Lengthy review alert, so the short version is look nowhere else for a reasonable, quick, efficient and excellent workmanship auto repair shop. More details if you'd like to read is as follows....First and foremost they were absolutely stellar with their communication from making the appointment to the time my daughter picked her car up. I did my reconnaissance on this shop about a month prior to needing them because my daughter just moved to Lincoln Park and she needed a local shop to rely on. It just happens that they are only a half a mile from where she lives and they had 5 star reviews. They deserve every star. My daughter's car started making a serious clanging noise and they were able to get her in the very next morning. She was afraid her car wouldn't make it because the noise became so severe. She barely made it to the parking lot and when the mechanic went to pull the car in, the transfer case exploded and left shrapnel in the parking lot! Talk about lucky. Anyways, this is quite a major repair that they turned around in 1 Day!!! Can't thank these guys enough. Trustworthy. This review is from a veteran of over 35 years in the car business and repair facility. UPDATE: 03/02/22 My daughter's car had to go back in for some more work unrelated to the previous repairs they performed......I tell you what, the more we use this place, the more I knew we picked the right place. Always reasonable, never upsell and get's the work done when they say it will be done. There was an honest snafu on the last bill and they cheerfully refunded the overcharge immediately. It doesn't get any better. Thanks again Lincoln Park for being there in our time of need.

This auto mechanic shop is truly a rare find. Our car has been having a multitude of issues for sometime now and nothing has really ever been properly fixed, that is until we came here. Lincoln Park Auto Repair is an honest and professional business. They accurately diagnose the issue, they are upfront about costs and timing, and at the end of it all, they truly just care about customer satisfaction, i.e. fixing the problem right. My car would not start today and the day was completely saved by Lincoln Park Auto Repair. My husband was walking to meet me where the car wouldn’t start and stopped in to see if they could help us. Within 10 minutes, someone came to jump our car and tell us what was going on. We drove right to the shop and was able to get our battery checked and replaced. At a reasonable price! Both men working were extremely kind and explained everything that was going on. They were very responsive and helpful! We thought this would take the whole day to figure out, when everything was complete within 40 minutes. They were extremely efficient and knowledgeable! I live nearby and my car wouldn't star. AAA came out and couldn't get it to start. I had seen their sign go up on Saturday and figured it was close and I would give them a try - I called to say my car would be towed there. They asked if I was close and I said I was. Instead of having my car towed there, they offered to come over. After about 10 min, they got it started. When I asked how much I owed, they said "don't worry about it. We're neighbors. We need to look out for each other." I didn't know businesses like this still existed! As a woman who admittedly doesn't know much about cars, this went a long way to earning my trust (and my future business!)

I am so very grateful for the service the guys from that place provided me with! I had a problem with my tire and after being turned off from so many places refusing even to look at the tire, stating that they are very busy and don’t have the time, I ended up at that shop. The manager met me and told me that they usually don’t fix tires, but if it’s something basic they could do it. Turned up it was a nail and they fixed it for 10 min. They refused to take money for that. I couldn’t believe it. It’s hard to believe such people still exist these days. I highly recommend the place and I would definitely be their customer in the future!

Very professional and extremely honest owner and mechanics. They are new to the area and I've used them twice. The first occasion the owner advised me that the repair would probably cost more than my car was worth because it would require a new or rebuilt transmission. The second time, on a different car, they were able to diagnose and fix an oil leak on my car very quickly. When the bill came due, I had to ask the owner if he was sure because the cost was much lower than I had expected. The shop itself was extremely well kept and clean. I would use them again in a heartbeat.

I have an Audi Q5 that needed an oil change and tire rotation and an overall inspection. I live close to this shop and they had great reviews so I thought I would give it a try. They were so nice. You don't expect that from this type of place. They said they would do an inspection and let me know what work was needed. I expected a long expensive list. Instead they called and said everything was great and they just did the oil and tire rotation. The price was very reasonable. They were so honest. I will definitely use them again.

I have been here twice and each time the manager was kind, professional, and efficient. The first time, my tired had a leak and it turned out to be a nail. He patched my tire free of cost. The second time, I came in for steering fluid as my power steering has a leak, and I explained that I do not plan to fix the leak, as I am planning to sell my car soon. He did not push me to fix it and even showed me how I could fill it myself in the future. Highly recommend this shop for amazing customer service!

Brought my car in for the Check Engine light. After they ran the diagnostics, he brought me back & showed me a small, worn hose. They had it in stock & put on it free of charge. They were so polite & no pressure to repair anything else. I was so impressed that I asked them to look over my 2008 208k mileage car to help it get through one more Chicago winter. Im so grateful to have found a new mechanic that I can trust. Bring your car here! You won’t regret it.

We had used another repair service for 25 years in Lakeview that closed when the owner passed. We were lucky to find Lincoln Park Auto Repair. We are very satisfied with service and price. Perhaps more importantly is how they treated me with a 20 year old Camry. With lots of luxury cars in the shop, they could focus on larger repair costs. But they patiently found the right parts to fix an old car at a good price. We will be back for future work.

I don’t often leave reviews, but John and his team at Lincoln Park Auto are the most honest, trustworthy, and fairly priced mechanics I have ever worked with. Beyond being fairly priced John takes the time to educate his customers on the specifics of what is going wrong, provides a range of potential solutions at different price points, and helps you weigh the pros and cons of each scenario. I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

No complaints. I had a hard time finding a reliable mechanic in Chicago, and was very impressed with LPARS. I had a complicated issue that multiple other mechanics couldn't figure out, and they were able to do the repairs without overcharging me. Very friendly and prompt service, plus they're easy to reach over the phone. Will continue to take my car here for as long as I'm in Chicago.

This place is great! They go through the extra steps of telling you what issues you are having, why it’s happening and showing you what parts need to get replaced (pictures of broken, damaged, etc. parts). Everyone is super kind, the prices are very fair and you can really see that everyone here cares about doing their job to the best of their ability. I highly recommend this place!

I like this place. They work quickly and they explain everything. Their prices are ok for the city. They charge quite a bit for service but it's really high quality service. They're an honest company owned by a guy who works there sometimes. He gave me a free oil change when I asked as well. Only downside is this place is kinda small and right below the trains so it's always loud.

Truly incredible service and everyone that works there was so kind and communicative. I went in because I had an issue with my engine stalling and my car running louder than usual but there was no check engine light on. They were still able to locate the issue and repair it within a few hours. The repairs were also very affordable. I would 100% recommend them!

Called at 11am, dropped my car at 1:45, picked it up fixed at 4:30pm same day! The gentlemen who work here were very nice and took great care of my vehicle (2013 Range Rover Evoque). Were very honest and communicative about what was wrong/what they did to fix it. I will definitely be returning for service in the future!

Great place and people to work with. They care about their work, quite reasonable fees, and also pointed out shotty work done at the VW dealership. They advocated on my behalf to have the dealership correct their work because of the hack job they performed. Saved me $ and most importantly, I trust the folks there.
