First of all, you've gotta' go just to meet the Parking Guy and watch him work his magic. (You'll see for yourself.) Second, take a trip back in time to when locals owned, and ran, hardware stores....I love this place because it's a gazillion cool items in an old-style building, with plenty of long-time staff to guide you. Third, very extensive bathroom, paint and period stuff to go on, and in, your full-of-history home in the area. Just don't forget to watch the Parking Guy at work. Reminds me of the lot guys in the crowded sections of Rome or Paris. Excellent, has me smiling every time.

It took more than a month’s for my “supposed-to-be in less than two weeks” door hardware to arrive, if it’s another shop, I would go straight to give one star, however throughout the whole process, I am really impressed by the staffs there, when they said they would give me a call back regarding my order updates, and they actually did. It may not sound much, but from a customer’s aspect, I really appreciate that, especially compared to a lot business nowadays only knows how to take ur money while doing bare minimum. I will definitely be a return customer for any of my future hardwares.

This is the best hardware store I have ever visited. everything you need is here and more. Great quality materials and tools and everything you need for the garden, I could go on. It is surprisingly deceptive how large this place is considering its so close to the city. Everyone who works here is super helpful and lovely. I wish I lived close by so that I can give them all my business. Pop in sometime, just to have a look, you won't be disappointed. Lots of places for kids to investigate too, even they will have a good time here.

My review below was from 2 yrs ago. I wanted to add that I can source some items online but I continue to support Paddo Hardware because they are local, and they do have those hard to find items. The staff are super helpful, reliable, knowledgeable and efficient unlike some stores where staff can just ring up your purchase. Paddo Hardware staff know their stuff. Love it! The staff are super helpful and they have a great range of nicer hardware. Also tonnes of those things you desperately need but can't find anywhere else...

Dimly lit, dusty and a maze of a floor layout. This place is like the Aladdin's cave of hardware. I'm almost certain that this place has a better range than bunnings. Definitely stop at the front counter and ask for what you need though. You could spend an hour browsing fruitlessly only to find that the item you want is inexplicably stored in a secret drawer on the back of a normally unstaffed counter at the far end of the back aisle. That said, whatever you need, try this place if you can't find it anywhere else.

Amazing store, with very knowledgeable staff who are extremely patient, and highly customer focused. They have an extensive range of products both heritage and modern, I was after heritage hardware for french doors, and I had trouble deciding - so many choices and great prices! This store is jammed packed with great things, so make sure you have a good look around - you will probably find more than you originally set out for. A lovely gentleman helps direct traffic, in and out of the carpark area. A nice touch!

I ordered some fancy brass GPOs and switches online. I left it 2 weeks, I thought aggh it’s probably delayed as are a lot of shipments in these times. I called this morning and Max got back to me. There had been a glitch in their online platform, fixed now, one of the staff who lives near here will drop over on the way home! Great customer service, great range of products and prices. I also support Warwick at Mitre 10 Kenmore who often recommends Paddington Hardware.

Fantastic service. They went above and beyond to locate exactly what I wanted, get samples to test and ensure parts were compatible, then discounted when they discovered their supplier had made a mistake in the specs. Absolutely first class service all the way. The store is well stocked and beautifully laid out and there are lots of helpful staff members hovering to make sure customers are never left without assistance. But I could cheerfully browse there for hours.

My wife and I went there yesterday to buy hardware for a new door (recommended by a door supplier). WOW!!! Amazing selection of handles, hinges, door stoppers…, well priced and with a good old school customer service. The person who looked after us was so patient and knowledgeable, we were so impressed. Bunnings have lost two customers and it feels good to support your local shop. Thanks again for the amazing customer service!!!!

Friendly helpful staff that go out of their way to assist you. Huge range of hardware and paint at very competitive prices. Very handy location central to West End, South Brisbane, Paddington, Red Hill etc. Key cutting, quality timber (that didn't have leaves growing on it the day before like some big box competitors) and quality merchandise. Paint matching is 1st rate. Prices are very competitive with you know who.

