Update 2023/06/21 Brought my 2008 Corolla back in for an oil change, muffler repair (it just failed last week) and some strut replacements Maxim had suggested on a previous visit (but indicated were not a rush to repair). I'd asked Maxim to take a look at the muffler first before the struts as I needed to know how close my repair bills were stacking up to the value of the car. As always, Maxim was honest and customer-oriented. Their service tech sent a detailed photo report confirming my muffler (OK the sound coming from my car also confirmed that ;) ), and other minor issues to keep a watch on. They ALSO called me back to advise that while there was some minor oil leakage on the struts, it was within manufacturer specs (wouldn't qualify for the warranty replacement yet) and therefore were OK to keep driving. Based on past experience, I know if I ever have questions on whether a repair is needed, they won't hesitate to respectfully invite me into the garage to see for myself, and/or to pull up documentation to support their explanation. The muffler repair and oil change were done efficiently, at a reasonable price, and with Maxim's always-respectful customer service. I've been going to Maxim for over 10 years now, and they are still the only place I bring my vehicle! If you drive an older car, and want to keep it on the road, Maxim will offer their technical advise in a low pressure, "here's your best option(s), no-mansplaining (!!!) manner. Kudos to their team for ongoing customer service! ---- I tried Maxim Muffler after I couldn't get in for an oil change elsewhere. I haven't gone anywhere else since. I can drop my car off first thing in the morning with a problem, and its nearly always ready by the end of the day. (On rare occasions it isn't, it's usually because of a part that's not regularly stocked.) My 2000 Civic is getting up in years, and Maxim has been wonderful in keeping it running for minimum cost. From fixing the breaks, the air-intake, the wiper motor, the hood release, to now the muffler - they've done good! Always willing to explain the problem, and have even offered to look for cheaper parts for noncritical items. I now take my truck to them as well. No difference in service whether they are speaking to me, my husband, or anyone else!

Marco excels at customer service - a true proessional! This was by far the best experience I've ever had with any mechanic in nearly 20 years of owning cars. When I dropped my car off I thought I just needed a serpentine belt replacement. A couple hours later, Marco called me to say that there was a pulley that holds the serpentine belt that would also need to be replaced because it was totally worn out. Marco explained the situation to me in plain English, and confirmed that they would still be able to get the job done before the end of the day. He also had the price quote ready, and obviously it was a bit more than I was initially expecting. "Want me to send you some pictures?" said Marco. Within minutes he had sent me a full diagnostic report complete with photos of my engine and the parts that needed to be replaced. A couple hours later, I received another call saying my car was ready for pick-up. When I arrived at the shop, I had the chance to chat with Marco again. "Want to see the pulley we took off your car?" he said. He led me into the service area and had the part ready and waiting for my inspecting - it was obviously worn out, warped, and severely damaged. Throughout this whole process, Marco's communication was clear and straight-forward. The price Marco quoted me was exactly what I paid, accurate to the penny. The job actually took the mechanic an extra half hour to complete, but Marco was true to his word and only charged me for the price he quoted me.

I have gone to maxim for years, and this is the first time I've reviewed. I think if you get great service you forget that kind words go along way. This is the case in my experience, and every experience I've had with the garage. I recommend them to anyone. Fast, professional, friendly, and they go the extra mile. REALLY. I've gone twice, that's not on the books, for minor things and they didnt charge me!!! This is what community is!! Love them!! You will too! So back again at Maxim!! With my car that has been assaulted by the streets of winnipeg!!! Totally brutal this year!! The boys came thru again! Called and got in the same day, and had my car back the next morning, with major work done. I really value, considering how tight money is thru this time of inflation, how they guide me through what state this car is in. It's ten years old and should be traded in!!! But with the price of cars and the state of availability, it's not option!! Back to Maxim, if you are nervous about finding top mechanics that do the work and are honest and not trying to gouge, these are you guys!!! Can't say it enoough!!! Thanks again! So, I own a ten year old Mazda. Will never never buy one again!!! But if it wasn't for Maxim, this car would be auctioned as not running!!!! Everytime I bring in for service, which has been 3 times already this year, with major intricate problems, they have nailed each time with prompt, professional, and extreme competency. Thank god i go there!!!!!

