Located in tbe Gugulethu township it's a memorial to 7 who eere killed in theapartheid era. It's ok.. but DO NOT VISIT unless on part of a organised tour. Do not enter this township or others, without a proper guide/tour. These are dangerous places, especially for tourists. The memorial hasn't had any upkeep which is a shame.
The site is a memorial of seven anti-apartheid group of men between the ages of 16 and 23 that were shot and killed on 3 March 1986 by members of the South African Police force. It's a remainder of the battles between SAPF & the anti-apartheid activists. Visit the site to get the intimate feeling of the event of the day.
The memorial 7 still there, part of the memorial is vandalized by unknown people. Area is a hotspot. Would bot currently advice to visit it alone . rather first report at Police station for advice.

Gugulethu Memorial is a reminder of where we come from as South Africa. It reminds us of those of us who laid their lives to oppose the Apartheid regime.
It was great experience and it's always good to see the place.

Went here during a Townships tour. We stayed with the guide, and hopped back on the bus after taking photos. Interesting South African history.
The idea of having a memorial is very great except the location is notoriously known for robberies. Otherwise a great place to visit.
Back dating to the days of apartheid were group of young men were executed by the police on their fight for freedom for this country
I enjoy being there it comes me down because i am usually around my causins and gugulethu its a place to be for me and i am happy .
Reminder of where we South Africans come from, as the name suggests, 7 members of South African community were killed on that spot.
You end up knowing about what happened to those people in the apartheid era, it helps know your history and more knowledge
Very nice place for people who stays but as for visiting from another country or city,I suggest not.Area is very dangerous
Honestly the best gelato & sorbet in Cape Town. Their prices may have increased but the portion sizes are very generous.
This place is very cool and every tourist they want to know about the past of this place to me it's interesting place
Filthy, neglected roads with potholes. Destruction to monument. Overcrowded. Not safe under Covid-19 regulations.
The heritage site is being broken down by ill disciplined individuals, who have no respect for history.
Inspiring. But the old mantra of location, location location comes into play. Pack your pepper spray
This place remind us how intolerance can never be tolerated when it's come to freedom of expression
Memorial stones for those loved ones who lost their life fighting for GUGULETHU for a better place
Dirty streets. Potholes. I wonder if the area is not part of the City of Cape Town municipality.
We were just passing by on our way to Mzoli's, easy to identify and information accessible
The place is awesome, not a place that you can walk relaxed with yuur phone on your hand
it reminded me of the great sufferings of the past by those who fought for change
Everything is so dirty. There's no pride in it being declared a heritage site.
It gives you the perfect picture of what happened to those who died back then
It's one of those places that hv a rich history, when in Gugs you must visit
Nice history and remembrance of heroic souls
