Rating this cafe a 3.5 star. We got to this cafe at a busy time, so we were sat outside fairly quickly. The staff were friendly and took our coffee orders. There was already water on the table so we didn't need to ask. As it was a nice day, the cafe doors and windows were open so they could take orders for takeaway which was a nice touch to reduce the crowd inside. The food was quite average here to be honest, and the serving size was quite small for the price, compared to the other excellent cafes we've been to. I have to say that the presentation of the burger dish could have been a lot better, instead of a plate with the burger and chips mixed in together as you could see by the pic. I could forgive this if the cafe wasn't so highly rated but I expected a lot better in this area. We had the chicken sandwich and the beef burger with fries. The burger reminded me of a glorified Macca's cheese burger meal to be brutally honest; the meat patty was super thin with little to no taste. Its sauce wasn't special so it didn't carry the taste of the burger, and the bun was a bit dry (maybe because it's slightly toasted). And the fries that came with it lost some temperature by the time we received it. The coffees were average and importantly not watery. We had a latte and mocha, but maybe they could consider changing the cups they serve them in as it's quite hot to touch obviously; mugs would probably be good for summer and the cups good for winter.

Love coming across new cafes from friend recommendations, and this one didn’t disappoint. And I love a cafe that has a different brunch menu!! I opted for the Salmon & Beetroot with Sourdough and it was delicious! The salmon was beautiful cooked and the touches of dill and fennel were really nice. Oh and the celeriac rémoulade was a tasty surprise! The location isn’t any special but if you aren’t after location and just an all round great breakfast/lunch, this is your place. The venu has heaps of space and the tables and chairs are a great size, and comfortable. Oh and most importantly lots of good parking outside! The staff were lovely, smiley and so friendly. I don’t leave anywhere near this cafe but I will definitely be going back again!

Frank’s is just so good. Consistently delivering awesome food and coffee, we are lucky to have this cafe in the community. Living around the corner means we frequent often, and we’ve never had a bad experience in our few years of coming here. The Turkish eggs are to die for, the pork Benedict is outstanding and the chicken roll, burger and sandwiches are other highlights. They take care of the little ones with colouring in paper and crayons, with the service always being on point. Try them out, you truly won’t be disappointed.

Came for lunch to try the food and coffee. Ordered chicken katsu sandwich and coffee. Chicken is cooked perfectly, very tasty dressing, seaweed salad is added bonus. I wish the bread is also sourdough liked the poached chicken sandwich version. Coffee is really nice. Good atmosphere in the restaurant. I like the water jug and glass are both quality glassware. I’m surprised how expensive it is nowadays to have lunch out in a cafe now but still worth it given the quality of food and drink here.

This is by far the worst cafe I have ever been. Unfortunately the only place close to where I live. Coffee is sour. Food is terrible and not a lot of options, I have had the special pork and all I could taste is wine. I decided to give it another go, the staff have terrible attitude. Just a bunch of wannabe cool kids that like to call you mate and display arrogant attitude as soon as you walk in. My parter has purchased food from there twice, once it went straight to the bin and the second time it was barely eaten. Each to their own but save your self from an unpleasant experience.

great local cafe. 1st time here was a year ago, i had the burger and chips. because there was a generous serving of chips, we were allowed to take it away which was great instead of wasting food. 2nd time here we ordered chicken sandwich and zucchini fritters salad and this was just delicious. very flavoursome, satisfied and reasonably priced. 3rd time had the lamb winter salad. devine. perfect infusion of flavours. tender shredded lamb, sweet carrots, tzatziki and textured with risoni.

Booked in for Mothers Day brunch with my kids and hubby, very busy with a quick turn around. Food was absolutely delicious well presented and reasonably priced, and the free scones on the day was a lovely touch. If I am passing Cheltenham I often make a reason to pop into Franks for a coffee and something sweet to go with it. It's not located on a main road but well worth the slight detour. Today was a banana/coconut slice with a cappuccino and I was not disappointed (and never have been). The staff always to have a smile on their face. It can be busy at peak times but that's not a bad thing either and even when it is busy, I can still find a seat. If the sun is shining then even perhaps sit outside as so many do. The parking is usually OK with parking on both sides of the roads. I must get back and have something off the menu as the food looks great.

