January 2022 A nice pub which is located on Drumcondra main street. I ordered the beef burgers with all the trimmings which cost €15. The portion was generous and the mash was nice and creamy. I found there to be a good food selection on the carvery menu. This place is old fashioned inside but it does have a nice comfortable feel to it. There was no free glasses of water with the carvery which was dissapointing. Overall a positive experience with friendly staff and high quality cuisine. September 2022 update. I have gone here on two separate occasions recently and the carvery dinner has not been hot enough. I mentioned it to a staff member and she said she would pass message on to the chef. The standard of carvery has declined in my opinion and it certainly needs to be hotter. A shame really as I used to like going here and the standard was better before.
Entered the almost empty pub at 1pm on Saturday and saw that most of the table has "reserved" sign.Asked the young waitress if they are really all reserved as we were group of 6 so needed a bit bigger table. She said yes they are all reserved and we can not sit down there...Eventually we got one table. We left the pub at 2 and the pub was still almost empty and all the "reserved" tables were still unoccupied....Absolutely do not understand this policy....Also had very lovely carvery but horrible chicken nuggets and chips...I can't believe that somebody can make chips tasting so bad....It tasted like chips from yesterday warmed up in the microwave.....The pub looks lovely but we definitely won't be back!

Visited Fagans with husband and the 2 girls Sunday. Amazing experience, food unreal customer service excellent. We had the carvery, 2 turkey dinners all the trimmings, fish and chips and a southern fried chicken and chips. Portions extremely generous, quality of food 5 star. The garlic potatoes were amazing. Everything on the plates were fresh and delicious. The blonde lady serving us was so nice, makes such a change. Had planned on heading to the bar to order drinks once I put food on the tables and never got the chance there was a lady straight over to take a drinks order. Polite and unfriendly service. Staff couldn't do enough to help. Look forward to going back Highly recommend
We went in last Friday what a disappointment, we got the sharing platter which was nice. We all had cheese burgers, mushrooms on the side and a curry sauce. The burger’s were full of black pepper and and tasted like they were boiled and then deep fried! We could not understand how they could make such a mess of a simple burger. They were so tough they could of been used as hockey pucks! The chips were hard in the middle, the curry sauce tasted like uncooked flour. We did tell the staff but nothing was done about our situation. Overall a waste of money AVOID.
I used to drink in Fagan as a teenager when it was a men's-only bar. It used to be a little dingy place with old men smoking their pipes and drinking their Guinness. But now, wow, they've poured some money into it. It's a fine Irish establishment with a small bar, a larger lounge, and a small patio outside. There's a mixed crowd, men, women, young, old, and everyone seems to be having a great time. I'll definitely pop back in here for a few pints the next time I'm back in good aul Ireland ... a fine pint of Guinness was served here too.
Eat lunch here on a regular basis and love the food and shocked to see other poster complain about the staff. They are the nicest people you could hope to be served by. Paisha, Chantelle and Christine (senior staff) put a smile on all the regulars faces on a daily basis. Best carvery in Dublin

