The good: This restaurant has a wide range of Vietnamese and Western food. We ordered the Hanoi traditional fish and the ban cha, which we both quite delicious. We also appreciated that the waiter showed us how to eat these meals using a hands-on demonstration. The bad: We didn't have a reservation so they seated us upstairs all by ourselves. We remained the only couple seated upstairs for the entire dinner, making the atmosphere of the restaurant feel very dead. Being the only ones seated upstairs, it was very difficult to have a private conversation because our waiters were attentive to a fault. They stood right behind my chair for the entire dinner, making it impossible to have a private conversation. One of our waiters was also very aggressive about making menu recommendations without knowing anything about our tastes. We're glad we didn't follow his drinks recommendations because his assumptions about our drink preferences were completely wrong.

Wir haben dieses Restaurant über Google entdeckt und als wir hin sind war es noch leer. Da wurden wir erst mal stutzig aber durften schnell erfahren dass es doch gut war, dass wir dort gelandet sind. Der Service war super, alle waren unglaublich freundlich und zuvorkommend. Zudem war das Essen wirklich sehr lecker, die Vorspeise waren die besten Frühlingsrollen die ich je gegessen habe und auch der Hauptgang war super. Zudem haben wir wegen der Neueröffnung noch 10% Nachlass auf unsere gesamte Bestellung erhalten, was uns umso mehr gefreut hat. Nach und nach hat sich der Laden dann auch gefüllt, wir waren wohl nicht die einzigen die dieses tolle Restaurant zu schätzen wussten :) klare Empfehlung!

A great little restaurant in the old quater. Spotlessly clean and presented, their western and Vietnamese food was well worth the visit. Tom, a young vietnames boy spoke great English and knew more aussie slang than us Aussies. He was interested in our travels and was well knowledge about vietnam. A place well definatly revisit.

Came across this lovely restaurant when searching for vegetarian places whilst in Hanoi. Service was exceptional - greeted warmly at the door and taken care of throughout my visit, plus the staff all speak very good English. The atmosphere is relaxed and enjoyable, and the variety of food options are excellent - ordered more food than I thought I'd eat but finished all of it as it was delicious. My first night in Hanoi and everyone at Downtown made me feel welcome and appreciated. Special thanks to Tuan who waited on me and also gave me good suggestions for what to do whilst in and around Hanoi.

Absolutely amazing meal tonight, the waiter advised on the menu and I was more than happy with my choice ☺️ Our waiter, Thanh, was very helpful and friendly. We had a chat with him after our food and he even helped us learn a couple of Vietnamese phrases. Thank you Thanh, the other young man who was serving was also very friendly, I'm sorry we didn't catch your name. Beautiful place to eat, definitely recommend visiting here whilst in Hanoi!!

The staff were very friendly and accommodating and went above and beyond to help us with issues unrelated to the restaurant. Their spoken English is very good and they genuinely care about the customers. The fusion style of food was delicious and the premises are very clean and comfortable, and air conditioned. Our dealings with wait staff Tracy, Jack and (captain) Louis were so enjoyable - we felt very well looked after by them, so much so, that we kept coming back. Helen and Paul, two very happy customers

Vraiment parfait ! J'ai adoré tout ce que j'ai gouté.. Les cocktail sont vraiment bon et pas cher, happy hour en plus... Les plats étaient vraiment excellents, soignés, et bien servis. Service vraiment sympathique, j'ai enfin réussi à trouver un lieu où le service est vraiment sympa souriant, ça me manquait depuis mon arrivée sur hanoï.... Très proche de l'hyper centre et à deux pas du lac, très bien placé... La carte est complète burger, pizza et cuisine locale... Et en plus c'est confortable... Restaurant un peu cher lorsque l'on compare au restaurants traditionnels que nous pouvons trouver aux alentours. Cependant, la nourriture est très bonne. De l'entrée au plat de résistance, nous avons apprécié. La bière pression est bonne. Le service est plutôt rapide. ------------- Restaurant a little bit expensive compared to the others restaurants we can find nearby. However, we enjoyed the food from the starter to the main course. The draft beer is good. The service is rather fast.

Quán rộng rãi thoáng mát nằm ngay giữa phố cổ nên rất dễ tìm. Nhân viên rất lịch sự và nhiệt tình, nhân viên mở cửa và chào hỏi rất tươi khi khách vừa bước vào. Giới thiệu cho khách món ăn theo sở thích của khách, các anh còn joke rất vui nữa. Món ăn ra rất nhanh, trang trí bắt mắt, vị rất đậm đà, ăn rất ngon miệng. Từng món ra một, đặc biệt khách sẽ được hướng dẫn ăn từng món một. Món tráng miệng rất tinh tế, đẹp mắt mà ngon. Cà phê trứng trang trí rất đẹp và uống chuẩn vị.

We loved the dinner we had at this restaurant! Our waiter Dee was super lovely, polite and communicative and helped us choosing the dishes. Everything came quickly and was super fresh. I can highly recommend the typical Fish for Hanoi (i don’t remember the name unfortunately). When we’re back in Hanoi, we would go here again! Greetings to Dee from Ferdi & Johanna from Germany :)

The cleanliness and service here is good. You can definitely expect a comfortable meal here. However, the food here is mediocre and the price is high. I won't call this a tourist trap, but you are putting your money towards the cleanliness and service instead of good quality food.

We had #10 and #17 and they both were phenomenal! If you are in Hanoi eat here and ask for Dee because your meal will likely end in drinking some rice wine before you head to Beer Street!