I love Paddo Hardware. The staff knows their stuff. Product variety is amazing. The number of items belies the space that appears available. Service is top notch. They deliver. I'd rather go to Paddo than to the mall, always a new item to discover and if one listens carefully, there is advice..good advice..in every department. Very unpleasant experience! Have shopped in the store for years to support the local business! I will never shop again in this store! The lady at the counter was very stubbornly unhelpful.For a return of item worth $18 at the same time I was about to purchase $ 220 faucet.She didn’t care! You will get better treatment in Bunnings ! Gone is the local friendly costumer service, sadly!

Awesome hardware with everything you would need. The range of door and window hardware is the best in Brisbane and they carry most stuff in stock. The staff are always ready to help us weekend tradesmen, answering my sometimes silly questions without any eye rolling at all. Highly recommended. Parking is always a bit of a challenge but that is just Paddington anywhere.

Ordered gates from Disher's Fencing through Michael at Paddington Hardware and found the process to be very uncomplicated. Was able to look through a catalogue and order the gates needed. Gates were ordered and delivered with no issue at all. Was actually a lot easier than trying to deal with Disher's directly!!! Thanks Michael for an uncomplicated experience!

If you have a queenslander house this place has kots of colonial hardware,items you can't get from big hardware stores,and most other places.i went there to get windo latches for our queenslander,lots to choose from.staff are friendly and helpful and not too far from home.very good if you are maintaining an older style house and keeping it original.

Shopped here to find some picture hanging hardware. Left with so much more and all because they have a great range of products and very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Really went out of their way to help even on a busy Saturday when I had loads of amateur questions. Even my partner who hates hardware stores liked it. Highly recommended.

Support your local hardware store! This family business is very kind. Huge range of items. They have the odd range of heritage fittings for houses that cannot be found elsewhere. Prices sometimes are higher, but on most are lower than Bunnings. Staff know there stuff more than Bunnings. Very knowledgeable.

Paddington Hardware is the best for friendly service, personalised advice if needed, wide range of hardware and more. Have been a customer since 1984. And parking lot is skillfully managed by staff too; staff will help carry items to your vehicle too. Old fashioned custom service, quality, and fair prices.

A gem in the rough, cheaper than bunnings on most of their range and far more pleasant. John is a champion, knows my business well and assists to the fullest. 12 year customer here. I wish they were open longer hours on the weekends, but I can deal with that for the great service given.

Friendly staff and helpful. A bit small and oddly organised, but it has three common items I was looking for. A bit more expensive than other places. Small carpark which makes it a bit tricky to get in and out, but they have someone out the front helping to direct cars.

Always sooo helpful!!! Staff are very knowledgeable and always soo helpful - giving tips and advice on some DIY projects I have done. They always seem to have what I need. A convenient place! Really glad to see it hasn't been pushed out by the bigger companies!

Best hardware shop for great service and for more variety items of better quality than THE big chain store. I've also found standard items (eg builders plastic) cheaper. If we don't all support Paddo Hardware it will disappear like the other independents.

What a great find. Somehow Bunnings doesn't have what I need half the time, but this place does. And it is a 2 min drive instead of 15. All staff are friendly however some are more knowledgeable than others, So don't be afraid to ask for a second opinion.

Great service and supply plants could be slightly less expensive but overall my favourite local hardware and I believe it's Tom who is always great with helping out loading supplies or tips and tricks for the garden great experience and so friendly ☺️

What a gem this place is! Super friendly and competent staff and a great variety of beautiful things won’t find anywhere else. Been after hinges and handles for an old kitchen cabinet I’m restoring and they had it all. Brilliant!

I keep coming back here and there is very few things that I've needed and they don't have. The staff are helpful but not annoying and people who go to the big chains to save money will be surprised by how competitive they are.

Lots to discover here. They seem to have items that are more useful for the adventurous and the building has character. Tight isles and a sense of discovery. You will find things here that you won't at stores like burnings

Super helpful staff, and sooooooo much stuff hidden in that Alladin's Cave!! A little bit pricey on some things, but mostly very reasonable. And did I mention the staff are really top notch and know their stuff.

Paddington Hardware is like the Tardis! Much bigger than it seems from the outside. What I always find the best though, is how knowledgeable the staff are in helping you to find the right product for the job.

Fantastic hardware for character home renovations, Door fittings, light switches from yesteryear made in perfect reproduction. Staff are informative older if not a bit special but very helpful.
