When a loved ones dies, you’re undeniably heartbroken. But inevitably you have to face planning their funeral arrangements whilst you’re still grieving, a situation that can be daunting and overwhelming if you’ve never had to go through it before - where do you even start? We honestly had no idea, having only been told by the hospital social worker to “find a funeral director.” So we researched several different funeral providers, trying to get an idea of what tasks they commonly complete, approximate prices etc. In our research we came across Nepean Valley Funerals comprehensive website, we rang the number on the website to get some further information and spoke to Jim for over 30mins. Jim was contactable for any questions/concerns, and as part of his affordable services placed us in contact with his trusted, high quality but reasonably priced third party suppliers - notably celebrant Danni Marchant who did a wonderful job throughout the service, and created memorable Order of Service booklets and a funeral service photo tribute, as well as Colleen at Untamed Flowers in St Mary’s who provided beautiful casket and burial committal flowers. We received several compliments on the service from attendees, which truly honoured the unforgettable patriarch of our family. Jim even rang a few days after the funeral service to check-in on how we were coping after the funeral, particularly as the loss of our loved one was sudden and unexpected. When he received the death certificate he arranged for it to be express posted out ASAP, and included certified copies so we could start the process of notifying various institutions about our loved ones death. Our family appreciated all the help we received, and would definitely recommend Jim and his team to anyone going through the process of laying someone they love to rest.

Funeral planning is painful at best, making sure that you accommodate and include everyone. I also had to transfer my brother in-law who passed from Wollongong hospital to Sydney for burial. Nepean Valley Funerals helped with absolutely everything. Flowers, transport, death certificates, storage for an extended period of my brother in-law, so we could get all the family together. We had a themed funeral " NRL Rabbitohs". Nepean Valley Funerals set all this up and matched us with the perfect Celebrant, he took the time to sit with family to get to know us and about Steve who had passed. I have been to a few funerals and this funeral was amazing, it was perfect. We had so many people come to us and say that it was the best funeral they had seen and heard. For what we received from Nepean Funerals you would have thought the cost would be extreme, it wasn't it was fair and reasonably priced. Jim and Janet were amazing to deal with during what was an extremely difficult time. Nothing was to much trouble and they went out of their way to ensure our funeral requests were met. We had no idea where to start when our dad suddenly passed. After the recent passing of my mum, a friend recommended me to Nepean Valley Funerals, as I wanted to do something different, and have the service and wake on the Nepean Belle. My wife and I were in a very difficult situation, with us being told my mother-in-law would only have days or weeks left to fight her battle with breast cancer. Nothing was too hard for Jim and his team even to the point of cutting his own Sunday afternoon down time short with his family to give our family one last chance to be with Mum. For me personally it felt like family looking after family.
