"First time I"

First time I.v ever been and most probably the last. I was shocked when I drove into there car park and realized I was expected to pay for parking. As a mother of a nine year old son diagnosed with cancer since September 2016 who struggles enough having to pay parking at the Royal Children's Hospital on a weekly basis and often for several days at a time when he is an impatient I was disgusted at having to pay at a shopping center. And if that wasn't enough to infuriate me I then discovered they lock there public toilets at 6 pm and was told by staff members I needed to take my son out to the toilets which are situated in the town somewhere. NO WAY IS IT EXCEPTYABLE TO SEND A MOTHER PUSHING A WHEELCHAIR WITH HER YOUNG SON WHO'S CLEARLY A VERY SICK LITTLE BOY INTO THE POURING RAIN SO HE CAN USE A TOILET. FYI... PEOPLE DON'T STOP URINATING ETC AS OFF 6PM!!!! IF YOU ARE HAPPY TO STAY OPEN FOR LATE TRADING SO CUSTOMERS SPEND THERE MONEY IN YOUR CENTER THEN YOU SHOULD BE EQUALLY AS HAPPY FOR THOSE CUSTOMERS TO USE THE TOILETS IN YOUR CENTER. DISGRACEFUL FOOTSCRAY PLAZA. WON'T EVER SHOP THERE AGAIN.
Footscray plaza everyday, I visit Footscray plaza everyday, and feel blessed to be welcomed by one and all who get up each and every day to work for you and with you to do all that is so important to me, you,us. From medicines to bakery products, from taking a coffee break at the cafe to home and hardware in Kmart, frozen ice-cream,fresh fruit and vegetables, best prices paid for meat and fish, to cheese and crackers, and all our bathroom and cleaning and laundry products, I make it a habit of stopping by and talking with staff and they're always glad to know that we appreciate the hard work and effort that they display and achieve for me, you,us. Just don't forget to say g'day to the great mob at Liquorland Footscray and grab a nice bottle of white wine to have with the lovely fresh seafood you got so cheaply at Coles, I would be lost without you guys, keep up the wonderful service that we come back for again and again and again, Footscray plaza everyday is not just any old plaza, it's our plaza, your plaza, everyday✓✓✓
This centre really isn't a 'shopping centre's as such. It's literally an apartment building that also houses a Coles & Kmart. A LiquorLand (to go with Coles) a Priceline pharmacy, Phone/Tablet repair & accessories store (it's looks hard to tell if it's closing down or just opened). Then there's a cafe & Chinese T/A in the foyer. It's essentially a foyer to the apartment building with the supermarket & pharmacy. The great thing about it is the toilet is much better than the robot toilet (self cleaning) on the corner at the carpark & if you spend $15 at Cole's (or Kmart I think too) you get 2hours free parking (it might be 1 hour, I can't remember the specifics) which is great cos it's undercover away from the junkies (they don't so much wander up I to this car park for some reason. I think it's cos there used to be security up there, even though there's not now. It gets a star each for undercover parking & the toilet (only open until 6pm), that's why it goes from 2⭐ < 4⭐
There are so many things that are wrong with this joint. Half the time the parking ticket machine is broken and I have to go upstairs to pay. No parents room either - I have to use the disabled toilet to change my baby's nappy, and either sit on the gross toilet or in my car if I want to nurse her in privacy. The disabled toilet is also locked and I need to find a maintenance person to open it. I can understand that, but I can never find any maintenance people around and no one is ever in their office. So I have to go into Priceline and get a nice employee to open it for me. Finally, when is the elevator coming up from Kmart going to get fixed? They've lined it with carpet now, which makes me think that it's out of the game for awhile. There's an elevator outside Kmart, way in the back, but what if it's broken? What are people with prams, the disabled and the elderly meant to do? Not good enough for a suburb with such a huge and diverse population.
