Its a small park for the little ones, with only 4 swings (2 for the babies and 2 for the big kids). The playground consists of 1 baby slide and 1 big kid round slide, a small rocky bridge, and some monkey bars. The slides aren't covered so much by the trees so they can get really hot at times. The trail, on the other hand is fantastic. It goes all the way around the park and has a few hills which are great when you're running. The bayou is right next to the trail and it gives you a great sense of peace when you got your music going on. The playground I give a 3 out of 5 because its basic and small but the trail is 5 out of 5. Totally recommended for running and exercise and a great place to clear your head.
This park ....its so beautiful I love to walk here if you have a dog they have a water fountain for ur dog ..if you like t ride your bike ...its a great place to ride your bike it has ups and downs to get a good workout. Also it has a area where you can fix ur bike if it breaks and put air in ur tire ...omg al parks should be like this....also they have guys selling fruit and ice cream ...this is the spot to take ur family but be respectful of ppl exercising and dont let ur kids get in the way I saw that alot today nd really hated that it's a big park there is plenty of room for ur kid to play there is only a sidewalk where the ppl can run ...be respectful!!
Good overall park. Frisbee golf, baseball, soccer, pool, concrete and dirt paths, events, and nice new bridge to connect across both sides of the bayou. The main path is small though and the place easily gets overcrowded. You constantly have to run off the path as there are an incredible amount of people there that don't seem to care about others and take up the whole small walking areas whether alone or in groups (I even seen 5 people all walk side by side extending off the trail...might Red Rover them next time). I have gone over 30 times and it never fails to see so many inconsiderate people here specifically.
Mason Park is one of the Best Parks in Houston. I have been coming for years. It has nice Trails for running, walking, or cycling. They go up and down which offers a much better workout than just flat. The park is always Pretty and kept up, its never ugly with overgrown weeds and trash. There is a soccer field and a baseball field and across the bayou is a soccer field and football field. Across the street is another baseball field. They got you covered. In the back is a outside workout station and there are tables and barbecue pits everywhere. Last but not least there is a Pool.
My girls and I always enjoy walking at this park. Main trail to walk is 1.2 miles, if you go over the bridge down to the lake it adds to 1.9 miles. This park is usually well maintained. There is a playground and a baseball field. There is no dog park but you're able to take your dog for a walk. Do pick up after your dog! People usually fish, but I'm not sure if you need a permit. The YMCA section looks like is going to open soon. There is a nice pool. Please keep the park clean since it's right in the middle of the neighborhood/ homes.
Well you can always take a long walk first of all it's got a couple of soccer fields in there you can walk through the trees heels or stay on the asphalt got tennis courts across the street across the by you you got two more soccer fields you got swings for children you got a swimming pool there as well great one I may say doesn't have diving boards but it's still big pool very nice friendly people very clean plenty of parking and most of all Texas hospitality welcome to the South East Houston y'all come on by now
Amazing! This is a hidden gem in the SE of town. This park is vibrant and always buzzing with activities from kids playing soccer, to people of all ages enjoying the walking trails to couples throwing frisbees, to guys enjoying a scenic walk with their pets. The park is very well kept, the grounds are neat and the neighborhood seemed very safe. I would recommend this park to everyone I know! Truly you have to see it to appreciate. Bring the whole family or just your pet , either way you will have a blast!
The park is beautifully maintained. You have 3 small trails to choose from with the biggest being a good mile to mile and a half. It has tables and great shaded areas for picnics and great scenery for pictures. Its great for the little ones and a great way to enjoy nature with a baby on a stroller or carry-on. If you play sports, there is a soccer, baseball, basketball court (indoors) and I think a tennis court, but I am not sure since it was recently renovated. Great park to spend time outdoors
Loved it wish there was nice effecent restrooms and not porta potties that don't have toilet paper. Because after my run it gets my bowl movements going and no near store but bushes and don't want poison ivy. But love the view and it's a great park to relax and take your mind off things or read a book #mentalawareness . I would hope for future markers knowing how far your ran and or trail updates of where you are and or going like other trail options or trails and or streets.
