I ordered a meal via Uber eats. I received the message saying my meal was being prepared and approximate time i can expect delivery. I then received the message saying who my delivery person and he had left the restaurant was and was en route to me. I then messaged the delivery person and said, "Please message me when u get to my gate as i live in a cottage at the back of the property." I later got a call saying the delivery person is trying to get hold of me ,i immediately go outside to the gate. Other members of family living on the property are outside the yard , i ask them did you see anyone on a delivery bike trying to deliver a meal they say no one has arrived i received a message stating that my meal was delivered. I tried to phone the number that called me saying my delivery person is trying to connect with me, and it's an automated voice, so no joy. I then go to the restaurant and speak to the manager and explain all this to him again, the manager politely asked me if I tried to call Mr delivery and explain my situation which I answered yes but its a automated voice so I did not get help. The manager then asked for my order number, which I got off the app and prepared the same meal for me. My point is that the store manager was very obliging and helpful and ensured service satisfaction and said that they would deal with the deceitful delivery person. I have since deleted the Uber eats app off my phone and will infuture should I feel like a meal from the restaurant will rather go into the restaurant and order that deal than having to deal with a deceitful delivery person. I have not heard back regarding the outcome of the delivery person. However, I do hope he was dismissed on the spot for being deceitful. This delivery person took the joy out of ordering online and put me thru the task of going into the restaurant, which I never wanted to do in the first place due to time constraints. This person casts a dark shadow on other honest working people trying to make a living the honest way.

This is a warning for customers to this outlet. KFC Sophiatown is hot spot for organized phone theft. Your phones and valuables can be stolen while you are dining at KFC Sophiatown. It is the perfect spot for phone criminals who steal/snatch phones. Criminals go to KFC Sophiatown and pretend to be customers by sitting hours while waiting for victims they can snatch phones from inside this store. It also seems like the KFC staff at Sophiatown are in on the theft, because they turn a blind eye to suspicious characters loitering inside their restaurant for hours without buying anything AND they are also reluctant to talk to or help victims even after they witness the robbery. When my family and I had a phone snatched from us, we had to ask the staff at KFC Sophiatown for CCTV footage and they chose not to help and said they don't have any footage even though the criminal went to use the toilet and there are several cameras indoors. The only help we received was from other KFC customers. The manager did not even bother coming to see or help us. This makes me think that this happens regularly and that they are in on this crime and in support of the crime ring. In addition, after reporting to the police, I went with the investigating officer to the store. Now they claim to have the footage BUT it is too dark and they can't see anything! And they failed and did not submit the footage. For your safety, avoid KFC Sophiatown at all cost. In fact, everything from waiting time, professionalism, customer service, and personal safety is a very big problem here.

I visit this kfc out of convenience for numerous years .. The service is pathetic..staff are unfriendly...most of the rime my order is incorrect. When I call to complain..its a simple sorry!!! No improvements.. Iv attempted calling numerous times over the last few days to no avail. I received an incomplete order!!. WHY should customers have to endure incompetent service when we are paying for your service and still inconvenienced to go back at our cost Pathetic @#####

KFC just doesnt taste like Kentucky Fried Chicken anymore. The recipe seems to have changed so much that there's nothing left of the original taste. Very disappointing. Even though we went via the drive-thru, the food wasn't ready, we had to switch our car engine off and wait. The chicken was oily and tasteless. I feel sad that a product I knew and loved as a child and teenager and adult has been changed so much that it's now unrecognizable.

Terrible service, told the eft at the drive through doesn't work but my order can be placed and asked to pay inside the store. Went into the store only to wait a good 10min (with one teller working), beside having mentioned to the manager as I walked in that I'm from the drive through. Ended up leaving without the meal as the teller seemed out of sorts in helping the one person at the till. I find most KFC's such a drag though and everytime I go to one I leave disappointed.

Very poor service! Unfriendly cashier having to take orders and payments. This makes drive through queue long and time consuming. After 15 minutes in the queue (sweltering heat) I order ice cream, only to be told with a blank stare, that there is no ice cream. Why not put up a sign at drive through entrance that regretfully, ice cream is out of stock. It would save time and frustration! I won't be back to this KFC!!!

Poor customer service for the 2nd time. They certainly not going to see me again. A male staff member at this KFC helped me. I specifically requested for all 7 boxes to have chilli salt. Only to find 2 salts was added. He just turned he back and said as he walks away everything is there. Poor customer service It becomes a tendency not to receive something that supposed to be added to the order at this specific KFC. Their chicken was little under done.

I remember I was at the shop when the team scoop the award performance of knit, best employees and their services. They deserved it, this is the best place to have your lunch and meal for the day. They treat customers with respect and in a friendly manner as if they get trained every second. I always refer my friends and most students to have their best meal or lunch at this KFC when at Sophia town.

Placed my order online. Got to the till , show my order no. the staff was clueless. I waited almost 20 minutes for my food. Also one orders online and only need to go to collection. The collection side couldn't help. So what's the use of buying online with this store. Phone the store to ask for the manager to find out what's happening in the store. The phone just rang. Waste of time.

There was a big black dustbin in front of the drive thru entrance. Customers turned around and left. The store inside was very busy but not one customer at the drive thru. Why the bin? Not the first time either. Saw it before. Do your business a favour and find out why. Otherwise your store is clean and bright. Staff friendly but a little slow with the orders. Chicken is good too.

Tiny (an employee at kfc Sophiatown) was very welcoming from the moment my partner and I walked in, even brought our order to our table even though that’s technically not her job. We realised there were 8 wings instead of 10 so she organised an entirely new and fresh order and brought it to our table. We really need more people like her at our fast food outlets. Highly recommend.

Very helpful as they have been assisting us with large orders for our training groups (up to 30 x Streetwise 2s and a few wraps). The Manager even threw in 2 Oreo Krushers for my assistant and I as we have been coming to them every week for the last 2 months. Didn't expect it and had no idea he was going to do that. KFC is the place to be. I love their new burger (dunked burger) I honestly feel like the rest of the menu can be abolished and just that one item can be sold because that's the only thing I'm looking to buy at the moment. The staff are nonchalant, the service is leaves a lot to be desired for and Dare you say no to their request for R2 for their KFC Add Hope initiative, prepare to be in store for an extra serving attitude and ugly stares. I'd rather go to the Garden City KFC, yes it's further away, but at least you get serves with a smile.

Went to KFC Sophiatown this morning was there @7 and they weren't open yet although they suppose to open @6am, then when we could finally order food the food was terrible, chips tasted like it was from yesterday and the chicken was so dry. I would not recommend this KFC if you can avoid it. The service is slow and the space as a whole did not seem very clean. If you can rather GPS to another one nearby or closer to the City, do so. This one is placed in a bad shopping centre and isn't the best.
