I would have loved to rate this a five, everything was so beautifully done at such a beautiful funeral home and the staff was excellent and nice and kind through our hard times. My mother passed away and we chose the cheaper plan so it can go along with what we can afford, but it was mentioned to us way to late that because we chose the cheaper plan we could not engrave anymore words to her tombstone. Now I do accept the fact that I mentioned it too late myself and that I should have said something before, but I had many other things on my mind and that occurred to me to ask at the very end when we were signing her papers. I also note that we have never had anyone die so close to us so we had no idea what we were doing or what was required when it came to making a funeral. It would have been so nice to go over those very small details and a warning would have been great that because we chose that plan no more words could be added and we could have done something before everything was ready and set. It's something small but also something that we would have loved on her grave stone because I mean her grave stone is forever in that way and now there is nothing we can do about it. Anyways I am still appreciative about the service and everything that was done for my mother and feel blessed to have put her here in this funeral that we truly do like
In such a hard time everything was done very professional. The people very kind and empathetic. The only thing I would have liked to know was charges at the time things were done. For instance when discussing days for services. Due to a Holiday we had to schedule for a Saturday and agreed but wasn’t told there was an additional fee to have the service on Saturday and it was almost 1000$ more in over time for staff. Not that it changed anything but it was already a stressful time and not expecting the serious upcharge was shocking at the time. I feel like going over prices as planning is being done would make things smoother and not lay everything out and BAM. Asking if someone is to be embalmed but not saying it’s 900$. I just think if it’s not already prearranged being open with the charges upfront would make things smoother and people aware of the expenses as they come rather then making all the decisions and then questioning charges later. It became awkward when i questioned the charges. I just wanted to know what the breakdown was and it felt as though I offended them asking. None of the arrangements changed due to fees but I wanted to know what the fees were. I’m still happy with the arrangements just feel that would have been then only part done differently
I've been acquainted with Mt. Olivet since I was a little kid when my uncle was buried there in the 50's. Many of my family and friends are there now. When my dad died in 1990, I bought enough plots there for the family. I moved my deceased sister to the Mt. Olivet family plots from another cemetery in 2015. I'm convinced that I could not have accomplished that process without the direct help from the folks at Mt. Olivet as the other cemetery didn't want to cooperate. My mother just passed this January 2021 and her arrangements were very respectfully handled during this difficult time for me and the world. Covid and the Texas ice storm wreaked havoc on the situation. Mt.Olivet absolutely went the professional way to reset the service twice for extreme (for Texas) weather in order to protect the attendees from freezing. My mother was 98 and so all the folks coming are old. If I had to do it all again today, I wouldn't change a thing. These folks are true professionals exhibiting compassion every minute.
Greenwood handled my father's funeral in January 2016 that he preplanned several decades prior. The staff was courteous, caring and attentive. The florist sat with my mother for hours helping her make selections and even sharing a cry over our loss. Cindy, the catering specialist handled the food and helped us make a wonderful choice for the reception after the funeral in the stellar Lone Star Room. All of the logistics were handled, the military was there even though we were originally told they wouldn't be able to attend, the funeral director went above and beyond to ensure military honors were provided. This Ft. Worth institution remains at the top of the game because the service they provide, Greenwood has never stopped serving families to rest on its laurels.
We were treated like we had the plague by the lady at front desk when we dropped off my mother's clothes. Then I had to beg to see my mother prior to the graveside service we were forced to have. I had to pick the casket out on line and I wanted to make sure everything looked good. The funeral home lost all compassion with families during this time. My mother deserved so much better than this. Before you meet one on one and you still should have been able to do that. The lady that worked with us the day of the funeral was like having sgt Schultz with us watched every move we made and at the end when I was telling my mother goodbye I stepped away from the casket and she said "you done now". COMPASSION that is your business.
While no funeral is a joyous event, the folks at Greenwood / Mount Olivet Funeral Homes went above and beyond to make ours a bearable one. Everyone with whom we interacted exhibited great care, patience and attentiveness throughout the entire funeral experience; most notably, Lauren Spence and Terra Lorusso. They were absolutely wonderful, from start to finish. They both had their work cut out for them, as the family issued many requests, but they were instrumental in coordinating even the most seemingly insignificant details with the utmost professionalism and care. We are truly thankful.
If you are in need of the services provided or are just planning for future use of these services, this is the place to be. Specifically Jamye Bowers, is the person to see. She is amazing, organized, caring, loving, friendly, and just plain blessed with her abilities to provide the very best and unbelievable service! She made the impossible happen with every single request. She made a sad and shocking situation bearable and sometimes even enjoyable. She is a gift from God and an asset to Greenwood/Mount Olivet! Thank you so much for everything! Wish I could give you 10 stars!
