- Booked in for vaccination: 17/5 cat was said it was a little bit warmer than normal, and vet stated that since I already gave her vaccination which we have a certificate for so she can book in a booster vaccination for our next visit. We agreed with it and book an appointment. And we got charged $92 for that consultation. - 19/5 We missed this appointment due to circumstances out of out control which we told them and they still charged us $100. - 30/5: we attended the appointment, we paid the cost when vet assistant gave us the vaccination certificate and she told us to come back for a booster in a month time. We then asked why does she need another vaccination shot because we were quoted verbally and charged for a complete vaccination included certificate? She then replied that because we didn’t give her a vaccination as a kitten she then need her vaccination again when her statement was different to the original vet statement we then asked to speak to the vet, we were then told the vet is unavailable to speak to us. We just paid $700 for a desex and vaccination and we could not even get a conversation from the vet on why the original price was different. And it is important to add that the service and attitude that the vet assistant was giving was unacceptable. We were charged $12 for a colar slash cone of which the vet said they were unable to put on the cat, they gave us the cone and we are to attach the cone ourselves and it has to remain on cat for 14 days. We then asked her how we’re going to (not being trained or qualified) attach the cone and keep it there when she could not demonstrate how we are to do it. And when we question this she said our cat was being aggressive with her. And when we went to pick up our frightened scared and “aggressive” cat, she was definitely not this aggressive cat that we were being told off.

This veterinary service has terrible communication. I was never informed to follow up 2 weeks later for the second part of the treatment. It was literally never mentioned by the vet or desk staff when I paid. I phoned to discuss other possible treatments (not knowing the first treatment wasn't completed), and the person answering was rude and condescending, saying I "failed to follow-up" and intimating it was all my fault, with no apology or acknowledgement of the lack of communication and saying the whole process would have to start again, including initial consult fees. Apparently, the medication "100% works," which is an arrogant assertion given a, it didn't and b, is part of a two-step process that I was never informed of. I pointed out I wasn't told, and I thought that that was highly unprofessional; he couldn’t have cared less and promptly hung up. Way to run a business, Petstock! Just called another local vet who can't see her for a few days but has set aside a product for me to pick up to use in the meantime to ease her discomfort - this is proper customer service and I truly believe that some training in this area would serve PetStock Altona North very well. If you own this business, you should be very, very concerned at this staff member's arrogance and telephone manner, and you really should invest in some empathetic customer service training for your staff.

The puppy school was good and the trainer Lauren was amazing & really good at what she does. Would 100% recommend Lauren. The first vet we saw for our puppy’s vax was nice, we asked about food & she only says to read the packet and do what it says. Second vet was much nicer, they were happy to trim his nail & also gave better advice for food & explained you can’t just read the packet as some dogs need slightly more or less than what packet says. At the shop itself well simply the reason why we give a 1 star. we won’t be shopping there anymore, the prices are insanely high. The staff is really nice but constantly upselling for things you don’t need, they always have a spray at pet stock to fix your problems, just don’t fall for it, but that’s what they’re trained to do. There js a girl there who when I asked for help she responded in a robotic way that at petstock they are always happy to help customers but she seemed really annoyed to help. There are much better prices online from online shops & there is another pet shop in Altona just a 1 min drive from Pet stock, with prices for some products (same brand) for sometimes a third of the price at pet stock. Also another one in Hoppers Crossing. Just don’t waste your money in the petstock shop.

The store is great, but do no try the vet. Appalling customer service! We were just turned away from an appointment. Got stuck in traffic, and called to say we would be late and gave the time of arrival. Was 13 minutes after appointment start time - the time I gave when I called - and was told my dog couldn't be seen. I gave the opportunity to cancel and reschedule when I called, and was told to keep coming in. Imagine my surprise! An absolute waste of an afternoon, and no apology or concern on their part. They clearly have enough customers and $$ to just turn people away for being stuck in unexpected traffic. Won't be going back. And honestly, I don't think they care at all. That's the bit you should be concerned about! Find a vet who cares, and where you are valued as a customer. It's not here.

Everyone has different experiences on different days. However, I normally travel from a few suburbs away to go here. This last time I entered and someone rudely said 'you know, we are closed' No 'hi, sorry we are closing soon can I help you get your dog food'. (As I was just about to pick up a large package). Plus the doors are open, lights still on, three people had seen me enter. There are a few ways to handle saying 'we are wrapping up soon' and they did a bad job of it. So - no, I didn't realise you were closed Petstock. but don't worry I can buy my overpriced dog supplies elsewhere. One star service day.

