I was at the tap shop yesterday enquiring about getting a replacement part for “bath/ hand shower diverter”. The person i was speaking with quickly recognised the brand and let me know they didn’t sell it but also where did. I was able to locate the replacement part, that i now know is called a diverter piston valve assembly, at the recommended shop, and i am very grateful for this. An hour later i went back to the tap shop to enquire about some kitchen taps and although the person who served me this time was different, he did ask how i got on locating a replacement part. I will be buying all my extra tap ware from here and would recommend it to anyone. Please note that 5years ago, when i did my last renovation, the service was not this great. I do hope that some customer service training has gone on, company wide, as yesterdays service you couldn’t fault.

Since 1999 I have bought timber, paint, brushes, rollers, trays, tools & a trolley, gyprock, ladders, tiles, drains & pipes, mowers, garden supplies, interior and exterior taps, shower fittings, pop up plugs, vanities, roofing supplies, doors, hinges, handles, lights and bulbs, dishwasher, microwave. I have shopped at every showroom in Winbourne Rd and at every shop the staff have been exceptional both knowledgeable, pleasant and patient with my questions. As well as excellent service the best thing for a non driver is FREE delivery - I could not have taken the 8 x 20 litre tins of paint and Sikkens deck finish home on the bus, or the ladders or $2,000 worth of deck timber but it all gets driven to my house by pleasant and efficient drivers at the allocated time. The quality of service is rare these days.

Customer serviced needs to be fixed at the H&G painting supplies. The 2IC was completely rude over the phone and than when I went in shop, made her staff member stop serving me as she wanted him to prepare for a delivery. Customer service is the most important part of a business and i would recommend H&G assess the competency of who their 2IC team leaders are, if they are meant to be leading by example. There should never be a time when you make your staff and customers feel uncomfortable just for giving GREAT customer service which is what her team member was in the middle of doing when we where rudely interrupted. Will never recommend H&G paint, as for the other shops i have had pleasant experiences with.

H&G need to consolidate their real estate in Brookvale and create a super centre, with parking. Service is awful (talking doors and locks here), parking is awful for all. It's crazy. They own so much realestate they could build a warehouse that rivals Bunnings. They will go bust if they carry on. Don't get me started on their website. Sort that out and increase profits immediately. (To be fair the Bunnings website is awful, however not as bad as H&G's.). I was about to order $1500 worth of door hardware. I walked out. (I am not waiting for over 20 mins to get pricing. Display the pricing on the shelves!)

Having bought many kitchen, laundry and bathroom fittings from H&G in the past, I needed a Blanco basket weave replacement plug for the kitchen sink. The showroom had many Blanco tubs on display, all fitted with the exact plug that I needed. The female in charge of the showroom told me that she had none in stock and she refused to order one for me. She suggested that I shop for one at Bunnings. She then just walked away from me to serve another customer. After sales service is something this woman completely disregards. I will never return to H&G.

Bought 78mm light globes but due to faulty manufacture theirs were 80mm. They bent their fitting in the shop to make them fit and then told me my light fitting must be faulty. The arrogance is unbelievable. The globes were no good to me so left them at the shop and didn't get a refund. As the guy behind the counter said, "there's 7 electrical wholesalers in the area". I'd recommend JR Turk. They were great!

Its H&G. They're not known for their service. They're not really meant to be. So make sure you go in knowing more than the sales reps or you'll get burned. Most of the people there are basically put out to pasture as they're usually ex-tradies who couldn't cut the mustard or just retired anyway. I find the younger folk more responsive but less knowledgeable than the older staff. Makes sense I guess.

Fantastic service yesterday at 75 Winbourne rd when I needed two new spring returns for door handles that were something like 15 years old . A younger man there asked if he could help and he went out of his way to find the parts and what's moor fitted one whilst I did the other . Could not ask for better service . Super Great! drove up from Bowral and saved a bunch on toilets then came to pick up ,smooth easy! ended up buying a custom shower grate and Ryan and Brian and the young bloke? got it in a couple of days called me before I expected and i was able to get everything ,saved lots and had an overall Professional friendly experience. Just had the worst customer service experience at Hardware & Genral Brookvale. Dave in the doors and locks could use a few general tips on genral manners rather than speak than speaking down to people. Even after pointing out how rude he was he still continued. Definitely would recommend going elsewhere.

To the sarcastic employee at the Brookvale store who made me feel stupid for not knowing door hinge terminology.... Shame on you. You can be sure that I will take my door hinge and my money and go elsewhere. Thanks to the waiting customer who explained to me what the best course of action would be.

Very comprehensiv offering of all things painting and renovating. I bought some not so common staff (epoxy filler and coating) and not all my questions could be answered by staff. They were more than happy to dial up manufacturer support line and let me talk to them.

Outstanding customer service from George at the Hardware store in Brookvale for door handles etc - so helpful, so resourceful and patient. Called back when he said he would and emailed later with the follow-up. Would not hesitate to use H & G again!

Range is not as big as competitors. Prices not cheaper. Not much service on Saturday. One older staff woman taping up appliances was disdainful of an Asian customer which was embarrassing to witness and totally unacceptable in this day and age.

This review is purely based off the customer service from Jeannie. She has such an attitude, not willing to help, lazy, and talks to customers with disrespect. Most of the other staff are so lovely and will only deal with them in future.

I always seem to pay much more here than buying anywhere else. I mean these guys charge triple the price of bunnings, Eg plumbing fittings, guttering components. No longer my first choice destination, sorry.

Just have give to Charlene in the bathroom and vanity's section 100%. From her friendly disposition, to her truly professional advice and product knowledge .. she's just an absolute pleasure to deal with!

Appreciated the very helpful staff member at roofing section. I was able to purchase exactly the materials required at a very reasonable cost. Better experience than searching on net.

It's not a typical hardware, it's spread out over a number of buildings along the street, so parking can be an issue depending where you need to be. Staff and products are all good

Store has many buildings each with their own specialty. EG. Plumbing, tapware, paints , locks, lighting. Reasonable pricing. More staff to assist than the super hardware store.

We use this business as our Company is close by we use multiple sections of the business depending on what's required for different jobs so we have a good working relationship

Receptionist at head office is incredibly rude, I called with a query and was told she wasn't interested in assisting me and hung up. You should look at replacing this woman!

Always excellent. Free delivery (even for 2 touch up cans which a supervisor hand delivered), cheap, good staff. Using them for many years.