The trails and bridge are amazing. this is a great location for family outing. We spend a lot of time just hanging out on the bridge because the breeze there was amazing. we attended this particular park for bayou Greenway day which was a celebration of all the green space that they have newly renovated in the area. It truly is beautiful and it was a great way to celebrate the work that has gone into beautifying the bayous!
Such a nice way to escape city life! It’s so clean and beautiful, I brought my Hamic and swung for about an hour before picking my son up from school and I felt so relaxed and so at ease. I saw that there is a pool and there is also an office for the YMCA but I did not check that out. I don’t know how big this park is but I feel like it’s much bigger than a lot of the parks in this area. Will be returning soon
I've been going to this park for over 30 years and it's great as you have everything needed for a fine time.....jogging trail, basketball court, tennis court, soccer fields, baseball fields, frisbee golf, swimming pool and much more. If you are into physical activity or if you just want to grill out and hang out with the family while the kids play on the playground equipment then this is a must.
My dad and I started coming here to walk after a dead body was found at our other walking spot (the bayou by the Houston Botanic Garden). This place is so much nicer. Trails are well maintained and there's lots of little wildlife. There are tons of jumping fish, and you can watch the pelicans come dunking down to grab them. Lots of chubby squirrels. Most importantly, no dead bodies. A++
Cute kinda crowded after sun goes down. But nice sun set from the bridge. This park is great for walking and runs but if you want to let you kids run or sit in the grass on a blanket and have a moment with someone forget it. Dog walkers let their dogs use the park as personal toilets and don't Clean up after up. Thanks for ruining the park guys. Fine job.
I love the vibe at this park, great sights and you can tell that the city is really trying to add upgrades to the park. I just really wish that they would open up the swimming pool to the community. City Bikes are available here and Bike tool stands are also here for the community to use. You can get some good running here with new freshly paved trails.
Nice family-friendly park that is undergoing major construction for improvement. They are building a huge walking/biking bridge over the bayou that will be wonderful once completed. I will most likely return when it's completed to enjoy some exercise there although it's quite a distance from where I live, but I visit a friend who lives in the area.
Very clean park. Very beautiful. The bridge was a great addition to the park and the jog is one of my favorites in the city. Connects to a bike route that leads to downtown which is a fun experience. Development is also very exciting. I'm expecting great things in the near future. Pool isn't my favorite due to crowding, but it is a decent size!
Great big park for lots of activities. They have playground for the kids and workout benches for the athletic. Its a huge park one side has a baseball field and the other a soccer field. Both usually vacant so you can play also great long running track around the whole park to run or just to ride your bike. Also great for taking dogs on walks.
My Favorite Dog Park! Been Outta Town for about 6-7mos..And My Girl ABSOLUTELY HATED the Fact She COULDN'T RUN AND GET LOOSE LIKE SHE WANTED! SOON as I GOT HOME...HAD TO COME BACK AND ARE IF SHE REMEMBERS HER OLD LLAY GROUND...and GUY'S Ya Shoulda SEEN HER...Lmaoooo Lmaoooo LOVED IT!♥️♂️ …
My daughter and I did a little walking there today. We walked close to the side with water. There were pelicans sitting on the power lines, a turtle basking in the water and some squirrels chasing each other. We even walked on the bridge. Now there is an area for the kids to swing/slide, baseball area, a gazebo and a lot of walking space.
Mason Park was incredibly different than when I last went there ..played Pony League there..the lightning was bad etc.,,they have really renovated that park. ,the jogging trail is great and beautiful,,the park is well maintained, by 7yr..grandson and I really enjoyed it...the snow cone man was good conversation hey wonderful day there..
My wife and I come here to Run bike and longboard riding. Good place, has water fountains (although 1 is out) kids playground, and public pool (not open during the pandemic) the bridge across the bayou is only like 2 years old. It's nice. Although running is better on fine garvel vs concrete, this place is still no1 in this area
Kind of good and kind of not so good. The community it is in is kind of run down. The park is split into 3 different areas, so it is kind of confusing exactly where you are going if getting together with loved ones. Lots of the ball field lights are not working, which makes playing BB at night kind of difficult.
