Embarked on two visits to this spot, daring to dive into the realms of a white chocolate rose mocha and a classic cappuccino. The brews, commendable in their own right, yet the delicate rose essence found itself eclipsed by the dominating chocolate symphony. A perplexing journey for the taste buds – one struggles to decipher the anticipated floral notes amid the cocoa cascade. Service, a silver lining in this caffeinated saga, albeit with the caveat of a patient wait, orchestrated by a dynamic duo manning the establishment. The tantalizing array of uneaten delights beckons, a temptation left unexplored on my culinary escapades. The interior, a design marvel, serves as a visual feast. The artisans behind the counter, though few in number, exude kindness – a redeeming quality in the face of potential caffeinated chaos. Surprisingly gentle on the wallet, making it an economical indulgence in the world of artisanal brews and tempting treats. An uncharted gastronomic territory awaits those willing to delve into the culinary wonders this establishment has to offer.

We were thirsty for a good cup of coffee while at Art in the Pearl this weekend. We found this inviting place on google map and were very pleased with their coffee! The barista was friendly yet focused on preparing our coffee. The pastries were very enticing but we resisted; i. e., until today, 24 hours later! My husband and I returned for their coffee but today we couldn’t resist their pastries! I had their lox and cucumber sandwich—-fantastic! My husband enjoyed their blueberry muffin. It looked quite delicious, and he agreed it was! The attractive young lady waiting on customers today was a great compliment to their barista pro! This place is TUCKED away at the top of a short stairway. If you weren’t intentionally looking for it u might pass it up. Don’t miss it!

Great small cafe. Pastries here are so good. They are made fresh daily, even the dough is made in their bakery. I see people stocking up all the time. One time I heard a man saying he hadn’t had dishes like this since he left home. Not sure where he was from, but he seemed to find the pastries so special. They have both sweet and savory pastries and a macaron bar. The macaron bar used to be on a different level from the main cafe, but now it’s all in one place. Entrance is to the left and up a few steps just after entering the main building’s front entrance. Seating is limited, but I’ve never been without a seat. Seems like most people get their order to go, but there are always a few people chilling and enjoying their treats. Space and atmosphere is clean, cool, and well designed. There are also magazines for reading.
Wow! Extraordinary coffee and croissants. Everywhere I travel I look for croissants and cappuccino, with an emphasis on croissants. Even in France it’s difficult to find a croissant that’s really not just a crescent roll. My croissant had a crisp outside, almost shattering when bit into. Nice buttery interior. I was very happy. Cappuccino was excellent, exquisite foam and great art. Topping it all off my order was on china not paper. Oh, the staff was friendly and very helpful. They were engaged and clearly enthusiastic about their products. Came back. Against my better judgment I ordered a lavender honey latte. I’m glad I did. Subtle lavender and honey sweetness. It was a work of culinary art.
Edit since I couldn't find the info on their website: the Macaron bar is Fri to Sun 9-5pm. Came here because my wife wanted macaroons. Cozy shop with good lighting and some great treats. Tried the hazelnut croissant, chocolate walnut cookie, mini canales, and of course macaroons. Canales were soft and chewy, with slight caramel taste. I wasn't a fan but my wife liked them. The chocolate walnut cookie was pretty good, but the walnut flavor did overwhelm the chocolate taste. The macaroons were awesome, we tried strawberry champagne and white chocolate. The hazelnut croissant was amazing, rich buttery flavor with chocolate and hazelnut overtones.
This place smells so amazing, I walk past it every morning on my way to work and the aroma just makes my day.... had my eye on it for a long time and finally went in there today. The treats are so amazing, rows of croissants, scones, muffins and macarons. Everything is delicious, with unique flavours (the rose croissant looked so yum). I tried the lemon, poppyseed scone. Yummy tangy creamy goodness. The servers are rly nice.. artsy vibes all around. Everyone must go here.. I wonder why they aren’t as hyped up as some other bakeries in the pearl. I only wish they had some vegetarian options in savory items.
Was in town for work and kept walking by this place and could smell their bakery from the street so I had to stop in. I got the ham and cheese croissant, rose pistachio croissant, and an iced coffee. The croissants were amazing! The ham and cheese was nice and warm and perfectly seasoned, and I saved the other one for later. The iced coffee was really good too. This place is a necessary stop if you’re staying in the area.

