Walking our dog one afternoon, my fiancé and I spotted a For Sale sign on a cute little cottage home that we had passed before on many occasions, often remarking how nice it was. We immediately researched who the realtor was to schedule a showing. As it turned out, the Realtor was our next-door neighbor, Joel Aguilar. While that particular house did not end up being a good fit, we kept Joel’s contact information handy for future reference. A few weeks later, our landlord notified us that he was going to possibly sell the house we were renting. We reached back out to Joel and advised that we need to put our search into high gear. Joel immediately jumped on this and setup a custom MLS search for us. This search helped us narrow our focus. After looking at a few different houses in different areas, we were able to define our “must-haves” vs. our “nice-to-haves”. Late on Wednesday night, a nice condo went up for sale on Zillow. We reached out to Joel and he was able to schedule a showing for the next afternoon. We went up and saw it – loved the property and the area – and, with Joel’s help, submitted an offer that evening. Joel was able help us navigate this crazy market and help us formulate a strategy for the bidding process. His advice was sound and the seller accepted our offer a couple days later. Joel continued to guide us through the process all the way up (and through) the closing process. As first-time homebuyers, we had a lot to learn. Joel patiently answered any (and all) of the questions we had about the homebuying process. His communication style (quick, responsive, informative, and proactive) was perfect for motivated buyers like us. We are very thankful we had Joel in our corner.
