This park is great! Its smaller than the other parks around its area, but it has a nice jogging trail with a small playground for kids. I went around 3pm and the park was near empty with 5 to 6 people there at a time. If you want to get a nice social distance jog, come early. This is one of those "whole in a wall" parks that you won't notice until you drive by it. The value may go down as people start discovering it and it gets crowded, but right now its my favorite park to jog. Wish I would have found this peaceful gem a long time ago.
Sunset beautiful from east side of 1.13 mile, circular track (hiking/biking). Tree lined on west side of park. Understand Mike Driscoll Park is a flood control "bowl" with a cement spillway on the north side, & a small kiddie park (S.E. corner). Entrance & Exit are on south bound Houston West Center Rd (east of Dairy Ashford) 200 yards north of limited parking under the Westpark Tollway. /// /// Traffic lights at Westpark Tollway Are Complex / Pay Attention. Sorry about compass descriptions.
A large open track perfect for walking, running, and taking the bike for a ride. There are a few benches for sitting scattered about, but the major feature of this park is the large track. Wonderful views of the field at the center of the track throughout. There is a small playground for kids at the front end of the park. No public restrooms, water fountains, or porta-potties. Great park, only complaint was the noise pollution of the traffic, but that almost seems inevitable in the city.
Not to big.. but a very nice park under the bridge parking.. is cool to park under West Park toll road.. and they have a nice kids park with nice slides and swings... The kids always enjoy every time we come here... Some time is a little busy but that is ok... The Walk part is nice and pretty long.. but not to big.. so you can spend 20, 30 minutes here just working out by walking or jogging, running whatever you like.. I like to come to this park.. can't wait to be back again.!
This is a great place to walk, jog, ride bikes or walk your dogs. They have a playground for the kiddos too! My husband and I used to call it haunted dog park because for some reason my hundred pound black Labrador was scared to go there. "He sees dead doggies" we would say, after the movie Sixth Sense. But when they gave it a name and made it all official, the dog ghosts must have gone away. He's long gone too now, sweet boy.
This park is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of life. Under the westpark tollway its surprisingly quiet and a nice spot to bring your kids if they are younger. Has a nice walking trail around the storm pond as well. Do be careful with following the rules of the park and road though as the constable who patrols the tollway loves to sit in the parking area and give out tickets.
This is a nice quiet place to walk. Not crowded at all. It's amazing how the city provides dog bags, but dog owners still refuse to pick up after their dogs, unbelievable! Nothing worse than the ones who let their dogs poop ON the trail. Why, when there is grass on both sides! Someone got sick and instead of turning slightly to the grass, threw up right on the trail, disgusting!
I would not consider this a true park, since I believe it's primary purpose is as a water reservoir, and secondary purpose is a park. It has a very small fenced playground for younger kids and an excellent 1.2 mile paved trail around the reservoir for walking and running. I applaud its dual purpose function, but be advised that it does not have water fountains or restrooms.
I like this park. It's a nice size to go roller-skating around. People were walking and jogging. It's in a nice location. We were there at 11 am. Only a few other people walked around the trail while we skated. By the time we were done, more people came walking their dogs. Check it out if you want a simple spot to get some exercise. A new roller skating spot for us
A great addition to the western side of Houston! The playground is in good condition and is gated, the parking lot is covered, and the walking route is large and offers a pleasant view of nature. No bathrooms are to be found here, which makes this a little tough to visit for long periods of time.
I love how most of the parking is covered here under the westpark tollway. Nothing beats getting into a car that isn't hotter than Houston already is. Each lap is a little over a mile so it's easy to track your speed and progress here with having to hold any apps open.
I am a cyclist & its a good distance AROUND 1x & I enjoy that!! It has a big nice place for the CHILDREN to play so They do not run all around the path. It pretty much a quiet park except the traffic doing to & from the TOLLWAY. I ENJOY EVERYTIME I RIDE!!!
I love this park because its always clean and peaceful no matter the time of day. I Can tell they spray pesticides here because I haven't had any massive mosquitoes bites from coming here. Very good and safe place to go walking or reflecting.
Each loop is a little over a mile. The track is in good condition and its pretty safe. it would help if they added a water fountain for those hot summer days. Great spot if you dont want to drive all the way out to Memorial Park
I got there to walk and jog and get some tanning. I like that I can park my car in the shade below the bridge. Keeps it cool in summer. The park has a children area and usually you see other people on the track.
It's cool.. only 1.3 miles around
Dog-friendliness
Have to stay on leash which sux. There's a huge area we could use in the middle to throw Frisbee or balls with the dog when Millie Bush is too muddy.
