How can I begin to even describe my experience at Greenbank Metro? I was firmly handling the aubergines when I looked up and laid eyes upon tastiest treat over in the bakery. Watching Patrick the Baker, I felt a stirring in me as powerful as the automatic mixer he was so deftly operating, one that I haven’t felt since my beloved husband Alonzo passed away under mysterious circumstances. At that moment, I felt a craving for something sweet and fresh and I knew Metro Bakery could supply it. Patrick the Baker serviced me by handing me a dozen baked Goods while I looked into those dazzling blue eyes, reminiscent of the pool in which my dear Alonzo drowned in. I felt myself drowning at that moment too. I went home and devoured those baked Goods. I love Metro Greenbank and Metro Greenbank Bakery and will most definitely come again.

Parking great, easy and safe driving in and leaving the place. Staff seem pretty friendly But everytime I go here which I shop here alot they can't even be bothered to have the baskets refilled at the front door. There is two holders to hold two stacks but always empty... Always and I don't use carts ever and I ahve to go walking through the store to a cash which they have tons of stacks in order to start my grocery shopping. U don't have this issues hardly ever anywhere else (no frills, fresco, metro.. Etc).. This is really lazy in their part and is a turn off and making me wanna go to other places instead.

Wow, Angela old stirecthat needs a face lift including freezers keeping up. I remember when there was a Loeb there. Like their closest competitor down the road the only recent renovation was self serve cashes. Go figure. The two largest grocery chains' stories in Bells Corners are busy taking our cash but not upgrading their venues to keep up like Kanata. Sure you can get basics and many especially the older residents might be happy but young people will drive to a better store except when short of time Lucky the LCBO is next door as it must bring them some business. I think we deserve a catch up.

I was alone and lost in the world until one dark and stormy night I wandered into Metro Greenbank, and in my darkest hour I met HIM. Patrick of the bakery. He secreted confidence, allure, power, sensuality and dark mystery that so few have. He immediately sensed my presence and locked eyes with me from across the store. Terror griped me. How could I, a mere mortal, stand in the presence of such a God. I fled. I've thought about that night every moment of the past four years and twenty days, knowing one day I will return to see Patrick again even if it kills me. FINI.

Heads up they allow cashier to not wear a mask as she has asthma. Does not make me feel better going in there battling cancer. Will not return. As one of us could end up on a respirator trying to fight covid!! Manager aware but states she is going by health guidelines. Yet they are enforcing $5000 fines today. Staff should be on cerb to protect the rest of the community. Not RIGHT. Loblaws college square has all their staff wearing mask. That's where I will shop. Actually all other grocery stores staff wear mask....

Where do I start? Overpriced food, prices are out of control, gouging the customer. In the bread section I constantly will find bread and bagels that are past their expiry date and not discounted They have some specialty bread from Stone Mill and it's supposed to be fresh bread but I find out they freeze their bread and then change the factory expiry dates and put their own Metro expiry date on it but yet still charge a premium price Check out debit machines take a few attempts to accept phone tap.

I want to thank the manager and staff at this location for their amazing customer service. During these uncertain times this location has the safety of their employees as well as their customers in mind. I have been to other metro locations and walked out as the attitude was too nonchalant about the precautions needed. This is my go to store and that of my loved ones no matter the distance. Employee#114 you are the poster person for the metro brand. Thanks for the great experience.

  • Geoff Hamer

My local store... just moved to one star. They are saving HUGE $$$ by making us self-checkout. They only ever have one checkout lane open and today it was a trainee... slooowly scanning items. Called the manager on it and was given the convenient excuse about not being able to hire staff. I call B.S. Maybe because the pay can't retain them. The checkout is the ONLY part of this store that seems to be chronically understaffed.

Today I bought an eye of round oven roast, I asked the butcher on duty, when he will have a moment to himself ( as he was busy putting meat on the shelves ). If he can cut my roast to specific cutting, as I am making beef jerky - his respond was, he can't do this - as some meat was already cut ( rolling eyes here ) and on sale, wrong cut to make beef jerky. Told me he was alone. First time - I was said no, and given me a poor excuse.

Clean, well organized, shelves et al always kept neat & tidy, fairly well stocked. Limited size store and I assume that's why stock is limited (e.g. any given brand of yogurt is available in limited flavours - very few compared to other stores). Regular prices are high (comparable to Sobeys, Loblaws), which are hard to justify given the volume of discount stores like Food Basics and Superstore. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

  • Rachel Heron

This metro has a pretty decent selection and average prices. The freshness and quality however has been hit or miss for us during covid at least. We have managed to take home some expired items and mouldy produce on a few occasions. The staff there have always been very kind and helpful though which saves their review. Just double check the dates and the status of the fresh goods and you should be fine to shop here!

