I have previously tried the food here, although being a few years ago I found it quite pleasant. As my Indian pallet differs quite a lot when it comes to different restaurants. So overall pretty decent. Yet it was a very long time ago, so cannot judge now. What I can judge, is the disgusting customer service I received just now. And I did not even get to try their food again! So, I drove passed and being late (22:30) I was suprised their open flashing and door signs were switched to 'OPEN'. So I checked and on the door said '5 till Late'. Naturally I was very pleased. I looked at their online Menu while I sat outside in my vehicle for over fifteen minutes. All the while both signs were clearly still 'OPEN' with lights on inside. Naturally I decided to call and and try to narrow down my order and obviously place it. However, once someone answered I asked about the 'Mango Chicken', to which I was asked "pickup or delivery?" "Pickup" I answered. She asks someone something in presumably Hindi, to which she replies to myself "sorry you cannot order, we are closed". Clearly pissed off at this point I explain that I am sitting in front of the restaurant and ther 'Open' light and signs are both on. Not to mention the lights. She again tells myself that they are closed and we are finishing, to which I explain that I sat and waited for fifteen minutes while everything showed they were open. Silence... then a Male voice attends to explain "sorry we are finished now" I again told them well if that is the case, then why leave everything showing they are open. And after explaining my anger at their customer service and that they are open, all of a sudden someone quickly turns off all the lights, including the 'Open' sign. Why? They clearly were open still. As their lights and signs legally displayed to myself that they were still Open and serving food. So, it is apparent the cook who said "no food" could not be bothered cooking another meal for myself at that time (22:46). So dissapointed that they would resort to such sneaky methods to pretend the were not open. Especially turning everything off all of a sudden so they did not have myself walking in let alone making an order. I will never purchase from this restaurant again! Not like I got a chance to this time. However, it is very poor practice to deceit your potential customer, just because you cbf making one more curry. TERRIBLE! AVOID (Based on the fact that they are so prepared to avoid making food for customers even though the hours say 'late' and not 22:30.
It's never hard to find vegetarian options at Indian restaurants, but because so many dishes have dairy in them - finding VEGAN isn't so easy. Except here! We are SO HAPPY to see they had a FULL VEGAN MENU. Granted, you have to ask for it but once we had it, we didn't feel like we were ordering off some one-page reduction of the menu, it was a couple of pages and felt like we were ordering off a proper full menu! We started off with their Samosas - they were tasty (and *not* oily as some can be at other places) and perfectly complemented with their tangy tamarind chutney! Because we're not used to having so many VEGAN options to choose from, we decided to try a heap of curries and just take home the left-overs. So we tried their Potato & Spinach, Mixed Vegetables, Potato & Pea curries, as well as the recommended "so new it's not on the menu" dish which was recommended by the chef -- a spicy Jackfruit & Curry Leaves 'dry' style curry -- and all of them were really tasty! The faves were the mixed vegetable and potato & spinach, but we enjoyed the intense curry-leaves and spiciness of the Jackfruit! Everything went down well with our plain rice and wholemeal paratha! Interior was clean, pretty standard for the local suburban Indian restaurant - you can see little touches of effort and care in the decor - which was nice. If you're plant-based or just want a meatless dinner one night, go check Mehek out and support their new VEGAN MENU so they keep expanding on it! (HINT HINT TO THE RESTAURANT: Would love to see a DAHL or TOFU MAKHANI using cashew or coconut cream!)
I love Indian food - I’ve tried lots of Indian restaurants in the northern suburbs. I also like supporting local businesses. So I was looking forward to trying Mehek. The photos showed a creamy butter chicken and a creamy rogan josh. When I received our meal - it was a watery butter chicken and a watery rogan josh. It was so watery, there was no flavour. Maharaja in Preston is the benchmark for Indian food. They are consistent - the curries are creamy and full of flavour. They are also about the same price. And they are always busy with customers! So I was so disappointed when I paid the same amount for such low quality food. This review is not to turn customers away, but I hope the owners see this, make some changes, so more customers can visit. Please don’t compromise on quality. This place has promise - it’s a nice and cosy, but the food needs improvement. I’ll come back in a few months time to see if anything has changed, and I’ll update my review