Lovely pub to have Sunday lunch. The food is huge and you probably will not eat the rest of the day because it is very tasty and a very large amount of food. The price was ok for what you get but not cheep, just ok. The staff are helpful and friendly. It is quite a large pub so you probably will find a set despite the fact that it was very busy when we were there on a Sunday, but we did find seats to enjoy our lovely Sunday lunch. If you like good old home cooking, you will love Fagans Bar and Restaurant!
Managing Staff are very rude to patrons and seem to have a superiority complex over their customers, will throw you out over very little to no reason, even if youre a loyal customer for years, black shirt wearing staff are okay but the managers dressed in white and wearing black ties are very rude to patrons, very sad as I know bertie ahern personally and he recommended the bar, I won't be hesitating telling people in the north side area of Dublin why dining/drinking at Fagans is a bad idea!
1st time visiting, at first I felt it was slightly overpriced but you definitely get value for money - the portions are generous! Everything cooked perfectly & a lovely fluffy pornstar martini on the side you can never go wrong with around this time of year. We had a pint of Smithwicks, it was perfect. The fire was going and the atmosphere was cosy but not cramped. It's a very popular spot so we went in midweek off-peak just after carvery ended. Will be back again in the new year!
Good pub, good food, no vegan option on a Sunday. Went today and only had carvery on. Corned beef, ham, turkey, chicken curry, beef lasagne. 5 different meat options. Do you have anything without meat or dairy? Er carrots, mushy peas and chips. 6.50. no thanks. Have a vegan burger on normal menu but vegans/plant eaters and those with dairy allergies don't eat out on a Sunday apparently. Had a pint while family ate then got a salad at the Centra down the road after.
Our first meal in Ireland and my first pint of Guinness. The restaurant was first established in 1907, although not the oldest in Ireland, it certainly was one of the oldest I have ever been. The service was good and the food was pretty good. Since the start of our trip I been craving steak and salad. This place gave me both! Overall, it is a pretty cool restaurant and the food is legit. If you are in the area, go check them out!
Went in with a few friends, ignored by all the floor staff for about 15 minutes and had to go the bar. Eventually my sister got a food menu, food was good but service was terrible and very rude. My friend wasn’t even given any ketchup for his chips and took about 10 mins to get someone’s attention, being purposely ignored for no reason. Overall a disappointing experience from floor staff.
I ordered a lasagne and went to the bar to get a coke. They took away my food when I was away for just a second and when I asked the barman what happened to my food, he was extremely rude! As a guest from Kazakhstan very excited to visit her first Irish pub, this experience was very disheartening.

I went to fagans tonight for the first time & I can't recommend it enough. We got a table by the door & the staff went out of their way to get us all a stool which was lovely. We each had a sharing platter (party of 6) & it was gorgeous. To top it off Ellen went out of her way when serving us, she was so friendly & just a great person! We will definitely be back!
Lovely looking bar in nice building. Outdoor area also which is good. Some of the senior staff can be quite rude though. Get the feeling because it's popular they think they can act like that. Pity as it could be a lot better....

Everything about this bar was excellent. From the bar staff, waitresses and even the blond haired lady behind the counter serving the hot food. So friendly and nothing was too much. The food was beautiful and great value. It be great if every place was run like this. Looking forward to visiting next time I’m heading to a concert. Well done

Loveliest Christmas decorations I've ever seen in a pub!! This place was lovely by all means. The staff were very kind and helpful. Unfortunately we only went for drinks, so we didn't have the chance to try their food. But, we'll definitely go back for that!!! Good pints and reasonable prices.
Was recommended this place for something to eat on our first night in Dublin by our taxi driver and kudos to Dave was amazing proper traditional pub that served me the best pint of Guinness to date and food is top notch to, all staff were superb and a credit thank you for your hospitality
The goat cheese bon bons were dynamite, the fish and chips were great, and the staff was friendly and made me feel happy and welcome to be there.

A nice pub. Out the front there’s a smaller bar that’s quieter and seems popular with locals. Out the back there’s a very large bar area on several levels with lots of seating. They also do food, which I haven’t tried, but seems popular. Staff are efficient and the Guinness is good.
Simply the best carvery in Dublin! Great variety and huge portions (even the half portion). Super tasty food! Great pub to watch a match in and also has a great outdoor beer garden. Reasonable prices and lovely staff. The a la Carte menu in the evenings is also really good.
Delicious food with generous portions and excellent warm service with a smile. A great find in Dublin northside Drumcondra. Highly recommended.

Had food here recently. I had the massaman curry which was nice. Very heavy but tasted good and portions were generous. The burger and steak sandwich got the thumbs up from my fellow diners. Would come again.
Staff try grab your plate every chance they get. I was only sitting less 10 mins. Came around 6 times. The place was empty. No reason to rush someone who paid for food.

Nice big open pub with room and a carvery lunch available. Some of the best Guineas in Dublin and you get a proper decent meal. Wide screen tvs and a projector screen usually have whatever sport is on.
Food was great here. Plenty of seating choice and plenty of choice on the menu. The table service we're lovely. The food was good - I would recommend the fajitas! The prices were very fair too.