  • Incariuz

Bought some chicken earlier today, got home, opened it, and it smelt foul and like vinegar. Chicken looked fine, still had 3 days before expiration, so not what I would have expected. Edit: Management contacted me about the issue and took steps to resolve the situation, as well as inform me the issue is being investigated to prevent future issues, so I've changed my rating thanks to the good customer service.

  • Lyn Martin

This is my neighbourhood grocery store. The staff are helpful and friendly, but they seem to have a high turnover. They reduced cashiers to add a big self serve area, which I try to avoid. Can find most of what I need here, but the produce is sub standard. Sometimes the fruit and vegetables are so wilted and shrivelled I wonder how they can still offer them for sale. I go to Farm Boy instead for produce.

  • Taadow

I bought a package of chicken, brought it home and put it in the fridge immediately and within a few days it was so spoiled it smelled like fish and this was two days before the expiration date written on the packaging. We bought asparagus at the same time and only ended up being able to salvage the stems because the tops had turned to complete mush. $15 completely wasted. Very annoying.

  • Natalie Massicotte

Do not buy produce here unless it's for immediate consumption (this location specifically not metro in general). Honestly it goes bad as your ranking to your car, even when it looks perfect in store, has happened soooo many times. If this store wasn't so convenient I would not return, but it is, so I begrudgingly go 2 or 3 times a year when I need a quick item or 2

  • Brandon Mclean

Was just there 5 minutes ago try to interact with the b***** looking cashier how's your day not one word out of her mouth but BAGS ? I go to this Metro a lot because I work right down the street from it but the experience today and how many questions I asked her and not have one word out of mouth I will definitely think twice before returning

  • Sea Kay

This place is garbage. Their fruits are always molded and they cover it up, especially strawberries. Usually throw out half the package once you open and see inside. Their bread is 4 dollars. FOUR DOLLARS for a loaf of bread?!? Everything else is extremely overpriced. They should be investigated for price gouging for sure.

  • Angela D

This metro is pretty decent. The staff are helpful if you need help finding something. It's pretty clean and items are fresh. Only 4 star because prices are a bit higher when you compare to other grocery stores for the same item, but if you live around here then it's convince you are buying of not having to travel further.

  • Dustyn Kerr

I showered in hand sanitizer here , pants, shoes, part of the jacket sleeve, the dispenser was so "giving" all for free to, I was pulled over for my tinted windows on my truck after shopping here and had to convince the police the cheap tequila smell was from the sanitizer at the metro grocery store hahahaha

  • Richard Merrill Haney

LITERALLY....A SUPER...MARKET !! I have been shopping here for over 35 years. A real community shopping experience. Large enough to have a huge range of reasonable priced stock and small enough to provide friendly and helpful services..... Thanks, Metro Greenbank.....

  • Mark Asselstine

The typical local grocery store, great for quick in and out shopping. No clothes, no pharmacy just groceries. Never too busy, almost always convenient parking, and available bike racks. The staff is friendly and helpful. The store is usually clean and well stocked.

  • Robert Van Tassel

This is a small grocery store. It is convenient for quick things that one might need if you live in the area. I find it more expensive than a Walmart and there has always been lines of no less than 5 ppl at every cash register so they need more of those to be open.

  • Allan Laevens

The store is a bit smaller and sometimes the line-up takes time when the students are working. This store is average, nothing great, nothing terrible. Staff are always friendly. Never had one disgruntled employee. Pretty good selection for it's size.

  • Dave Myles

Half the size of some others in area, but fruits/veggies and other produce is always better. Small detail perhaps, but not when considering getting it from larger competitor often results in throwing out bag fulls of 'new fruit' a day or 2 after

  • Dan Laqveau

THANKGIVING DAY! HAM PACKAGED SEPTEMBER 30TH, THE HAM IS ROTTEN....THANKS FOR ALLOWING OUR FAMILY TO HAVE GRILL CHEESE FOR OUR THANKSGIVING DINNER!!!!! THIS ISNT THE FIRST TIME HOWEVER WILL BE THE LAST TIME. GOODBYE METRO!!!!! …

  • Donnie Garrow

Not the most well run Metro. Too long a wait for service and to check out. Staff did the best they could to keep things moving but not enough staff on hand to handle the dinner time rush. This is on management. Product was fine.

