Came here last night/earlier this morning (Sunday, 4/17) around 3am with a friend to get some slices of pizza. After I placed my order, I stepped aside to wait for my pizza to be ready. While waiting, a belligerent guy in line to order pizza assaulted another guy standing behind him in line. No one expelled the guy from the pizzeria. Within minutes of that first assault, the friend that I was with who was standing in front of me, was assaulted by that same belligerent guy. He punched my friend in the mouth and knocked him to the floor. He then tried to go after him again while he was down and I was trying to help him up, that guy knocked my glasses off of my face and broke them. When I got my broken glasses back on, I didn't see the guy again. No one in the pizzeria, neither the staff nor patrons, were at all concerned about the two assaults that had just occurred. I didn't expect patrons to intervene, but I was greatly disappointed and upset that no one working there came over to us to ask us how we were or if we wanted them to call the police. Instead, they just ignored us and didn't do anything. That is terrible business and customer service. I will never go to this place again. I feel unsafe there now and know that I can't rely on the staff to do anything about that because they seem not to care.

Visiting from Texas and decided to order from this place because it was late and “Italian” food sounded good. Unfortunately I didn’t look at google reviews prior to ordering on UberEats. It was hands down the WORST food experience I’ve had on my 3 week vacation of “food adventures” while traveling to different states trying new restaurants. I’d have honestly rather eaten McDonald’s instead. Absolutely no flavor. We got 3 different dishes and all 3 were gross. We only received ONE set of silverware! The breadsticks were extremely dull. They tasted like they were old but reheated and moist, it’s hard to explain. I read another review that said it seems like these are freezer meals….I agree 100%!!! I wouldn’t EVER give this place another try again or recommend it to anyone. $50 down the drain… I sure hope people read these reviews before ordering in the future. No clue how this place is even in business still. Ugh 12 states in 3 weeks and definitely the worst of all meals.

So I order from here already 4 times first time it was good. Second time they burn the pizza I didn’t want to complain on here so I called them and just tell them if they can please do not burn the pizza because it didn’t taste how usually test so I go head and order a 3 time and the pork or whatever is it they didn’t cook well so not to go long me and my wife had the worst pain in the belly and i look at the rest of the pizza and I found out they didn’t cook the pork well. And if u tell them to cook it well they burn the pizza not sure wit what intention they do but if they can’t cook a pizza please take it out of u menu. I don’t usually write this review but I gave them 4 chances and the last is the pic that u see but never ordering from u guys hope u guys had inspection because my box have black marks that were stink if u put u nose close to it. Ordered from this place for the first time on UberEats for delivery and boy, was this a disappointment. Two friends and myself were craving some delicious Italian food, so we wanted to get the family pasta dinner deal. Which sounded great for three people, considering you get a choice of one app, one pasta, and one salad for $40. The restaurant explains that it’s designed to feed 3-4 people. When our food arrived, we found a measly 5 raviolis, 5 spinach/feta triangles, and the worst little caprese salad I’ve ever seen (it was a few slices of tomato and mozz on top of a bunch of wilted spring mix - which is not even how caprese should be prepared). The ravioli tasted like it was frozen and heated up. Oh yeah, and the “family meal” came with one very small breadstick. What a scam. This meal is barely enough to feed two people. Save your money and go somewhere else.

The food from Italian Kitchen was largely underwhelming and disappointing. We paid over $100 for food (+delivery) and didn’t finish a majority of our meals leaving us very hungry and with a lighter wallet. The Alfredo sauce tasted a lot like roux and not Alfredo sauce, the garlic bread/breadsticks were over cooked, chewy & largely flavorless, and my kids (who absolutely love mozzarella sticks) couldn’t even finish them because of their taste. The only good meal we had was the cheese ravioli. Don’t waste your $$ (I wish I could get mine back) - find somewhere else to dine.

DO NOT GO HERE. Yesterday at around 6:30pm I was mugged, he came up behind me and started reaching in my pockets. Luckily he only got some cash. The employees, NOBODY called the police, despite my yelling to do so. They did NOTHING except scurry to the kitchen and hide. They have group of men selling deodorant and socks outside their entrance, most likely illegally. This restaurant is NOT safe. DO NOT GO. I have filed a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau. The Metropolitan Police Department of course like always did nothing when I contacted them.

Very surprised that the prices increased so drastically, that what was merely weeks ago only $25.00, is now nearly $47.00? If your prices have to double in order to “compete” with surrounding business (that is much better priced and with a more spacious atmosphere) than perhaps it’s time to reevaluate operating expectations. Overall disappointed and won’t continue coming here despite being in the neighborhood for awhile. I hope whatever is wrong is figured out, and that the Owners are able to find their roots.

Really bad -- 2.49 per topping and they put almost nothing on it. 2.49 for sausage meant 8 small cubes of sausage on a large (16 inch) for us. Really bad cheese, had to just throw the leftovers out. We were not looking for anything special, We ordered out of hunger, desperation, and it did not satisfy at all. Do not know how the ratings on this were not low, I guess you can not trust crowd sourced ratings anymore -- the companies have figured out how to game the system. Horrible! A mistake we wish we never made.

The pizza was good, but my lasagna was bland. With a restaurant with Italian in the name, I expected it to be well seasoned. Instead, it appeared like it was frozen lasagna pieces, covered with sauce and cheese, and ran through the oven. I'll try their food again, I just hope the pasta will be fresh, add more sauce so it's not dry and has flavor...