The folks at Maxim are reliable and honest. Over the past 2 years, Dennis, Nick, and Marco have been consistently awesome with great communication that earned my confidence in working with them. They take time to explain the issues, lay out options (and the expected life-span of anything non-urgent), getting the work done on-time and as budgeted. If things change while the car is in their shop, they call and follow up with an email laying out pricing and photos. I have never felt rushed into a decision with them. They are thorough and make sure work is done right. When I first came to them, I'd had another shop inspect my AC and was told everything was good and it just needed a charge. When it quickly failed again, I switched to Maxim and they tested it with dyes to find the leak - a slower process with return visits, but one that actually solved the issue. Most recently, they had quoted $2100 in work, but once they started, found the cause of the problem was substantially less, saving me $1500. A less honest shop could have charged me that original quoted amount and I would have been none the wiser. These folks take care of their customers. I can't speak highly enough about the work they do, the care they take in doing it right, and their customer service throughout.

Awesome experience. Started with when our muffler came off the mounts and needed to get back on the road. They fixed it right away so we could get going. Very helpful. Made a appointment to replace muffler system as it was worn out. They had to order parts for our system but even that was done in a timely manner. Supplied us with a courtesy car during our appointment, which was great. Love the look, love the work the only downside was the sound. Our car is a 1988 Vette and was hoping for more of a rumble from it. It’s really quiet and doesn’t suit the car. It’s better than the old system but still not 100% happy with it. They said there was resonators and stuff they could’ve take off to make it louder but they figured that would’ve been too loud. Which should have been something that was OUR choice not theirs. They could have called earlier and said it was really quiet. Then I could have went down and made that decision while the car was still there and could have been fixed. Instead they made that decision for us. Now we have to go back. Which is fine, just could have been avoided. Over all experience was positive and would recommend to other people.

Can’t say enough about the great professional and quality service I always get at Maxim. I have been getting my 2002 civic serviced there for a number of years and always felt I was in very good hands. It’s never a great time or experience to have car issues. The folks at Maxim are wonderful at making a bad situation far less painful! They couldn’t have been more helpful and efficient in addressing a recent mechanical failure for me. The problem was diagnosed and repaired incredibly quickly and they were very kind in arranging a courtesy car to assist me while the work was being done . I felt completely comfortable bringing my 2004 Red Pontiac Vibe there for repairs. Over the years as the car was aging and things began to break down, Maxim made sure I was back on the road safe and sound. Honesty and transparency is so important to me and they went above and beyond. I never felt that I was being taken advantage of. Unfortunately, my Vibe got written off and I would have been comfortable buying it back and repairing it, but I was advised against it. Even though the car was taken care of mechanically, the integrity of the body was compromised. They knew how much I loved that car, but it was the advice that I needed to move forward into a new car. My car broke down and last minute had the tow truck drop it off here on recommendation from a mechanic friend. Long story short, the Maxim staff and owner squeezed in a free inspection on a Saturday, then to avoid my vehicle being written-off, they completed custom fabrication work (welding plates, bolts etc), an alignment and exhaust leak all fixed within 1.5 business days, including waiting for an ordered part to arrive all at a VERY reasonable price. (Their quote was spot-on). The best part? They were contacting me twice every day with updates, while being super polite, and professional. The car was fixed stronger than when it was brand new. I couldn’t ask for a better experience!!!

