Came here to pick up my friends “repaired” necklace today, but when we arrived it “was being polished” and we were told to wait. The lady informed us they were having an issue because it was silver, but gold plated, and it was still being worked on (don’t call and say an item is ready for pick up if it isn’t). Upon receiving the necklace my friend asked for the pendant she left it with and the lady said right away without checking “no you didn’t leave a pendant, you check”. She gave my poor friend so much attitude insinuating that my friend had the pendant. So they offer to check with the associate who took the order, and told us that she’ll be in after an hour. So we left the store and she called us back after 10 minutes saying “we found it”. We get back to the store and instead of being apologetic, she mentions my friend not answering her call right away (she was checking out at Marshall’s downstairs). Then my friend asks for a refund because the service was overall terrible and the associate responds with “YOU ARE TRYING TO TAKE ADVANTAGE, YOU ARE GOING TO MAKE ME CRY”? We got the refund and she yelled “HAVE A NICE DAY!” and proceeded to talk about us as we walked out. Also. No one in the store was wearing a mask, so they lied about associates wearing masks in another response to someone else’s concerns regarding COVID standards. Thank you for the refund and see you never.

I had an amazing experience at Design Jewellers. After much research I decided that Moissanite was going to be the stone of choice for my eventual engagement ring. I went to several stores that advertised that they sold Moissanite and talked to the staff. Design was the ONLY place that had staff knowledgeable about Moissanite, the other stores knew next to nothing about it. They also have a display with both loose Moissanite available to see as well as rings that were already set; which again, I wasn't able to find anywhere else in the city. My ring was a custom design. I worked mostly with Nissam. He sent me two versions of the CAD with different options. His main suggestion was to switch the design from a peg-head to a cathedral to make it stronger because I was going with a 2 carat equivalent Moissanite. It's something I never would have thought of on my own but that ended up being an amazing change. I now worry much less about the ring bending or breaking. Also never did I once feel pressured to switch to a diamond. We also dealt with Alex when it came time to have the ring made. I have since recommended this store to others and will continue to do so. Thanks Nissam, Alex and Design Jewellers for making my dream ring for a very reasonable price.

I was browsing WEM looking for a Mothers Day Gift for my wife (from my 3 daughters) not really knowing what to get her when I happened across Design Jewelers. When I walked in I was immediately greeted by a kind gentleman (Alex-whom I found out later was the owner of the store) and he asked if he could help me? I told him that I was just looking but I am sure he could tell I was quite lost. He let me know of the sale they were having and if I had any questions to just ask. As I looked around I was amazed to find so many beautiful and unique pieces - but I still had no idea what I was looking for. Alex recognized this again but this time sent one of his consultants over to see if she could help. She subtly ask a few questions about my wife and before long we were standing in front of a display case that had the most beautiful pair of earrings with my wife's birthstone and believe it or not the were 50% off. I purchased the earrings (and noticed a matching necklace) and told the consultant that if my wife liked the earrings - I would be back in June for the necklace. Thank you Alex and your staff for making my shopping experience so pleasurable.

I can't say enough good stuff about these guys. I've worked with them a couple times for some jewellery repairs which were always excellent experiences, but my last experience with them was exceptional. My fiance proposed at Christmas with a beautiful 3-stone engagement ring he purchased in Calgary. While I loved the concept of the setting and the diamonds were stunning, it was quite uncomfortable because it had really sharp edges and spun around because it was top heavy and I have big knuckles and skinny fingers. For a SUPER reasonable price, they melted down my setting, added a bit more gold to beef it up, gave it a flat bottom and counterweights to stop it from spinning, thickened the band, all while keeping the overall design of the setting that I loved so much. I am more than impressed with their work. They were easy to work with, kept me informed by sending life-like CAD designs for review and creating a wax mold, and they had the work done in under two weeks from when I dropped it off. I'm blown away! Thank you Design Jewellers, you guys are rockstars.

Asked them if they can change my Tissot watch battery, they said they can. The guy took it inside for 30 minutes and came back told me that he damaged the seal, and he won’t charge me for the new battery. Short story long, the watch never worked properly after that day, it was always off. Had to send it to Vancouver to get it repaired. Costed me 312 dollars. If you don’t know what you are doing, don’t reck people stuff. Update after owner's response: 1- The events you are describing did not happen with me, I think you are getting confused with all the dissatisfied customers. 2- I was only at your store once, my watch was brand new, no more than 3 years old with its original battery. 3- my watch battery died like any other battery, you replaced it with a new battery, it was working but not keeping up with time (losing an hour everyday) 4- I recall your tech was extremely nervous after he had worked on it. I am 100% certain something happened to my watch in the back shop. 5- It is ok to admit you did not a great job and promise you will do better next time!