Franks is an amazing local cafe! We've been coming here for a while and it's one of our favourites. The staff are always friendly, food is delicious and most importantly they have the best coffee! I love their "Order Ahead" link on their website. Super handy to order before leaving the house and just picking up when we get there if we wanted take away. They're family friendly with kids menus and coloring in sheets, and room for prams and highchairs. I've also been here for business meetings and they're very accommodating. Great outdoor dining as well with recently updated tables and benches out the front. Highly recommend!

First time visiting Franks for breaky as a family of 5. Ordered the standard for kids-bacon and eggs. Literally came as bacon and eggs. Without toast. Asked for toast for kids, the girl clarified-one each? 3 kids - yep! She bought out two pieces of toast. Had to follow up the third piece. Then charged for a build your own breakfast, not the package toast and eggs price. Rich when $7 for a piece of toast. Coffee was good, music was a great playlist but loud and bathroom was revolting. Floor was slimy and slippery and I almost fell walking in. We won’t be back

A great vibe with warm friendly service. We checked out the menu online before heading to Frank's - and it's out of date with dishes on average being $2-3 more expensive (plus a weekend surcharge of 10%). The food is tasty, though a significant difference in portion sizes. The chilli scrambled eggs is stunning both in appearance, portion size and flavour. The avo smash is underwhelming. Service is friendly and attentive.

At $18, the popular chicken katsu sando is extremely small, like, extremely small... I was genuinely confused and surprised thinking the order got mixed up! This was the same size as my standard sized iPhone with the majority of the ingredients being bread. This was more suited for a child's meal than an adults. The flavours were delicious however. I left and made a pit stop at hungry jack's on the way home. The staff were all friendly and attentive and the cafe itself was beautiful inside with a nice vibe.

On my Google recommendations Frank's has often come up as a place to go.... So today I thought I would check it out. I wasn't disappointed... It is a popular place, but the wait for a table wasn't long and all the staff were friendly and cheerful. Good choice of food and I really enjoyed my chicken sandwich. Coffee was superb, but as usual I wanted a bigger mug... So I had 3 cappuccinos instead Thoroughly recommend this place... Off the beaten path, but parking available. I even enjoyed the art work in the loos.

What a fantastic place. Took the family here for brunch once and we kept going back. Great open atmosphere with a lot of energy about the place. The staff here are super friendly and cheery. They interact with everyone on the table, including the kids. We’ve been back three weeks in a row and tried something different from the menu each time - and every time the food has been fantastic. The Chilli Scrambled Eggs is easily the best I’ve had in Melbourne. Great little place to try if you’re ever in the area.

The food and coffee were really good, would definitely go back to try more on the menu. There’s also lots of space in the cafe so we didn’t have to wait for a table. The staff are also very friendly and attentive.

Went there weeks ago, was very busy but waiting staff was nice and friendly. Food was great, had the best coffee thick shake here. Loving it. Me and my partner both ordered the pull pork Benedict. Amazing. When it written pull pork, didn’t expecting it’s pork belly. Nicely done, great taste. And below the eggs were grilled potatoes. Very cool, and creative. Certainly it’s one of hidden gems in the local area. More important, only 5 mins from me. Definitely come back often.

Food and service here is great but 7 of us visited Franks for Mother's Day breakfast and was extremely rushed. We were pre warned about the 1 hour booking but for a special occasion and catching up with family the hour was not enough time. I think a min of 1 1/2 would be better to give us time to enjoy our meals and catch up. For the money we paid for food and drinks I think its only reasonable for at least an 1 1/2 time slot is reasonable suggestion. PS. On a good note we love the free scones

Delicious, unique flavour combinations and attentive staff. Serving both still and sparkling water on arrival was a nice touch. The serving sizes were huge; we would have preferred slightly smaller servings at a reduced price. The chilly scramble actually had a kick to it, and was well balanced by the creamy cheese.

Frank’s have a great thing going. Beautiful Cafe, friendly staff, tasty food and great coffee. I always find the menu a little limited for options that grab me & we always end up ordering the same thing every time. They used to have a decent mushroom dish option, but I haven’t seen that for a long time. Streaky bacon is extremely fatty - would love to see shortcut option available for a slightly healthier choice.

It’s been a while since I went to a cafe. The experience was not bad. The staff was attentive when I walked in. It wasn’t busy and I ordered the Turkish eggs, and coffee was course. The dish was ok, though I feel a tad too creamy. The bread was great. One thing though, the dish was served in a flat bowl so if you try to slice the bread at the side of the flat bowl, the whole thing might flip. Coffee was great and there’s free internet. Overall I’ll give it 4 star.

