Even though there were Midas location closer to where I live now, I returned to this Midas location at 2737 Pembina Highway because they installed my brakes a few years ago and was happy with the work, and also had the “lifetime warranty” on the brakes, which needed replaced, in addition to a caliper. Service at this location has gone downhill since my last visit, and the “lifetime warranty” on the breaks is just to bait you to come into the store, where they will make their profit back and overcharge you in other areas. Initially, the service representative I spoke with was pleasant, but after they looked at my car, he was short on the phone when I asked a few questions on pricing and recommended work vs. required work. When I asked for a breakdown of the cost of parts vs labour he told me that the one caliper cost $180 for the part and he said that was a good deal (I know they sell for $60 from various parts stores in the city). When I told him another mechanic in the city quoted me $140 for the exact same part, his response was that he could put everything back together and that I could take my business elsewhere. The inflated price of the caliper, in addition to the inflated cost to install the caliper (they charged me twice for essentially the same job, not factoring in that most of the labour is done when replacing the brakes so there’s less labour in replacing the caliper), eliminates the “lifetime warranty” benefit on the brake parts (yes I understand I pay the labour for warranty on the brakes). The service representative was also unwilling to provide an estimated time of when my vehicle would be ready, only saying that ”I’ll call you when it’s ready”. I needed my car fixed, so I proceeded with having them fix it, but I won’t be returning to this location for future repairs on my vehicle. I will take the service representative's advice and will be taking my business elsewhere next time, possibly to Fountain Tire or to an independent mechanic. I raised some of my concerns with the manager when picking up my vehicle and he was unresponsive and just gave me the standard corporate response, ensuring to maximize his profit. This location’s business model is obviously to suck as much money out of you as possible during the one transaction, and don’t seem to care about return business. I have an older model vehicle that will likely need more work done in the near future, but I won’t be taking it here again. I left here feeling like I was ripped off. Sure they got a couple hundred bucks in profit out of me this time, but lost more in future business from me. I’ll take this as the cost of a lesson learned.

If you don’t know much about cars MUST STAY AWAY. I am pretty sure the pay is commission based at this location. I went for winter tire change, they offered wheel alignment so I took the offer. I went to nearby starbucks while they work on my car, they called me THREE times just to get me to pay them $1,500+ for some stuff my regular dealership never mentioned. They put on “I care about my customer’s safety” face and try to talk you into “Do you know what this is? This is going to destroy your car. This will save you thousands of dollars in long run”. I didn’t fall for it and they tried to charge me more by changing the numbers on my invoice. They will not show you the price for the services you received until you pay for it. If you already made a mistake of going to this place already MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE PRICES OF THE SERVICES before you pay for it. They will insist you have to pay first to see it but eventually They will show it to you on their computer screen. The lady - I think she said her name is Alex - tried charging me $30 more than what she told me when she offered me wheel alignment. I brought it up to her attention and the expression she had on her face while she was fixing the price was just... I’ve never seen anyone making such angry face over $30. Just stay away from this place. This place was so much better before. Maybe the owner changed. MUST STAY AWAY PEOPLE!

I have been repairing my own vehicles for 40 years and only take it in for things I can’t do such as alignments or transmission work. I have had plenty of bad experiences at the dealer and CT as it seems my vehicle always comes out with new problems it didn’t have going in. This time I had replaced the struts on my caravan and needed an alignment. I took it to Midas and they gave me a free estimate for the front end. It needed two additional parts, but they gave me the option to replace them myself which tells me the problem was real. I took the van home and replaced one outer tie rod end, but took it back for the inner. I checked the parts they said were bad and sure enough they were. The part was replaced and the alignment was done in a matter hours I drove the van for a couple of days and it is perfect. Really happy with the work and knowing they have no problem with me double checking if parts are worn out. Will be going back for additional work when needed.

