Let me begin by saying that this review in no way reflects on the driver and the load/unload crew. These guys did an amazing job overall, and were there no other hiccups with this company, I'd gladly have given a 5* review. That being said, I am leaving a 1* review based entirely upon our dealings with management in resolving an issue with being charged more than the actual weight. In dealings with the estimator, we were informed that we are charged for actual weight moved. In reality, there are 'break points' for weight where they will charge for more weight than actually moved as this is supposedly less expensive than charging for the actual weight. At NO point were we informed of this policy until after we had been charged for the move. Had I not been looking over the final invoice, we would have not noticed at all. The estimator estimated us at 13,000lbs of weight. Our actual weight was 10,700lbs. We were charged for 12,000lbs. An estimator from another company had estimated us at 10,500lbs, so obviously there was an issue here as this is a pretty serious difference. So, if you do choose to use Mackie Movers, please go into it knowing what you're dealing with, and be sure to ask for several quotes based upon different weights. At least you'll be prepared for the final bill. And let me finish off again by saying how incredible the driver and load/unload crew were. Without the above issues, this would have been a significantly different review.

I was blown away by this company.. Moved from Edmonton to Vancouver in 2014. From the get-go, their staff was so helpful and friendly. Barry even insisted on an in-person visual survey of my items before providing me with a quote. After getting a competitive quote for my move I decided to go with QHP. Their employees were friendly, funny, and incredibly efficient. Keep in mind, the move was from Edmonton to Vancouver (a 12 hour drive) so My girlfriend and I drove down the day before, stayed in a hotel and arrived at our apartment at 8am the next morning. Much to our surprise QHP was already there when we showed up and had half of the truck unloaded! The unloading was complete before noon. As if we weren't pleased enough with them being helpful and ahead of schedule, our final cost ended up being LOWER than what they had quoted us. (Not to say that will happen in every case, but we lucked out) I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for a short or long-distance move. Their efficiency mixed with their exceptional customer service make them a logical first choice.

I would recommend you to anyone planning a move. From the very first step (no obligation visual estimate) to the delivery I was very pleased. I was so impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. No matter how busy they were they took time to help me in all my enquiries and when I needed supplies. The 'loading' crew were ever so pleasant too. I felt very comfortable with the care they took to protect my "stuff". The delivery crew were as pleasant as the others. I had to give 5 stars because I had NO complaints. They were all very experienced and efficient. Thanks Ian- your estimate was spot on. I had a great time working with Rob King and Mackie Moving. We moved our household from Edmonton to Ottawa with no problems, no issues. Rob was on top of everything and helped to coordinate everything! Great company and probably our best move across Canada, out of the five times we've moved around the country! The QHP team has moved my family twice in the last two years and both experiences were excellent. Having the QHP team pack and unpack takes a lot of the stress out of the move. The service is friendly and they take the time to make sure older items are properly taken care of and undamaged. I would definitely use QHP again for any move in the future.

Two young men arrived right on time in early morning with a delivery in minus 30 weather and bad road conditions. They were super friendly and I was very impressed with their efficiency despite the weather conditions. This company has delivered to us previously and the service from both the office reception and the delivery staff has been excellent.

We would recomend this Company Mackie - QHP totally. The team that came in did the job with a smile and whole heartedly. We had faced some challenges the day before the move and were not quite ready on the day of the move. All the same the Company understood the problem, helped us out and move was completed to meet our deadlines. A BIG THANK YOU.

You'll want to think twice about doing business with the Edmonton location of this company. Once they're paid, they don't even know you exist. We never received weigh scale tickets, never received compensation for damaged goods; we were charged thousands more than the original estimate, and received no replies to our efforts to contact them.

I would highly recommend Mackie–QHP for moving! I had two moves (one to my new home, the other to storage) and both went flawlessly. The movers were friendly, helpful, careful, polite and fast. I used this company 15 years ago (when it was just QHP) and remembered how impressed I was. They didn't let me down this time either :).
