Gladesville Library is one of the "satellite" libraries of the Ryde Library Service and it is a great and convenient library adjacent to the Gladesville Victoria Road commercial strip. Staff are always helpful, borrowing is breeze with an automated machine and there is always a good range of books and research materials as well as computers, magazines and a decent children's section. But best of all are the online services this library network offers. Firstly, you can log from home (or anywhere) and search the catalog and order any book in the collection and have is delivered to one of the satellite libraries for free. You will go in a queue if it's a popular book. Extending the loan can also be done on-line. Secondly, the library offers Zinio (a world-wide service) where you can download the latest editions of popular Australia and and International magazines on to you iPad, computer or e-book reader and it's free! Will never have to buy Australian Gourmet again! Thirdly is the e-book collection that can also be downloaded on iPads, etc using the Overdrive app on your iPad. And finally, after a revamp and refresh there are areas for quiet study or sitting in a light-filled area to read. Although it's one of the smaller of the Ryde libraries it is a true local gem for bookworms!

Fantastic local library! Great selection of books. Very friendly and helpful staff make such an effort with their weekly Rhyme Time by creating a safe place for children to play, sing songs and interact with other little kids. This library is a great asset to this community :)

Nice airy reading areas, and volume of books on shelves are on par or average for most NSW council ones. Latest books are now relying on Libby electronic media so old fashion print is taking a backseat like everywhere.

Good place to study but the librarian has an extremely loud speaking voice that can be heard throughout the entire library. Very hard to focus when she is helping a visitor with an issue.

Good library, favorite for studying. Usually quiet and vacant, good tables and chairs, individual power sockets. Wish it had longer opening hours.

The lady at the front desk was not listening to me or my partner's request. Also does not know what she is talking about. 2pm, 15th of June 2021.

Lots of good materials for kids. Look at the hours before you go, they have limited days/hours of you want to go outside standard working hours.

Great village library with natural light and lovely ambience. Free parking out the back, good collection and recently refurbished. Love it.

Dated small library that often doesn't have the books you need. However it's a good place to study as there aren't many people
