Terrible. Manager has a medium size parrot isolated next to construction area exposing the bird to potential respiratory infections. We tried to find employee to tell them. They didn’t care. Called customer service. They didn’t care. Finally decided to purchase the bird before he gets sick. Manager wasn’t interested in selling it or providing the promotional discount offered by Petco Pay. Said the bird had been there since December and had no social skills and hadn’t sold. The bird is way over priced is why it’s not selling. It’s isolated next to construction plastic walled in by other displays which is why it isn’t developing social skills. She needed to make call to confirm the promotion offered and refused. Actually told us she had worked there for 6 years and never made a promotional offer call so she wasn’t going to now. This manager has lowered the bar on service in this store and should not be managing any location with live animals. Particularly birds. She was obviously aggravated at having to interact with customers. Told us they had no paper work on the bird but he was banded so there had to be paper work. She also told us it had no band. We are long time Petco customers and have never experienced this in one of the stores. Birds are prone to picking up respiratory infections. Construction dust can cause that. There was no attempt to move the bird as far away as possible or into area where he could interact with people except for the teenagers who came in to bang on the cage. No one could see that because the bird is behind displays. We never saw an employee until we went to the counter. Putting the bird next to a remodeling area in a store will likely make them sick. The bird needs rescued before it gets sick. We are hoping the store sees this before the bird gets sick

Although the process was VERY FAST, I personally am not concerned with that; I have more interest in the ability of the employees to interact with other human beings. Although I myself like animals more than people I still, as a person who works in retail, know it's necessary to be kind and respectful and welcoming to people who come into your store and just want to spend their money there. The person at the front register/counter was DELIGHTFUL. A+ for her. I apologize for not remembering her name. I understand not everyone has good social skills but when you work in a business like retail you need to get some or you need to pretend you have some. Or management should not let those who don't interact with the public. I WISH management understood this. I am definitely a customer who would drive out of my way to go to a place that has better service or at least have people who are more welcoming. I am glad that this store, which is actually closer to me than another, has this person working there. Hire more like her!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE..Made a set appointment to only arrive and the Cashier's tell me NO! They told me they couldn't groom my dog because they were over booked. Very rude and I felt discriminated against. If you look at the times on the website it clearly says not busy... Besides the point I made an appointment a day in advance,took time off work to drive across town to get turned down and told they were to busy! I've used Petco all the time only different location and I've never been put through what I went through today. My appointment was for 3:15pm and I go there earlier as well so there wouldn't be any issues. Now I have to find another location or might not even use Petco anymore due to the way I was treated ! Never again. Maria was one of the cashier's,but the schedule and time will definitely be on camera to prove what I'm reporting. The other cashier as well. No hiding from the camera and CUSTOMER'S ARE ALWAYS RIGHT!!!! The proof is in these pictures about the time. Thank you

Hailey is absolutely amazing! I shy away from taking my dog to any groomer but Hailey is the only exception. I trust her 100% with my dog, Harry. She always does a fantastic job on his haircut. I always express the vision I have in my mind for Harrys haircut and she nails it every single time. He also smells amazing for weeks straight. I always get compliments on his haircut because of the amazing work she does. I’ve notice huge improvements on his allergies because of regularly booking with her. She’s always open to new fun ideas. She’s very patient and gentle. She’s such a good person that it makes you so comfortable with leaving your dog with her. You just know they are in safe hands. Others consider the prices to be expensive but I know when I book with Hailey, I’m paying for quality and perfection which makes the price beyond worth it. If you’re thinking about who to book your dog with, I recommend Hailey 10000%. You will not be disappointed at all.

I go to Petco on SE Military at least once a week I have never had better customer service before but this last time I came in Matthew(Matt) was just as sweet as could be. He had a smile on his face through out our experience with him. I do have concerns every time I am at this location it seems like the workers have no help at all or short staff. Always long lines, need assistance with the aquatic area or other customers having to wait for assistance. Management is never out on floor to help employees or customers I believe management does play a big role in there own store. I believe this should be addressed to where a manager should help out instead of being in the back office. Thank you Matt for Great Customer Service

Honestly I don’t ever leave bad reviews. I have worked retail before and I know there’s always going to be a bad day resulting in bad service but this was beyond me. I walked around for 15 minutes looking for an employee to help me find what i was looking for. The first one I came across, I had asked if they worked there because their back was turned to me. They turn around and acknowledge me and then say nothing in return and turn back around. So I ask if they can help me and they responded “no”. Then I was like…. okay? So i went to another employee and she was extremely short and very rude. I won’t be coming back and honestly this was probably my worst experience in a retail store.

