A couple of the bar staff when I went in a few days ago (a couple of broey guys who collect bad records, and especially one girl with jet black hair) were acting like absolute tossers. They seemed intent on belittling those around them and throwing their weight around with an imagined sense of superiority. Highly pretentious, rude, dull and childish. The whole place has a really irritating millenial vibe in that sense and subsequently lacks a lot of class. Respect to Monty for a nicely designed bar, nice woodwork and such and good drink selection, but I think he should be more wary of who he has on staff and the kind of entitlement they seem to assume with the job. Definitely a bar for a younger pretentious age bracket in that sense.

Mate, where do I start? I walked into this joint and the first thing I noticed was all the sexy bar staff!! I'm not gonna lie I had a rager that night (in both meanings of the term!!!). If you wanna kick back and relax, or take off your shoes and grind against some sweet booty you'll find me staring at the bar staff from afar. Not to mention they make one of the best espresso martinis that I've ever wrapped my lips around since I was running amok in the clubs of Berlin in 1997.

This place is a dark dingy and un-inviting place, hard to find, poor service and somewhat grubby in appearance. It's a place waiting for an accident, as they have single steps in a couple of locations that are hard to see due to the poor lighting and no hazard warnings, I nearly feel which could have resulted in broken bones. I expected a rather nice place due to the photo's available online, but was horrified on arrival. So definitely, won't be going there again!

Stank pretty bad in there for Friday night drinks.. initially some of us wondered if it was someone in our party, but we soon realised there were two dogs in the venue... we ended up leaving because of the stink. Love dogs but do people really need to bring their dog to a bar on a Friday night ?? Imagine if we all did that.. and Monty’s, you’re going for a chilled and easy going atmosphere, cool but your dog policy needs a rethink...

Nice bar in north fitzroy close to Edinburough gardens. It was raining heavily the afternoon i was here, having a few drinks for a friends birthday, so the outside area was soaking except for a few of the tables that had umbrellas. The smooth electro/jungel music kept everyone feeling cool. Inside it was cosy. It got crowded very quickly though as it was getting dark. And drink prices were on the high side. Very relaxed atmosphere.

Some of the staff here are lovely - & I feel noticed as a customer and humoured / but tonight I found some of the staff a bit rude- - I ordered a glass of rosé I said could 'we" pay for my rosé after my date arrives and the staff member said no you have pay now - house rules And he charged me $11.50 for a glass of rose ! During a $5 happy hour Very expensive ☹️

The venue is lovely but the customer service is lacking. The bartender looked miserable and I dreaded having to come inside to order because every interaction was awful. Maybe he was just having a bad day which I totally understand but it’s just not on to treat customers like that.

New to the area and came here on a whim. The vibe was nice and chill. The drinks menu was short and sweet but the standout of my night was the service. Tom and Amelia behind the bar were so accomodative with what I was after. They made it feel like home. Their service was incredible. I’ll be back for sure.

Disappointing. Music... much too loud to talk and hear anyone. Service.... slow. Very slow. Apparently cleaning glasses is more important than customer service. Guy with the long hair.... useless. Absolutely unless. Is this a bar for dogs?

I love this venue, the drinks are flowing and the bartenders are really attractive and sweet. Joe treated me and my partner so well for our anniversary drinks. He is so lovely.

Nice little bar that has everything you may need. The staff were nice and the beers were flowing. The outlay of the bar contains a few sudden drops that should probably be lit or something because you're gonna trip.

Went here for the first time on Saturday night. Cool vibe, interesting tunes, staff were nice and drinks were lovely. Would love to go back for some drinks and pizza from next door.

Comfortable, well stocked bar which attracts a younger hipster crowd. You can order a pizza which will be delivered to your table by the wood fired pizza place next door. Great combo with a craft beer or wine!

If you like being consciously ignored, waiting over 15 minutes for a humble beer and having snooty hipster look down their noses at you, this is the place for you. Terrible service and terrible experience.

I must say I really love this place after one visit. It has a fantastic outdoor area out the back and has knowledgeable bar staff who know how to mix and serve a drink catered to your specific taste.

Nice terrasse in the back. Had a pint for 10$ and got to enjoy a sunny, comfortable terrasse with good music. Bartender was chill too. Would recommend, like someone recommended this place to me.

The decor is nice but the gin and tonic was weak and flat and the lime in it was slimy and old. I didn’t think it was possible for a gin and tonic to be bad but there you go.

Cute bar with nice cocktails, but the service was very slow (the bar tender kept talking to friends sitting at the bar while heaps of people were waiting to be served?)

The man in Kangol bucket hat and toothpick made me the best dirty martini I’ve ever had. I also had some olives, they tasted pretty good.

Relaxing atmosphere, could comfortably stay there all day. Super friendly staff, would highly recommend for a chilled Sunday sesh.
