Garfield park is a big beautiful city park. A lot of of people enjoy this park for family and friend picnics, and recreational activities. The park has play lots, sports facilities and plenty walking trails, ponds, activities Fieldhouse and a special Conservatory for the public. I recommend busy and fun to the public.
It's such a pretty park. Especially for taking walks or jogging. The only reason I did not give it more stars is because in this giant Park the bathrooms are never open. That makes it difficult to enjoy yourself for very long. Plenty of Big giant geese & squirrels to feed. Fishing looks very nice.
I thoroughly enjoyed walking and looking at all the plants in this conservatory on a cold winter day. This place was warm and provided mental relief that was badly needed. This place accepts donations only. You can donate whatever you can donate to enter the conservatory.
Love this park as a place to go walking, relaxing and bird watching. The do great job of keeping the park clean every single week. This a landmark park that will be getting significant upgrades and expansion in the next few year that will transform the entire area.
I love this park. Come filled with a loving heart because it is filled with people doing hard drugs. Mostly through a needle. The city is not maintaining this park at trees are not trimmed, trash is all over, and trails have not been touched in years.
Loved visiting - had lots of beautiful plants and it was amazing to see some of the houseplants that I keep personally in a more "natural" setting growing HUGE! Would highly recommend if you're obsessed with houseplants like I am. They have
Honestly it's beautiful but there is alot drug addicts around using be careful you will see alot of used drug paraphernalia. Like dirty hyper dermic needle, pipes, dealers, but they don't bother you . Unless you are looking for trouble it's
This place is amazing. I wish it were open. I'm hoping it opens this winter because nothing is better for a Chicagoan's winter soul than a stroll the this green wonderland. I saw the Gardens of Monet today outside of the conservatory.
It's ok in the daytime. I wouldn't hang around this spot at nightfall though. But then again I've never had a bad situation confront me personally. I see the drifters & grifters spread out in the area. They've never bother me though.
We drove to walk around but skipped visiting as it was full of trash and homeless tents. Didn’t feel safe to visit with our family. Disappointing such a beautiful park in such a state of disrepair. Went to Humboldt park instead.
The biznoom!!! Although depending on who you are you might have to duck, Dodge ,Bob and weave...✌ Or you could wind up in the shootout I just keep it moving. …
I wanted to enjoy the park and the pool on a hot summer day, but was shocked about the crowd there. Got off the bus, saw some terrible things and immediately ran to the next subway station.
Beautiful and informative curatorial tour of major plant biomes. Very strong collection of palms and cacti. Signage and materials for establishing contexts could be stronger. Historic
Amazingly huge, beautiful park in the city. Ponds, walk and bikeways with a gorgeous view. Steps to the famous conservatory filled with exotic plants and flowers from around the world
The park and buildings are beautiful and it's near the conservatory which is great. But the neighborhood is the greatest. just stay on track to what you want to go see.
As you can probably tell from the pictures this is not the kind of park you want to take your family to. while we were there we heard gunshots in the middle of the day.
This is just a site seeing location. If you're into old buildings, this will be for you. This is always a gym as well, which can be used for multiple purposes.
I love this park after just one visit for a race. I just wish the city would invest more in parks on the west side. Everyone should visit to raise awareness!
I used to go fishing there, until the body of the baby was found in the water, but if you my your business it's OK, but will not be out at night alone..
Excellent place to visit. The show house is gorgeous with its Christmas snow day theme! Enjoyed all the other houses as well with many plants in bloom!
Nice park to visit with a really beautiful conservatory. Quite and great for a weekend trip or family outing if you're the outdoorsy type.
A good place to enjoy with your family and learn about plants, my kids were happy to be there it was a beautiful experience..!!!!
I had wonderful time seeing different types of flowers and plants with my gf. Good place for a date and a nice afternoon walk!
Didnt really know how beautiful this park was, it's a hidden gem but not so hidden just feel like ppl take it for granted
Love this place. Great to visit year round. Escape the winter in a green paradise. Explore the outdoors in the summer.
It was closed, but I still explored a bit. Can't wait to tell to this beautiful conservatory when it's reopened!
Beautiful park but you can tell the homeless have established a strong presence here. Daytime seemed fine.
Simply beautiful! The flowers and plants are amazing. This place is big with lots to see and enjoy.