Bunch of goofs, rather refuse work than actually do it. If there is anything wrong with your car no matter how minor they will refuse to work on it if it's not what you made the appointment for. Doesn't matter if you explained to them beforehand of your circumstances they will just outright refuse your vehicle. Belittled me, lied to my face, insulted my vehicle in which I take a lot of pride in in front of other customers, treated me as hostile without me even raising my voice, and the advisor interrupted me multiple times while I was trying to speak. When they did shotty work the first time and when I complained they told me they couldn't do anything, when I went back to get it fixed with my own money they were all of a sudden "too afraid to break something." I wouldn't recommend this location to anyone anymore. Beware when taking your vehicle here for anything other than an air filter change (Although they may just refuse to do that anyways).

LIARS, LIARS, LIARS! Don't trust these guys! Went in for a regular oil change, was told that the spring on my front struts are broken on both sides. The manager even showed me a broken piece of the spring he said that came from my vehicle. I went to a different auto mechanic and have the front struts replaced. After the job was done, I asked to see the old struts and was told the struts are just fine. The spring was 100% intact and the struts didn't need to be replaced. Hundreds of dollars wasted! BTW, the brakes he recommended that I replace still have about 75% life on it. ------------------------------------------ I had my rear rotor and pad replaced at this Midas in 2012. Today, during a routine oil change, they told me that I needed to get new rotor and pads for both the front and back. I had only put 40,000 miles on my car since they installed the new rotors and pads for the rear, and they tell you they offer lifetime warranty.

My son got the "midas touch" First time there for an oil change (he's had other work done in the past) only because of a coupon. They said the oil plug was stripped! If it came out, it should go back in. All previous oil changes were done by a reputable lube shop and they always torqued the drain plug to oem specifications! How can it go for 15+ oil changes at the lube shop, and the first time at midas it need a new drain plug for $15.00! I feel they took advantage of him, and up saled him. They also said it needed an inner tie rod. When just a few weeks prior he had it in for exhaust work and they said it needed an outer tie rod. Why didnt they catch the other one when they had it in a few weeks prior? (Now i question previous work, did it actually need the part? Thats the last time our family brings anything to midas pembina hwy south! So much for the coupon!

Really bad experience. They broke a coupler for the cooling system on the car whilst doing a coolant flush. They said they would order a replacement (at our own cost), which 2 months later we still haven't heard back. They tried to patch up the system which resulted in the car breaking down twice. Had the invoice examined by a mechanic friend, who pointed out that we were massively over charged on components & labor. Cheapest components used and charged over double the shop value, charged full labor for 3 related systems that were already in pieces because of the other work being done. This seems like a practice that unless you know about whats involved in vehicle mechanics you would never challenge, but is pretty shady. Honestly just go somewhere else. Not trust worthy or reliable. This was at the 2737 Pembina location

Please turn around and go find other places for service. I replaced my braking pads and rotors at Midas on south Pembina, they charged me 860 bucks for the front ones[i drive a cheap car]! Yes, i agreed on the quote and let them do the work since i was not sure the reasonable cost for replacing this at my first time. After i asked around, they charged the most among all the other placed. Before i left there, the front desk promised i could charge a loose battery there for free, when i brought it there, they changed the mind, i was told by the manager: "nothing is free man, we charge 30 bucks for doing it!" i paid for this lesson, to make it worthy, i here share this with everyone of you. [Bonus: Fountain Tire cross the road patches my tire and charged my battery for free]

DON'T GO HERE!! I took my car here to get a safety and it failed, so I personally repaired them and tried taking it back within the 30 days to get it checked again, but suddenly they were not allowed to touch it because it wasn't insured, but why could they touch it the first time around. they told me to go to auto pack and get temporarily insurance meanwhile auto pack will not give your insurance unless it has been safetied! So I called them to complain and they said they would call me back and they never did and now they are ignoring my calls. Midas or at least this location is just a money scam, Go somewhere else!!!!!

This was our first service at Midas on Pembina South, as we typically have our vehicle serviced by another local service centre. From the moment we called with the inquiry, to picking up the vehicle Tyler was honest and provided good suggestions as to how to resolve the issue and - after dealing with years of poor AC - we have been able to enjoy a cool vehicle as we travel to various Manitoba destinations this summer. We've even had the kids complain that it was 'too cold'! Thank you, Tyler and team, for providing such great service. We will continue to bring our vehicle to your location on Pembina for service...

