This is an interesting myth, but there is no spring, it is just an old drain pipe. There is no spring, the water has no taste, negligible mineral content and the pipe and ditch are simply one of the heads of Ythan Creek that was diverted underground when the car park was enlarged in the summer of 1932-33. The location is actually only a few metres downhill from the septic tank of a demolished and long forgotten toilet block. Of course the legend of the Donna Buang Spring is well entrenched, so people will continue to visit the Ten Mile car park and fill bottles to take back to the city in spite of the less romantic reality.
This isn't a spring at all. The water comes from a pipe installed in 1933 to divert a drain so the car park could be enlarged and a septic tank could be installed. I hate to temper the romantic idea of a "natural spring" with some facts, although I doubt this will stop many people believing it's a spring anyway. But the water is fine to drink as they stopped using the adjacent septic tank nearly 50 years ago.
The water is cold and tastes fresh just like a cool bottled water. The area where it's at is really beautiful. My camera didn't do it justice. You'll be mesmerised when you see the place for real. The background of tall trees in the rainforest and the wide clear area is like a scene from a fairy tale. There is ground fog in the area making it look and feel cold and dreamy like.

Good drive to the top with constant flowing spring water, bring a few bottles & take some home-yes it is free & allowed. Then down to the bottom at Warbirton river for a bbq & lots of trails to walk off that food
I used to love getting water from here until I found a small mosquitoes worm in the water. Also it's not really safe place to be because young people come here to drift.
Probably the best cool refreshing spring water in Victoria. People regularly come here with as many bottles as they can carry and fill up.
Too many stinken hippies washing them selves at the spring making other people wait for a turn to fill a bottle of water.
The best natural spring water! I went there a month ago and it was closed to get water. Has anyone been there recently?
The family loved the experience! How can you give it less than 5 star!! It is fresh natural water!
Free water! Not too sure about the purity, but many people flock here to gather a month's supply.
I fell in love with this place.i will certainly visit the natural spring water place more often.