What I love about this store is the variety of pet supplies that not only do they offer, but are of high quality. I am so glad they finally started doing price matching! It helps me save & come back to spend even more! The staff have always been friendly when I do have an occasional question, so it’s nice to feel welcomed. I want to give Michael, the manager of he grooming salon a special shout out! He is so kind & patient with all animals. My pug hates getting her nails done, but he has built a relationship with her that makes this difficult process so much easier. I normally get turned away, but he didn’t back down, and now we are loyal customers!

This Petco doesn't have as much floor space as the pet store that sounds like "pet mart," but service is good. I saved a little money combining 2 items: Advantix II for Dogs over 50lbs., and a pair of nail clippers for large dogs. The nail clippers were $2 more than the larger "pet mart," but the Advantix II was about $9 less with Petco Pay Pal Rewards, so I saved some money at Petco. The only problem with the Petco at this location discontinued a particular high value dog treat we like, but it's still available at other Petco's with a larger customer base. Update: 9/15/23. Had a huge issue with Frontline that was not resolved by this store.

The store is amazing.. I’ve been bringing my dogs here for years. & The groomers are beyond amazing as well. Every single one of them especially mike he goes hard for all the dogs. But the telephone customer service line forget it.. it is horrific. What a bummer, it was talking to them for almost 2 hours. All in regards to a full service coupon that was supposed to expire today lol Smh Thankfully the manager took it upon himself to fix it.. so learn from my mistake and save yourself some time & if you ever need help, skip the phone line and just ask the manager directly. They’ll find one way or another to help you.

Hubby and l went in with our 2 month old kitty and was trying to find a salesperson to help us as to what kind of food we should get her. GHOST TOWN. We walked the whole store 2x and decided to go to the register to find help. No one there either, just a customer doing the same as us. Even the volunteers that clean the cat cages made sure to tell us that they were just volunteers when we asked them if they could call a salesperson because some customers needed help. If you shop at this petco by north star mall, be prepared for nobody to help you and volunteers with an attitude.

The staff at this store are extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to help you. We were having training issues with my miniaussidoodle and Carrie (dog trainer) made some very helpful recommendations on pet toys and tips for changing my pet's behavior. She further reinforced our decision to purchase toys by letting us know that if our pup does not love the toy, we can take it back to the store at any time and exchange it. We were so pleased with the service at this Petco that we have enrolled our doggo in training classes and are excited to start next month!

The animals that thy sell here are in terrible condition. The turtles have deformed shells due to poor nutrition and inadequate lighting, the birds are covered in mites - you can see them crawling around their heads and backs. The ferret cage looks/smells like it hasn't been cleaned in 2 months, dead fish in tanks, and the list goes on. To top it all off, the young employees don't know anything about the animals. Petco sells all of the proper products to care)) for these animals so why can't they use them. I will never shop here again.

The groomers here are great with my puppy. He's a rescue and was very apprehensive about a bath but they were great with him. My complaint: I somehow ended up with 2 accounts... I'd book his grooming appointment and show up but they couldn't find his records so they'd cancel one and rebook a new appointment. Apparently this gave me a "reputation" for not keeping my appointments. Now I have to call in and get lectures to understand how important it is to keep this appointment

The employees at this location lack professionalism. Hailey in grooming is extremely rude. She needs to lose the attitude and learn how to speak to customers without rolling her eyes. The self-proclaimed "manager" Taylor is worse. She made no effort whatsoever to resolve the issue at hand. She just laughed and handed me a blank receipt with the supposed number to their "corporate office". Needless to say, the number was not in service. Avoid this location at all costs!

Today I went to exchange my fish tank because I thought it had a crack or deep scratch. I was not able to return because it was past the 30 days. I was a little disappointed but one of your employees Will helped me out and showed me it was not cracked. I just want to thank Will it was 10 am on Saturday and he was very polite professional and even though I wasn’t able to return he showed my tank was not cracked. Thank you also for getting my order ready.

Love this place but ever since COVID-19 every time I came here they always rounded up my change to the whole dollar(when paying in cash) without asking you and this time I told them I didn't want to donate and the lady said well we're sorry we don't give change back so they have to donate it. SMH... I donate but some people can't and need their change. Pay debt card if you want to avoid this. But still a good store besides this issue.

We've been taking our dogs to get their nails trimmed and buffed every 3 weeks to this petco. Our bigger dog was always very squeamish about us touching his paws and clipping his nails. Well, he absolutely adores Michel, he is always friendly and provides great service, cannot recommend him enough. The other groomers are amazing as well, Bianca and Amy are always happy to help, and are very friendly. That's why I keep going back!

I struggle with this review because I like Petco and their staff, who are great, but, I have taken my dog there for deshedding several times with mixed results. Sometimes he is great for several weeks and sometimes I'm covered in hair the vary same day as the deshedding...smh. very frustrating. They go out of their way to make me happy by offering refund or to try again but I just don't get why the results are so inconsistent.

