The toys that contain soft plastic are over priced and inferior quality. The plastic breaks into small pieces immediately upon being chewed and is a chocking and intestine blockage risk. This product will not break down if stuck in the gut. This is a very dangerous product line. When I took two items back to exchange within 24hours I was told that Petbarn does not normally guarantee toys. Exchanged for a rope toy but then the plastic handle did the same thing so I cut it off. They need to source a superior quality product a these prices. The toys at the two dollar shop have lasted years without this problem.

This is one of only a few in my area with parking. Although I normally PT it, or order online, I'm recovering from being hit by a car. I'm in crutches and needed to get supplies in a a car. Unfortunately this location didn't have any of the products I needed. When I tried to order online they no longer offer delivery of one product I have had previously delivered. When I tried to get more info I was ignored by their online order service support. Eventually I found another company that could provide the services and products. So after being g a regular customer for a few years I've switched.

I always stop at Petbarn St Kilda.They have a good display of pet food and accessories.The staff are always friendly, attentive, knowledgeable & helpful. I appreciate the community feel. Lets not forget the incentives & discounts on offer when you shop regularly spending hard earned cash on our babies has come in handy. Always get a car park & I'll continue to shop here. Keep up the good work. ‍

We had a really bad experience on Sunday at 4.35pm. Went in to rinse our dog and buy dog food. We were confronted by the rudest manager I have ever experienced. Then on paying the girl at counter wasn’t better and charged us $10.00 over the price which we didn’t realise until we dot home. Disgusting service. We were customers who has been there at least twice a month. I will never return. The staff are usually wonderful. I have never seen this manager before. Thank goodness.

Very disappointed that at 6:01pm last night (on the eve of our latest lockdown) wasn't allowed to buy food for my dogs... As I pulled into the car park they were letting another customer out of the store, so wasn't as if they had packed up for the night. I knocked on the door & was just ignored. You lost a $100+ sale & 2 members... Won't be coming back in. PETSTOCK down Canterbury Rd are much more accommodating & community minded. Sad to post this :(

Apart from the great collection and facilities, I’d like to shout out to the staff. They are always respectful, helpful, available, perceptive, and never pushy. Last time I was there, my click and collect order couldn’t be located & was marked as picked up when I hadn’t picked it up. Even in a situation like this, they maintained professionalism, friendliness, and helpfulness and gave me the items I had ordered.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Store space is well organised, everything I need is easy to find. Litter, food, etc. - great selection. Easily returned an item that did not fit my pet. However, I could not find a couple of very important things (soft Elizabethan collars for kittens and small dogs; and post-surgery protective clothing) - if stock managers could get those in the future, that would be awesome!

Be careful as they overcharge products, and if you don't tell them in the moment, they start inventing excuses of why they can't return the money they wrongly took from you. Examples are, "we can't do it on store but our manager will call and make the refund" "sorry we can't do it on the phone, you must come to the store" "oh the person in charge of refunds is on vacation" so yea very unprofessional

There is on-site parking which is extremely convenient and the staff are very helpful, friendly and genuinely welcoming of the dogs and other pets which are brought in. My dogs (and others) are always offered a treat on their way out which means they love a visit here. The shop is well stocked with a great variety of food and other pet accessories such as toys, beds clothes etc

Drove around to numerous pet stores today trying to find dog jackets or clothing of any kind. Staff were friendly, greeted my dog, the clothes on sale were at very front of store. They explained as it was now spring their suppliers stop sending jackets etc. I appreciated them telling me this! So even though a bit too big I bought a jacket on sale for an awesome price.

My cat has had recent issues with his food and is being very picky. This would be a huge issue had it not been for the service at Petbarn St Kilda and their taste policy for exchanging or returning food. Of particular help were the assistant manager with black hair and the lady with blonde hair. Really appreciate your help and service, thank you.

Not the best place to go to for your pet . I'm a new pet owner with a puppy I asked a lot of questions about the thing that a first pet owner would do and I found them not helpful the staff could answer most of my questions there was know in point of any knowledge around what you should now and expect when you a first pet owner.

Had such a great experience, Leon served us at the register and was an absolute treat! Talked us through every option for worming and flea treatment for our kittens and helped us get the best deal. He was such a lovely guy, gave us some promotional cat treats as well! Would definitely make the drive out again just to see him xx

Absolutely nasty staff - my boyfriend and I went in looking for a carrier as we're about to adopt and the lady talked to us like we were complete idiots, as we said we hadn't fully decided on what we were looking for. Nasty manor of speaking, would not want to be served by her ever again. Will not return!

The service is hit and miss. Make sure you check the prices on the website as they are normally 20% cheaper. I was about to be charged $158.99 for a bag of dog food and online (petbarn website) it was $119.99. Please check the prices. I have had the issue everytime I have shopped here.

real mixed bag here. firstly, the phones never work so you can't call ahead to check if there's stock of the item you're seeking. the staff can be ok or nice, but also really rude. either ignore you, or patronising. i don't get it. i just wish there was a petstock in the neighbourhood.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Their store front might not be the biggest, but their product range is huge. We don't live in the area, but we went there because that's the only Petbarn that has what we needed. Downside, could be difficult to get in and out if you're driving there.

Today the customer service was excellent, I was informed about products that my needs and and made aware where different brands of the types where available, after the service today, I would be inclined to go to back to PetBarn even if items were cheaper elsewhere.

It's a likable shop, spacious, categorised as per pets, sub categories of toys, food etc. It's managed by helpful friendly team that's open minded. It's very well stocked with up to date branded stuff. Located in St Kilda, prime location, easy to find.

Staff are very friendly and courteous. I returned a damaged product and they were very apologetic, unlike other retailers who will often question you, making you feel at fault for the damage. So it was a very easy replacement process.

Way overpriced. Go to pet warehouse and save about 25% of your money and still get a great range and service. There are a few less of them around but I can't believe the money I have saved now in a short space of time by changing.