I've ordered from them before, been happy with the pasta entrees but this order was disappointing. The spinach and feta triangles were burnt. I called the restaurant, instead of apologizing I get an explanation about the process, the oven, how the triangles need to bake from inside. Requested sausage, one piece was added to the meat sauce. The manager John did secure a refund from the delivery app for the triangles. I will probably order from them again but stick to the pasta.

We came to town today and went directly to the zoo. We spent the day there and by the time we got to our BnB rental we were starving. We ordered from this restaurant through GrubHub and the food arrived very quickly and the delivery driver was very courteous. The food was delicious. I had spaghetti with meat sauce and my wife and our daughter had cheese pizza. Everything was delicious and I highly recommend this restaurant.

The food was underwhelming, to say the least. I really was not impressed, but it also was not horrible. The place was also pretty dirty and hot, with flies that would not leave us alone as we ate inside. The staff was nice, but I do not think I would eat here again.

IKU doesn't really serve your typical DC jumbo slice - these are big, but not of the gargantuan proportions you get at a place like Duccini's. What is does serve is good late night pizza, 6 nights a week (they close earlier on Sundays), as well as having a full menu of Italian food during regular business and dinner hours. The staff is friendly, the service is quick, and it's not too expensive.

Italian Kitchen saved us! My team and I were hosting a conference in DC and didn't account for lunch for staff on the first day. Tony and his team had a full catering spread for lunch and fit in my team of 20 during peak lunch hours. They delivered everything we needed and the pizza was delicious!! THANK YOU TONY AND TEAM!

This place was so good. We got take out and brought back to our Airbnb. The calzones are huge and delicious, especially the spicy meatball. Kids got their own small pizzas and they were great. Excellent dough and lots of toppings. The people working were so nice. Great place for take out or delivery. They have a few tables if you want to eat there.

At least if you're in person and the meatballs are dry and so over-spiced you wonder if the meat is rotten and they want to hide the smell, you can send them back. But I got delivery. With delivery everything is in writing so they can't get it wrong. Yet they did that too. I didn't eat it so I wasted $30. You shouldn't make the same mistake.

Traveling from out of town and ordered with Uber eats. Pasta was hot and absolutely delicious! The mozzarella sticks were nothing to be desired. But overall really good coming from a midwestern traveler!

I believe sanitary practices go hand and hand with good service. In this place I watched one of the employees handle money with their bare hands and then turned around went in the kitchen and pulled a slice of pizza out and gave it to a waiting customer with those same bare hands. That's just nasty and it passes bacteria.

after a long day of traveling I knew only two things about dinner: 1. I wanted good chicken fettuccine alfredo and 2. I didn’t want to put much effort into searching for it. I really lucked out. Fantastic chicken fettuccine alfredo and equally amazing garlic bread. to top it off, the food is reasonably priced.

Staff was nice but pizza was too salty my tongue went numb. Pretty expensive for very bad quality. I didn't ask for extra salt. The bread, the meat, the onions ... Everything was saltier than the Dead Sea and I tasted the Dead Sea. &pizza next door offers much better quality for even a lower prize.

I ordered a Lasagna tonight and when I tell you the smell of it made me not even want to wait until I got home. The aroma had me opening it as I was walking to catch my train. I took ONE fork full and I was completely utterly in love! I'm coming back tomorrow, I've already made up my mind! ❤❤❤

My favorite pizza on U street. It's great hot warm or cold. 1/4 pie slices of cheese or pepperoni and a drink less than $6 so the other $4 is left for the desserts. Kelly and Israel are fantastic and help make the store fun and keep it running smoothly even when the line is out the door.

The worst late night restaurant I have ever ordered from. After watching 15 people get a slice of pizza after I ordered my food I decided to leave. The wait staff are incredibly rude and inefficient. Buy your food from anywhere else but here. Wish I could give a lower rating

I did not have the same experience as some of the other reviews for this place. We ordered to dine in and they allowed us to sit inside while they prepared a catering order. The pizza and alfredo was amazing, and only a short bus ride away from downtown DC.

The Chicken Panini was good, but atmosphere was decidedly lacking. It's basically a carryout spot. Clean, but bare.

Delicious crust and fresh ingredients. A great alternative to the chain restaurants and the "jumbo slice" places in the neighborhood. Atmosphere is nothing special, but it is just a pizza joint after all.

Best Pizza ever in the DMV. Reasonbale price and you get a hight quality ingredients . You can taste the freshness in all of its ingredients. Definitely, i will go back again every week.

Surprisingly flavorful pizza given it's a local after the club spot. I ordered a 10in pizza in the peak of a long line. About 15 minutes later i was out. Ate the whole thing that night.

Quite possibly the best cannoli I've ever eaten. My wife said the tiramisu was the best she'd ever had. We didn't eat any entrées so I can't speak to that.

I love this place. Since I started visiting this restaurant two years ago, I've consistently been given nice prompt service and delicious food.

The lasagna was cheesy, saucy and filling. It was very flavor packed and it filled both my wife and I. The garlic bread was delicious as well.

back in march of 2018 had the most amazing pizza EVERRR!! everyone was so nice i will definitely be coming back whenever i come back to dc!