We were very disappointed with our meal as well as the service from Mehak. Ordered for a 6.20pm delivery which was then changed to 6.40pm after ordering and was delivered some time after 7pm. The onion bhaji's were cold. One of the curry's was swimming in water (see photo), the other two curry's did not taste nice and were thrown away. The naan bread was rock solid and the rice was soggy. We called up the restaurant to provide them an opportunity to rectify this matter and they said they would send a text message with an offer of compensation. We received no text message so we complained to Menulog who we booked the meal through and they said the restaurant wanted to offer us $20 off a further meal with them. We explained we would never eat there again and wanted a full refund which Menulog then provided.
I have nothing but praise for Mehek Greensborough..I eat their food at least 3 times a week. Sometimes I call ahead and pick up the food on the way home, sometimes I order thru uberEats.. either way the service is always fast, friendly and on time. Hello all. I’m adding to my last review of MEHEK GREENSBOROUGH. Last night..actually the last 3 nights I have eaten the TANDOORI CHICKEN..what else can I say but yummo yummo. I eat a lot of Indian food but let me tell you these guys make probably the best Tandoori chicken in Melbourne. IF YOU WANT GREAT INDIAN FOOD CALL THESE GUYS. GREAT FOOD. AND REALLY GOOD PRICES

Four years ago I wrote a review praising this place to the hilt. Since then things have gone downhill markedly. This used to be my regular joint for a good indian dish, but recently the food has not been up to par. Last straw came a couple of weeks ago when I ordered a takeaway. The curry was simply loose bits of meat in a non-descript gravy and I also had to return from home to pick up parts of the delivery that were missing off the order. I won't be returning to this restaurant and will be looking for another local to fill the void left when the original owners outsourced service.
Food was great as always, but this is the first time we've dined in. Mehek is our favourite Indian restaurant in the area and you can't go wrong with their selection of curries, sides or Naan. Highly recommend the Mehek special goat for something different. Spice levels are always spot on. Dine-in service was a bit scattered. Missed two drinks, one curry order and a sides order. Also served water glasses but no water till we reminded them about it. They may have been having a bad night, and their quality in the past forgives them, so give them a try for the curries at least.
I generally do not like leaving negative reviews however given the price I paid for the food I feel it is prudent to do so. There were 6 small pieces of chicken in the butter chicken and 6 cubes of lamb in the korma, both of these curries were close to $20 each, I think that there should be more meat in these meals, either that or they should be cheaper. In total, I paid $80 for 3 curries, 2 steamed rice and 3 garlic naan. I will happily pay money for food that gives value for that money but unfortunately this was not the case.
The garlic naan actually had garlic flavour. Loved the background music The beef vindaloo was "mild" at best after the waitress said it was very hot and spicy. It was also low on the flavour side. The fish Madras was also low on the flavour side. For an Indian restaurant, this place lacked the expected complexity of flavour. Please put the spices and flavour back into your dishes!

We were there today. Fantastic ambience. We ordered the deal with lamb Rogan Josh and buttter chicken , with rice and naans. I must say the food was amazing. We have tried many other Indian restaurants but this one was beyond satisfactory. My 3 kids absolutely enjoyed their dinner. Keep up the good work with quality. Customers service is excellent too. Will be back definitely.
No flavour! My partner and I were in awe after eating the food this restaurant prepared, how can Indian food that use so many spices have little to no flavour. Food was ‘stale’, and had no kick of spice, or taste. But the customer service was excellent and the food was prepared on time.

A fragrant delight! Simple but filling mains, generously served. The Kashmiri Naan beautifully cooked. Will be returning with friends to share this remarkable little eatery. (BYO, with no corkage)

We hadn't been to Mehek for a while. Pleasantly surprised when we went for a family Mother's Day dinner. The food was exceptionally good, and consistent. In other words, not one good dish and the next no so good - which tends to happen with thus cuisine. Happy and helpful staff with quick and efficient service. Well done Mehek, we are sure to be back.
A great local Indian restaurant. We are lucky to have Mehek in our local area. The service is friendly and efficient and the curries are delicious and generous.