The best shopping experience i have ever had. As soon as I walked into the store i was greeted and assisted, the young blonde pretty lady helped me find the bag of dog good i needed and put it on the desk. she then asked if i needed anything else. She was so pleasant to be around. very smiley and seemed to love her job . :) The second Lady that assisted me at the checkouts helped me look for treats that my dog would love . She found and suggested some great ones and went out of her way to find the bigger sizes for him :) Thank you for the wonderful experience :)

Very disappointing, my visit was a free Dental examination of my dog's teeth, & quote, my dog was very scared so the lady only managed to see 1 of my dogs teeth , & instantly quoted $20000 , l walked out, as she didn't see his other teeth. I went to Mr Brady in footscray & he charged me $850 for 1 extraction & clean & polish, this lady at petstock told me my dog's nerves could be exposed & multiple teeth would need to come out . Big difference in money .l will never go there again . Just for the record .My dog's teeth are healthy. Very disappointing

Wouldn't recommend using their DIY dog washes. Both were absolutely putrid and the water was freezing. My poor pup was shivering for ages after. It's $10 for unlimited minutes, however we were charged $20 for 2 very small dogs. At a set time wash I get both done with minutes to spare, so the unlimited minutes wasn't worth the extra money. We alerted staff to the very cold water to which they didn't seem interested. Won't be going here again

Lovely staff, will remember you if you're a frequent visitor. Great advice from store and/or Vet staff. Will help you with any stock that you need, even calling other stores and ensuring we get what we need. Also went beyond when their groomer was sick and my pup needed an urgent groom, they called around and booked an urgent groom for her at the next closest PETstock. Olive my pup loves it here and gets the BEST groom from Jess.

In there for close to 20 minutes standing looking. at the fish, looking at the empty fish tanks, looking at the fish again. Then looked at the dog coats, wandered around the fish tank products. Back to looking at the fish and dog coats. Not once was I approached by staff. I will try again post Easter maybe the usual staff are back from holidays by then? Nothing bought this visit

I always love visiting this petstock as the staff are super helpful and can always find what you are looking for. Parking is easy right out the front of the store and it's untimed. It's quite a large Petstock, with a Petstock vet inside. The manager, is also really lovely too, as she just recently helped me with an error that happened on my most recent click and collect order.

What an awesome store with awesome stuff. I walked in and was greeted instantly and as I was heading to the cat section one of the other staff members offered assistance. Great experience and highly recommend visiting this very large store which has everything for your loving pets needs. Also it was cool that a cat was roaming store and super friendly too

Very friendly staff something good price but some things were well overpriced. I got some fish and gravel for my tank and some drift wood. Fish were good price but the gravel I got a bag from another store before I came to pet stock. Exact same bag was $11 more expensive here. And drift wood was expensive too. Otherwise good experience overall

Friendly staff, great service, and the prices are good. It's a little out of the way but this area is still developing. The selection on the shelves here is sometimes limited and they could certainly be more proactive with ordering for staples like bedding straw. But if you need something in particular they will special order it for you.

It was okay, clean, it did take a while to be served by the vet receptionist and unfortunately they didn't have any tapeworm medication available due to it being on order. But the staff were friendly enough. I did overhear someone being charged over $1000 for something prior to being let in the back. Feel bad for the bloke.

Not a great experience during covid times. Vet in question on the day was negligent and took no responsibility for her actions. Not a place i would trust with my pet and blame myself for letting my pet be in there without me. Annual check up was pittyful and took to another vet a week later. 1 star

Good, clean and bright just like all other PETstock branches for most pets needs However, the tropical fishes which we are after were not available in store when we were there. Also, I find that their prices are rather steep for the same thing that you can get at other aquarium stores.

Very friendly and extremely helpful staff, great advice when needed. Vet on site. Puppy school available. I've also seen instore pet photographer there for all your pet portraits :) DIY dog wash and grooming options. Tag/ID engraving machine on site. Stock to premium dog foods.

Staff always friendly and helpful. My two cats have been very well looked after in the cattery each time they board there. The staff seem genuinely excited to care for them and have gotten to know their personalities. They always settle well coming and going from the cattery.

Very helpful staff and they are always there whatever you need information etc. Prices are reasonable and they do price match so no need to drive around to get cheaper. Variety is great. If you have a pet and need anything this is the right store for you.