My engine was not repairable so my only option was to buy a new engine for around 3k, which definitely wasn't worth it for my Chevy Cobalt 06. So I asked simple questions like where to take my car to get rid of it (since I don't know anything about cars), and they couldn't answer any of my questions.. I was just told that I needed to get my car out of their lot before the weekend. I finally found a towing service on my own who paid to have it melted down but it would have been great to be pointed in the right direction instead of blown off. If I have any car issues in the future I'll probably try somewhere else.

Prices are deceiving, it is not what is said or advertised and when you make inquiries over the phone as promised and even confirmed it a day before my appointment about the price but still price was overcharged. Not organized I make an appointment but when I get there they deny it wasn't booked. It would be best to record your conversation in asking for appointment or for the price for it would be easy for them to deny it would be a waste of time. If there is a star less than one I would rate them the lowest. I would never recommend this place nor come back.

  • Sahil Sharma

If I could give a 0 star I would. I booked an appointment for safety inspection on my vehicle and showed up right on time and was told I can come back in couple of hours to pick it up. When I came back after about 2 hrs, I found they haven’t even started inspection and I wasn’t even notified about the delay. All I got in response is that they will start it at 3pm and that wasn’t even a guaranteed thing. Recommend not going over there to waste your time. Look for another location. Never had this issue on any other Midas location

Where does one begin to share what phenomenal service you get with going here for any kind of maintenance or changes. Had a check engine light come on, got quotes and here was the best I got! Phoned the manager James, and he was great! Like, just great! He was able to squeeze me in the day I phoned. Even knocked off a few bucks for having to wait for a part! The service was fast, friendly and just overall awesome! Highly recommend for any vehicle needs! -roger

I have been a loyal customer to this particular Midas location for 5 years. Midas has always taken excellent care of my vehicle, and treated me like a valued customer. The staff are friendly, professional, and take the time to explore multiple repair options, allowing me to choose what parts and price-points are the right fit for my situation. On the rare occasion that a mistake was made, management went above and beyond to make things right.

Hi guys, I went for a basic oil change for $39 and then... I noticed they were creating more engine problems to make more money in the name of the basic inspection, because when I went my car was running quietly, smoothly and there was no engins maintenance sign, but as soon as I left after oil change from there my engines maintenance sign popped up and lots of noises was coming from the exhaust system. So better I advise you dont go there.

I was struggling in the city. Cars struts broke and I was from out of town. The guys took my vehicle. Not only fixed it but also gave me a list of things that was wrong with my vehicle that needed fixing. The guy in the front was very informative. They took my vehicle in every night as it was winter. Thank you guys! My car was smoking from down the street when they noticed me. This was back in 2018. Thank you guys for helping me out.

  • L Wicky

I went to this place to screw a loose nut and they charge me $45 for it. To screw this nut it won't take 1 min. When I asked them why $45 they mentioned they perform some tests (which I didn't ask to do or they didn't ask me to get my permission). This is the worst nightmare just paid and left. But I always keep the bill as my souvenir. Be careful you may also experience something similar to me next time when you go to this place.

  • Brad Cressman

Service rep was most helpful and honest. Had a good sense of humor. Spent two hours trying to understand the cause of my problem and ultimately determined that it was not in their wheelhouse to fix. They made a recommendation as to where they thought it could be fixed. I appreciated the candor. A lot of places would've given it there best guess and billed regardless of outcome. I would highly recommend this place.

  • Alundra P

Really honest, kind people! I went in thinking there was something very wrong with my car and they took the time to listen to identify the noise. It turns out with the extreme weather, parts of my car were just not functioning properly and there was nothing mechanically wrong. I really appreciated their help identifying the problem and I will be going back! Thank you to Paul, Craig and the rest of your team!

