Had a great experience here picking out a hamster. I specifically went with Petland for this, as their small animals are in open aquariums that allow the animals to be handled by staff and customers alike. This meant that my new furbaby is already used to being touched and handled, and isn't scared of humans (and thus, not a biter). I'm glad that this location has all females (something I didn't know pet stores did, but is cool, though of course not guaranteed) as I specifically wanted a girl. Kendal was fantastic in her customer service, knowledge, and caring when it came to the hamsters, which I really appreciated. She made sure I knew what to expect, what to do in case the worst happened, and made sure I knew there was help should I need it. I love that Petland treats all small animals as well as their larger animals. Being real, the little furball cost me three times as much as it would have going to the competitor. But, I now have a companion who is already tame, and even climbs into my hand when I call her. Wouldn't change a thing about my experience. Thanks Petland, and Kendal! P.S. Boo says hello! Edit: Its been one year, and Boo is still thriving. During the year, I've had to call Petland twice, first time was a touch of wet tail, second time for a sore on her little chin. Both times I was absolutely impressed with the level of caring and concern expressed, as well as knowledge of how best to take care of my little furball. While I don't remember who helped guide me through the wet tail, Kendal was once again on hand to give me advice today. Thank you!!

Seniors discount scam! My mother went down to purchase cat food from Petland as they have a 20% senior's discount on the last Thursday of every month. She bought just over $100 of food. The cashier told her she saved $45 as she also signed for their membership card. The receipt showed a discount on every item she purchased, however, it is from a higher price than that listed on the shelf. The price advertised on the shelf is the "club price". So the actual price which is not easily visible is actually higher and marked up substantially from what other stores sell it at. If you purchase at the club price, there is no discount! So in a sense, they mark up the price and then mark it back down. Very disappointing and deceptive. She was told by the cashier she saved $45 but actually it was $0 as their "discount" is the same regular price at other stores. It's funny how the receipt lists all the discount but there is none!

I love shopping here but today my husband made a stupid and impulsive purchase of a parrot without first discussing it together. We are not taking any more animals, period. I called the store within 30 min of him bringing the thing home asking if we could bring it back for a refund. They refused. Asked the manager - he also refused. I understand its written on the receipt etc etc, but seriously THIRTY MINUTES - the damn bird hasnt been in contact with any other living thing other than my husband. Policy or not a store should put the animal's welfare above a damn sale. The thing does not have a home here and since they charge a ridiculous (200%) markup on animals from the breeder we have no hope of getting even half what he paid. Stupid impulse buy by an impulsive husband and now the bird will suffer. TAKE IT BACK, seriously.

I'm not sure how well petland treats their animals before they come in store but this review will be based on just my in store experience. Walking into the store it is somewhat tidy, the employees are very nice and they seem to care for the animals. They allow you to touch, pet and hold the animals without supervision which although it's nice to connect with the animals it also seem to stress them out. Often times I see rabbits in their enclosure with hair ripped off due to the stress of being poked at by children and adults. Although I appreciate the bonds the workers try to form between customer and animals it might be stressing them a little too much. Other then that the people are very nice and the store has pretty good sales!

I usually find no issue whenever I go to this Petland location, however when I went there 20 mins before they close, Emily (one of the workers) was very passive aggressive towards me, as well as my mom, as soon as we walked through the doors. She didn't seem to act this way to all the other people who were coming in after us, which was very weird. When she was checking us out at the till, she seemed very irritated by our presence and talked to us like we were incompetent. Emily showed zero respect, zero professionalism, and a lack of good customer service. As a current retail worker, a staff member who treats their customers in the same way Emily did, would get fired in no time at all.

huge shout out to Chelsey at Petland Manning. She has been so helpful with assisting in a new fish tank set up. Truly an expert in her field, she is a wealth of information when it comes to aquariums, fish, live plants etc. I brought in a sample of my aquarium water and she directed me to the chemicals I needed to add and thoroughly explain WHY my tank was not thriving. She provided exact instructions on how to do a water change and other great tips on maintaining my tank. I love to see people who are passionate about their job, and Chelsey is one of them. Hit her up if you have any fishy related questions.

After two days the three small fish that i bought are died and the manager or supervisor in fish section doesnt want to replace it because she says our water is contaminated. More than a month now, the other three different kind of fish including the beta that i bought in the same time are still alive and they are so healthy. Only one star even though i am pet club member because the fish manager is not approachable to us. She is not even smiling to customers. I feel sorry to her because to me she is so stress at that time or maybe thats her personality. I am not sure why she became a manager.