Everything was fantastic from the minute I walked in. I was greeted by Nick, who was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to get my car in immediately and the work was performed by Mike. April 30, 2022 Had another emergency exhaust issue. Showed up unexpectedly and was taken care of almost immediately! I had my alternator replaced extremely last minute. I drove in from ND friday afternoon, my car stopped middle of the road. Almost all shops are closed on weekends and Maxim Muffler took me in and squeezed me in their very busy schedule to get fixed within a day. They literally saved my entire school year I had to drive back Sunday for an exam. The crew had the best service, they were clear and kept me posted. I cannot thank them enough. One of the best shops in Winnipeg; trust worthy and great workmanship. Dennis was able to get me in quickly to inspect my entire car and a brake issue I had. Highly recommend Maxim Muffler & Auto Ltd. They really work hard to look after their customers and stand by their work. Our car needed both boots replaced, and after this was done a noise from the front axle area persisted. The first time we took it back, they couldn't isolate it (it's a hybrid so more complicated to diagnose), but told me it would be under warranty and to bring it back if the sound got worse. Second time, they replaced the entire axle under warranty and gave me a courtesy car for the day. Problem seems to be fixed. Very satisfied. Thank you!

As a solo female cross-country traveler, it was a very scary experience to have my exhaust *vacate* the vehicle as I arrived in Winnipeg. Maxim got me in first thing on a Saturday morning, and had me back on the road in less than 3 hours. They told me about other work that could be done in the future but never forced it on me, and were honest and upfront about the work being done and the pricing. I am so thankful for Maxim solving this very stressful experience and making me feel so well taken care of. I will forever be grateful!

I've had my car repaired at Maxim 3 times and am highly satisfied with the service I have received on each visit. Staff is always friendly and courteous. Staff explains and sends photos of the work that is required. My first visit was to repair a missing stabilizer bar, next was rear brakes and exhaust repair in 2022, and June 21 2022 replaced the serpentine belt. Highly recommended! Marco, Dennis, Kevin, and the entire staff at Maxim have been a pleasure to deal with over the years and they stand by their work. In one instance our Honda Pilot required an engine part that was backordered from the manufacturer, and I was faced with the prospect of not having a vehicle for God knows how long. Instead, one of Maxim's mechanics, Brian, on his own accord dropped by a wrecking yard on his way to work the next morning and dismantled an engine to scavenge the part. How's that for service!

These guys are great. Been going here for 12+ years, mainly for oil changes/checkups on fairly new cars, but I used to bring my old, dying Toyota Echo in to them. They were always straight up and honest, letting me know exactly was was necessary (and what wasn’t) to keep it running. Customer service has always been A+. One time they even came over to my place (I live nearby) to give me a boost at no charge! I was on my way in less than 15 minutes. Best shop I’ve ever dealt with in 25 years across two provinces.

The first time I went here was about three years ago. Was very happy and told others about the great service. I have tried recently, last six months, on two occasions. Terrible front end service. Can't even get out what you want to have done and prices for 'diagnosis' are thrown in my face. I got a quote for exhaust repair for over $1800. Went to rockauto bought all new parts and paid for labour elsewhere for less than $800. Again front end wouldn't listen to what I was requesting for work. Shop around.

I always have a great experience at maxim muffler. All staff are amazing, friendly and helpful. Service has also always been fast. Recently while working, my exhaust system broke and was dragging. I was in the middle of a shift and I went straight to Maxim Muffler where they quickly took my car in even though they were booked up for the day and gave me a Courtesy car so I could get back on the Road to continue working. Within 2 hours they were done and I had my car back. Talk about great service!

My vehicle was rendered undrivable late one Friday night due to having been violently demufflerized by a chunk of ice. The next day the tow truck guy suggested he could drop off my car at Maxim. Not only did Maxim agree to take it on a Saturday but it was totally remuffled less than four hours later in spite of needing some custom work. What?! I'm not used to this level of service in the post Covid era. These guys were even friendly and seemed to be enjoying their work. Highest recommendation.