I had an amazing time at Nuvrei bakery! The croissants were beyond delicious, with a perfect balance of flakiness and buttery goodness. The mocha was a delightful companion, rich and satisfying. What stood out even more was the exceptional customer service – Waylon and Dylan made the visit truly enjoyable. Thank you, Nuvrei bakery, for a fantastic experience!

Things here are presented elegantly. With the lights on, they look really delicious and charming. The cafe is also cute and beautiful. In terms of flavor, rose croissant is too sweet, the flavor of cardamom is too strong and I can’t taste any rosy or butter flavor and aroma. Danish is much butter, it’s bread part is crispy and filling is yummy. Canele is good just a little too sweet. The most disappointing thing is macaron. They look so nice and unique, but taste all most the same. Overall the atmosphere is 5+, the flavor is 3.
This place is a hidden gem!! Went on a search for fresh almond croissant on a Sunday morning and found it. I guess the kitchen/bakery section is the lower ground level and the ground level is the cafe and sitting area. It is a tiny place and clean one too! Had chocolate almond croissant as they were out of almond croissant. Yummy! Could not resist seeing the MAC bar and got a couple macaroons. Recommended this place when you are strolling downtown PDX on a weekend. Ambience - 5/5 Coffee - 4.5/5 Croissants - 5/5
Discovered this place when I lived in Portland in 2010, and stoked to see it's still going! Their flourless chocolate cookies are so good that I've stuffed my backpack with their mix on prior trips to PDX, so I could share them with friends back home. Dillon was positively delightful, in spite of the shop being very busy. The handmade raspberry whipped cream put a touch of magic into my mocha. Highly recommend.

I came here around noon on a Sunday and their selection of pastries was very slim. This was disappointing because it was my main reasoning for visiting. I settled for a lemon poppyseed scone. It was tasty where there was icing otherwise the scone itself had no flavor. I also ordered their white mocha rose latte. The flavoring sounded so promising, however, I didn’t taste the mocha or the rose. The latte tasted very bland. The shop is pretty and that’s about the only good thing I can say.
My only concern is the atmosphere of this place, not even for the customers but for the baristas. but other than that.. I really really think they pull espresso shots better... than Coava??? seriously! try for yourself, this place is amazing and the coffee is an amazing experience. Please tip your baristas !! they put so much love in these cups.

The best baked treats in The Pearl ☕️ — the location is hidden and easy to miss if waking by. Thanks to Google Maps... not so hidden. Located at NW 10th and NW Flounders. Delicious baked items... croissants, berry danish. All are relatively light, not oily, baked fresh, quality ingredients, and not overly sweet. If I have only one cheat day a week — Nuvrei is one I look forward to. Was this review helpful? If yes, please like
A cozy cafe serving some delicious croissants and other French patisserie. My sesame croissant was excellent. Seating is limited but it wasn’t a problem as it was early morning. It was bit hard to find the place. Will definitely return once more before I leave Portland.

To be honest, Vanila Canele was great I love it, but barista there was not friendly, and the coffee was awful. I understand that they are known for pastries. But White Chocolate Rose was too sour, as well as Americano. I am a Barista for 3 years, but I cannot imagine making this sour coffee, even Mocha.

Tucked away in the Pearl district I found this bakery because I asked a former Parisian what her choice was best bakery was in the city. Her recommendation did not disappoint. The place is tiny but their selection of croissants and other pastries is large and the ones we had were really delicious. I especially recommend the matcha croissant because you don't really find that kind of croissant elsewhere and it was pretty good.
I came here to try the croissant that everyone is taking about. Got there around 10 and got the last chocolate croissant, so get there earlier if that's what you want. I had a chocolate and a regular croissant. The regular was not as buttery as other croissant I've had but I still like it. The chocolate croissant is not sweet at all which suites my taste. If you like your chocolate bitter then this is for you.
It was late in the day, so I didn't have many options. But boy I was lucky as I wouldn't have ordered the rose croissant otherwise. These are plain croissants but they have a subtle and good taste of roses!