(Grooming Services) This was my first time here to take my two babies (pugs) to be groomed. I am very particular and careful as to where I go and whom grooms them. However, I must say, these guys were AWESOME. They were detail oriented, fast, and very affectionate with my kids. I am definitely coming back. Thank you Petco grooming team (Lindsey, Maria, Brittany) at the Northwest Loop 410 location. You guys ROCK.

The puppy playtime makes all the difference in the world. Carrie is amazing and going to the store twice a week for playtime definitely ensures I'm spending money there on the regular. Very smart to provide a small free service, because it really does ensure loyalty from doggy parents. The ability to socialize my pups at a young age and meet others for some adult human socialization is great!

They ask for dogfood donations constantly yet they slice all the bags in the dumpsters when all that food could go to a shelter vs wasting it. I drove past yesterday and saw six 50lb bags being dumped and cut open by the staff. Just very sad the company won't put better use to the bags such as placing them in the donation box vs sliced in the dumpster. I will never shop at Petco ever again

(Grooming Services) Very fast service & received the cutest cut & wash for my little chewy! Plus, the lady was soooo sweet, professional, and told me about how you can get a free wash after i think 6 grooming services on the Petco app. (Kind of how Smoothie King use to have a punch card... same thing here but on mobile app only) Definitely will bring my fur baby back in 4 weeks. So many cute dog toy options and I love to let my dog come along so she can pick toys she'll actually use (she is so unbelievably picky, everything overwhelms her) and food she really likes (I put the bag on the ground and let her sniff and she will tell me which one she wants) as rewards. The customer service is excellent and I love how accessible everything in the store is!

I like the service and the loyalty points I get from pet I. They have what I need. Most of the time. By I also don’t like the press and testimonials I read about how pets are mistreated. At the store. I hope petco improve its standards for treating animals better. I don’t believe In Selling animals. I believe in adoption. This is why I do not give petco scores higher than 7.

It was okay. The selection of dog tags are normal; nothing that grabbed my attention really. The place did seem a bit crowded, but that would just mean that they have more products. I don't have anything bad to say really. A huge pro that I noticed was that the dogs really enjoyed the grooming section. The ladies there were super happy to see their customer's pets as well.

I was very offended today here at this location the girl in grooming was just not what you would expect. I had a question so I walked to the counter had my dog right next to me some Corgis where on a bench and they where approaching my dog and she tells me to move my from them when it was his dogs coming up to mine . Nope not coming back YOU LOST A CUSTOMER DUE TO HER

I took my dog to get groomed here and it was the worst. They painted her nails... well more like the coat around her nailz than the actual nail its self. When i picked her up she jumped from the groomers arms into my arms and was shaking like she was scared. Made me more sad than angry. Never went back to the groomer part but have always had a good experience at PETCO

This PETCO is where I always go to take my Dog to get groomed. I travel about an hour just to get the Services performed here. I really enjoy the fact they go above and beyond with customer service. Because of that I make the trip out here and purchase many items from the store. I highly recommend this store if you have an animal. Little more expensive but worth it.

So helpful. I believe the employee's name was Miles, I called ahead because the last place I'd gone to didn't have what I needed. He checked for me and explained each option that they had. The one I wanted only had one left so he kept it at the register for me. And overall he was very kind and gracious throughout the whole exchange, in person and over the phone.

Brought our dog in for a nail trimming. And the Lady got into one of the quicks while doing the second paw and our dog barked at her. So now she says Petco can not cut the nails again because the dog snapped at her. Ridiculous, any dog would bark if they got The quick cut into. The lady would not even discuss it further . She was very rude and insulting.

Gabe was great! After asking if we needed help we asked a few questions and he explained everything perfectly. We gave us great tips on how to to adjust things so our baby beardie would eat better. (Wasn't wanting to eat and we tried a few things) got home made the suggested adjustments and when we tried feeding him he ate like a champ. Thanks Gabe!!!

This was our first time taking our puppy Mochi to his first grooming session which included all the works. We had the pleasure of working with Brittany, she was very kind and took the time to explain what would be done and what alternatives we had if it couldn't. We are so grateful to have had such a great experience and can't wait to come back.

I rang up my item then showed the cashier the online price which was a 10 dollar difference. They said they couldn’t honor it because you had to have a membership to get that price. I then went online to continue my order, however you didn’t have to be member to receive the online price purchasing online. I didn’t appreciate being lied to.

I went in to the store today. Oscar the manager refused to honor a coupon I had received in an an email as a Petco rewards member. Another manager at this store had honored the same coupon another time. I won’t be shopping at this store again because of Oscar. When I told him that he didn’t seem to care. Had an attitude of “whatever”

Had a great experience! Went in to look around and they were having some pet event where I won a free bag of cat food! I have 3 kitties at home so this was a very welcome surprise. I was helped by a very nice lady who helped explain to me how to change my cats food properly so as to not upset their stomachs. Overall very helpful!