  • J Hart

5 stars for the hard working staff, 3 stars for the grocery options. I've spoken with management who are very respectful. There just are delivery, supply issues ....possibly covid related. Not sure. Balance is 4 stars.

  • Jesse Gillis

Great store. Patrick in the bakery is so helpful and dreamy. I asked him where the cinnamon buns were but got lost in his beautiful eyes and ended up leaving empty handed. Just means I'll have to go back tomorrow ;)

  • Vernon Simkins

Great care seems to always be taken with the produce and meats, a convenient store to have In your neighborhood. The staff always seem to be in good spirits too, which helps with the customer service experience!

  • Susan Holmes

Good selection for relatively small location compared to some. I go here regularly as its less busy then other locations. I find the staff mixed though most are good but a couple I could do without.

  • Bruce Hong

I like the nearby Metro store, especially the bakery ! the price is not expensive and reasonable. The items meet our daily life. The checkout is quick and there is a new machine-checkout option.

  • Eli Rich

Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. No comparison to your Loblaws or other grocery store. My favourite!! And I find everything I need. Meat is high quality. More and more organic products.

  • Will Miller

I like this Metro, easy to get to, lot's of free parking and great staff. They recently put in self check outs, and keep only one or two check outs open, but usually there's no long waits

  • William Brown

Love this place. You can park near the entrance and get in and out in minutes. Well stocked and if they don't have it, you can live without it. Can't stand those mega grocery stores.

  • Laura C

Good medium sized grocery store. Cheap pizza night on Wednesdays. In a mini mall plaza with drugstore and a Tim Horton's. Ample parking. Restaurant options around the Metro as well.

  • King Minty Fresh

Worst store to get groceries... bread is 10 days expired, avacadoes are rotten. don't buy anything from here unless it is packaged up and doesn't expire (and even then, be careful!)

  • Burnuts

Decent place for your shopping needs! Staff are great at this location! I usually go early on so I can’t comment on how busy this place gets! Parking looks like it could be tight!

  • Debbie Vanek

Today the small carts were dirty seniors were grabbing them anyway while dude ignored my request to clean them and carried on his conversation with store staff. Very disappointed

  • Stanislaw Hrouste

This METRO offers a reasonable selection of fresh quality  products, good service and convenient parking.  What else can a customer ask for? This is my favorite store.

  • Ana Bertha

This supermarket it's close to us, but sometimes you can't find something like grounded chicken or others products also. It's good for something you need right away.

  • eHudsonification

Super friendly cashiers, clean and well-organized, very few lineups. A little more expensive than the other chains, but worth it. Just wish they redeemed PC Points!

  • Shaun Hughes

I'm wondering with the new Light Rail System (LRT) now in full swing in Ottawa if Metro will consider changing their name... Original thought trademark Shaun Hughes

  • Elle V

This Metro store had a great selection of Kosher foods and I was able to find some Passover crackers here which are very difficult to find in my home community.

  • Chris Harrington

Staff are all completely unhappy working at this location... Or at the very least talk about applying at other metro locations within earshot on a regular basis

  • Hockey Girl

It's a typical grocery store. Sale items are good, otherwise Metro is on the more expensive side. The store is kept clean, and employees are generally helpful.

  • Meghan O'Connor

Great small grocery store... love the bakery products and the neighbourhood feeling within. Staff friendly and helpful. Prices fair to good for smaller store.

  • Josh Sweig

Clean location, everything was in stock, and prices were standard for these types of grocers (higher end). Good surprise to see some nice sales deals as well

  • pierre april

Service is great. It has all your basic amenities and the butcher always has nice steaks!! Also can get some_ bonus air miles on some of thier greats deals!

  • Dave Duchaine

Really nice grocery. Many fresh fruit and vegetables. The company is from Quebec so they also have a lots of thing we don't find in other grocery store.

  • LJG SEC (LT.)

The store now has self-checkouts, less customer service and higher prices. Metro is much higher priced, especially the smaller neighborhood stores.

  • Naturally Crowned

Pretty decent supply, clean and fresh produce, some helpful/friendly staff, great selection at the deli. Hit or miss with pricing, can't complain.

  • James Eaton

Great meat, good produce and deli departments, but uncompetitive on prices - milk and eggs and yogurt are more expensive than even Loblaws.

  • Chantal Manning

Although pricey, the store is clean and has nice fresh produce. The only thing I can mention is on their busy days they have insane lines.

  • t g

Decent store. Decent service. I would go there again if I'm in the area. Small & tight parking, but seems like it's enough for everybody.

  • Heather Pease

Great location at Greenbank and Hunt Club. Helpful, polite and courteous staff. Neat and well-stocked store. Our family shops here often.