Pretty place to train, exercise, run, and hang out with family, has a beautiful view of the Brays Bayou in a segment, with different courses and fields and grills, also a pool and a indoor course, is the perfect place for all type of people, those who wants to get active and those who wants to sit and relax
Loved the park. It's small enough to do laps around without dying, but big enough to have different activities in different parts of the park. Mostly sports games like soccer and stuff, not like discovery green activities. But it works for me. Also, the bridge really has made a nice addition to the park.
This place has it all ...soccor field..baseball field...walking/jogging track...swimming pool....indoor basketball and gym....its a great place to walk with your babe or take the families....i grew up in that neighborhood so I was always there....and now it's got a new bridge over the bayou at mid park
There is beautiful paved walking trail . On boths sides of the bridge . Such a huge beautiful bridge that overlooks a beautiful waterway . Definitely a place for a walk with your doggies or kids . I definitely recommend this quiet beautiful place. You can rent a bike too . I was parked by the pool .
Is an awesome park I move to magnolia a year ago so I make this park my park my other park where I use to go is to far . This park just need more workout equipment. And it can be the perfect park I did plant a coconut tree there and is growing beautifully hope the cold don’t kill it. Blessings
A spacious park. Great for events, watching baseball games, walking, biking, jogging. Scenic woodland area and viewing Brays bayou. Great to picnic and has pool. Lots of playground area and I think, tennis courts. Usually well maintained, best in the fall. Great access, lots of parking.
Mason Park recently got some upgrades... New extra large paved trails for runners and bikes... New bridge connects both sides of park, which is divided by bayou... Both sides have trails... One side has playground with baseball and soccer fields... The other has multiple soccer fields
I recently started a routine of morning walks here after not having been in a few years. I was really surprised by all the upgrades and additions. The park is very scenic and I love how it measures your walking distance for various routes. Giving it 5 stars for how beautiful it is!
Beautiful greenspace in the heart of East Houston. The new bridge gives an already great park even more flavor. The trails are well constructed and are easily accessible for walkers, runners, and bikers. On sunny days, this park really shines. Great park for all ages.
Its a nice park I take my kid there a lot but the only thing I always notice is the grass is not cut like it used to be. The grass grows tall and when they do end up cutting the grass they leave the grass there. Other then the lawn care the trails and bridge is nice.
Great park to get your morning walk in. The track is 1 mile long. There is a pool, baseball field, soccer field, as well as a mini dog park. The paletero stops by ever so often to sell refreshments, ice cream, chips and snacks. This is one of my favorite parks.
Braes bayou sweeps through the park, replete with herons, cormorants, and cruising pelicans. Pine forest overgrows the frisbee course, but makes for pleasant micro-hikes. Pines spaced apart in an otherwise open area provide transient shade, and space to play.
Wonderful park. The Memorial Park of the east side. Lots of great paved trails connecting to the Brays Bayou Greenway, beautiful wildflowers in the spring, and Brays Bayou is a lot cleaner than Buffalo Bayou. A little overgrown at times but peaceful.
Very nice park and clean. Its always well kept and it’s a nice place to go for a walk.People usually take their pets and it’s important to keep them leashed. In the afternoons,it’s best to be a little bit careful though because of the amount of people.
Beautiful, porta potty available. No AC restroom. park has a pool, community center, baseball, football, soccer fields and paved walking, running trails. I went on Sunday. A gentleman also sell chips and drinks. It is a strong Hispanic community.
I have lived in The Mason Park area my for most of my life. I remember when the Low Riders used to curse up and down 75th street. This being the reason we have the "No U Turn and No Turn" signs up and down 75th. They would make a loop. Lol
This is a very nice park to walk in during the day light. It's big and the trails were made wider so you can safely get around people when running without getting too close. The playground is nice, but could be nicer. The workout area is
Nice park, has a soccer field, baseball field, nature running trail, park for the kiddos, water scenery, picnic tables and gazebos. Nice place to have a peaceful jog or walk. Come here with my family all the time, always a new adventure.