The employees were absolutely amazing! Picked up some snails, and they gave me some of those pest snails for free! Not a problem since my tanks are algae ridden. They had a great selection of aquatic plants. . . And shrimp!!! Some very beautiful shrimp! Definitely the petco to go to if your looking for shrimp, snails, and plants!

You had what I needed for my cat. The girl checking me out was very friendly and asked what kind of cat I had and told me about hers. Best of all, I was happy to see rescue kittens/cats available for adoption. The last several times I've been to the store, the adoption section was empty. I adopted my cat via Petco in Austin.

We have our dogs groomed here. They do a great job. We have also taken advantage of the Veterinary Service they have on Sunday. Pets are allowed in the store. We have purchased food, medication, toys, clothing, costumes, and other pet supplies here. They also offer obedience training for dogs. Don't forget the treats!

It was nice store, clean floors and it liked how it was slippery because my dog was slipping. I guess that's why it is what it is. Nice pet store too. To be honest I would go to HEB or Walmart for cheaper price but when you need to know what to do to help your dog, you need opinions from the staff, and they know.

The regular aquatics team member, Anais, is amazing. You can clearly tell that she loves her job, she loves interacting with people. And she always helps find anything you may need or want. Even if I don’t need anything, I bring my dogs to get a treat just because we get treated so well at this Petco.

I wish so Bradley I could remember the guys The Who helped my boyfriend and I. We go to Petco every weekend and sometimes during the week, and he’s always very friendly. He helps us with the fish and really seems to care about his job. Also they have a widening variety of fresh water shrimp!

My sweet Abby always loves when we go to this Petco! The staff their is super friendly and their snack bar for dogs is so cute! We usually take Abby there to get groomed as well, and she's always a happy camper, even once we arrive. This will always be my favorite Petco to take Abbykins.♡

Everything was ready when I arrived so I was able to run in and out. I take care of my elderly mother so I need to make things happen a quickly as possible so as not to leave her alone too long. The young woman that took care of me was extremely friendly, so that made me fee good as well.

This is a pretty good facility they keep it staffed sufficiently and clean. I've never had to wait very long to get some live crickets. If your coming for crickets FYI call ahead because sometimes they run out. I don't get a dog groomed here so I can't speak for that side of the business

Seems to be a smaller store with a more limited inventory. I often have trouble finding what I'm looking for in-store. The staff are courteous and very helpful. They have placed my items on hold when there was a limited amount in stock so my drive there wouldn't be for naught. Thanks!

I love this place because the people who work there are always smiling, friendly and more than willing to help. Each employee greets you and asked if they can help. The store is always fresh, clean and the shelves are always stocked. I love going there to get my pet supplies!!!!

They do not stand behind their products. Bought a $170 cat tree (EveryYay, the PetCo brand) two months ago. The base of it broke. Since we are past the 30 day "guarantee", Petco won't issue a replacement part. Instead they suggested I contact the manufacturer. Which is them.

I have been taking my dog to this location for grooming services for at least five years. I am always very impressed and happy with the store's staff. I appreciate the expertise and compassion in grooming, especially from Michael (grooming) department. Thank you Petco !!!

The assistant at vetco was incredibly rude for no reason today. I came in to get help about heart worms for my dog and she has attitude dripping off her. I came in in a good mood, And I left completely aggravated. She needs to go. Customer service is terrible.

I've used Petco grooming, Vetco and obedience training. Every associate in the building is super. They all give exceptional customer service. They are all very knowledgeable in the areas . I have already recommended them to all my friends with pet dogs.

I bought the heating pad for dogs that I wanted. I ordered online and received a good discount. I was emailed that the products were ready to pick up. At the store I quickly picked up my package and left. The employee was very nice.

I like the vibe, staff are very friendly with my puppy Kayne, but THE PRICES ARE RIDICULOUS! I can make toys for less time and money, but we pay for convenience. Other than having to dig deep into your pockets, it's a great place.

We took our dog to the clinic , everyone was so friendly and helpful. Then we went to get a brush and a collapsible water bowl and the cashier helped us pick out the right brush to not hurt our pup. Excellent customer service.

When I need pet products (collars, harnesses, id tags), Petco is my go-to store. There is help if I need it and no one nagging me about buying extra stuff. And Petco is working to reduce plastic bag litter. Petco Rocks!

I always get the best service here ! I love that I can buy treats in bulk so my baby Franco can try different types of treats ! I just bought him his first wet food at such a reasonable price and he inhaled it !!!!

Petco is my place to go for my beta and also to buy worms for a bearded dragon. I don't like that they charge for a bag to put your items in. And some of the employees are not very knowledgeable about the products.

I like this Petco and the staff are friendly and offer to assist. I do wish they would do better at stocking foods. Many times they run out of Food items within 2 to 3 days of ship date. I still give them 4 Stars.