These guys are top notch. I sat there waiting a little over 1.5 hours for my vehicle to be fixed. In that time I could just see that this is the place to go, based on how they treated other customers that were coming in or customers on the phone, they truly care about there customers. Also how employees interact with management really tells you a lot about a business. They were smiling and having fun. Thanks for the great service Marco and team. From my first interaction with employees at Maxim, I was impressed with the level of professionalism. My Dad's Vehicle exhaust had rusted. I googled for a exhaust repair shop opened on weekends, Maxim Muffler and Auto Ltd. popped up on the list. Contacted them and they were able to schedule me in a few hours. I spoke to Dennis, who was honest and explained to me what was required to be repaired . After a few hours, the vehicle was completed and back on the road, sounding better than ever. Great Service! Quick and Quality repair! Friendly and approachable staff!

This week, Maxim diagnosed an issue with my car which was to be app. $1500-$2400 to repair. I decided to check if it would be covered under my extended warranty, which it was. Despite spending app. 11/2 hours in the original diagnosis, they were so gracious when I took the car to the dealership for the repair, and didn’t even charge me for the diagnosis. This is why they are the only shop to have looked after this and my previous vehicle. Thanks Maxim!!!

The service I experienced was quick, efficient and exceeded my expectations. I got exhaust work done the same day I brought my vehicle in and thought I would have to leave it for the weekend. My knowledge for auto mechanics is slightly above average but I was explained in layman terms what the issues were and how my exhaust issues got repaired. When I had a repair done on my car's coolant hoses, it took the other garage 4 days to return my car. Maxim boys did it in a few hours and I was good to go, I have work at night so I'm delighted it was done in a timely manner with reasonable pricing. I'm a longtime client and I've always been well-treated at Maxim. They're professional, do great work, they're quick, they're very clear ahead of time about each thing they're fixing and how much it costs. If they find other things wrong during the fix, they always call first with pricing to get my go-ahead. They don't hard sell - they let me know if a fix can wait or if it's urgent. I've never felt talked-down to. Excellent company.

I had such an amazing tire alignment done with maxim! They truly went above and beyond wth me as well as other customers in for service when I was checking in my truck it was clear to me that they take pride when dealing with customers and it shows! My tire was leaking air and I needed to go out of town the next day. I went to another place first (where I usually go) and they turned me away quite rudely. I thought I’d take a chance as I also knew they were closing in an hour. They got me in immediately and was able to see that my valve was broken and fixed it for me right away despite being busy with the end of day rush. Thank you so much for your service. This was my first time going to Maxim but they came highly recommended by friends and I was not disappointed. I was able to make an appointment quickly and got the work I needed done quickly. I brought my car into Maxim Muffler and had some issues with the exhaust repair. This company sticks by their work and identified the problem and was able to fix the issue when I brought it in again. This was our first time using Maxim for our exhaust line repairs, belt replacement and other services. They initially gave us a thorough estimate for the work , but once they went in they discovered that by changing a different part they could save us almost 400 dollars. The people here are so friendly! I am someone who unfortunately does not know a lot about car repair, and that is why I really appreciate their honesty when I have them check my car out. This company is absolutely amazing!! Brought our Mustang in with exhaust issues and they made this process absolutely painless. They were honest, straight forward and updated us constantly before proceeding with any repairs. Love the online updates, was able to watch the progression of repairs which is unique! Excellent, friendly service. The service is quick and prices are very competitive. They don't force you into unnecessary repairs and play it straight with how urgent certain repairs are. It's a comfortable place to seek service even if you know nothing about cars. And once when my key battery was dying I went in and they just replaced it for free.

Once again the boys at Maxim quickly and professionally got my car in and out with the required repairs. The car no longer is an icebox and a joy to winter drive again. I was trying to get my muffler and exhaust tip installed. Called 3-4 places couldn’t do it today. I called them at 12, they said if you can get here by 1-130 they’d have it done. Got there by 130 finished the job by 5. Maxim muffler has great professionalism in their work and customer service. Very happy with the work, would recommend to anyone.