Always a good experience at this store. My toddlers love seeing and petting the bunnies. I like the fact that you can interact with most of the animals there. Larry and Ryan (fish dept) are very knowledgeable. Ryan was able to do a price match for an aquarium I was interested in as well as he didn't bat an eye when my 3 year old accidently knocked over a Betta container and the fish was flopping on the floor. He promptly fixed the Situation and assured us the fish was fine while continuing to be professional and helpful. I'd give them 10 stars if I could.

We had an EXCELLENT experience at this petland last night. We brought our 1.5 yr old baby to the store to get her a fish (she's obsessed with "fishies") and the staff here were so patient and kind with her. One of the staff members noticed my daughter was gleaming at the hamsters, so they dropped what they were doing, and came over and found the littlest hamster babies and brought them out and showed her how to pet/ hold one! She was estatic!!! Thank you for showing such compassion and love to absolute strangers! Really made a possitive impact on us!

The staff were super friendly and not at all judgmental at your lack of knowledge about some critters. They provided great insight and answers to basic need-to-know pet care questions. Most pets could be held and the staff were open to helping you aquire the specific pet you'd like to hold. Great atmosphere and selection of pets from everyday betta fish and hamsters to more exotic ones like chinchillas and ferrets and chameleons. Didn't see any puppies though but saw one cat. Definitely recommend a stop by even if you're just curious and looking!

I was in the store talking to a manager, someone who I believe was from corporate came up and started berating her. Very unprofessional for someone who I believe was from a supervisory role from out of store to berate a manager infront of a customer and interrupt a potential sale. During the altercation I interrupted the supervisor who was berating the sales person I was trying to stop the manager from berating her more. This is a very toxic environment and I would not consider ever going back to this store again.

Been in this store a couple of times and definitely will make the 30 min drive to go again. Staff are friendly. The two gentlemen i spoke with in fish dept were informative and very kind. They both took the time to answer all questions. The one man took the time to help my son make an informed decision on the fish he wanted to buy and was very patient. We did not feel rushed as in other stores. We both left very pleased and looking forward to going back. My son confirmed that driving all that way was worth it.

Petland is always my favorite spot to go in and check out all the birds they have. I find they always have a great selection of parakeets, cockatiels, budgies. Many of the birds are tame and willing to engage with customers. Regardless of how overpriced they seem I cannot stop wanting one. I have not decided which bird I will start with or when exactly I will get it - however in the meantime I will continue bonding and learning about the birds with the knowledgeable staff!

The staff is very friendly and usually knowledgeable. They have a good selection of small animals that you can pet and hold. They also have fish, lizards frogs and other animals like that. They have a great selection of pet foods, toys and accessories. The prices are reasonable overall. I tried to find the same pet food we buy from them on Amazon for a better price but Petland's price was way better. It's a great place to bring kids for a few minutes of fun.

Very impressed with the professionalism of the staff member Chad. Unfortunately for Chad a woman decided to come to Petland Manning and embarrassingly display her lack of human compassion on an issue that was out of Chad’s hands. Chad was not only professional but demonstrated the patience of an Angel as this woman became irate and extremely rude. I’m just leaving this review to say great job Chad and you have the temperament that I strive for.

Called in for ferret tunnels, was quoted them for 15.97. Drove all the way into Edmonton to pick them up and all of a sudden they are 39.97 and their manager Jeremy wouldn't even try to come up with a solution. Actually was not even that interested in who I had originally talked to as I didnt have her name.Will not be going back. Freakin I'm ridiculous store. This is the one on Manning. ABSOLUTELY NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!

Staff here are very friendly, reaching out to answer questions. They also solve problems very quickly and are knowledgeable with animals. When buying a pet, they will make sure you have all your supplies so you don't forget anything, though this may be an annoyance to some people. They aren't a very big store and don't have very good prices, but they will price match. There is no vet here.

Useless and over priced, management decided shortly after opening the store to double the price of feeder fish because he was getting upset people were buying so many of them, kinda strange for a store thats here to sell stuff?! Plus I have wandered the store for almost 25 min and everyone has ignored me and they do not carry any real fluval maintenance products. Off to PetSmart now….

Staff were very friendly. One gentleman in particular made my day and made my kids smile. He helped us with fish. Then proceeded to teach them about the reptiles. Even gave my 3 year old a bag of water to carry as he was upset that he couldn't carry the fish! He followed the kids through the store and even got them a bunny to pet. Absolutley amazing staff member who loves his job!

Enjoy coming here, have been picking up supplies here for years. I wish they had a more consistent supplier for live food, and their fish room needs more attention because I have to track someone down sometimes to get what I need. Other than that, everyone there is super friendly and quick to help. The store is always clean and tidy. And their livestock (fish) are well cared for.

