I had a conversation with Erin at Fitzpatrick & Co. today. My initial reason for contacting them was due to their favorable Google reviews. During our 25-minute discussion, I sought to obtain an insurance quote for three townhouses on one lot and a house on a separate lot, which are currently all insured with AAMI. Approximately 25 minutes into the call, Erin inquired about AAMI's pricing, a piece of information that I chose not to disclose. I deliberately refrained from sharing this information to ensure that the quote I received was not influenced by an existing price. And I explained this to her. Erin's response to my decision was less than satisfactory. She conveyed her dissatisfaction with the situation, saying this was wasting time as her quote could be higher and citing that AAMI's product was not a comparable one. While I understand the importance of gathering all relevant details for an accurate quote, it was apparent from the beginning of the call that I was an AAMI customer. This realization could have been reached earlier, potentially saving both of us time and frustration. The handling of the situation struck me as odd, petty and unprofessional.