  • Nathan Correa

Thank you to Midas on Pembina south for such amazing service and getting my car taken care of for the upcoming season. I’ve gone to other maintenance shops in the city and feel like I had to do a lot of things myself instead. Glad my friend Tyler let me know he worked here! Was in and out within the hour and no curveballs or unreasonable pricing. Will definitely be coming here for the next season!

  • Grigory Shamov

We have changed oil there once and our car got slightly broken in several places after that. I have asked for the long mileage oil, they put semisynthetic one instead. During the stay at Midas, the car developed a dead turn light and a leak in steering fluid it did not have before our visit. If you have an old car do not bring it there, they will break it. Stay away.

  • Bradley “Brad” Peters

When I booked an appointment for muffler I told them the issue. When I arrived they looked at it and said they couldn’t do it because their muffler guy was not there. So....why inspect and and book me in then? Wasted a whole day with this clowns. Manger there is a real jerk as well. Zero professionalism Go elsewhere!

  • Britt Thiessen

we have only had top rate service from Midas. They have taken time to explain why the problem happened and what needed to be done in the most cost efficient way. They didn't try to get me to do anything that wasn't needed or sell me additional services. They were also friendly and fast. We will definitely be back!

  • Dentine Walter

This guys tried to rip me off for a simple oil change. Starting from the Indian dude at the front counter to the manager. I went in for a simple oil change and these guys just charged me without changing the oil. The oil in my cad still reads 20%. Did y’all honestly think you played a fast one ? 0 stars if I could

  • Jeremy SKY

Stay away from this place! Went there to change my winter tires back on my car, then they call me said my front breaks need to be change today! (I checked my break and it's still good for couple months) and they even told me that's gonna be $739 for the front break pads and routers!!! What the hell?

  • Taylor Melborne

Love this place!! Just took my truck there and they were very quick, and very honest. Last time i was there, it was a different owner but this newer guy is so so friendly and I feel i can really trust him and his crew!

  • Mike Zettler

Tyler and Dale were great. There was a problem with the originally scheduled time but they were busy as hell so a re-schedule was in order, and they got it done. Thanks guys, see you next time and the next time, etc.

  • Alexandra H

I can’t even put in words how bad the customer service was at this location. Awful. Never, ever returning to this location and the guy at the front desk might have ruined the experience for all locations.

  • Emma Altman

I needed to get my car in right away and they were quick to get me in and gave me updates all through the day. Service was amazing go and see Trevor you won’t be disappointed ! Thanks Midas

  • Rn

Excellent customer service. I dropped off my car for service. I came in late to pick it up because the bus was late. A guy stay late for me to pick up the key. Highly appreciated!!!

  • Ahmad R.zadeh

They are so friendly. They went through to find the issue and fixed it asap with a reasonable price. I am so satisfied with their service and absolutely refer them to my friend.

  • Corey

Came here for an oil change. There was a slight misunderstanding. Tyler who was super helpful and great helped me out! Recommend this shop and Tyler as the guy to give you hand!

  • Uncaged Falcon

Pretty good mechanics .. they obey everything whatever u need to do on car .. on pretty simple prices but before you go to Midas .. you need to get an appointment 24 hrs before

  • Corpseman_113

Nice and efficient service, dropped off my vehicle for an oil change and were able to pick it up not long after. I rarely give 5 star to places but this one def gets it.

  • Patrick May

I have gone here a few times for any work that's not warrantied through a dealership. Service has always been fantastic. Very friendly, straight-forward bunch.

  • Scott Wood

Wow, top notch service! The guys here take care of you and minimize your costs. I know where I’ll be coming for all my tire and repair needs. Highly recommend!

  • SMARTBMAR

The staff and service are fantastic.. I have gone to this Location for 20 years. Always great. Would never go any where else. Thanks to Doug and all his staff

  • Ornob Tizwarz

Never ever go there. They are all liars. They will rip you off, if you do not know anything about car. The guy Jerry is unprofessional and rude

  • Onyinyechi Okonkwo

They lack honesty and would try to extort money from you. They try to create problems for your car.I'm glad I sought a second opinion