The general centre is fine/average, but the wheelchair accessible bathroom is kept locked, making anyone who needs it phone the building security to use it. The inaccessible bathroom is kept open. This is a violation of australian access laws. It not only singles out disabled people, making us wait outside for someone to let us in in a completely undignified fashion, it makes the bathroom completely unable to be used by anyone with low vision, another print disability, or people who cannot read english. Which is especially a problem in footscray with the primarily immigrant population. It also has the issues of restricting access to transgender people, who often use the accessible bathroom for safety reasons as we are frequently harassed in the general ones. This could force trans people into the situation of being asked by security why they are using the accessible bathroom, forcibly outing them.
Worst experience I've ever had. I was sitting outside reading a email from my friend. A security guard said get the f off our property. He was so aggressive. I was shocked and said I've been to Coles. He told me to stay away and never come back. I was confused as what the problem was. He said I don't have to give you a reason bi..ch. I was in tears. I have a disability so maybe it was that. Then I sat up at the apartments just Up the road with my brother who was comforting me. The security comes up and says now we gotta put up with her here. I was so shaken up. I had a viewing for the apartment but have decided to not go there. I've already gone through violence and with Covid I really didn't need that. Don't go to Footscray plaza.
Just the most extraordinary, incredible, breathtaking, awe-inspiring, mind blowing, jaw dropping, breathtaking, exhilarating, tantalising, magnificent, stupefying beauty of a building that attracts the most undesirable, unexpected, unassuming, unforgettable, antisocial f-heads. K-mart and Coles have just enough stock to keep their doors open cos thieving goobers want to be petty and selfish. Security are cool same with staff at all stores and both are patient, underpaid and overworked legends who probably think it’s normal to witness violence and overdoses everyday. It’s got character…. or something…. Mr Piccolo! Get cha coffee at Mr Piccolos! There ya go. Got something at least!
* Note: Kmart is using the upstairs car park for click'n'collect * Footscray plaza is essentially home to Coles & KMart, with Priceline pharmacy + Liquorland. The Bakers Delight IS NO LONGER. It's been replaced by a similar bakery that concentrates on yummy boutique breads (all of which are absolutely delish fresh with butter, but a little costly for myself. There now a mobile phone/tablet repair & accessories store. The entrance contains the take away (or sit in) shops, one Asian style, the other just contemporary cafe - assorted coffees, fruit juices, hot pastries (pies, sausage rolls etc) with a small seating area. There's also a JSA & gym on the mezzanine, but I'm unfamiliar with those.
It’s Footscray! If you know you know Best locations for coffees, kebabs, Vietnamese, African, Japanese & Malaysian restaurants, cafes, fresh seafood, market etc etc etc the ppl entertainment is free, fun & friendly. Lots of local stores that sell almost anything & everything. Ambulance & police are forever on Paisley St…so you’ll be alright in Footscray. Many halal eateries … recommending Roti Rd, local hub cafes. Council & locals usually put on wkend entertainment in the centre. Plenary of carpark, just don’t lose your ticket! Free & safe parking above Coles if you keep your receipt from Kmart or Coles purchases over $35ish?
Love the people who work in Coles outstanding service, but the fact that the trolleys continually get pinched and never returned is annoying specially if you want to do a large shop. The carpark is free for 2 hours but only if you renew your receipt or can be quite pricey; Coles, liquor shop, chemist and coffee shop are on G level where as KMart is on the lower level. carpark is quite slim so carefull driving up to level 1, also has low ceiling! Not much else besides Coles inside Footscray Plaza and toilets are located at the back end of plaza past Coles are quite old and due for a revamp
Now this is a little more like it unlike the dead Metro West 80's mall across the street next door here. It's not going to knock your socks off this place but it does have a decent COLES and Kmart store and even a great Asian eatery as well. It can get a little cold inside because of the bad wind and rain draft that sometimes enters the entrance of the eatery takeaway's but oh well...Quite possibly the only area that's still alive in a post covid 2022 Footscray strip because there's not much else around atm. It's ok but nothing mind blowing either...So so etc.
Plaza has a Kmart and a coles as the major stores at this location, also located in the plaza is a B.W.S bottle shop and a Bakers Delight as well as a pharmacy and cellphone accessories and repair shop... Great bargains to be found at Kmart from home furnishings and needs to mens, womens and kids clothing and apparel, they also sell electrical goods like t.v's and kitchen appliances, some popular electronics, a variety of toys and some sporting goods... UPDATE: unfortunately bakers delight has closed at this location and is no longer available...
