Mighty UNhelpful and rude. We have had 2 bad experiences in the past week. 1) We did a click and collect for some fire wood that we needed for that night. Hubby rocked up at 5:01pm and doors were closed and phones rang out. The closing time in the email confirmation and on the website still said 6:30pm and hadn't been updated to reflect an earlier closing time. The guy he spoke to the next day was really arrogant and made it seem like it was common knowledge and we should have known. 2) Today i sent my husband for a click and collect for something different and this time he got lectured on how it states clearly in the email that only the person making the order can pick it up. When my husband explained that neither email stated this he insisted it did. Hubby went to show him the emails and he didn't want a bar of it. Guess he likes making up rules and doesn't like being wrong. Both emails state "Please bring photo ID for easy identification confirmation." I would have thought sharing the same surname and same address and providing them a confirmation order number would have been enough. Wont be giving you guys anymore of our money or time. Super rude and arrogant.

Unlike some of the bigger chain hardware stores (you know who) this store differentiates itself in one very obvious and spectacular way. With the large chain store you can walk their very large stores looking for someone to assist you. At the Peakhurst Mitre 10 you are greeted immediately by an assistant asking you how they can help you. A very pleasant surprise is that everyone in the store seems to know everything about the store. Can I say that is becoming an uncommon trait, where the norm with a lot of stores, you have to talk to 2 or 3 people to get the info you need. So their point of difference is definitely service. It would be nice if more businesses focused on service like this one does. Is it a super jumbo mega store? No. Is the experience far superior. Yes. Unless you are looking for 12 different brands and the service is not important, give the warm and welcoming folks at Mitre 10 Peakhurst a try.

After 8 years of loyally visiting this place (even though the major competition is cheaper) today we have had an experience that means we will never go there again. My husband drove there especially to get a tin of paint we needed and arrived 40min before closing time to be told "NO, WE ARE CLOSING SOON, we won't be mixing paint anymore today!" The assistant was RUDE and we drove 30minutes wasting our precious petrol and time, for NOTHING. Mitre 10 is already very overpriced with mainly poor quality Chinese made stock but we kept going there to support local staff who were employees there. Well, this guy has now ruined it for his whole team, because we won't be going back and I'll tell everyone who will listen not to go there either!!!

I arrived 30 minutes before closing time. It had taken me 35 minutes to drive there. I was greeted straight away and I had asked about one product although I knew I wanted to browse since I had driven all that way. This guy kept telling me in different ways they did not stock the item I wanted and I said I wanted to have a look anyways since I drove all this way. I did not tell him I wanted to browse as well but I shouldn't have to just because they want to close early. There were 5 staff members not doing anything yet I was being hurried out of the door when I barely looked. He left me alone because I said I wanted to look. I also wanted to cut a key but did not want to because of the way one staff member tried to turn me away.

Served by a very rude blonde lady with a slight accent today. No greeting or hello. I was asked if I owned some loyalty card. I said no. She didn't bother to tell me about the card nor offer one. She told me the price. I inserted my card to pay BY EFT WITH A PIN and waited. She handed the receipt over and I said I said I hadn't put in the PIN yet. Her response was its on credit. The machine does what you tell it too. I told her I hadn't selected anything. She said oh well it's on credit. She couldn't give a sh#$. Based on the arrogance of this woman and the final smirk with "thankyou" I wont shop here again. Try to support the local but no chance. I'll go the local bunnings.

Absolutely embarrassed for the workers here at Mitre 10 Peakhurst, although I have an exemption and all medical certificates not to wear a mask due to difficulty breathing and asthma I was forced into buying a mask to enter. I then bought a mask just so I can enter and the lady at the front counter spoke nonsense about me to other customers saying well I have to do this and do that to work. Another fella that works there was completely in denial on what the law is with exemptions and medical reasons forcing me to struggle breathing. Olga and the other fella will not see my face again in this store. I will purchase my products from other competitors in their industry…

I agree with Greg Smith. The staff are unfriendly and a few of them are not as professional as they should be in product knowledge. I was there recently and they were unsmiling, rude when blocking you, with no apology. I only go there because it is convenient, but prefer the service and professionalism of Bunnings anytime. One of the staff was even swearing the "F" word - you would not find this attitude in most business premises. I think that the staff have been there a long time and have become complacent, like they are untouchable!! Management, wake up and correct this before you start to lose customers.

  • rafael berroa

Going to the store for over 15years the manager at the time Gary approached me and greeted me with “great you’re wearing a mask mate but put it right over your nose “ his rude way of saying your nose isn’t covered enough. I wonder if Peter is Still his manger? He would be proud of the respect Gary shows his customers. Appreciate it’s tough times but if their staff can’t cope then they should really stay home and not make the situation more stressful for the community. Mitre 10 need to manage the mental health of their staff and make sure staff like Gary stay home

  • nemor nems1

Very unprofessional staff, because every store is owned individually, they claim that they dont have to obide by advertised prices or what's on offer in the catalogue. Will not take anyforms of by now pay later (afterpay humm etc) even though its advertised on their webpage and catalogues, thier excuse ? We are independent so we can choose what form of pay to accept. Needless to say bunnings and thier snags all the way. Tried to help out the local guy, but they seem to have a chip on thier shoulder

  • Lisa Pires

Have always gone to Bunnings and having moved to a new area tried this Mitre 10. The staff were very helpful and gave me great advice about everything I asked. What impressed me most was when my 2 year old threw a tantrum at the checkout they were so understanding and assisted me by coming from around the counter and scanning all my items quickly in my trolley and then helped me carry it all out to my car. Have never had this experience anywhere else - THANK YOU!