I want to thank Greenwood Funeral Home from the bottom of our hearts for making the funeral of my mother so wonderful and flawless. A big thank you for all your kindness and support. You made a difficult time much easier. The funeral was lovely, everything carried out to perfection. All this was due to the work and diligence of Sufiya Sparkman our Funeral Director. Sincerely, The Cano Family
The staff at Greenwood Funeral Home was incredible to our family. We couldn't have asked for a more professional yet warm/inviting experience through each step along the way. We felt as though we had known our funeral director for years - how they do what they do is a true calling. Our family was blessed for their kindness and help during a very difficult time.
Our Director was David Moore ! We cannot say enough good things about David he went beyond the call of duty to make sure that we were taken care of and felt good about our decisions. My daughter and I will always remember The kindness that David showed us. I highly recommend David Moore ! Sincerely, Lottie Holmes & HEIDI Brady
During our difficult time with losing a loved one, Terra was such a blessing to our family. She was very attentive, understanding, patient, and friendly! I've found a life long friend in Terra and have nothing but the upmost respect for Mount Olivet for caring for our family like they would their own. Thank you
On behalf of the family of Mary D. Olivarez we would like to thank Mount Olivet for the professional and compassionate service that we were provided during our difficult time by Funeral Director Roseanne Rodriguez. Rosanne was a blessing to work with and we will never forget her. Thank you Roseanne!
My mother and stepfather had prepaid and made all the decisions regarding how their services would be handled, but Greenwood helped in the final decisions and provided all the services we needed to have a nice memorial service for each of them five years apart.
Maria Nichols was our Funeral Director. She was attentive to all of our needs. She was very helpful during an extremely difficult time and made sure that we were well taken care of from the time we met to make arrangements through the actual funeral itself.
Everyone we dealt with was kind and compassionate. Every effort was made to ensure that our needs were met. The individual we were working with ensured we understood all the options presented and openly presented pricing to assist with decision making.
This funeral home is excellent. The way they help you through the process is amazing, from the beginning through the end. You really don't have to be worry about anything, they will be with you taking acre of everything. Lots of care and compassion.
We were blessed to have Terra Larusso as the funeral representative. She was wonderful, patient and very thorough. She was always polite when I called her for questions. Thank you, Terra for your assistance during one of the worst days of our lives.
The staff were very helpful and respectful of our needs. The grounds have beautiful Christian sculptures and was the perfect place to lay our loved one to rest. Looking for a Christian (Catholic in my case) cemetery in Ft. Worth, this is the place.
Thank you Greenwood team! Appreciate everyone’s support from Roseanne Rodriguez to the folks behind the scenes. The local flower department located in the funeral home was amazing and delivered on everything we ordered and discussed. Thank you!
I could nitpick and find a couple of things I wish were different, but on the whole Greenwood did a really good job. Nothing major to complain about. My mom had paid and planned her funeral years ago and that certainly made the process easier.
Very unprofessional! Another Deceased Man Video Was Played At My Father Funeral, No one Apologized about the incident;Lack Of Communication. A family member was needed to help fix the funerals issues ! VERY BAD EXPERIENCE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND!
If I were to be honest it would be harsh …but our family agreed once we found out the reason there were so many mess ups was because we were the directors first clients…I understand no one learned what they know on the first try , but I do
Just attended a service. Supposed to show video as it was created with the music! Did not happen. Very disappointed. Carl should have honored the grieving and done what was expected. Why would someone take the time to create a video with
I had to bury my mom In February I had her services at mount Olivet and Sufiya was my director she was amazing and very caring. I can’t say enough good things about them and hope they made me feel thru one of the hardest situations of my
Everything went pretty well under the circumstances of all the restrictions in place due to the Corvid 19 virus. However they forgot the casket spray that was ordered. If I hadn’t known about it being ordered I wouldn’t have missed it or
Worst funeral home experience ever. Poor Communication, crazy high prices, rude staff and generally an awful experience. Disrespectful of family at the grave site was beyond comprehension. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE.
Everyone was so kind and helpful at Mt. Olivet. David Moore was so professional and kind. Carlos Rangel was most helpful also. They all were just so kind to us and helped in every way. Sincerely, Joan Miracle
David Moore was such a kind and understanding man. He helped my brother and myself with understanding details of the process of burying my Father. At a very difficult time, he was wonderful, understanding and
I was impressed with the funeral directors attention to detail. He stayed to be sure flowers were placed on my my Dad's grave. I followed up the next day and was pleased with the placement of the flowers.
Greenwood/Mount Olivet was fantastic. Especially Lauren . Everything went as planned< and I was very pleased with the way my husband looked.I was very pleased. Thank you Lauren, Mount Olivet/ Greenwood.

All of my wishes and expectations were met with compassion, efficiency and a sense of relief from my overwhelming grief. I felt like Mt Olivet was my family, they journeyed with us.
I lost my precious son last month. During the worst time of my life, Reggie treated my family with the utmost care and compassion. He patiently guided us every step of the way.
Staff was very kind and helpful at this hardest time in my life. Everything was perfect. Thank you Scott. And thank you to Rachel at the front desk. She was very nice