Great place for a quick stop to especially Kmart, Coles. This place also has small takeaway food shops with eating area near to the main gate. Love the Kmart store- as usual it is huge and has everything you could think of for a great price. Please note: Kmart store is down the escalator so it is like underground, your phone WILL NOT have any reception. There are free parking around or you can drive in the parking. It is ticket but from memory if you spend at least $10 in any of the shops then parking is free. Thank you.
I was absolutely appalled when I was grocery shopping at Coles, I had a security officer following me the entire shop (40 minutes) right behind me the whole way. What disturbed me was, there were 3 boys in the confectionery aisle shoplifting, putting blocks of chocolate down their pants directly in front of the officer but, he did and said nothing to these criminals and he proceeded to follow me. I don't know what kind of system they have going here. Totally mind blowing experience.
I've witnessed two assaults here in the last week - 'security' stand by and watch as they're not licenced crowd controllers and can't physically intervene. They're not in the least bit intimidating, and theft from Coles is encouraged as shoplifters aren't confronted or restrained. Police are non-responsive. Homeless/beggars/drug-affected people often congregate in the doorways, on the footpath and at the bus stop outside. Shopping here is unpleasant - I would not recommend it.
The security guards have their “friends” but make me feel unsafe because they are not dealing with the problems. Tonight 7/12/2017 there was a person collapsed at the seating area in sight of the guard. When I brought it to the attention of the guard he didn’t move and told me to call the ambulance. The trained person did not know what to do!! I will follow up with management tomorrow but the employment of security guard needs to be effectively managed before someone dies.
Great place to pick up food for your pantry. Great choices for fruit and vegetables. There is a very good continental deli. A great choice of not amd dried fruit stalls. If you want to prepare an asia meal , especially vietnamese, you will find all the ingredients that you would require, from meat, seafood and any spice or condiment that you would need for a meal to create at home. Parking is easy and there is footscray railway station across the road.
The shopping centre itself isn't that bad but it's spoilt by the inhabitants of this area. There was a dodgy guy eyeing my motorbike where I parked followed by two police cars arriving to take some people away from the shopping centre while a police helicopter was hovering over an area nearby. This area seems like a ghetto and I couldn't leave fast enough. I say shop somewhere else unless you carry a weapon and are ready to use it.
I just felt the sting of paying for a lost car park ticket after misplacing it when shopping half-asleep. $120 plus card processing fee. No number plate recognition and previous experience with the ticket machine was hit and miss with scanning barcodes if they don’t print out just right. Won’t be shopping here again. Central West shopping centre has free parking and is the same distance from my house!
Coles and kmart shopping trolleys are not fun. They don't go to the car park. They auto lock wheels as soon as you bring them out of shopping centre. This is the reason, I don't go here at all. Usually crowded and toilets close at 6. Having kids who can't control their bladders, I strictly avoid going here after 6. I like Coles and the customer support but the above reasons stop me from shopping here.
The shops around this plaza include savers, it's a fantastic savers store, huge, with rack after rack of clothing always in great condition. There's a beaut shoes area that's presorted into sizes, so time saving. The book & homewares areas are really diverse, & quite reasonably priced. I've gotten so many books there that I seriously doubt I'd get anywhere else especially at such cheap prices
It's ok, it's footscray, kmart is under ground so low to no signal on mobile, for done reason ( I guess it's because it's footscray) the middle counters are never opened just the exit counters - self served, one thing about this store they really lack staff to help on counters, most have 2 as a minimum here someone has decided that Only 1 is enough. The rest is like every other kmart.
Easy to get to, and has the basics. Coles and Kmart - what else do you need really? There's also a bottle shop and a few food stores. Parking is secure, and if you spend over $15 at Kmart or Coles you get 2hr free. Pro-tip: scan your parking ticket first then the shopping barcode at the pay station. Security is always there, but it is hit and miss for shady Footscray characters.