Our experience at Design Jewellers was amazing. I wanted to surprise my girlfriend (now fiancée) with a custom ring, and it was a smooth and simple process right from the very start. I had visited several places before stopping by Design to talk with Mila about the possibility of designing a custom ring. Mila was extremely knowledgeable and explained the entire process for me so I knew exactly what to expect. She asked just enough questions to make sure I got exactly what I wanted and she spent the extra time to make sure I felt comfortable with my decisions moving forward. You can tell Mila cares so much about the product she is backing up. The order I placed was completed well within the estimated time frame, and diamonds were the best quality I could have asked for. The diamonds are also GIA certified. Needless to say, Jess and I are so happy we went with Mila and the team at Design Jewellers. We will be visiting again to get a pair of wedding bands, and we would recommend them to anyone looking to tie the knot!

I had a very nice experience with Design Jewellers buying the engagement ring. Alex (the owner) has a very different in a good way approach to the client, comparing with other jewellery shops that don't have knowledge or will to share it with the client to help to choose the best. Design Jewellers, on the other hand, explains what is important, what to look at, and what exactly makes the product valuable, (any other stores I visited don't do that) on top of that Design Jewellers has a big variety to choose from using world spread stock system, and they do a really good job to find what is better for you (while majority of other places propose you what they have in a store, just to sell you something). Design Jewellers has very nice personal touch and last, but not least, much better price than majority stores on the market. I highly recommend Design Jewellers to everybody. Vlad.

I bought a necklace for my girlfriend there and I had hardly ever stepped foot in a jewelry store before. Olga was amazing, she walked me through every aspect start to finish, explaining all the materials, the different specifications, and the symbolic meanings of the stones and metals. After I made the purchase, I actually second-guessed my choice and returned the next day to look at more options. Olga was there again to help me find exactly what I was looking for, no questions asked. The exchange was seamless. We ended up swapping the pendant to a nicer chain, and she did it completely free of charge. I left happier than I came without having to spend a dime. They really put the customer first and want your long term business. Super respectable business, can’t recommend this place enough.

Since i cant reply to my review heres another one. i had stopped into the store almost everyday since i worked in the mall i didnt need to leave my contact info as i was excited enough to check back everyday. Yes i thank you for my refund back but at the same time jo jo should have known if the bracelet was sizeable or not since you guys are supposed to hold a professional stance and know a questionable amount of info on ur products. We depend on you and your employees to be thuro when we come in to buy something from ur store. Dont use the fact that u couldnt contact me as an excuse for not being able to serve me better. Learn from this and update your employees on their product knowledge this will still continue to be a place i will never visit again thank you for your time.

**BUYER BEWARE** Not worth a star I came into this store and was approached by Jojo who tended to my inquiry. I informed her I was looking for a gold necklace and w a cross pendant. She grabbed this board w gold necklaces and said these were on sale w 30% discount. She then helped me pick out a cross pendant w a total of approximately 770$ for a 10K 24inch necklace. I had it appraised here in Calgary recently and the jeweller said it was not worth 50$. I asked the jeweller, are you serious and explained what I paid for it and at a discount. Unfortunately, I had gotten the appraisal beyond their 30 day policy. Please beware of this store, have your jewelry appraised immediately, they can tell u one thing and it will be something totally different.

So, last year in September I had bought my husband a ring here. It was a great price. I believe it was over $1000 regular price and on sale for just under $700. When I bought the ring, I asked to have it sized. Well, in just a couple of months he saw a hairline crack, which we didn't stress about. It's been about 8 months now and it completely broke. I should have known that this would happen when I got the ring appraised and was surprised to hear that it was only worth $100! I didn't write a review when I found out because I know that jewelry stores mark everything up 100% and I felt totally scammed, but when the ring broke, I just had to write a review. The service there was great, but I would never buy another item at the store again.

The service of this place is phenomenal! My fiance gave me an heirloom ring when he proposed and we took it here to be sized. They cleaned it up so beautifully and fixed a crack that was in it as well for a reasonable price. Turn around was the next day and I was so happy to have it back so soon. Today I took my own heirloom ring in to have sized and fixed up as my wedding band, and she cleaned my engagement for free while we talked about redesigning my band. The cost of getting my new ring sized and stones set in came to $190 and I couldn't be happier. I'll be recommending this place to anyone that needs something done. The people working there are so nice and I felt so comfortable leaving such sentimental pieces in their care.

Lorinda and the team were incredible to work with. I've come here twice now for work and have left so happy with the products. My fiance came in for a custom designed wedding band for our upcoming wedding. Lorinda had so much time for us and care in making sure it was what he wanted. She brought his vision to life and had such great expertise in design. The ring turned out beautifully and the process they have to review custom jewelry from the initial consult, to the 3D model, and the end product, it was great! I also brought my mom's bangle to get resized and while everywhere else told us it was impossible, Lorinda made it happen! It was great communication, fast service, and the care and attention you want in your jewelry.

