Unfortunately, these guys charge a premium but deliver subpar service as I will factually and objectively outline below: 6/30/2023: windshield washer fluid pressure low + xenon lightbulb replacement (driver's side) + secure backing plates on both front wheel rotors to eliminate noise. As of this writing, only the last of these 3 jobs was fully resolved despite having paid $1,130.97 for the entire job. I was told that my washer fluid nozzle was cracked and had to be replaced to resolve, yet after they replaced this, my washer fluid pressure was not restored. On pickup, they suggested I now replace the washer fluid pump. I would chuck this up to an honest misdiagnosis, but then the xenon lightbulb that they installed was a different colour from that on the passenger side - yet another result of poor attention to detail. I complained about the mismatching lightbulb, and would later be asked to return so that they could pursue resolution, but the time wastage here for something that shouldn't have been the case to begin with really irritated me. McDermott could and should have simply matched the spec of the bulb that they replaced. I have now just contracted another mechanic to replace this lightbulb to one that matches and it was as simple as matching the spec stated on the one on the other side. He did however point out that McDermott failed to restore my headlamp cover (Pt.# 158 222-00). I was there while he did the job and saw with my own eyes that this part was indeed missing. Had water gotten into this opening before I found this out, I would've had bigger issues & costs to deal with. Yet another instance of sloppy work and a part of my car that I haven't a clue what they did with. This was what annoyed me enough to leave this updated review. 3/7/2022: Valve cover gasket, spark plugs, engine oil filter housing, oil+filter change. Despite having paid $2,511.40 for this job, I would later pick my car up and have it fail me mid-highway drive back home. Smoke furiously escaped the bonnet and I had to pull off the hwy in a very unsafe manner. McDermott had to send me a tow truck & loaner and while I respect them for this, the sloppy work that led to my engine coolant spilling/leaking all over my engine bay and almost led to a catastrophic event could've been easily avoided with more attentive work. It was quite obvious that something wasn't properly screwed/sealed after this job. 8/18/2021: oil+filter change + brake fluid flush. Upon pick up and whilst driving home, I noticed that my brakes felt way too spongy and were less effective in bringing me to a full halt. I would later have to revisit McDermott so that they could properly resolve this. Again, more time unnecessarily wasted due to sloppy work. 3/29/2021: This was my first visit here and it was primarily due to a whistling/whining noise on cold start. They were pretty certain it was my power steering pump but it wasn't until an unfortunate $3,174.43 later that it was more accurately diagnosed as as simple transmission fluid/pan replacement. Mistakes do happen and I believe in giving people more than one chance, but given this series of events, it would be unwise for me to trust McDermott with any more of my repairs.

In the fall of 2022 , the garage I took my car to ,closed, as a result of relocation. When our tune-up came due , Jan. 2023, I needed to find an alternative. Based on relative proximity, we found McDermott Motors. I cant say enough with respect to the professionalism and transparency we experienced. From Jason and Kalvin , cordially walking us through procedure , booking appointments etc. to General Manager ,John, who during a very hectic, busy session, took the time to explain in detail, the work done , pending issues and costs associated , in other words ,full disclosure. I began taking my Camry to McDermott Motors Tirecraft 3 years ago and am glad I found my mechanics for life! I've been driving over 20 years and this is the best garage I've found. The work is incredibly well done and all safety checks are just as important to them as they are to me. Communication is always clear and effortless, and I can trust that my car is running well and running safely. I don't worry that a tool will be left where it doesn't belong and whether the lugs on my wheels are fully tightened (these are real things that other garages have done in the past, the latter causing the wheel of the car to fall off mid ride). I also really appreciate the full service report after every visit!

Having been frustrated with my experience at certain car dealerships in the city, I found McDermott online and began taking my cars to them a couple years ago. All my experiences with them have been positive, and I would highly recommend to others. The service is fast and easy, and they seem to be straight forward and honest. Their system for reporting back to customers using an online report with pictures and analysis is efficient, helpful and re-assuring. Strong customer service and high quality work goes a long way these days which is why I've been very pleased I found McDermott, and again would recommend to others.

Really great customer service. Originally came to McDermott motors a few years ago because they were able to get hard to find low profile winter tires. They worked hard to source the tires and delivered on my request when other suppliers couldn't. I began using them for service after that and have been very pleased with every visit. You can tell they care. They've always been very honest and are fair with their pricing. Would highly recommend taking your vehicle there for any type of maintenance.

Super friendly staff and great customer service. One of the few mechanics in the city that does not try to up-sell on repairs. I have been going here for many years and I only trust them to do any repairs on my vehicle. I recently had to repair my breaks and I ran into issues with the new piece they installed. However, they ordered a new piece under warranty very quickly and even offered to comp my tow truck expense. Highly recommend.