The actual property manager is arrogant and rude, he littered while painting a post and I politely let him know he dropped something and the man started to get up in my face for no reason, if he is running the place like he communicates. The centre is doomed to fail. Very unprofessional and the owners need to know how his treating there patrons
Good and convenient place to shop. Very hard to get parking in this area but if you purchase anything more than 15 dollars from Coles, parking is free for first 2 hours. There is not much shops are in this building. Coles, Kmart, Price line and few food shops. There is a public toilet in between Coles and Priceline. But it shuts down at 6 pm.
Usual Coles/Kmart standard stores plus a pharmacy, liquor land, bakers delight, cafe and asian take awyay plus has good seating area...a multicultural experience in plaza and surrounds, vietminese/sudanese/indian, afghani, ethiopian, somalian, turkish iltalian and the general ozzie restaurants all available in 10min walking distance...
This may be an old building but the food is mighty fresh. A far more diverse range of fruiy and vegies than the local supermarket, the central Footscray location makes it convenient during the day. Unfortunately it is not open in the late evening when I often do my shopping. The beautiful aroma of fresh food is not easily comparable.
Footscray Plaza has a good coffee ☕ shop at the seat entrance area. I have used the Footscray Priceline there in the Plaza for over a decade now, great support. And the Coles Supermarket is pretty good, but the trolleys stop working at the Plaza Door, so to get a taxi at the rank it is hard to get it there if you have lots. …
Not bad. I really love that as you enter you have two quaint food stalls to grab something on the go - rice paper rolls are to die for! The Coles here is always stocked well as is the Kmart below it. If you don't expect a whole lot and look at this place as the go-to for necessities, you'll be delighted with what you see and find.
Some security guards need to stop hassling and threatening customers. The tall black security guard at Kmart needs to lose his licence. One of the other black centre security guards with glasses and grey and black goatee needs to back off too and lose his licence too. They work together standing over people and starting trouble.
Footscray plaza has all the essentials. Coles and Kmart and some other stores. Lots of parking in the car park and it's pretty good that you can get free parking if you scan your receipt from Kmart or Coles. I've also been looking for the party size shapes for a very long time and the Coles here has it. It made me very happy.
Pretty small but a good shopping centre. Very bustling nonetheless and includes a couple of cafe's, a massive Coles, and a Kmart. Always a security guard around so the place seems to be safe and not too bad. I would only give it the extra two stars if they added more stores. But I can't say much haha.
A little busy on the weekends. I had to wait for 10 minutes at the front counter at Coles, due to lack of staff. The lady was very apologetic about the wait, which I appreciated but, I can also understand that covid-19 has disrupted the way in which we have to live in every aspect of our lives now.
Loosing parking ticket after shopping from coles and liquor land was havoc. The lady at the intercom was so rude. They at least need a facility to check the shopping receipt if someone looses the parking ticket instead of double charging. Had to pay $30 for just 5-10 min shopping …
I love footscray coles as i can walk in & i no exactly where every thing is. So i can just fly up & down all the isles its great not having to search for the things ya wanting. But when i go somewhere else it takes me forever & i dont find every thing that i am looking for. Crazy
Colourful crowd of shoppers, the Kmart and Coles are nice and big. Be careful on the travelators as they have a history of accidents. Parking will cost you a few dollars but you can scan your receipts from Coles/Kmart for free parking so keep your receipts.
I regularly go to the plaza for the supermarket (Coles), gym (Anytime Fitness) and pharmacy (Priceline). Convenient services all in the one hub. Also has Kmart, Liquorland, plus cafes and other small businesses nearby. Close to buses and the train station.
Good cheap eats. Footscray Kebabs and various Vietnamese restaurants. For some reason though the council designers can't get it right. Spent one year re-laying the same pavers that were already there and other things that have not enhanced the appearance.
Very rude person operating the intercom for the car park. And on top of that charged me $30 just for 10 minutes shopping just because I misplaced my parking ticket last night. Wish they could be nice, I don’t mind the extra charges on the parking fee.
Coles, Liquorland, Baker's Delight, Priceline, Mr Piccolo cafe & a Vietnamese take away food retailer. The place is fine, some strange types but generally all keep to themselves. Multi level carparking is free for an hour if you spend $15 at Coles.
