"This is the best example of a living time capsule in the area, if not all of Melbourne"
"I grew up skipping school and spending my time here (2004) it was very quiet then, I visited it twice this year(2023) and it is still the same minus the loss of the supermarket"
"I am a big fan of shopping centres"
"I've visited here a couple times, I find it absolutely fascinating and I hope it never gets torn down or modernised"
"80-90 percent of the stores are closed and abandoned but this place is an amazing shortcut for several walks through Mooroolbark"
This is the best example of a living time capsule in the area, if not all of Melbourne. Has never been updated since opening in the 80s and it shows. Hardly any shops open. Only active stores now are a antiques store, a Bendigo Bank, a massage parlour, tv repair shop, Asian grocery and a community run space offering food, dvd’s and occasional activities. Thanks to the greedy landlord who owns the Coles building across the road as well as least one store in this centre, effectively blocking any effort to redevelop this centre, the development and improvement of Mooroolbark will forever be stifled
I grew up skipping school and spending my time here (2004) it was very quiet then, I visited it twice this year(2023) and it is still the same minus the loss of the supermarket. I hope this place only gets the bare renovations as it is a staple of mooroolbarks history with everything being modernized it's great to have a example of history I would hate it to turn into every other mall we see today.
I am a big fan of shopping centres. Even abandoned ones like Mooroolbark Terrace. All it needs a bit of renovating, some anchor stores, a marketing campaign to increase public awareness as well as a bit of tender loving care and it would become like winning the lottery every week for a month. Mooroolbark Terrace could be the most popular shopping destination in Mooroolbark
I've visited here a couple times, I find it absolutely fascinating and I hope it never gets torn down or modernised. Honestly sad to see it in such a poor state but it's an incredible time capsule. Absolutely rubbish if you want to go shopping, but an absolute gem for people who love dead malls and old building design
80-90 percent of the stores are closed and abandoned but this place is an amazing shortcut for several walks through Mooroolbark. Place is generally clean despite its status. Doesn’t cause any problems or bring attention to itself.
This place is cold and very dead to foot traffic, with a lot of empty shop fronts. It either needs to be demolished or the owner should look into getting an ALDI or a Woolworths in there.
Not much remains open in this shopping centre, but visiting it is like stepping back in time. Perhaps 40 years ago it was the bustling shopping centre for the area. Sad
Can I rent that little shop in the middle it will be one of the best coffee and i been all over the world i no what good coffee is my Gmail is [email protected]
Lots of open shops! There's really not a whole lot that you can't do here. Favourite hang out place, although it might be a crack den.
Well what can I say, this centre is almost closed, not sure if it will be reserected. At this point in time probably give it a miss
Went to see Brett at the jewellers to get a watch battery replaced as a matter of urgency It was done Covid safely and quickly
I would classify this as the "sad mall". Lots of shops closed, or you need to knock to come in. Has a weird vibe to the place
Council need to upgrade this whole site, huge area no action, suggest high rise with lower level shopping arcade
Looks deserted and its a shame because of its location. Years since any sort of renovation from the owner.
If you think of the old Slim Dusty song Pub with no beer, well this is Shopping Centre with no shops
Ghost town. Spooky The Bendigo bank is accessed from the front, to the left of the main building.
Very quiet. Eerie at times. There's lots of interesting stuff tucked away in there though.
Love it there . Beautiful things at a good price . Lovely staff. Cindy is just lovely .
Antique replica shop. Fantastic service, great knowledge and lovely staff. …
A bit spooky in there. I only went for the excellent jeweller in there.
We desperately need a new shopping center instead of terrace
Dark place... but clothing shop first expressions was great!
Waste of a resource been run down for far to long now.
If you're looking for a one stop shop look no further
Really run down. Practically no shops left. Terrible.
Needs ripping down, almost empty, unkept dump.
I went here for help with my electronic items
Very good at his craft and very reasonable
A slowly dying shopping centre.