If only it had a dog park area, and tennis courts. My German shepherd and I loved this place. Never any fear. The best part people were not paranoid with masks. RIP Obie Juan Canoby best dog. Now my husky and I will go in our bike.
It’s a great park right off the trail. The new bridge is nice, but it seems redundant with the new 75th street bridge. In fact, the pedestrian bridge really doesn’t go anywhere or add any utility. Oh well. It looks nice. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
It has a really nice running trail, with monkey bars for pull ups and such, beautiful bridge and scenery from it. Great place for a walk, a run, or as I saw this morning to take your significant other to enjoy the view and talk.
Nice park to go for a jog. Only thing that would make it stand out is if they added more lighting near the Bayou area cause of the trail that goes from the workout section towards the overpass for vehicle. That section is dark.
If your a runner, this is a pretty good spot to go to around 6pm and up when the sun goes down. Several people go here for that reason but if you dony like sort of crowded places dont come here than...it wouldnt be for you.
Great trail for road biking. Headed west along Braes Bayou, there’s construction that diverts you way out of the way for the original path. Headed east on the trail towards Galena Park appears to be without construction.
Just a fantastic trail! Great inclines and declines 100% patched and some natural walking path trails. Very peaceful views near the water
Picnic area
They also have a model concession stand everyday
Fun little place to run, fish, hammock, walk the dog. As far as downtown Houston goes, I didn't feel overly uncomfortable, but I did keep my eyes peeled. I would not go here at night, but that should go without saying.
Been coming here as a you g kid, always have plenty of good times and memories there. The scenery is beautiful with all the trees and the blue bayou running right through it . I caught a fish here l a few days ago!
Well kept park. Nice. Definitely good venue for family events and celebrations or public affairs. Good pick if you need something local and convenient. Not sure of pricing, you'll need some research on that.
I enjoy walking here after work however it does get crowded after 5 p.m.. sometimes there is trash around but usually very clean environment. This is a peaceful park to take your family or walk your dog.
The walking paths are so beautiful to get your mind off of the hustle and Bustle of your day . I really enjoyed exercising there! I can't wait until it's all finished! I totally recommend this location!
Nice place to do jogging and do biking. Some trails available. Nice view next to the bayou. Tables and bbq spots available. No overhead sheltors though. They have a community center next to the park.
We were a group of mommy friends we got together and took our children to play at the park we had a picnic it was nice and tranquil a lot of families there with their kids too had a great time.
The husband and I love walking And riding bikes here. They have the ones you rent for 3 a HR or 30 minutes. Something like that. Its quiet and nice. Bridge with lights is the best pArt for me.
Love this park and they're partnering up with the YMCA. It's a great place to walk, run or bike. I've lived in the East End all my life and I'm so glad with the upgrades in the past decade.
After all the repairs done to park good environment to go take a stroll, walk, jog or even ride ur bike love this place recommend every one to visit..Enjoy a good stroll through the evening.
Great beauiful large park. Its a very nice park and direct access to Brays Bayou Greenway trail. The only issue resides by the bridge, youll have teenagers smoking some weed under there.
Beautiful park ,good for walking, running, I saw some families fishing ,kids playing, good for pictures, it was very relaxing walking in that park and the view around the bridge is nice .
Nice park to BBQ. Have a long walk by a peaceful river. Very clean and quiet park to read a book under a tree. Dont forget to cross the Bridge. It was very nice. Dont forget your Dog..
this park is soooo big, you literally have space for anything! people walk, people run, people play soccer. it’s a very long trail to walk and it’s gorgeous. very clean and well kept!
A well maintained and beautiful park on Brays bayou with walking/running trails in the historic East End area. I visit the park. My dog and I taken walks there several times a week.
Great renovations exalt this attractive park that has something to offer everyone. Great pontification with our dazzlingly new bridge! Can't wait to cross to the opposite shore. . .
Don't let the pictures full this a horrible do not maintain park . It like a whole new world but abandoned. no restroom it see a lot potential if it was well kept but no …
Renovations have been made to the park and it's coming along really well. There's a nice view of the bayou from the new bridge where you can see a few of downtown's buildings.