Footscray is gradually gentrifying itself so it is inevitable that the plaza would lose its distinct personality and just become another cookie cutter franchise mall. Still good it lost the individuality that made it great in the early 2000s
Yeah I can't fault this place. It's got Savers across the road, Coles and Kmart inside, not sure how much parking costs cause I don't drive but there is heaps of space and even a little bench seat tucked away upstairs to check out the view.
A great place to shop in the heart of Footscray, always friendly staff, great specials periodically and larger than most supermarkets, not to mention Kmart as well. Have never visited the gym upstairs however I'm sure it fits in well with
Relatively new building, with renovated Kmart, Coles, and Priceline pharmacy, and bathrooms. There's a carpark, usually with heaps of free space. Only issue is there's not much else in the way of shopping surrounding the plaza.
Full of interesting characters, has a few basic essentials shops like kmart, coles, a bakery, a chemist a bottle shop and some fast food. Always has 3-4 security guards keeping an eye out for trouble and a dodgey lift.
Had what I needed, but was pretty dirty due to the high foot traffic, but that surely wasn't from 1 day... The staff at the stores were all very disinterested and not customer service driven at all Sat 15th Oct 2022
Not a place I would shop although Coles is great. Place is rather lame and full of foreigners. Toilets weren't clean and small shops serving coffee, snacks etx wasn't well maintained and service staff looked unclean
Not bad, coles always well stocked and the guys who work in the liquor land are always super friendly and helpful. Would be nice if the public toilets were open a little later though. Parking can be tricky.
Priceline, helpful with getting new card and service very helpful. Fast, no waiting, no internet connection in the building though ..but otherwise good prices at Priceline..."YOU PAY LESS PRICELINE" …
I have visited KMart in this shopping centre and I realised that the Kmart store here is comparatively smaller than other stores in Melbourne. Sometimes even the stock is also missing on the shelves.
It's okay. The council, in their usual style, likes to rip up the plaza every couple of years to re-pave it and maybe dump another one or two additional boulders there for dubious aesthetic reasons.
The lady that served me was very nice, had a good attitude and just seemed to be generally happy. It was awesome to see. I've had experiences there in the past that weren't real pleasant. Rock on!
A small local shopping centre. Is close to public transport and has access to lots of parking. Doesn’t always feel clean and can attract groups of people as a hang out. Open late and accessible.
Parking is decent though traffic is crazy sometimes. First two hours of parking is free if you shop for $15 our or from Coles or Kmart. Parking machines don't operate accurately always though.
Toilet closes at 6PM for no good reasons. There is no reason to do so in order to delight their customers with such poor services. There is nothing coming above customer satisfaction.
Smaller shopping plaza, but it's got all the basics and not too busy. Includes Coles supermarket, Kmart department store, a pharmacy and small food court. Parking is also available.
Decent Coles and Kmart, Baker's Delight and pharmacy, but not much else. Parking available for a low price and close to the station. Toilets close at 6pm and open at 6am.
I've been Shopping here for well over 22 years, the place is looking good now its been cleaned up, Good Shopping and Food to be Had Here thanks for Reading yours Maddie B
It's ok but a pity you can't get any food on Sunday as both food shops are closed and one as closed for good and not many if at all are opened outside down the street.
Shopping center.includes Coles, Priceline,Delight bread, bottle shop, Mobile repairs. A coffee shop and a small restaurant. Downstairs Kmart.Upstairs there is a jim.
It was ok in general, but 2$ for 10 minutes parking that's really too much. I know there are free parking for two hours but all packed when I got there from my work.
Not many shops and lock the toilets after 6pm even though Coles and Kmart operate way past that time. You will be in trouble if you need a comfort break after 6pm.
Visited this place for the first time today. Kmart and Coles are pretty much all that's there. Some smaller businesses are there but nothing to write home about.
Good place, you can find anything for daily life in here and fit for those who are looking for asian groceries. Easy to spot, many vietnam culinaries and kebabs.
It's relatively good. Lost some good bakeries that were affordable for the working poor. Now, it is very pricey to grab a coffee and a baked good for breakfast.
