great location on the Princes Hwy with plenty of parking and a small shopping centre nearby.

Uncle Dan's in Pakenham is terrific. The staff are very friendly, know what they're talking about, and are always there if you're not sure what to get or try next! Parking is ample, the place is always clean. You also get the usual massive variety of items you're accustomed to from Dan Murphys!

Plenty of parking, easy access, huge variety and everything is categorised well, making it easy to find what you want. Staff are friendly too. There are often good specials or clearance baskets. Close to Coles and Aldi so you can do all your shopping at once.

Great place to shop, loads of variety and terrific prices. Today I was invited to join their "club" which after having a look at the price differences for members I joined straight away. A six pack of Corona's only $11.00 thats value.

Not a big fan as the beer seems always seems to be over priced and then have to argue with staff about price matching and then have to wait while they ring the competition to price check. On the good side there is plenty of variety.

I thought Uncle Dan's was meant to be the best price guaranteed? Everything was more expensive than BWS, and 30 minutes after I left i had to stop at a Cellerbrations where I found a bottle of Starward whiskey that was $10 cheaper.

Seem to have more stock than other stores of similar size. Fewer expensive items in locked cabinets, which is always helpful when trying to get something quickly. Excellent display of independent beers and ciders.

The customer service here is exemplary. The staff are super attentive and knowledgeable, service is fast every time I've been even during peak times. They have almost every product at the most competitive prices.

Always a great range of beers, wines an spirits. Super friendly staff and lots of parking. Heaps of ice available as well as mixers available in store, so you don't need to stop anywhere else. Highly recommend

My home away from home. What can I say apart from they have a bloody great range and always have the good stuff in stock and prices you can’t beat. Oh and the staff are all very helpful and friendly.

This Dan's probably has the best selection of wines of all Dan Murphy's in Melb. Certainly for reds , whites could though improve ie. Not the every day rubbish but the better quality wines . June '17

The only place to get burleigh bighead no carb beer..if your new years resolution is to loose weight but miss your beer..give this a try..or if your looking for a liquor item..they probably have it..

Fantastic selection, prices are ok and plenty of parking outside makes this an easy store to visit. I often check their pricing online before going in and will wait for specials before buying.

Great prices and soooooo much selection, bought a few $4 and $6 bottles of wine out of curiosity and some of them were good plus they've got all the top shelf stuff too depending on your mood

I was happily greeted by each team member on the floor as I wandered the store today which you don't see much these days. Shelves were stocked and I was able to easily purchase what I needed.

Friendly staff, reasonable price, and decent range. Dan Murphy's is often great because if they don't have what you want you can make a request and they may have it in the future.

Chris the Fine Wine Manager was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We bought a bottle of the 2009 Katnook Eastate Cab Sav and are very happy with our purchase.