After the sudden death of my father, I acquired his ring. His ring was 50+ years old and the stone was in danger of falling out. I knew I needed it to be fixed, quickly. I went to two other stores, both said I would have to leave it overnight. When I walked into Design Jewelers they originally said that it was an overnight or at least an all day job, but once they saw my reluctance to leave it combined with my concern for the stone they made it a priority. It was done within hours and it looks absolutely amazing. In this difficult time having my fathers ring is a source of comfort and words cannot describe how much it meant to me that they made me a priority. I will be using and recommending Design Jewelers from here on out.

I went to Design Jewelers to get my engagement ring designed. It was a flawless experience from start to finish. Not only did they explain thoroughly the process of design, they were extremely patient and understanding when I wanted to make modifications. They explained and educated me on the types of diamonds, colors. cuts, and clarity, which helped me choose the size and cut of the diamond for the style of ring I wanted. The end result was fantastic, I am so incredibly happy with my ring and could not have asked for better service and of course QUALITY. I highly recommend Design Jewelers and team any day. The service at Design Jewlers was the best!! I came in to look at getting an engagement ring and was greeted by very friendly staff. I had the great pleasure of dealing with Mila. She was so great at educating me about the diamond specifics and also helping me design a custom engagement ring for my now fiancé. After I had proposed, the fiancé and I came in to get the ring resized and they were able to do it right away with no charge! I bought my engagement ring from design jewelleries and was very impressed with Melanie. They're sales team was awsome, very low pressure and I didn't feel any discouragement from Melanie weather I was leaning towards a lower budget ring or higher budget ring, nore impatientness on my indecisiveness. I truly felt that she was not trying to land me on the most expensive choice, but on what comfortably fit my budget and met my standard. She was very helpful and took pride in explaining thoroughly the differences in diamond quality and what each grade of diamond was valued at and why. The staff here are rude and don't have any sanitization measures even through they are legally supposed to. They continuously break the law by caming right beside my 1 year old daughter without any masks or social distance. I would be afraid for anyone who's brave enough to come here. Update to comment below: please do not misinform others by saying you care about your customers and follow the rules. My review and pic was obviously after the government established these safety protocols that you ignore. I also did confront your staff and she just spit on the ground and walked to the back of the store. So don't give all the BS about caring and following regulations.

I have owned a silver cuff story bracelet for many years, created by Andrew Henry, a Navajo silversmith from Canyon de Chelly. I have worn it every day since I purchased it. Several months ago, it got caught on something, and snapped in two. A friend of mine told me to go to Design Jewellers, to have it fixed. The bracelet was fixed within a few days for a Very Reasonable price, and it is now back on my wrist, as if it had never been broken. I can't say enough about the wonderful customer service I received, and the Workmanship is amazing. I Highly recommend this business for any jewellry repair you may need.

ONE STAR IS TOO MUCH FOR THEM. customer service is really off, rude. also be aware of pricing, they want to charge me 400+ dollars extra till i show them their initial email with the right price. be ware. quality is ok but with the way they treat people, no thank you. they responded back, so funny, i have a proof of them not telling the truth and want to charge me 400$ extra and when i showed it to them, they took the invoice and ripped it off. also they did the size wrong even though i emailed it over and over of the correct size before even starting the job. NO ONE SHOULD USE THEM, WILL REGRET IT

Very unhappy about my experience here. I handed my watch over to have the batteries replaced, and when I return 15 minutes later, the gentleman hands me back my watch completely broken. He proceeded to blame 'who ever opened the watch before him' (which would have been the manufacture!) I asked him if its something he can fix, and he said 'yeah I can try for an additional $30.00. Are you kidding? You break my watch, place the blame on fiction and then have the nerve to ask me to pay you to fix it. Don't trust this business with you valuables Clearly they are unable to own up to their mistakes.

I took in my wife's wedding ring which had a missing diamond and some broken prongs and it was a little dull. What we got back was so amazing and stunning that we both could not believe it. They replaced all the bad prongs and made the ring look new, like the day it was first purchased. The work was done within the time expected and very reasonable. We were recommended to go here by a new diamond retailer. And I know why. Design Jewellers are amazing. If you have something you cherish and want it taken care of and made new, this is the place to go. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

I came in on Saturday to have a clasp on my necklace fixed. After checking out a few other jewellers in the mall, I was referred to Design Jewellers and was not disappointed. Alex did the repair on the spot, and charged me an extremely reasonable price for the clasp replacement compared to another jeweller. He also fixed my grandmother’s ring that was squished, and answered my questions as to what stone was in it. Needless to say, I will make the trip back to WEM to see Alex for any other repairs I may need. Excellent customer service, and lovely staff!