I started going to this location a little while back and was lucky enough to be helped by Chadd. He is by far the most informative employee in any pet store I have come across!! I have now returned many many times and will only go when I know he is working! He deserves acknowledgement and a raise for his willingness to inform customers and his dedication to his job

Tony was such an amazing help! I came in looking for new food for my puppy as he developed an allergy and she was very informative and able to recommend many options for me. My experience with her was one of the best I've had at a pet store. Other times I've been in there Carole was also really sweet and helpful! Love the staff here, excellent customer service.

My wife bought a Beta Fish. Over time, given the size of his tank, it was recommended we get a filter. When we installed it, it just brew the fish into 1 corner of the tank. They did reimburse our money, but I think asking the questions before we bought it would have avoided a great deal of frustration for us & our animal. In the end, all ended up OK

Great store overall! Staff is knowledgable and friendly. Store is well organized and clean. They have some animals near the front that you are allowed to interact with, love the parrot that talks to me, wish I could afford him and take him home. Good products, though because they are smaller, sometimes missing certain items I am looking for.

today i went in and spoke to Chelsey in the fish department.. i asked her if they had something in stock and she was incredibly short and seemingly snarky with me and seemed like she’d rather re-organize the bettas than assist me. i’ll be taking my business elsewhere because of this as i know there is better customer service in the city.

Always love visiting Petland Manning. But recently their aquarium section has been a gong show. The live plants are barely alive and the fish seem unhealthy now. You can view adoptable cats that need homes. When they have their sales it's really bang for your buck but when it's regular pricing they're a bit more than PetSmart.

The staff was very friendly and the place was very clean. Fun having all the pets right at the front. However we came here for some crickets. The going rate for large crickets everywhere is between $0.11 - $0.13. it was 24 crickets for $5 which is over 2 times the price. If the crickets are over priced what else might be?

Great service! For any plant or fish inquiries ask for Larry! Larry is knowledgeable about all you fish needs! I shop here only because of Larry. I just started with fish 2 yrs ago and have been to many places. Larry at petland has educated myself about the care and maintenance of fish. I do enjoy my fish! Thanks Larry!

I've been a Petsmart guy for 10 years+, but I decided to give Petland a go. I'm so glad I did! The fellow in the fish department that I talked to was extremely knowledgeable and very friendly, the fish selection is excellent. Some products are on the pricey side, but the friendly, layed back environment makes up for it

I take my kids here once a week to visit all the animals because we aren't allowed pets at our residence. There is a good selection of animals and products and you are allowed to pet the animals and or take one into the petting room and play with them. It's really cool. The staff is really friendly as well.

It was a great pet store! I saw a lot of trusted brands and they even have other interesting pet products as well. I had a nice time shopping and got a few snacks for my cats. I was also planning to purchase a cat tower/tree but I can't afford it yet but I would definitely come back here again to buy one.

This is the second time...Manager not helpful, doesn't give you any other option, made you feel like you are not capable of taking care of birds, just because u wanted to surrender a bird or couple of the birds you bought earlier. They also call it "adaption" even though they're making you pay for it.

I've come here every month or so to get food for my pets and the staff has always been so lovely. I don't think I've had a bad experience since in the past 2+ years I've been coming here. As someone who used to work in a pet store I can tell they really care and take care of their animals.

Very helpful staff. Both people who assisted me today were very helpful and polite. Especially this shorter Caucasian lady that helped my fiance and I to find aquatic plants and how to care for them. Their stores stock of items is pretty good too (but their backroom storage is weirdly small).

The people at this store are always so nice while checking us out. We get our bulk shavings here for our guinea pigs - I haven't been able to get a better price anywhere else. If I've forgotten my membership card, the cashier is always willing to help me out to get the membership discount :-)

Okay place. Staff is friendly. My annoyance is that the cat food that I have bought from them for over a year is no longer available in the smaller sizes. It's only available in a gigantic size. My cats don't eat it quickly enough and it goes stale before finished. Need to fix this please.

Just had my daughters first birthday there (we did the tour) and all of the staff from start to finish did an excellent job. They made an effort to remember all the kids names, and they had a wide variety of animals for the kids to hold. Very friendly, knowledgeable staff!

I don't go to pet stores often but my friend has a dog I love to spoil. The staff have been extremely helpful finding things, on more than one occasion. I also had eye surgery and had trouble reading labels the last few months and, again, staff were very helpful.

They had an amazing selection of fish. I am disappointed how they were priced so high and most of the fish I bought died Right away. There were a lot of sick dying fish in the tanks so that's a clear sign of unhealthy stock.

Has a huge bin of kitty litter you can refill your pail from for cheap which is nice. Staff are usually friendly and way quicker than the checkouts at Petsmart which is a big plus.