We regularly dine at Mehek and have never been disappointed. Last night there were some Sri Lanka curries on the specials board. I decided to try the Mango curry. It was delicious and I would certainly order again. Hubby had his usual Garlic Chili Chicken which was just as good as always

Went in the store, really different to what it looks like outside. Greeted by very helpful and friendly staff. Got the food home and it was amazing. :) I will be going back there, as this experience was amazing. Thank you guys (p.s my neighbour loved everything as well as your hospitality.)
We love this restaurant!! Service is warm and friendly. Food is absolutely beautiful, we noticed it isn't full of oil and salt which is usually the case these days and the vegan menu is a winner!! My son has chosen to go back here for his birthday dinner and we can't wait!
Moved to Yallambie few days ago. Trying Indian restaurants around. This was the first try and the food was horrible. Naan and rotis were so thick and uncooked. Curry’s masala was undercooked too.never had such naan’s in Melbourne until now in past 12 years. Not for us!
Thought we'd give it a go as there were a few good reviews. Wouldn't recommend at all. Received our delivery of Butter Chicken all for it to be full of black burnt chicken skin. Huge chunks of black burnt chicken pieces that were hard and dry. Incredibly disappointing
Delicious flavours, meat/curry containers not good value for money. The night we ordered they were only doing roti bread and it was pretty bad. That said- the flavours of the curries were excellent. We had butter chicken, Malai Kofta, chicken tikka and beef vindaloo.
YUM. Always good food and service here! We used to live nearby but now even after moving interstate we love to come here when we are visiting friends and relatives. Just always delicious food! Thank you so much.

Just had my first order delivered and very disappointed with the food. Matter Paneer was bland with only 6 dry pieces of paneer, lots of peas but little to no flavour in the sauce. Rice was plain ordinary boiled basmati, no saffron and a
Thank you. We ordered on line and the food arrived hot and ready to eat. Most enjoyable food with plenty of flavour. Will eat in when the restrictions are lifted. Can recommend the Mehek Indian Restaurant to my friends and family.
Friendly owners who gave us an underpriced, oversized meal full of succulent spiced meats, lovely flavours and delectable dips. First time but certainly not a last time customer! Thanks for the dinner, I'm stuck to the couch now!
Great restaurant, traditional flavors. I've eaten at nearly every indian restaurant in the northern district & this one tops it for me. Great service too & quick dellivery late at night just b4 they were closing....thanks guys
bro charged me $47 when on Uber eats the total added up to $37. He said he will see me again, but he definitely won’t be

Authentic and exquisite flavours, perfect balance, hands down the best Indian cuisine I’ve experienced in Melbourne for a decade every time! Lovely warm service too, loads of gluten free options. A gem indeed!
Very good food. Ordered Butter Chicken and Lamb Vindaloo takeaway and both were exceptional. Best Indian takeaway I have had in years. Highly recommended and also very cheap. Great place.
Ordered a butter chicken through here and was left very disappointed with the flavour of the butter chicken and the sauce was quite watery and not creamy. I will not be coming back here.
Some of the best Indian have eaten in a long time. Ate in. Staff were lovely. Decor bit of a retro feel with bollywood style tunes & plenty of incense to add atmosphere - loved it.
Small restaurant and quiet at the time. Went on a groupon and was surprised at how flavorful the curry was the entree was a little dry but passable. Overall a pleasant experience.
I preordered food here , still the food served late . I ordered onion salad , they charged me even though they served the salad after finishing my dinner . Meat was not so fresh .
Had a great experience. Wonderfull service with fresh food and quick service. Butter chicken and garlic naans are mouthwateringly depicious. Must try. Will come back for sure.

Amazing food! We keep coming back for more. Awesome range of Vegan and Gluten-Free options as well. Love it!
Absolutely the best indian restaurant in Greensborough hands down, also one of the best I've ever had, 10/10
Absolutely terrible food quality. I will never go to this restaurant ever again. Poor quality.
Friendly staff, very fresh tasty food. The garlic and cheese naan bread is delicious.