  • Denise Rancourt (wildncute2210)

they went out of their way to put an extra special decoration on my daughter's birthday cake....now that is great customer service!!!!

  • OY CN

They had everything I wanted, very reasonable prices, and the cashier at the checkout was very friendly. What more could you ask for?

  • Michael March

Choices were all there. See self check out is coming, this should speed up things for my type of shopping, where I grab 2-3 things..

  • Mike Ducharme

This metro is not the place to shop if you want good produce. Produce is regularly past it's best and should not be on the shelves.

  • ATHIRA JS

Its a small metro and i dont think there is much sale, the lamb i bought was stale and i dont know why you guys sell stale meat??

  • Daniel Srugo

It has what is needed but what a cold place! I normally go really quick over the aisles not to feel the cold. Very unpleasant.

  • Yuri Dembin

If you want to try the best pizza for the best price you might want to go to Metro and find out you will not regret it. …

  • Sylvia D

Although the store is not huge they have a very good vegan selection among other things. Staff is always helpful and friendly.

  • Christi Volden

Has everything I need, and service is always good :) Today I had especially great service from cashier Lyndsey. Made my day!

  • Tino LaFratta

Favorite grocery store, SMALL and they have everything, the butcher dept. is awesome and will cut my steaks like I like em.

  • Claude Levesque

First time I shop here. Small store, but, busy, not enough cash outs open every row customers waiting. I am not going back.

  • Christos Kiriakakis

They've kept up with provincial guidelines and the staff have been immensely courteous and patient. They are all amazing!

  • Scott Watson

This is one of the best stores I've been in a Long Time. nice going staff, shoppers love a clean store that is in order.

  • scott Thompson

Love the beach here...when it's not crowded...pretty cool to see the sunrise come up here...but you have to get up early

  • caitlin featherston

Very small store, not a lot of options to choose from. Always the same options, expensive, and not always best quality

  • Paul Rose

I go to this particular store to get products that may not be stocked at other Metro locations, like kosher cheese

  • Ron Couchman

Their prices are way above competitors. They haven't seemed to reduce prices recently like many other stores have.

  • Yifan Ling

Average Metro, kinda expensive for produce and meats. Fresh Bakery on site with deli and hot foods. Pretty clean.

  • Cassandra McKewen

Love this store. The location is great and they always have everything on hand. Good customer service aswell.

  • Nicolas Bettenburg

Good food selection, veggies not as fresh as say farmboy but OK when you plan to make a meal within 48 hours.

  • J D-S

Head everything I needed and was still open, with reduced availability (which is fine) during a power outage.

  • Miriam McConnell

Very convenient location. Good deals on meat sometimes, but overall prices are higher than many competitors.

  • Donna Allen

A very friendly spot with caring and helpful staff. Always a variety of items on sale. Great location too.

  • Rosemary O'Connell

Metro is doing a very good job of following the Covid-19 protocols set out by OPH. Thank you to the staff!

  • Karen Lowes

Good values on fresh fruit, especially berries and fresh meat. Not much selection in this small store.

  • Julia

Easy to find items. Large enough to carry good variety but not too big to get lost in. Friendly staff.

  • Leah Kirk

Doesn't have kimchi. Clean, good local produce options, accessible entrances. Bike rack outside, too.

Parking lot is smaller but location has great stock and cheaper fruit platter prices than loblaws.

Great place to go. Since the new store was built. They have more of a selection. Staff are great.

  • jane jones

Great store, great butcher shop, everything is clean and tidy and well stocked at this location

A nice location. Helpful staff, No huge lineups at checkout, good selection of products.

  • Jesse Ladouceur

Other than the self checkout it is a great store great people very friendly staff

Good selection. Produce is usually fresh. Always lots of sales and bulk deals.

  • Justin

The food that they put on sale is regular price at Walmart. Way overpriced.

  • Mark Price

Fast friendly service and the hot lunch selection is pretty good! Thanks eh

  • Gabriel Tessier

Nice store. Didn't carry my favourite smoked meat like the one on Merivale.

  • Steve Bourgon

Clean store, friendly staff, like everywhere else prices are a little high

  • T S

Less one bc it’s just annoying that you can’t go in and out the same doors

  • B Nickel

I like this store bc it's smaller and quicker but still has great variety

  • Jason Massia

Great staff but high prices, especially for gluten free breads and bakery

  • tristan rundle

Dirty, no bags, no cashier's available, wizened produce, unhelpful staff.

  • Luis Ascencio

All you need in a medium size location. All the stuff are very friendly.