A nice place for a casual coffee or sunny morning breakfast. Nice spacious cafe with larger tables so you can fit you meal and coffee comfortably. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food was good quality and full of flavour. The coffee too was great, and the large is really LARGE. My wife and I revisited recently and thoroughly enjoyed the cafe space, the coffee, the service and the food. Frank's will be on our shortlist from now on.

I really like this cafe the coffee is great But today I went and was really looking forward to the Japanese chicken sandwich that I thought I had ordered … Then this mayo chicken sandwich arrived to the table, didn’t realise there were 2 different chicken sandwiches on your menu - you should probably clarify with customers when they’re ordering, my guess is most people wouldn’t expect 2 versions of the same thing to be on there

Wonderful café, thank you! Open on Sunday, we had a great time at Frank's: food was delicious, especially the mushroom mix and the carrot Cake. Excellent tea selection, Chai and Turmeric Latte. 100% recommend for anyone wandering around Cheltenham!

My partner and I received a 50 dollar gift card so we decided to try it out. I got a matcha latte and a poke bowl. The poke bowl with salmon was delicious and the portion was very generous. Matcha latte was alright, the matcha powder was not fully dissolved yet. My partner got a long black coffee and a burger with fries. Everything we ordered was made with fresh ingredients and made with a lot of care and eye for detail.

Have absolutely loved this place for years since when I was a local to the area! Don’t live as close anymore, but always love coming in for my favourite chicken katsu sando (it’s literally amazing) when I am in Cheltenham. The staff are so friendly, and will always go out of their way to have a chat with me. Couldn’t recommend this place more!

Cozy and super friendly staff. Even sitting close to the kitchen and bathroom, the music and good energy of the place makes me feel good. We had Benedict and it was the most tasty that I’ve ever had. Really nice pork slice, with perfect poached eggs and crispy chips and herbs of the Benny. Love it! The coffee was delicious too! Strongly recommend to visit this place! Just make sure that you book your table.

Absolutely delicious!!! The fries were perfectly seasoned, and the Katsu Sando was so yum! New favourite cafe. Compared to a lot of cafes, this place has really good value food. You get amazing quantities for a reasonable price. The staff were all nice and showed genuine interest for feedback. The service was quick and we had our food in no time at all! Would 100% recommend this place to anyone!

Been coming here every now and then for 3 years. Food and service stayed consistent at a very high level. Food is served fast with generous proportions. Came today again for a busy Sunday brunch, had to wait a little even with booking. The kind staff compensated us with free drinks and checked in on us throughout our meal. Even saw another staff pour water for a dog

After exploring many cafes in Melbourne, I can confidently vouch for the food at frank’s. The level of complexity is amazing, not your typical smashed avo. The “mushroom” is my favourite dish. Complimentary sparkling water is a plus too. Actually spoke to the chef and he has a restaurant background, which explains the techniques and complexity of each dish.

Frank’s has become a regular. All the friends who have joined me have also enjoyed their meals, coffee and great service. Thanks Frank’s.

Great place in an old traditional strip shop area that has been rejuvenated thanks to the amazing Franks and the apartments close by. The place is buzzing on the weekends and for good reason - the food is amazing. Plenty of seating inside and out and a reasonable wait for food at peak times. In the back blocks of Cheltenham yet worth finding.

Love love LOVE this Cafe and it is clear everyone else does too. Make sure you book as they are always quite busy. Being busy, however, the service does not suffer and now does the food. Love coming here with our 11 week old baby when we can!

Decent cafe. They have a basic kids menu. But their sandwiches are a tad bit greasy. We had the Roasted veggie toastie and Ruben sandwich. Both were decent. Their coffee thick shake was amazing! Might come back to try their coffee.

This place is packed on Sunday mornings and for good reason too. Staff were friendly and helpful, and their barista spins some fantastic milk for the coffee. Worth a visit!

Quaint little nugget of a cafè. Good coffee. Good food. Good service. What more can you ask for? It's now a go to spot for me. The vibes don't get any better than here.

Coffee and Chais are the best. The food is deliciousand very good for the price, portions are decent size. The girls are very polite and friendly.

Such a sweet cafe with great staff and waiting service. We were so well taken care of when we attended that that alone makes us want to go back.

Friendly service, good coffee, amazing food. I had the lamb pita - very generous portion size for $17. Definitely worth checking out!

Coffee was 10 stars and so was the service. Food was good but did not stand out. Would still go there again to try something else.