Highly recommend. Found a screw in my tire at 1:45, called a few places only to be told due to the long weekend they couldn’t get me in until next week. Called maxim at 2 they got me in right away. Was back home enjoying my long weekend at 3:30 with a plugged, patched, and balanced tire at a very reasonable price. Fantastic service, thanks Maxim

Great customer service and knowledgeable staff. I brought in my car because the muffler had rusted and fallen off. They took a look and gave me an accurate estimate of the cost to replace. A couple of hours later I drove away with a much quieter car! The price was significantly cheaper than from a dealership. Highly recommended!

Can’t say enough good things about Maxim Muffler. Booked an appointment, got in the same week (which was amazing because they are always busy) . Brought my vehicle in for 8:00AM, was ready to go by noon. (Unlike dealerships who have your car all day) These guys do a great job, always happy with their work. Highly recommend‼️‼️

Dennis, Kevin and all the gang are great to deal with and have been able to get me in same day for my truck and my wife’s Jeep. Living out of town, they have made it possible to get home safely. They use Napa parts and the work and parts are warranties for two years. Can’t go wrong with these folks and would come back anytime.

The service here is top notch. I used to go to Mr Lube for oil changes, Fountain Tire for tires and Canadian tire for other repairs. Decided to try these guys and the service and price are top notch. I am recommending Maxim to all my friends and they will be servicing my two vehicles for the foreseeable future. Very impressed!

I’ve been going to Maxim for all my auto repairs, for at least a decade, and especially since the warranty ran out on what was back then, my new vehicle at the time. I’ve taken my elderly mother’s vehicle there, too. That’s a lot of money over the years, and far less than the dealerships and I believe better quality of work.

Amazing job ! My wife’s Ford escape 2012 exhaust broke on Friday night while downtown . Saturday morning 8 am was able to bring down and was finished by 2:00 pm !!! Wasn’t expecting such amazing turnaround time . As well the gentlemen we dealt with on phone and in person were very professional and pleasant! Thank you again

Was staying in the city for 3 weeks, and the alternator decided it was time to die. I was in a bit of a bind and really needed my car. Called up Maxim and they were able to squeeze me in, diagnose it, and fix it for me. Really saved my neck. Very professional, and I would absolutely deal with them again if I needed to.

Best mechanical service I've personally recieved. The diagnostic was super quick (especially for an electrical issue!), the replacement was faster than expected, and everything was done at a reasonable rate. The front desk was super informative and helpful. Overall, never taking my car anywhere else. Highly recommend!

We always get great service, they not only tell us whats going on, but often show us whats happening so we know thats it’s actually a thing and we’re not being upsold. They can shuttle me when i need it or let me hunker down and wait as well. It feels just like the small-town shop we had back in Ontario!

I've now taken my business here twice and both times I came away with nothing but good things to say. All the staff are very nice and take the time to make sure you as the customer are taken care of. The prices are fair and they are upfront about everything they find. I would recommend them to others.

Quick and efficient changeover of Winter tires. A little unclear on what the $5 shop supplies and $3.99 Environmental disposal charge consists of with a tire change. I’m pretty sure the tires came home in the same plastic bags? Maybe you can lighten me in the comments. Thanks

Second time at Maxim's. Great Staff, friendly, knowledgeable and straight forward. Got my vehicle in, diagnosed and repaired...all within 24 hrs. Final bill came in well below the initial quote, which surely says a lot, and the vehicle is in great shape. Highly recommended!

Very impressed with this place. Was able to get a new muffler installed and other exhaust issues repaired in under 2 hours from when I phoned for an appointment to when I picked up the car. On a Saturday yet. Very accommodating and professional. Would deal with them again.

Dennis and Marco are great to deal with and easy to talk to. I am always satisfied with their service and advice, and they never push unnecessary repairs. My wife also finds them respectful, and feels like they take her seriously when she has questions about her vehicle.

VERY HIGHLY COMMENDABLE SERVICE Fast, honest, reasonably priced, They replaced an Exhaust pipe and resonator but told me the muffler was ok. That is honesty to me. If they changed the muffler I wouldn’t have known it was ok.
