Absolute worse customer service. First their staff says multiple times that they will take the fish back happily and offer a store credit for the amount it was purchased. When I actually take the fish back they move it around between staff to check and when they see that the fish is in much better condition than in it was when purchased the person on whose advice I took the fish back for a store credit steps back and another guy who comes in says that we can only offer 50% percent of the sale price as store credit. When I inform them that is not what was committed to me before by their staff they come up with all sorts of lame excuses. So basically they won’t honour their own words and are happy to make money twice of the customer first by selling something and then taking it back with 50% discount to sell it again at full price. Also the manager advices me to sell it on Marketplace knowing fully that selling livestock is not allowed there. Won’t be going ever again to these dodgy people who cant even keep their word just to make a few bucks.

Be careful what information you take on board with these guys most of them don’t have a clue what they’re talking about. Sold me a pump that was too fast for my tank even after I told him the tank is too small for that. Also got told to just put in quick start without cycling a new tank. Been out of the game so I thought maybe the conditioners are a lot better now. All my fish died within 1 month. Never going back and will trust my capabilities instead as I’ve kept fish before successfully but these guys make it too hard and confusing. DYOR and be careful the advice you get. Manager also rude you can’t even discuss with him, he’s right you’re wrong. Also they sold my mum a sand vacuum and it was clearly too big for the tank, sucks up too much sand and too quick. Got told just control the flow by cinking the tubing, oh ok…. how about you sell the correct product.

Not a great experience I bought about 10 fish to add to my aquarium. 3 of the same species died overnight. I called and they said to bring in a picture and sample of the water my fish were in. My son (8) poured the water from the bag the fish were purchased in (not quite understanding what was needed). I drive down to find out they charge $20 to test the water. So they tested the water they provided and it was too high in nitrate and so they would not replace the $27 of fish which had died. I think left and went to Petbarn (Mentone) and bought some more fish. I asked her to test the water I had from my actual tank and it was perfect. She then checked their water and again too much nitrate. Cost of testing was $0 !!!!! So not only was it not my fault the fish had died I paid $20 for the privilege. Will NOT be going back

Friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful staff; reasonable prices; variety of fish and reptiles. I visited this tore yesterday, looking for a replacement of my filter pump. I spoke to one of the guys, he showed me what they had in stock, but none of the ones they had was exactly the same as my old one. He then decided to clean it an make it work. With his behaviour he demonstrated he is there for customers; he knows his stuff; and he tries to solve customers' problems. Not many shops would do this. I will definitely be coming back and I can recommend this shop.

Great place. The staff are helpful and they have a huge range, including store-made tanks and kits. I wish they had a slightly wider range of air pumps (such as the Tetra whisper), and they were out of stock for the thinner filter sponges. Anyways, it's hard to control stock-outs and you can't sell everything. This place has enormous options for both ponds and aquariums, and has some adorable saltwater dwarf puffers. I only purchased a Ph/Kh testing kit and some seachem stability, but I will be back to browse and potentially buy some fish.

One of the best stores in Melbourne with a vast array of freshwater and saltwater fish, and many other aquarium products and services (water testing, custom tanks). There are some reptiles too - not my jam but they look pretty exotic. Pricing is pretty standard even though some products (just a few) are quite expensive compared to the market price. Would have been my go-to store if I didn't live 40km away...

The complete live water store. A bit of everything for the new or experienced buff. Wonderful (free) aquarium! Enjoyed just looking at the displays..Just everthing you could want. With lots of products you did not even know existed. As well as a varied collection of reptiles; lizards, frogs, monitors, turtles and snakes. To may pics to show though. If your passing and have an hour to spare....

I didn't like the way the bearded dragons were being kept in this shop. There were lots in the enclosures and many missing parts of their tails and some toes. I found it sad. They also had a tank with reduced price on dragons because they were missing tails and toes. I won't be buying any reptiles from this store. Please do your research before buying from a store like this.

The staff's knowledge and enthusiasm for reptiles was simply outstanding. The knowledge and experience had a big impact on my understanding of reptiles and marine life.

Got to share this gem of a pet shop. Literally called Mentone aquarium, place is actually more like a dope pet megastore. More reptiles than any other place I have been to, best selection of tanks and some really really friendly and knowledgeable staff. Bought my first python from here.

Vary large selection of tropical and Salter water fish. The also have a few nice reptiles there too. If your looking for an aquarium setup, they have a large amount to choose from. I would highly recommend them to someone that is looking to find an aquarium enthusiast store!

Great products and prices. Was shocked to see not one of the four staff members were wearing a mask, especially when all of the customers were. I felt uncomfortable. Seems incredible that all 4 young staff have medical exemptions. I visited on 3rd Jan 2022 around 12.30.

Great store , have brought a number items from here over the years. Really cool place to take the kids , it's like a free trip to a little reptile & aquarium. The girl that looks after the reptiles is amazing super friendly, helpful and gives great advice.

Good supply of everything. Reasonable pricing. Staff are always super helpful. Cool supply of reptiles too. Website sucks but apparently they are doing a new one, so make sure you call and ask if you cant find something, they often have it in stock anyway.

Friendly staff, good stock,plenty of pets,reptiles,fish. Bought our daughter a Bearded Dragon.( You MUST get a licence first to be able to have a reptile). Pleasant interaction with staff, got good suggestions for lights etc for the habitat.

Just told one of the managers that an angel fish was being eaten alive. He immediately got aggressive and came out from behind the counter and stood over me. Another manager offered to move the fish but was firmly told not to by the first.

Large store with a good selection of stock, accessories and tanks. Pricing is pretty reasonable and the staff are knowledgeable! It can be busy at times and as such can be hard to get help but apart from that it's an awesome store!

I usually get my small crickets from here. They have what I need when I need it. Staff are very friendly and showed me their baby tarantulas and scorpions. They have a good range of baby snakes, frogs, lizards and insects...

I brought 6 guppies for $40. They all died within a week. The water sample tested was fine. The temperature in my tank correct. The aquarium refused to acknowledge that the fish were inferior. Be careful buying fish here.

Got Dainty tree frogs from these guys, very quick and easy and definitely will be coming again. What lovely help I got being new to the hobby from Reece as well. Overall great atmosphere and beautiful tanks and variety.

This place is awesome for little kids..fish, turtles, snakes, lizards and frogs all available to admire. They don't appear to mind that people attend to view only. Amazing that there's no charge to be honest.

Good place to go to is buying marine fish. You can get some good deals, but also with freshwater and reptiles to have a great deal of infantry of dry goods and ornaments as well for your little friend.