I can’t wait for Bunnings to drive these crooks out of business. Bought branded garden equipment. Stopped working after 10 minutes use. Bunnings would have exchanged no problem. These mugs washed their handsome and made me go to the agents for the brand. Another crook charged $50 to assess, kept it from 4 weeks and sthill had not assessed. GO TO BUNNINGS! YOUR CONSUMER RIGHTS ARE RESPECTED. THESE PEOPLE WIPE THEMSELVES WITH CONSUMER LAW.

  • Raj Basavaraj

Not happy. Very unfair management. Bought a pool chlorine (10kgs) - "didn't have a smell of chlorine" and it dirtied my pool with one scoop! Tried to return and got the ADVISE it couldn't be returned as it was opened! Now I have got 10 kilos of mud and dirt!! I guess poor management. See photo - happened as soon as I added the Mitre-10 Chlorine granules (1 scoop)

This place is old, but has what you need. The plants section seemed a bit packed with things and tad slippery, but rest of the shop is nice and tidy. One thing that really bothered me was that there is no toilet here. This isn't exactly a nice gesture on part is a mid sized store. Price is ok for the most part, but as good as Bunnings.

  • Meek Acumen

Staff attends to customers swiftly and offer assistance. Problem is that they keep hanging around you after they've answered your question and basically hover behind your shoulder until you make a choice and walk to the counter. Overall i enjoy shopping at this store, they have a wide variety and staff is mostly friendly and helpful.

  • Giovanni Olivieri

Not the largest hardware store but certainly makes excellent use of available space. Very comprehensive range of both tools and materials, and a lot closer than any of the larger hardware stores.. If you're indigenous to this propinquity, this place will save you around an hour of travel time getting to the nearest Bunnings..

  • Simon Chiang

A good suburban hardware store. Their range isn't as big as other larger hardware stores but I almost always find what I need here. The staff are also very helpful and knowledgeable and are probably the biggest selling point of this store, unlike some other larger hardware stores.

  • Steven Kratsas

A local Mitre 10 with a good selection of tools and equipment that is not so far off pricing from Bunnings. Staff are friendly and extremely knowledgeable and I never have to waste a great deal of time here to get what I need. Great for a quick in and out pick up of supplies

  • Herahene

My favorite store to shop at, the staff are so helpful if your a DIY or a Pro these guys are so awesome. I am a regular shopper here because I know I will get the help I need their customer service is the best and without fail they consistently deliver. Rock stars!

  • Romany Soliman

14/10/2016 I agree with Greg Smith 100% Staff standing there doing nothing and when they are asked to help they make you regret it. 17/10/2016 Again I thought I would give them another chance, a different person with the same stupid attitude. They are hopeless.

  • MMAFun

Amazing customer service and problem solving. There was a mistake with my online order as the item that I purchased did not have a battery or charger. Garry was helpful enough to fix my problem and liaise with their head office to fix my issue. Happy customer!

  • Dave Giddings

I have shopped peakhurst M10 for over 20 years. The staff are knowledgeable on products and can lead me to the right spot for dooicky I am Chasing. Much better service & their prices are competitive with the mob who reckon they will beat prices by 10%.

If you are looking for a hardware store with old fashioned service and friendly advice, this is your place. Who would have thought that you would get this treatment in a massive chain. Just shows that it's all about the people. Keep up the great work!

  • Sarah Jane Susac

Always fabulous customer service. A little more limited in products than Bunnings but would shop here first every time simply because when you go in and ask for help they actually help you and don't fob you off like Bunnings do. Massive difference.

  • Philip Berridge

I visit every week end Very Handy Store Prices are fair enough including bargains lets all use it to keep the old men employed ..... they certain to know what you need and it's a very handy local hardware store Don't use it we will lose it ! Philip

  • Patrick Hennessey

Today I was served by a really nice lady she must be weekend staff applied my discount card credit without even to be asked I think the ladies that normally work during the week could take a bit of notice how to treat customers... …

  • marwin elkojee

I ordered 26cc blower online they delivered spot on service. Great staff I tried to leave a review via the email but it never worked. So I leave the review here. They are much more helpful here than dummings. Remember Reschs Refreshes.

  • graham green

What is the point in letter-dropping magazines showing the wonderful bargains , only available between 8th and 29th September when a quick internet search shows the items are"out of stock" at all locations nearby? (Asking for a friend)

  • Mikialous Maximus

Not a huge place, thats obviouse but the staff there are very friendly, they actually go along with you through every detail and help you carry your stuff to the cashier even!!They're very fine with returns and money back is instant.
