Kent Street is an enchanted portal to an elvin realm and potentially Hulk Hogan’s official or unofficial underwater lair/hideout. All lamps therein-within have been intricately constructed by highly trained cereal box characters imported from America’s golden era of brunch. I’m pretty sure you can get an exquisite coffee prepared by the staff who are genetic perefection, handcrafted by David Lynch himself and possibly with the assistance of that “poems for beers” guy. Funky little establishment designed for hipsters. Able to sit out the front and have a beer directly on the footpath. Able to have our dogs at our seat when outside at the front seats. Vrry dark inside. Dedigned to be a small social venue. Visited at non popular time which allowed us to get those outside seats. Good place to sit chat and watch the world pass by.

Super friendly staff and a good selection of tap beers. Music selection is eclectic, but always good and at a reasonable volume so you can still have a conversation or tune it out if you like. Don't worry too much about the few folk who will ask you for change or a ciggie, they are all equally friendly and harmless. Help them out if you can, but if not they will just raid your ashtray and leave you alone.

Very cool bar in the heart of Fitzroy, good selection of beers. The staff are lovely and not pretentious and cold as I have seen in other bars in the area. There is a nice and relaxed atmosphere, LGBTQ friendly, I know that they do some trivia nights, if I remember well on Tuesday. Highly recommended. Cherry in top: it's open every day of the year, Christmas included

Best dive bar in Melbourne. Punk and alternative music playing into the wee hours and it's a real community of people. The venue espouses inclusiveness and the staff are great at protecting their patrons from negative situations. You can feel free to be who you are at Kent St and you'll definitely make friends with someone out of the blue, if you stay long enough!!

Wanted to give a shout-out to the awesome staff here. I received some uninvited and unwanted physical attention from another customer while I was having a drink at the bar and the staff had my back 100%. ❤ Otherwise, a very welcoming environment (I was visiting from interstate), excellent taste in music and a great free comedy night on Mondays. Will be back!

Such a unique and cool bar. It looked a little rough when we went in, but the staff were really friendly and it has a cool vibe. Downstairs the music was great, but it was busy, so we went upstairs where the music was completely different and they also had board games to play by candlelight. Definitely worth a visit.

Attended Kent St bar on Easter Monday. The place was super fun, had some great 2000s Rnb music and the bar tenders were so sweet and lovely. A Smith Street mainstay for as long as I can remember and has some of the most caring staff I have seen in a bar(and I've been to a lot of bars). Smith Street attracts a wide range of people and I have never seen anyone from any walk of life treated with anything but the utmost respect and kindness at Kent St.

Went to drinks with a girlfriend there last night. They've got an amazing service where you if you're experiencing harassment or a terrible Tinder date you can ask the bar staff to intervene. Imagine if every bar was amazing and as safe for women as Kent St!!! Dog friendly space too

What a fun eclectic place. I got their No Jerks draught from tap. $10. Funny idea with the free sticker per customer. I will slap it on my laptop probably. Ok maybe not due to the language. :) Accepts cash. Outside and indoor seating. Outside didn't have heaters though.

Coolest vibes and the staff here are soooo freakin’ friendly. The outdoor seating is so good for people watching tooo. Pro tip: get 2 espresso martinis (they are so delicious here) in one glass. Life changing - thank me later.

The best cool and hyp bar in Melbourne. Looks like some squatt bars on some European cities 25 years ago, with more sense of business. And not to forget to mention : the best playlist

Kent Street is a great little bar. Full of personality and the staff are usually fairly friendly. It is a great place to go and have a beer before a night out.