Excellent for morning/evening walks, pet & kid friendly. Tennis courts, baseball, soccer space. Friendly Hispanic neighborhood park! Great renovations done in the last decade!
A nice family park place for everyone. Except…the restrooms are those blue outside stalls are nasty and with these hot weather are extremely hot and uncomfortable to use.
Loved the bridge and walking the kids around the park would recommend they build some sort of play area for toddlers though which is the only reason I didn't give 5 stars
Love the MP Shark family we come here for football practice and always such a blessing to be around people that push my kids to be the best!!! #SharkSeason22 …
Mason Park is growing and developing. My kids and I enjoy taking our dogs for a walk and we also enjoy the bike trails. It’s always very calm and the park it’s clean.
A great park and my dog loves it. I wish there was a dog park. I love spring here to see the wildflowers. I think there needs to be more benches along the paths.
It's a nice park! Good park feel, quiet and tranquil. A new bridge is being built so it will look nice after its done. Lots of different trails you can go on.
Ever since I was a child i enjoyed walking in mason park one of my favorite parks to walk around and not feel in danger always a good vibe …
This is a wonderful place. The beautiful pedestrian bridge allows you to walk over to the retention ponds that are great havens for birds and native plants.
Fun for all the family from basketball to soccer wife open spaces for walking running cycling bring the whole family clean restrooms and plenty bbq grills
Awesome park. Nestled in an older neighbor along braes bayou. Running trails, sportsfields, a cumminity center, and a gazeebo. Great for group activities.
Free aerobic classes Monday - Thursday 8:30am to 9:30. Also a weight room with no charge as well. Make sure you take your TDL or ID to get access to both.
Has been an awesome park since I was a kid, still going from time to time. Has changed quite a bit since, and I'll still be going to visit in the future.
I've been there before. However I was on a recumbent trike and could not go forward from the hike/bike trail, due to all the construction on 75th St.
Take my hounds her at least once a week for a good run. Nice and quiet unless a baseball, or soccer game going on. Kids always have fun when we go.
It was ok, just sat @ a picnic table w/my brother & nephews & enjoyed some shawarmas, it was peaceful & quiet, ofcourse it was 10:00 @ night …
My favorite park in the area. Nice paths, bridge with a view of downtown, large sports areas.
Picnic area
Lots of spots. Great for families
The apartment and staff is great. Calvin Harris is unbelievable at his job and is nothing short of great at making the apartments feel like home.
Will be much better when they get the bike path completed! Not a bad place though, seemed to have plenty of room to park and enjoy the outdoors.
Calvin Harris was awesome! He answered all of my questions thoroughly and he was very patient, as I had a lot of questions about the property
Great park to get your daily exercise, peaceful and great bayou view. Still having construction in the area but not enough to keep you away.
Great place to run and walk. Haven't been here in many years, big change from when I was young in a good way. Nice walking crossover bridge.
Great park to stroll and get your cardio. If your into high impact they have trails for bikes and joggers. Fun for the family and picnics.
Very beautiful park. Nice trail through trees and next to a bayou with soccer teams always putting on a good show one of my favorite parks
This park has been upgraded since I've last come here. It's was so nice to come and see a nice huge bridge along with nice clean trails.
The park is full of life and nature. The pedestrian walk is conveniently paved and the stroll along Bray Bayou is pleasantly enjoyable.
Walking around was very pleasant love how peaceful it is. The only thing this park needs is light I couldn't see that well at 8:30pm.
Really nice park with nice paved trails! Love going there for morning and evening walks and jogs! People on the trail are also nice!
Love the outdoors however they do need to fix alot of the light poles. It's not safe to walk at night time with a dark park.
Nice park lots of nature to enjoy. Females always be with someone specially late evening..i am a local.. i know the history
Is a beautiful park near Houston downtown, pets friendly a lot green areas to play and spend time with family and friends
It's great enjoying small sporting events. However, 1 portable restroom for a packed crowd is by all means UNACCEPTABLE!!
It's ok. Nice new bridge! Folks here aren't as friendly as the other park I normally walk at. Overall it's a nice park.
