As a 50-something this was more challenging than some of the other reviews would suggest. Some of it is reasonably challenging rocks, not just a meander along a gravel track. It’s only 1.5 hours from end to end but I had a litre of water in
Did not do the full trail, but going to soon. Beautiful views of Strand and Somerset West. Also the incline is beginner friendly. Even young kids can walk it if accompanied by adults or older teens. There are some places where there is high
Nice hike with scenic views. 3 stars because there's no dedicated parking and the trail isn't marked or clearly visible. Most of the way it felt like I was making my own path. Needs maintenance so people don't wander off damaging the fynbos.
Great little hiking trail just above the beautiful Gordonsbay on the mountains. It is a fairly easy trail which we completed with our kids and dogs in about 3 hours. You get some fascinating views of the town of Gordonsbay, the harbour and
Absolutely gorgeous hike. Overlooking the entire False Bay area. A bit of a treacherous trail, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes or proper hiking boots. The trail leads you straight to the painted sign assembled by the cadets of the
I almost gave this hike a 2 or 3 star because I got there and wasn't sure where to park there's no designated parking area and the street is quite narrow so felt too guilty to park there. Eventually parked and walked up and went in the
This is one of my favorite local trails with views that are never disappointing. You start off on a gravel incline leading you to the trail starting point- this serves as a decent warm up with. The trail is suitable for beginners to
I'd recommend this hike for early morning or late afternoon and Autumn or Winter. No shade and the sun beating down makes for a hot walk. Great views across the bay. Some scrambling but otherwise pretty easy. Wear decent shoes.
Scenic and very easy route. Could improve the pathway with steps and pebbles. Beautiful none the less and can become a favorite amongst tourists if improvements can be made on the hiking trail for those specific hikers.
A little tricky and rocky but altogether a wonderful way to start your morning. The important thing I'd like to highlight here is that THERE IS NO PARKING ON THIS PIN DROP!
I could just do small part of the hike, but the birds, water streams, flowers and most of all the majestic mountains and ocean is just vistas worth the effort.
Stunning hike with beautiful views over Gordon's bay and ocean. Make sure to keep an eye out for the little anchor signs as to not miss the trail turn off!
It's fun and really beautiful. There is no parking, and the trail goes from point A to point B. I recommend getting dropped off by Uber / Strand Taxi.
Beautiful route with great scenery, very rocky and adventurous not a running trail and be cautious taking dogs on a sunny day. Very clean, We loved it!
Super nice hike . Starters can do this one easily. The only thing at the moment is the drought. A lot of places down the road are completely burned.
It is a amazing hiking trail with a beautiful view. It is a hard trail with alot of loose rocks making the hike difficult but definitely worth it.
Very fun hike, lots of loose rocks and climbing involved but good views. Ensure you have Sunscreen and a cap as the sun can get a bit much
Easy hike with breath taking views. Start early as the sun can be intense. No parking available at the entrance on aurora road. More
This is what I call a perfect hike: just the right length and level of difficulty. Plus the views are spectacular!
Starts a bit steep but overall an easy hike.. no shade areas and you will have to loop back to the vehicle...
This was a lovely trail. Our hike was cut short by a muddy trench but the views are out of this world! More
Easy hike along the Gordons Bay mountains with stunning views across Vals bay and the Helderberg area.
Good hike, however due to rain the path has been washed away slightly. Awesome view all the way.