I don’t like the attitude and they violated the health code for a mistake that they did. It was like the guy didn’t want to talk to me at all, I’m not sure if he didn’t like us or was so tired to talk. I will not go to this place again and I don’t recommend this place!

Had the Chai, it was not the best, missing flavour and spice. Felt like I was drinking sweet steam milk with a little bit of spices. Definitively need more kick to it. HOWEVER, the Anise gibassier was DIVINE! Omg have to try it. The texture and the quantity of sweet was on pointe. The anise flavour was there and wasn’t overpowering. Great concept and well balanced patisserie
Great spot for croissants and macarons. The croissants are the best in the city - perfectly flaky with a soft and open crumb inside. Not sure if they do dine in (not many chairs/stools around) but great spot for grabbing coffee on the go. Can’t wait to try their pistachio and everything croissants!

the croissant tasted really differently the inside is softer and more buttery i even feel like brioche chocolate croissant was flaky outside and a bit of toasty smell which i loved really much the staff recommended me the rose croissant and it’s definitely delicious covered by earl grey icing the bread added a hit of rose flavor which is really impressing
I stopped by to get a cappuccino and chocolate croissant. The place is really pretty and the baristas were nice. As for the chocolate croissant it was average. I was hoping for super light and flaky, but it was still ok. There was a mini canelé served with my cappuccino. That was a nice touch and it was tasty. I’ll have to return to try the other goods.
Overall good, but not worth the price. Tiny cafe with little seating. Had a good almond and chocolate croissant and oat milk latte. $1.85 upcharge for oat milk is crazy though. New York prices for not New York quality.

Walking in here was such a luxurious pastry experience. The cafe is small with very limited seating, but if you're able to get there at a quiet time it's absolutely a lovely place to wind down for a bit with probably the best quality pastry I've ever had in the PNW.

I rarely find canele in the wild, so when I randomly stumbled into Nuvrei, I was so happy to see that they had a vanilla rum canele offering. They were delicious, and so was the iced matcha I got. Seating is a little limited, so it’s more of a grab and go spot.

Really good croissants and coffee. The place is a little hard to find. We crossed by it twice and still couldn't see it. They should put up a bigger sign outside. The place is small -- just 2 or 3 small tables and some bar seating. But I would happily pick up again!

Have been going to various bakeries and boulangeries in Portland for the past two years. This has been the best so far and the one I most frequently return to. From the traditional chocolate croissant to the more frills rose croissant or chocolate almond the pastry here is delicious.
I am not local but I love coming here. This is my first place to visit when I am in Portland. Their croissants, pastries and coffee are delicious. They only let one person or one group from the same household in the shop at a time due to Covid-19. Try their latte and croissants!
Great little bakery. I appreciate that they have gluten-free options. Mocha and latte were really good. The staff were really friendly. The seats were really comfortable and the little table was enough for the 2 of us.

Really nice pastries. A bit on the sweet side and a bit small for the price IMO. I had the seasonal peach brioche and it was really delicious but small. Ordered passion fruit lemonade and it was just ok. The rest im bringing home to the fam so I haven't tasted it yet.
It’s a nice French caffe with delicious oat milk matcha latte & traditional croissant. We enjoyed also rosé croissant and brownie with Mocha ❤️

The rose croissant is the best thing I have ever had. The staff is incredible, the bakes are amazing. Get there early or call ahead if you think you won’t be able to make it until late morning. They run out of specialty croissants for a good reason.
The food and pastries are delicious! They also have excellent tea. The employees are very helpful and it is diverse. They welcome all people with a smile. You will not be disappointed. Due to COVID19 it is a line for social distancing.
These are the best pastries I’ve found in town. Very good but honestly, pricey and left me wanting the basics a bit after I got over the initial excitement. Very sweet, very rich treat, so be prepared for that!
The best croissants in Portland are doing here, absolutely incredible no matter what you choose. I recommend rose if you have an adventurous palate, and their coffees pairs incredibly with any pastry.
Best croissants I’ve ever eaten, and the staff was super nice, but the coffee was really bitter and so hot it burned my tongue. Get coffee elsewhere and come back here for the delicious bakery items!
Not a lot of seating but the service is excellent, the pastries are delicious and the coffee solid. Worth a visit but can’t sit down.