Only one or two lot in front of their restaurant

Lily and Tom (super man!!!) were the best. 2nd day open after Covid they had re opened. So nice, telling us general Vietnamese hello/goodbye/thank you. Please come visit this place. Amazing drinks and wide variety of food. Some were limited as only second day open. I'm saving this place to come back again engage in conversation and make you feel as home !

Очень рекомендую! --- Pretty Restaurant of european food (when you are tired of local food). Comfortable, tasty and cheap. Big food portions and lovely english speaking worker. The have fine draught beer. Highly recommend!

This is a lovely restaurant. I went there for brunch and ordered the fried pho and egg coffee. The food is delicious and the staffs are attentive. I wish I could try more of what they have on the menu but I have a such small appetite. I didn’t finish my food (I feel like it’s for two people).

Haben das Restaurant durch Zufall gefunden und uns für ein Mittagessen entschieden. Das Essen war sehr köstlich, hatte eine super Qualität und wurde herzlich angerichtet. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und fragte mehrmals nach unserer Zufriedenheit. Alle Bereiche sind ordentlich und gemütlich und auch die Toiletten war super eingerichtet und sauber (ist ja nicht selbstverständlich)!

Nice looking modern place. Staff worked hard. But when you visit a place in a tour group of 38 people (like we did), this puts pressure on the restaurant. To deliver food v fast (therefore pre-prepared and not hot). And to budget (affecting quality). But, come here, on your own.

La nourriture était assez médiocre, nos plats sont arrivés avec 30min d’écart. Nous avons pris une pizza cow-boy et un plat de poulet, cela n’avait rien d’une pizza c’était plutôt une tarte à la bolognaise, et le plat était très moyen arrivé froid. Par contre, rien a dire sur le service qui était excellent.

Me encontré éste restaurante cerca de mi hotel, muy buenos precios y riquísima la comida. Recomiendo personalmente la sopa de chícharos con papas y tocino. También pedí la ensalada de papaya con camarones y un tazón de arroz. Todo por 170,000 vnd. El personal habla un poco de inglés pero todos muy amables.

This is probably one of the most beautiful and well organized places i’ve been to in Hanoi to eat food. Amazing staff. Special thanks to Lily and her polite skills. Highly advise you to visit this place. 10/10

10/10 food. The team were great, in particular my waiter Tom who made me feel really comfortable and recommended dishes to me. I was disappointed as the ribs were sold out. I got the chicken in homemade sauce and wow, I am so glad I got to try it! Seriously beautiful flavours. Must go in Hanoi

My wife and I ordered the sautéed chicken with cashew nuts with a strawberry smoothie and it was very good. Our host, Dee, spoke very good English and it was a joy visiting him and the restaurant.

Had lunch here today on our last day in Hanoi. Decided to eat indoors and found Downtown Cafe and restaurant in the street of our hotel. Extremely friendly staff and thanks to Toodee we had a great experience and great food. Nem and Bahn Xeo were scrumptious. A great place to visit and eat.

Favourite place to eat in Vietnam....So much so we visited twice during our 4 days in Hanoi. Highly recommend the Bun Cha and the Mango, Pork & Prawn Salad both dishes are so fresh and delicious! Service is excellent, staff speak very good English and the interior is beautiful too!

The best service we had during our stay in Hanoi (thanks to Tam & his team). It makes a huge difference when wanting to feel comfortable out for dinner or drinks. Happy hour until around 7pm with half price cocktails / mocktails. The drinks were excellent and made with fresh fruit.

Amazing staff! I randomly stumbled on their first day soft opening. Everyone’s very warm with good English with is rare. I had the vegetarian eggplant dish which was good. Tom was my server who was sweet. Can’t wait til they fully get things started :)

I have arrived in Hanoi tonight. First time in Vietnam. The first place that I decide to visit is Downtown cafe & restaurant. It was an excellent decision: amazing food, great beer and fantastic service from Louis, my waiter! Vietnam has made the best first impression on me!

หลบร้อนไปนั่งดื่มผลไม้ปั่นเย็น ๆ นอกจากได้รับบริการที่ดีแล้ว พนักงาน (Tamy) ยังให้คำแนะนำเกี่ยวกับสถานที่เที่ยวที่น่าสนใจคือ Long Bien Bridge ซึ่งอยู่ไม่ไกลจากร้านพร้อมเรียกรถแท็กซี่ให้ เมื่อไปมาแล้วก็ไม่ผิดหวังเพราะเป็นสะพานเหล็กเก่าแก่ที่คลาสสิกมาก

One of the best restaurant I went to in Hanoi. The waiter Tom speaks English and his recommendations were all great. The mains and desserts were excellent. Also love the coffee here. And Tom will also give some lessons about speaking Vietnamese.

Highly accessibly resto that served great food. Food is a little pricey and because it’s next to a bar, it’s quite noisy. The ground floor dining area doesn’t have air conditioning, so it gets quite hot.

De los mejores restaurantes de Vietnam! La comida riquísima y la atención aún mejor. Totalmente recomendable!!! Cha ca y los noodle fritos lo mejor. El egg coffee también muy rico.

色々な種類のベトナム料理があるのと、子供が食べれそうな洋食メニュー両方ありましたので、行きました。料理は、どれも上品で美味しいものでした。スタッフのTUAN君は良く気がきき、日本人とわかると、日本語で、挨拶してくれて、台風の被害の事とかを知っていて感心しました。 お店は、清潔スタッフもみんな笑顔テキパキ。欧米のお客様が9割占めてました。