The older lady that works there is horrible!!! She’s very defensive and rude when asked simple questions. I went in to exchange a ring for a different size. All this place had to do was ship it to the manufacturer and call me when it was shipped back. She was so angry during the whole transaction for no reason and kept stressing that I pay for the shopping costs- which I already knew I was responsible for. Stay far away from this place! ++ my complaint is about the customer service and the attitude I received; NOT about the transaction itself.

Not only do they have amazing pieces available, which I tend to leave with something new every visit, they have the best customer service, always patient, friendly and extremely knowledgeable. I went to them with diamond earrings wanting to change them to a necklace. Came here to purchase a bracelet for my wife's 30th birthday. Paid 500 bucks for a white gold one. It broke within a month. Took it back to them to get it fixed. They wouldn't fix it for free because they said it was her fault so they charged me 50 to fix it. It broke again within another month. Took it to another jeweller and they took a look at it and said it wasbt even white gold! It was coated copper!!! Do not go to these crooks they will rip you off in a heart beat. This was a year ago who would still have the receipt

Great Company with Very good Staff. Don't let negative reviews sway your decision. I was looking for a very specific Oris men's watch. I went to every jewellery store in Edmonton and None could get it. I even called Oris and was told the line was discontinued. Jerry was amazing, put the time in and ended up finding one from Switzerland and had it brought in. Communication was great, they were willing to offer payment plans most stores would not. Very satisfied and would deal with them again. Keep it up!

Nissim from Design Jewellers was outstanding in his clear communication and the entire teams ability to have my fiance’s custom ring made in the timeline they had set. In two weeks the ring was completely done! We walked into the store and Nissim himself was so excited to show us the ring. It was perfectly made, just how we had envisioned it! Wow Lorinda and Design Jewellers were amazing to work with. I wanted to design my own engagement ring, and being together for 6 years my now fiance knew better than to argue hah! Came in because of a friend who referred them. So had some gold to sell figured I'd go in and see what they would offer! Not only where they rude to me and my wife but they insulted me with their pathetic offer. They claim they pay the most for your gold. On the contrary they are arrogant and rude. I would recommend not using this establishment for their unkindly customer service and not up to speed with other business's

I am very pleased with the service and quality of diamonds of Design Jewelers. I had them create a ring in memory of some family members. They did an amazing job and ensured it was exactly what I was requesting. Their 3D view and wax model gave me confidence in what I would receive as the final result. Service and communication regarding status of the order was excellent. I will be a return customer!

The final product designed and made by Lorinda and the team is a pure work of art! I went through so many ideas from Italian designer where the rings are much more expensive and unavailable in Edmonton. Lorinda was able to design something even better than anything I had seen. He got me an stunningly beautiful diamond at a very great price and it needed a lot of work and adjustment which took a lot of time and knowledge, it was not an easy task, but he was very patient and got the job done. Family owned business. I walked in with an idea and they turned it into a beautiful family ring for my wife. Jerry was a huge help in the whole process. I spent no more than a half hour discussing my ideas and withing hrs they had sent me a C.G. image of a design and we were off to the races. Within a month ring was ready. Nothing short of artwork.

I had a ring sized there and appraisals done. My ring was sized perfectly and cleaned and polished. The jeweller took the time to explain the appraisal process and is clearly knowledgeable and passionate about his profession. I will absolutely return and have custom earrings designed. I got my engagement ring (custom designed) and wedding band from here over a decade ago and love both. Earlier this week I brought both in to get repaired and resized. Only a couple hours later they called me and told me they were done (2 days earlier than expected). Now I have two rings that look brand new and fit perfectly!

If you have a budget in mind, they'll work with you to get what you want for the cost you want. Plus, they really seem to love what they do. There is a guy named Tony that works in the back. He is the jewelry smith. His work is second to none. Although he is not on the floor he is the MVP of this location 100%. Took a 50 yr old ring which was a family ring. Made it look brand new. This guy delivers quality work. Thanks a bunch Tony. Highly recommended.

Staff are nice but some of the new people aren't trained enough before starting as i asked if something was solid gold when i knew it was gold plated and they said yes.Also this place is very high priced $100 A GRAM FOR 10 KARAT gold is outrageous. Inexperienced in patina finished silver jewelry. Very good service but when I'm told a $1200 pendant is made of junk metal because the silver smith is inexperienced on the type of coating used on high end silver items the experience leaves alot to be desired when going to a jewelry store for custom work

Their appraisals do not provide sufficient information. They give ranges for quality, or incomplete gradings (VS, but not VS1 or VS2). When paying for a GIA stamped appraisal, you expect accurate and reliable information.