It's a nice 1 mile path that has a little park for children at the entrance. There's also a pond/lake next to the path and there's an incredible breeze that comes from it. I took pics that I posted.
Ok place for small children to play can be seen off the streets but, need a restroom for customers., unless once time to use the restroom just go home. End of play for the children. …
Great time of year to walk the easy 3/4 mile trail in this park. It is paved and there were very few people on this cool misty day. There's a small playground but no public facilities.
Nice small park, parking is under westpark tollway. No restrooms there, play area for kids. No water fountains and during the summer not many large trees for shade a long the pathway.
It's right next to a toll way and a major street, it really doesn't have any trees and the play area for kids it's way to small. it's only one set of swings and a small play area.
The park is not crowded and it's clean. Good place to take a walk if the stinch of nearby sewer does not bother you. It has a park for small and bigger kids and a few swings.
The playground is good a great trail to one but the sewer had be gagging. Wow it's strong but aside from that it's a good park and playground. The smell hopefully clears up
My church hosted our Easter picnic here this Easter would make it the third time, the park is clean and spacious, it also has play area for kids and a cool water place.
Great place for a run or walk. The track is almost a mile long. There is a play area for kids. Has a parking lot too. Entrance is located on West Houston Center Blvd.
This place is a really beautiful area there's even a small playground for your children and if you like to jog there's a whole trail wrapping around the entire plain
Nice peaceful park near everything, walking path to get your cardio in. Only bad thing is that there is no restrooms, have to go to gas station down the street.
Great place to walk your dog, or just go on a walk...has a great big huge space in the middle of the walking path, good for your dog to run through and play...
A nice open park that's great for cycling or jogging. The loop is just over a mile and is mostly flat except for a dip near the bayou
A small and simple park - actually I think it is built around a retention pond. It’s a good size to take the dog for a walk. …
Usually not crowded, the trees, flowers, and birds are always nice to look at while walking. A restroom would take it to 5 stars.
Good for lower cost options with their own products. Assistance at this store is sub-par, especially in electronics department.
This park is great for the whole family's, pets, kids it's a straight hiking trail, cool place to really enjoy your workout.
Great place to go running and walking. The only issue is the lack of parking space in the evenings and lighting when dark.
It's closer to where I live. I go there for a walk most of the time. Has a playground for kids with few sitting spaces.
I really like this park. It's about 1.1-1.2 miles for a lap. The only thing I wish was that there was a water fountain.
There are nice size cats in Bread Bayou. We had to switch to salt water gear to keep the fish from stripping the line.
Unfortunately my car was broken into at 8 in the morning on a Tuesday. Beware of leaving any valuables in your vehicle
Excellent green space for walking, running or taking a break. Seems like they are expanding one of the trails as well!
Nice calm park to go-to, overall we loved it although there is no restrooms for the little ones that can't hold it .
My grandson and I enjoyed Mike Driscoll Park very much. It really nice and clean, especially the kid's play ground.
Great just one suggestion please we need restroom other than that everything was good clean ,safe and. friendly .
No water when I came in December, disappointed. Pretty small, and walked one round, and it is just over 1 mile.
Nice little walk around the pond, or river I guess maybe.... apparently they have 6ft gar in there.... yikes!!!
This park is always a mellow scene. Love to walk here during the week, I haven't been during the weekend yet .
Well kept, quite, pet friendly & a great place for visit. Time can pass away so fast just relaxing here.
Great park, but need some street light at the parking area, we don't want any kids get hit by vehicle.
Great walking trail for the area, clean and well kept. There is a small playground there as well.
A nice nature trail in the middle of the hustle and bustle of Houston city with a kids play area.
Nice walking/ running trail. They have equipment for children to play on. Usually not crowded.
Such a wonderful place...very clean, peaceful and well put together. No restrooms, long trail
Such a beautiful and calming place to speak with the Lord while doing your morning run …
Beautiful, clean and serene park. But way too much bugs. It is overpopulated with Mosquitoes
Lots of trees, if there were water fountains and at least one bathroom it would be perfect.
The park is clean, the trail is very smooth. Family oriented no riffraff. Feels very safe.
Good location for weekday jogger or relaxing with less crowd in the morning and afternoon
Great park. Need more spaces and less bicycles Bicycle riders need to learn etiquette
Beautiful to take the kids to the park then afterwards take a nice walk
Love it here. The trail is a nice walk. I do wish it had restrooms.
Lovely place to go and walk. Kids can have fun at the playground.
Is a cool park but the only problem is there's no restroom.
It's a nice park for short walks after a long day at work.
Nice place to work out. Might need a clean up of the bush.
Love the fact it hasn't been discovered yet
Beautiful park with kids play ground
I LOVE this park!