Greatly stocked coles with a bunch of stuff that you wouldnt find in other coles supermarkets. Pharmacy, bottle shop, bakery, and a good cafe. Very convenient
Nothing much to see here apart from Coles, Kmart and Priceline. Kmart and Priceline are small but the Coles is reasonable. Plenty of parking around the area.
Don't think I've ever been here when everything is opened at once. Be careful of those junkies outside the entrance though. Some of them think they're funny
Despite the recent renovations, the plaza and nearby streets feel shady and unsafe, especially at night. Better lighting and more street parking will help.
Coles and Kmart here. Bfing domething like a cart to move your purchases to a car as they have wheel locking trolleys you can't take from the centre.
Coles, Kmart, Bakers Delight, a pharmacy etc are located. easy access to buses, trams and Footscray Station. Public toilets are closed after 6pm.
Great spot however the parking machine in one of the level was partly faulty resulting in long que. The plaza itself is an awesome shopping mall.
Don't bother coming here. Once shops are out Of stock they won't restock for a fortnight. Especially Coles. Shop elsewhere. Food is out of date.
They've got a Coles and a Kmart and a Bakers Delight and a Priceline Pharmacy and loos and free parking if you spend $15 at Coles. 'Nuff said.
Great little centre to buy your household needs. Plenty of parking upstairs. You will Need a receipt of at least $15 for FREE 2 hour parking.
Kmart and Coles open reasonably late out here. Can be quite dodgy day and night here but if you mind your own business you're generally fine.
Beautiful People ensuring service is provided. Thank you and keep up the amazing work. …
The Plaza hasn't changed for many years still the same, just been updated Not many shops but the main difference i can see is the riff raff
Just opposite to Footscray station, coles and kmart in same complex along with other food joints. Well maintained. Huge parking available.
Good layout, easy for a quick shop. Also has seating with a couple of food shops to eat or stop and rest before moving on at the entrance.
Good new shops. Has free parking if you purchase something from Kmart or Coles, just keep the receipt so you can claim the free parking.
Car park is run by gronks. No pay pass and pay machine breaks down a lot. If you ever need to speak to the operators they are rude.
Just a Kmart, a Coles and a handful of independent fast-food restaurant. Paying parking can be reimbursed if buying from the stores
Came here to pick up my kmart order. Car park was dimly lit, appeared to be cleaned very infrequently. Not that many shops inside.
Great location location for the local residents but Coles is getting more way expensive than usual ..highly recommended plaza ...
Many stores and Multiple car parking spaces available. Also free for first 90 mins if soent $15 at outlest like coles, kmart etc
I shop here every day, friendly staff all round and convenience with Coles Kmart and take away or dine in all in the same space.
Not a great variety of shops. Enough to do groceries, buy basic goods from Kmart. Parking is paid, but spend $15 and it's free.
Fantastic food with an Authentic Taste! And different shops. Very affordable and will happily come again! Great quick service !
Kmart is good, find the Coles is a tad small...parking can be hard during the working week as people park and catch the train
Good kmart but the people who visit the car park are absolute grubs. Rubbish is everywhere that has been dumped out of cars.
Just your avg supermarket n kmart Paided undercover parking Loud noises Very busy And avg waiting time in line to be severed
Great little mini plaza, coles, kmart, bottle shop, chemist, and a couple of eateries make this plaza up. Easy to navigate.
It's ok. There is coles, chemist, bakery, kmart, bottle shop and toilets. Pretty basic. There is always parking available
Kmart, Coles, a bakery and a booze shop. Plus parking is free if you spend over 15 bucks. Pretty good coffee there too.
It's great that they've refurbed the Coles, Kmart, car park and internal shops. Need more security personnel after 9pm.
Good spot for grocery shopping and you get free parking for spending over 15$ at Coles. Make sure to print the receipt!
great shopping, Coles on street level with huge options and downstairs is K-Mart which has everything one requires!!!
nice place to go, avoid D K seafood, poor customer service, bad seafood, other shops in all footscray are nice.
Has a kmart, bakers delight, Coles and a few smaller shops. OK for a quick shop and had some toilets as well.
